I recently had the misfortune of dining at this desi breakfast spot, and it was an experience I won't forget—for all the wrong reasons. From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the chaotic atmosphere. The tables were sticky and clearly hadn’t been cleaned in a while. It felt more like a diner in disarray than a place dedicated to serving authentic breakfast. After finally being seated, we waited an eternity for someone to take our order. The staff seemed overwhelmed and disinterested, which only added to the frustration. When we finally got their attention, it felt like we were an inconvenience rather than valued customers. Once our food arrived—over 40 minutes later—I was horrified to find that it looked as bad as it tasted. The parathas were soggy and oily, lacking any of the flaky texture I was hoping for. The accompanying achar was bland and tasted like it had been sitting out for days. The chai, which should be the highlight of any desi breakfast, was lukewarm and insipid—no warmth or spice whatsoever. To top it all off, the noise level was unbearable. Between the loud conversations and the clattering dishes, it felt like a free-for-all. It was nearly impossible to enjoy a meal in such a chaotic environment.I would like to give it zero stars but sadly can not give that

Chainak in Walsall is a hidden gem! The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, with a unique blend of traditional and modern decor. The food is delicious, especially their chai which is rich and flavourful – definitely the best in town! The staff are super friendly and attentive, making sure you have a great experience. Whether you're popping in for a quick chai or staying for a meal.

Went today for breakfast. Arrived at 0905 and place was ready to serve food. Really good service. Food came quick. Ordered desi breakfast, desi bap and railway omelette with english tea. Food was fresh. Really good parathas. Definitely will.come back again.

Excellent! We weren't expecting much, but turned out to be a great place-quick and excellent service, answered queries well, clear that the food was freshly made and warm and quick service, lovely ambience. Also very reasonably priced. Would definitely return 👍🏽

I’m sorry to give this review just only for the food. The staff was welcoming . Little girl was so sweet who took the order , her name was Misbah I guess . We ordered Desi breakfast & paratha kheema . We stop here our way to Manchester from London . After having a good look on review we were so excited to have Sunday breakfast at this place but it was very disappointed . Desi breakfast was stale - both halwa & chana was not fresh . Puri & paratha was good. Main dish failed very badly. We all had issue in stomach after having food here. I would never go back here:(

Really nice friendly service and delicious food.

This little place is a true gem! The ambiance is cozy and inviting, and the service was impeccable. The food, however, was the real star of the show. We had the Desi and not so desi breakfast and it was absolutely delicious. We'll come back for sure. Highly recommend!

All round service, atmosphere and food is good. Parking is a little scearse on peak time. But a little walk gets some exercise out of you. Wait time is a little longer than anticipated each time an order is made. But worth the wait. Tea sizes are large, so the wait time is compensated.

This was our first experience here at Chainak and they did not disappoint or fail to accommodate us. The ambience was lovely. The restaurant was clean. The waiter was attentive, warm, welcoming and helpful. He explained the menu and made our experience individualised, nothing was too much to ask. The not so Desi' breakfast was flavourful, the spices were just right and the food and chai was so fresh and hot! It was an amazing experience! I would definitely recommend this very authentic south Asian Streatry! we will be returning customers.

The food poured in the bag and I didn’t get anything left. I was told to make a complain when I called the chainak restaurant because everything was okay.

Only been once to this place very nice food and staff was polite too only thing i dont like there was stack of drinks bottle and cans by the sitting area which i think should be in the storage are apart from that it is perfect place to eat

Horrible experience. The puris dint look or tasted like puri at all. Halwa was so soggy and had an awful taste. Chanas tasted horrible. Felt so bad that we had to waste that food as we couldn’t eat that.

Had a little hiccup with the order but they sorted it straight away with a freebie too! Thank you, will be coming back I’A

We did a detour from london on the way to Manchester decided to stop over here to have chai and snacks, glad we did it’s amazing food was really good and so was the chai friendly people and atmosphere will come again if passing though.

The service is top notch and the food tastes amazing. I really like to eat here whenever I can and I would definitely recommend this place.

