Characters Cafe in Wokingham

Came here for a break from work. Unlike other coffee shops this place is: Clean Friendly Calm Quiet Welcoming I've been to other chain coffee shops and they're often dirty and chaotic. The service here is lovely and warm. It's also really reasonably priced.

Ideally placed cafe in the town centre. Very friendly staff. Nicely laid out. Independent, not your usual chain coffee shop. We chose the made to order brie, bacon and cranberry paninis. Delicious! Piping hot! So nice to have freshly made. We were tempted by the naughty selection of sweet treats, but as on a tight schedule, sadly declined... Highly recommended. Will return.

Lovely welcoming staff, great drinks along with a large and interesting selection of cakes and sandwiches..A great little cafe !!! Will visit again very soon.

A delightful, bright and very clean cafe. Visited whilst waiting for an opticians appointment. Delicious coffee, with one of those small but moreish Italian biscuity nibbles.

Pleasant cafe in the town centre, new to my experience. Very nice coffee and the Cannoli are delicious. Friendly and helpful staff. Tried it 10 days ago, liked it, came back!

Friendly owners, excellent drink selection, very very good coffee and a lovely selection of sandwiches and snacks. Always made welcome by the owners and their family.

Nice to visit an independent cafe, live in Wokingham but first time visit on a busy Saturday! Managed to get a table - ordered at the counter and with lots of choice was hard to decide which was great as I have to come back!! The sandwiches were so tasty and fresh, the cakes were delicious and the milkshake and hot drinks were nice as well. We sat for a while and didn’t felt rushed, really nice setting to enjoy in the heart of Wokingham.

Honestly such a lovely family run business. Excellent food, tea and service. :) If I come back to Wokingham I will definitely come again.

Always a great experience. Delicious snacks and pastries served by friendly and welcoming family owners. Service like no other I have experienced, a warm and friendly welcome awaits. I cannot recommend highly enough.

This cafe is lovely, the couple who run it are very nice. The coffee is good and lots of home made goodies to eat with your coffee. I have visited a few times and the staff are very welcoming and remember you.

My husband and I decided to give this new cafe a try last week when we were in Wokingham. We usually go to Nero's because he finds their coffee the best of all he had tried in Wokingham. He said that the coffee at Characters was excellent too! I don't drink coffee so chose a lemon and ginger tea from their extensive selection of herbal teas which was very tasty. The only thing that would prevent us going there again is that Nero's have a loyalty card so we get a free coffee when he's collected enough stamps. There's something about that free one!

So glad I tried this coffee shop, which was spotlessly clean, with fantastic service. The homemade sandwiches were delicious and made to order.

Friendly staff and homemade South African Milk Tart that is delicious! Their coffee is honestly some of the best I have had anywhere in the UK.

Very good afternoon spent here with a work colleague. Great sandwiches, coffee, and very friendly staff. Clean environment following COVID guidelines.

First visit to this super cafe. Lunch with my sister. Fantastic sandwiches freshly made. Service excellent. Lovely people who deserve to do well. Everything is spotlessly clean. We will certainly be back.
