The food here is amazing! Especially the chicken sheesh and rice with the garlic sauce! I usually opt for delivery, and they never disappoint! Absolutely recommend.

We ordered food from this restaurant yesterday, getting two portions. Unfortunately, we were quite disappointed when the food arrived. The chicken pieces and lamb kebabs did not taste as expected and were not like the ones shown in the pictures. Additionally, there was an unpleasant smell coming from both the chicken and the kebabs, which made us feel uneasy. After eating, we felt bloated and uncomfortable. I would recommend others to read reviews before ordering from here. We definitely won’t be ordering again.

This is a delivery experience so can't really comment on atmosphere of the place but since i have to give it a star rating, I am being generous with that particular category. First time ordering after seeing it as a 4 star on uber eats. I ordered a King Platter for one and was shocked to see that for £21 the portion size that had 6 small tiny grilled chicken wings and one piece of lamb kebab and the rest was kabsa rice. I suppose I could live with a small portion size if not for the quality of the food which was abysmal. It clearly tasted like something that had been re-heated after a day or two. The rice tasted as if it was in the fridge 10 minutes before the delivery and went straight into a microwave oven. Others may have rated this place high but this was my first and last experience. Yes, it was that bad.

Rude Rude server. Food is good. Not coming back because of the service from this particular guy( tall big bearded). He murmurs to his colleagues in his own language as an insult after we order. Replace the server, the business will flourish. I also work in hospitality been serving crowded area gor years. This place had no single person,even though he was rude and unpolite. Be kind.

Unfortunately got raw schwarma and overheard one of the customers complaining about how they got served raw last time as a takeaway. The service was poor, the door was left open in the evening when it was freezing and they couldn't accommodate for more than 4 people on a table at once. The standard has dropped a lot, this used to be one of my favourite places in Luton, so gutted. Won't be coming back here again and advise people to avoid also. The food was appalling - raw and burnt. It was so oily I ended up getting an upset stomach and I know others have because their basement toilet has been wrecked by multiple customers

It is so good. I have been a loyal customer since 2014. I love many of their dishes however an all time favourite is the grilled chicken with rice. Their sauces are a dream, complementing the dishes to be absolute perfection. All my friends started to love the place as well! Other favourites we tried and love: lamb, chicken shish, chicken shawarma, falafel, the fish is really lovely too! Could not recommend it more! The service is nice and people have always treated us nice. 🥂 Thank you!

I have ordered 3 quarter chicken with cupsarice for eat in but the rice and chicken is like dry andthe rice is like frozenso we asked the serving person about this and his behaviour is not at all good and he is using vulgar language then went off from the place without paying . Please make sure that keep the rice fresh one and cooked once

I went to this restaurant along with my friends , we have ordered 3 portions of quarter chicken with rice and order served intime but the rice served for us is not cooked well it is semi cooked and very dry rice we got in our plates and we have informed to the person who is in the service section but the person behaviour is very rude and he is using very vulgar language and then we went to that person and asked for call the manager but he is not responded for that and he didn’t called the manager and said that if u want to eat u can eat otherwise go, so we went out side with out any discussion with the word eat guy who is in the counter. We faced very worst experience in uk for the first time. In my view I won’t suggest this place for food, very dangerous ! If only single person is there he is going to threat as well , his attitude like that it is showing outside very clearly!😡😡

Today I ordered a meal at 12.20pm and after an hour decided to call the store to be told that they did not receive my order due to their machine not being turned on. This order was made directly via their website. He then advised that he has spoken to the delivery guy and that my order is cooking and he will give me a free drink for the inconvenience. Completely frustrated and hangry by this point, I decided to agree as my order had already been paid for. 2 hours later… I call the store again, by this point I am fuming! He told me that he cannot process my order at this time. So when was he going to call me to let me know this, further more he then proceeded to tell me that I myself must contact the delivery company to get my refund. I categorically told him that it is not my job to contact your delivery company for a refund and after back and forth I asked to speak to a manager he then said he was the manager, even more shocking!! He proceeded to state that he will contact the delivery company for my refund. I am waiting 3 days for my refund and if it’s not processed I will personally make my way the shop. This is not the first time they have messed up my order but I give the benefit of the doubt. After my experience today I will never order from them again

I've been coming to charcoal for years, I've has relationships blossom then die, I've had family lost, friendships broken tears shed but through it all that beautiful garlic and chilli sauce on the juicy chicken was always there for me, picked me up when I was down and made me feel it was all okay, I love charcoal with my heart and soul.