Had the Not So Desi breakfast and it was delicious!! They made a mojito specific to my taste as well and the sausages were insane so succulent and slightly spicy. Hash browns super crispy and fried bread was just spot on. Super warm and friendly service. 10/10.

The food was really nice and good portion sizes. Iced drinks were also quite nice. The experience was negative because of customer service. The lady that served us was so unhappy and seemed annoyed when I went to place the order. I asked a question regarding the menu and she basically rolled her eyes at me. Really a shame, will probably not come back.

Food was not tasty,place was dark and too hot..there was AC but they didnt turn on,,tables were dirty and loaded parata was very small and just a tiny bit of chicken in it when i had chat theres plastic piece init..which put me off..never agian

Food was ok not too bad and we didn’t have to wait too long for the food to come which was good. However I was very disappointed with the girl in headscarf who served us at the counter. She didn’t even say hello or may I take your order when I approached, she just looked at my face and she also did the same with other customers too. I would suggest that she needs further training in customer service or a change in attitude if she doesn’t want to be there. It’s a shame as this would have a negative effect on a promising business.

We had to wait 38 minutes for the food to come, the keema that we ordered was barely warm , the chicken we had was cold and we received our drinks right at the end when we had finished our food. The tea we had was watered down and horrible. I won’t be coming back again!

Really nice place to eat, didnt have music blasting like alot of cafes/restaurant so is amazing if you may have sensory issues. Food was all delicious and decent sized. Server was great. Overall would recommend and would go again. They also designed the place really nice, was spacious enough to fit a pushchair in between tables but still have room to go through. Even better as it was halal.

Fresh breakfast options. I've tried Desi and English breakfast here, along with the sandwiches over the last few months I've been visiting. Karak chai ( tea) is perfect 👌. Friendly staff with quick service. Prices are very reasonable.

The food is great. The mojitos are a must. And the service is top class. The atmosphere is very warming. I suggest you try them out!!

So I went here for Lunch as I would normally go for breakfast only and alhamdullilah have never been disappointed but let me tell you one thing this place does not get enough recognition there food is absolutely amazing and the amount of Barkat and taste and flavour in there food is like it’s been cooked by the hands of someone’s mother the taste of the food is astonishing. We went for the Keema Nan and Aloo Paratha - service is always 10/10 and for desert milk cake ! I would not go anywhere else I have been to numerous places and some top notch places to have milk cake but no place beats chainak! Highly recommended

Went to Chainak this morning and the food was really good. We ordered a desi breakfast which was served with some pickle, which was a nice touch. I ordered the puri dish which was really good portion with absolutely amazing puris - ( the best I've had) Will be going again when we are in Walsall. Highly recommend. Thanks

Came in Tuesday afternoon for a quick bite whilst passing through. Was given recommendations by the gentlemen inside. Everything he recommended was perfect. Great value for money. Left with a full stomach and a lovely taste in my mouth

Ordered the Chainak Desi Breakfast today and have to say that it was one of the best i have had around Walsall in a long time. Everything was freshly made including the parathas, not ready made stuff. The Dastani Tea was on point and there’s good staff including the manager (BIG KIF)(BANZI)

Food is freshly made, so there’s a bit of a wait but it’s worth the wait! Been a couple of times and always enjoyed it!

Wonderful restaurant I particularly enjoy the dastani chai and egg paranta role.

The staff is excellent and creates a welcoming, home-like atmosphere. All the food is homemade, and we particularly enjoyed the paratha, samosa chaat, and biryani. We look forward to returning with our family.

Lovely place for breakfast in Walsall with good prices !!

We ordered breakfast. My husband ordered a puri breakfast which always comes nicely with fresh puri and nice halwa. However it's always a hit and miss with how much channa masala you get. Sometimes it's alot and soemtimes it's not enough. I ordered the keema cheesy naan melt. The filling wasn't proportionate tonthe size of the naan . One side of the naan was extremely crisp and had burnt parts so was inedible. The amount of filling to the size of the naan was not equal. Disappointed as I usually enjoy the food here.
