Stopped here for a quick lunch, I chose it as the main dishes were a bit cheaper than some of the others on the same stretch. The curry was excellent with a nice thick and tasty gravy which was reminiscent of how I remember curries in Southall in the 1990s. Tandoori roti was rather small, but by the looks of things that's a design fault rather than stinginess on their part - naans look a good size. Curry & roti & drink was £13. Can't complain at that and the service was attentive and considerate.

We visited this restaurant for lunch on a recommendation of a friend who had eaten here a while back . We got into the restaurant and nobody came to take greet us or our order . There was a guy at the till too busy on his mobile . After sitting there for nearly 10 minutes I went to the till and picked up the menus and asked the guy if he could take our order . As it was a hot day I asked him for some tap water . The guy told us they didn’t serve Tap water and we could buy some bottled water if we wanted . I told him why was that and he couldn’t answer . So we just got up and left without eating at this place . Management at this place really need to train their staff on customer service as the person on the till was totally not interested in dealing with customers.

A male staff member was absolutely vile towards us, lots of yelling and shouting all bc he failed to charge us for eating in after he failed to mention it in the first place. Thankfully the lady worker told him to let it go and retrained him for shouting at us more . I’ve never been spoken to like this and it’s honestly reduced me to tears. If I could put no stars I would bc the food was equally as trash as that man.

Came back here after a number of years and was hugely disappointed. Sitting upstairs we were fighting the flies to get to the food. It was a shame as the food was ok. We ordered the Chana bhatura, samosas and kebab roll. The coffee was cold and we had to send back the pot of tea was enough for two but they only used a small tea bag. The tea pots were absolutely filthy. Will definitely not be returning.

My word this was a hit. I just stumbled across it today for a take away. I met the owner whose family is fro Chandni Chowk in New Delhi the place of some great restaurants. I ordered a Karahi chicken, some parathas starters and sweets including rasmalai and rasgullas. The latter are freshly made on premises, this is unusual for such restaurants. I am Indian myself, I’m professional and well experienced in Indian food. I announce a ‘hit’ restaurant.

I really just went for some snacks, they were being cooked fresh outside, I placed an order for a couple of veg samosa and a chill in some kind of batter. Although everything was cooked fresh nothing was particularly exciting, just average and basically the samosa were mostly potato, one pea and chili which had a pretty good spice hit. The chili was just ok, all of them were very salty. The price was not cheap at all at £3.60!

But for me it was one of the best place to eat we been there continuously for 3 mornings and nights. Mr. Vishal is one of the best person there he laugh with us, he enjoy with us he is the only one for whom we were going there for food. I wish it was possible to give 0 stars to this filthy place. We went all the way from Milton Keynes to get sweets for Diwali. 10 boxes of 500 grams each of mixed mithai. We trusted them to make a choice to make our boxes. Never thought that they would cunningly use all their stale mithai to fill our boxes. We also bought ras malai jalebi and other savoury stuff, amounting to a total of over £100. Who would have imagined that in such a busy festive period, they would have stale stuff. Upon reaching home, we opened one box to try and got the shock. My hubby opened 2 more boxes and we realised we had been cheated. The jalebi was soggy and went like a big lump. Rasmalai was probably 2 days old. The burfi was solid and laddoos were hard like rocks. I immediately called the shop and after several attempts someone answered and was rude as hell. He said they were busy and we should come back to get it changed. I said you must be joking as we are 50 miles away. He put the phone down on me, adding insult to the injury. This shop needs closing down as they dont value anyone, have no respect for paying customers and cant be trusted with their products. Avoid at all costs, there are other better places to spend money.

I have previously been to Chandni Chowk with my husband a couple of months ago and it was lovely service. We were seated upstairs and the waitress was very friendly. However after today’s visit i will never set foot again. Myself, my mother and our two friends entered and we were asked how many and immediately sat downstairs on the available booth. There was water in a jug and two glasses that were placed there already. The water was old as it had bubbles in, the waiter was rude, had no customer service experience whatsoever. Asked him for some new glasses and a jug of water. One of the glasses was not even cleaned, upon telling him that we got no apology.

An Indian friend of mine recommended to me this adress since Indian food is my favourite one. I was really thrilled by the menu due to the great choice for a vegetarien like me. I took 3 dishes, one with lentils, one with spinach and one with chick peas and, of course, I had some naan. All dishes have been outstanding as the taste was smoothly tasteful and unsophisticated. I took home a part of my dinner and I enjoyed it again at home the day after. I will come again and again even if it is quite far from the center of the London. It is really worth while travelling some metro stops to get this experience in a real Indian ambiance.