They are so disgusting sorry to say but they all are illegal immigrants. The staff looks so dirty like they never had shower. I saw the blue tissue was deep in to a sauce and the guy there he took it out with his dirty hand and serve the same sauce to the customer. I have been a loyal patron of Charcoal House for several years, but my recent dining experience has left me disheartened. The food quality has taken a noticeable nosedive, deviating significantly from the exceptional standards I once cherished. The dishes, which used to be a symphony of flavors, now lack the depth and richness that initially drew me to this establishment. It's evident that there has been a decline in both the preparation and the quality of ingredients. Regrettably, I've decided that this will be my last visit to Charcoal House. The charm that kept me returning has been overshadowed by a noticeable degradation in the culinary experience. I hope the restaurant can rediscover the excellence it once boasted, but until then, I won't be returning.

Excellent service. I forgot to add chips to my order and it was already ordered on Uber eats but I called them and they added it on free of charge. Regularly buy from them and it’s always delicious.

Ordered two portions of large chips and some halloumi sticks. The sticks were halved so I got 1.5 sticks with a mediocre (but more flavour) lettuce on the side. Asked for mayo with the chips and I got spunk.

My chicken burger tasted awful- bun was soggy underneath, standard salad chucked in and is not described as the menu indicates e.g, missing tomato, pickles, mayo, mustard and ketchup. I asked for no onion and they added onion with red cabbage which is not on the description either. Overall burger was cold and arrived an hour and a half late! Would not recommend and certainly not worth the price!

Horrible. Ordered a simple lamb shish at 12:20 . At 1 am I finally received my order, it was wrong. Was given chicken instead. Dude got it all wrong. I wanted lamb and bread. I got chicken with some foul smelling onions. I have had diarrhea since 2 am now, just an hour after eating. Believe the negative reviews, this place should be inspected by the health inspector. The cashier was smoking his vape WHILE CHARGING ME. Unbelievable.

Bought food from here yesterday evening. Within 4 5 hours it's all come back out. Me and my children all vomitting. Don't recommend this place hygiene clearly ain't great at all. Don't know how long they have prepared the food for and left for days to re heat. Very disappointed.will defo be putting a complaint in to hygiene standards and council. Honestly people seriously think twice before purchasing food here. Food poisoning isn't something nice to deal with especially with little children and and pregnant misses

Charcoal house is just off the pedestrianised area in Luton town centre. We chose a King Platter and Lamb Chops. Our plates were stacked so high I couldn't quite clean it, which is pretty unusual for me. So many flavours and so much choice. It's always nice to find a gem like this it made my day.

Where to start… this place used to be amazing from food, customer service the works. But recently they have gone downhill, from hygiene, food quality and especially customer service. This is based on the last two times going back to this restaurant. Let me explain Two weeks ago I visited for an eat in experience with a friend we did arrive 30 mins before closing time. We was told a lot of the meat has sold out and what is left in on show is remaining I asked twice just to make sure with regards to chicken shish, he mentioned it’s sold out and they none left. We placed the order and waited our food, after 15 mins the worker came out with extra meat. When I asked him what is this you mentioned it’s sold out he said this for me and not for you. I was shocked on his statement. Today which will be the last day I set foot in this place I ordered via the phone and arrived at 20 mins as per the worker’s instructions. I arrived and was greeted by the previous worker who had a miserable face and felt very uncomfortable . I asked for the order he said we don’t know what you are talking about. He then came to mention the previous time and said he’s not joking I am coming just to complain. Please can you explain this to me if anyone comes to order food as the food is not ready what does he expect at cost. Unless they change this. Avoid this place they need to learn manners and respect. Management take this serious employe people who want to work not to look like they are forced to work.
