Booked months ago to eat gefore going to see Hayley Ellis perform at the Frog and Bucket next door. I had a starter of chicken satay skewers and my husband had prawns in rice paper. Both were delicious but my goodness the prawn dish was just superb. Then he and I shared Crispy beef in sweet chilli sauce and we also shared egg fried rice and soft noodles with my sister and her husband who had the chicken version. We all agreed it was the best we had ever had. The specials on the board were written in Chinese, so obviously we hadnt ordered them but oh my goodness, they looked superb when they came out for the next table... so we asked (for next time!) Oyster stew - and then a lobster dish that both looked and smelled spectacular. Will definitely go back again. 😌

Menu was excellent with an extensive vegetarian menu which we all enjoyed. We had several starters and 4 mains between the five of us and there was plenty of food. We asked for the food to come as it was ready and got food very quickly. Reasonable price too. Service was quick and staff friendly. Their website is terrible and you cant easily check what is on the menu before visiting.

A great value proper Hong Kong Cantonese cuisine. They serve dishes that Chinatown doesn’t dish up. The clue that it is an authentic Cantonese experience is with the specials board. All written in Cantonese with no English translation. Be adventurous, tell the waiter what you like (don’t like) to eat and have them order the food for you. We had the most amazing tempura squid tentacles, tempura oysters, butterfly prawns with glass noodles, stuffed tofu, seafood rice noodles, aromatic ginger poached ginger. Don’t believe the Google reviews - they are deliberate fake reviews submitted by rival restaurants. If you’re in the Northern Quarters .. make an effort to come here

Warm welcome and lots of great advice on the menu and wines. Came with Chinese and English family and everyone loved it. Chef Diao came to say hello too! Fried oysters were delicious, also seafood ho fan, sizzling beef plate, stuffed tofu, prawns with glass noodles and the poached chicken in ginger. We ate every scrap. It was all fabulous. Definitely coming back here. Much more authentic than many other Manchester restaurants.

Lately I’ve been here for some dim sum, arrived at 1pm on a Monday. It was quite busy and full of locals. Overall the food was great and definitely would love to come back! My favourite is the fried squid tentacles, the cheung fun could have been better. However I’m a little disappointed that they forgot about the durian crisp order :(

We decided to go for a Chinese as we headed home from Manchester. Water Lilly came up on google and we weren’t disappointed. We were greeted by friendly staff and were taken to our table without delay. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced. The three of us that went, including our 5 year old son, loved the food. Especially the char siu bao buns and variety of dim sum. Water Lilly ticked all of the boxes and we will be sure to return in the near future. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a good Chinese restaurant in the Chorlton area.

Gordon’s Kitchen is our absolute favourite spot for Chinese takeaway! The food is always fresh, delicious, and packed with flavour. Whether it’s a quick dinner or a treat after a long day, Gordie’s never disappoints. The portions are generous, the prices are reasonable, and the service is always friendly and reliable. You can tell they really care about the quality of their food and their customers. We’ve tried other places, but nothing beats Gordon’s Kitchen. Highly recommended if you’re after the best Chinese in Manchester!