Hi came here for a bite to eat today, 29th July, Me and my aunt sat upstairs , as too busy downstairs, they don't have a lift, so my aunt had to slowly make her way up, with her walking stick. Sat anywhere we wanted. Ordered one Channa bahtaura and masala tea,and a lemonade, asked for tap water, the waiter just picked up a bottle from the next table of water and put it on our table, the water was war, and not very nice. I can't eat spicey food so I'm always hesitant when I eat at a Indian place. The waiter didn't understand my aunt when she was ordering, so I ordered for us in English, the Channa was not that nice, we both just ate the chick peas and left the sauce it was in. The bahtaura were OK Abit greasy. As we waited for our food i looked at the menu and noticed how expensive the food was, 6.50 pounds for make in daal, wow! The mixed grill was £14.00 I saw a mix grill on the next table and it wasn't that big, very prices, my lemonade cost a. Pound which is cheaper than any other restaurant. Our waiter was ok, a young guy I don't think he was that fluent in speaking English. I didn't ask him what was in the Channa , as after the confusion with the order of lemonade , he said they didn't have any lemonDe even though seven up is lemonade.I was hestitant eating the Channa as they looked like they must have red chillies or something like that in the sauce. Maybe it was paprika .Not the cleanest of place, going up the stairs the bannister was sticky, and then I noticed the sink in the left hand side wasn't that clean, and the hand wash had finished.Small room upstairs, and very stuffy , very messy, there's a random fish tank taking up space where the cutlery is kept, the chairs are not that comfortable. Trying to have any sort of conversation upstairs was a mission, as it was very noisy amongst other diners talking. Not very clean could be better set out .Down stairs, is Abit small, the main counter glass needs to be cleaned, the front door glass needs to be cleaned as I noticed on my way out, it was very dirty. The whole place looks Abit run down. The wait asked me how my lunch was did I enjoy the food, I said it was ok.I won't be going back there didn't enjoy the small eating area upstairs, didn't use the rest room, but judging by the general lack of cleanliness, it wouldn't be clean. The food has left me with heart burn.Sorry this place is not for me.

We tried this restaurant on someone's recommendation. We got there and got seated upstairs. Ordered butter chicken and choley bhaturey. Butter chicken was less than average and choley were undercooked. It is not a clean place... uncomfortable seats. Not family friendly..no baby change stations. The hand washing sink is outside in the main staircase...very gross ! Im not too familiar with south hall as I'm not from London but I'm sure you can find a better Indian restaurant!

the place itself is really busy and this was a midweek lunch - we were asked to take a seat upstairs as there was going to be six of us and no room downstairs - we waited upstairs however a pre booked party of 35 on a business lunch showed up so we were asked to move, the owners were apologetic but the business party were not best pleased and nor were we as if they were pre booked we shouldn't have been seated there. when we finally did sit to eat it was all a bit hectic really waiters rushing difficulty getting served and long waits - the food itself was lovely there's a reason it's busy - however its not the best I've had, my mutton tikka roll was nice but it needed some seasoning and spice - the mooli paratha however was delicious and reminded me of my childhood! the sweets are really not great dry and stale almost - I would go back despite this service as most other places on the broadway don't offer much competition.

Every time we go to chandni chowk we always order the tandoori sizzler and the seekh kebab rolls. They are so delicious!!! Great food just service needs a bit of touching up. Small restaurant so tables and chairs are really crammed which means it gets really hot up their. Wouldn't reccomend this restaurant to people who are posh and are looking for a elegant restaurant as the tables and chairs are all crammed and its quite chaotic whilst waiting to get a table for the family. Overall i would say great to bring the food home but not to sit and eat.

Sat down, someone brought a jug of water straight away to our table... that was only the only good bit. It took an age for someone to take our order. When questioned about the cooking method and preperation of a paneer tikka dish, we were told it just gets put in the tandoor. We asked if the paneer would be in small chunks rather than a large chunk then sliced. Reply was, it gets put in the tandoor, no definitive answer. Ok, we thought.. we'll give that a miss and ordered something else. We waited, and got the chutneys, the mint yogurt tasted rancid, we asked if we could get a replacement, after much debate, we were offered plain yoghurt.Yes, I would say this place is a authentic copy of a restuarant in india, buteven in india they do it better. The hygeine of the place leaves a lot to be desired.Rather than wait for our food we thought it would be better to leave than risk eating anything and left.

Had visited this place for the first and last time, went with a family of four. As soon as we entered we were directed upstairs, whereby the waitress who was serving nearly 15 people on her own tutted when we asked for a table. I am not a fussy eater at all, but to keep things short. This place is awful, from the service and how they treat their staff, to the cold microwaved food which is just heated up instantly, hair in the curry, water served after the meal, I am just truly shocked.Avoid this place honestly; it is bad!

I used to visit Chandni Chowk when I was younger and was always delighted with their food and service and their ever attentive attitude. On a recent visit to them just this weekend, my childhood expectations of this restaurant were crushed. The servers have no intention of serving anyone, we waited downstairs for fifteen minutes before a waiter approached us and showed us too a table, the restaurant was fairly quiet, we then waited for the menus and after ten minutes proceeded to obtain them ourselves from the front desk whilst the mithai staff behind the counter looked on. A european waiter then approached us and asked us for drinks and starters, we ordered a variety of dishes and water to quench our thirst, the waiter proceeded to bring over a jug of water with bits floating around which could be mistaken for parts of a hand towel or tissues. We asked for another jug of water and were greeted with a grunt and a dismal attitude. The food which once was a spectacular experience turned out to be fairly disappointing, on ordering the usual dishes Butter Chicken, Chilli Paneer food items were cold, tasteless and served by a terribly troubled individual. She did not seem to enjoy her job at all and was conveniently ignoring us when a glass fell from the table and smashed on the floor. After an un-enjoyable experience and unpleasant manner we have decided not to ever return to this restaurant.

Went there 9th jan, 2016 with two friends, one Indian, one Pakistani.Bit of a wait for a table but not too long. Had to stand because there is no seated area for waiting. Service after ordering was quite quick, but...... I ordered chapati which never came, furthermore I asked for salt and pepper FIVE times. Eventually salt arrived but no pepper. I had to ask three times for green chilies.. When they came, they had all the bite of an over-boiled sprout. The people serving frankly did not give a damn. They have lost not only us, but all our friends who might have been keen to go had we recommended it. The disdain which the woman taking the orders showed was offensive considering my advanced years, and simply because I am white (anglo Pakistani) does not give the her right to treat me with contempt and scorn. DON'T GO THERE - EVER.

Hi always come up this restaurant when I am shopping in Southall. I use to love it in here, but yesterday was shocking! I sat for a long time before anyone acknowledged me and came to take my order. I had to wait a VERY long time for my food and drinks. I was lied to, saying they are playing up your lunch, and it still took another 10 minutes. I went up to the counter to get my own drink (a can of Coke) as I had waited 30 minutes for this. The waitress (blonde girl) was like a zombie, clearly didn't want to be there and moved at a snails pace. People who came in long after us had their food first. Other people also complaining about food taking s long time. Sadly, no longer my regular restaurant for lunch. Won't be returning.

It was my bad day to land at this sweet shop to buy Matthi (large size) which usually Punjabi people buy. preparation was so horrible that i had to throw six matthies in dustbin ( costing 9 pounds ). shop owner knows for what occasion this matthi is being prepared but he does not know how to make them. it means only to earn money it was done. gullible customer with the name chandni chowk would take this shop would prepare matthi for this spl occasion as customary but it was truely opposite. my humble request to shop owner is to taste first what they are selling. take the chef to task if he does not know how to cook. Matthi is a very simple item which every punjabi/hindu person knows how to cook. one must add ghee to the maida to make it a little bit softer. the said matthi was like a dry wood. so pathetic. i would never in life visit this shop to buy anything. please taste things before you buy. this was my mistake otherwise i would have been happier much not to buy matthi and would have avoided unsavory remarks from my family.

I’ve visited this place a number of times. The first time I went, I noticed the staff are all Goans, so I was nervous ordering Punjabi paranthas. But they definitely exceeded my expectations. The staff are polite, not overly welcoming but always polite. Service is speedy. Their sweets/mithai is always fresh and sometimes I only go to get mithai. I have also taken my own hot case to get the paranthas packed in and they’re always accommodating. I don’t like chai there and chaat is okay but you can’t go wrong with paranthas.

Great experience. Varied and interesting food - when the food arrived we were not sure at all as to what was what but we had fun trying it all. Very reasonably priced and great cocktails. Great food, music and atmosphere, combined with friendly and helpful staff, makes this place unbeatable. Drinks and food are reasonably priced. I'd recommend the mixed grill if in the mood to share with friends. Definitely worth a visit when next in the area.
