Chai Green in Cardiff

They always give Amazing service, and their special classic regular tea was amazing. I'm going to be there regular customer from now onwards experience was amazing.

This happened about 9-10 months ago. The owners and staff acted out of place. I’ve never been treated this badly in my entire life. They weren’t even apologetic after serving us meat when we had ordered for vegetarian food. The owner towards the end abused us and told us to leave the restaurant. He had no sentiment that one of my friends ate meat (who has been a vegetarian since birth because of religious reasons) because of their staff’s negligence.

Really tasty brunch meal. One of the best I’ve had in a long while. I’ve eaten in similar type of meals in Glasgow and Birmingham and Chai Green Cardiff is very much on par. The service was very good and prompt.

If you like Indian food and trying new things, this is the place to go in Cardiff! The papri chaat is out of this world, as are the nachos and masala fries. The cheese and chicken toastie is also unreal! Great friendly service makes this place even more relaxing and enjoyable. Highly recommend!

Went for breakfast with friends and was impressed by the varied menu and quality of food. The restaurant itself is very spacious and well decorated with a pleasant ambience. Will definitely be back to try more from the menu.

From London and visited the branch. Lovely welcome and customer service from Anisa, one of the best karak coffee I've had. Returned the next day was okay but request Anisa to make your drinks!

I want to say that the service, food and staff are stellar in their work. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a very ambient and pleasant experience should bring their whole family here you certainly won’t be disappointed. Keep up the good work.

The chai is the best in neighbourhood. Been to other chai shops nearby but they're too sweet. Breakfast is good but too much tamerine. Light meal recommended. Also quiet place to talk. Very good service & friendly.

I have been to this place a couple of times, mostly for breakfast. Always a pleasant experience. Welcoming friendly staff, quick service, tasty food especially shawarma and lahori nashta with roughni naan. I'll visit again.

The most wonderful staff that are so considerate and amazingly remember us and our order each time we visit! Service is great - fresh food (unlike frozen paratha and kebabs at chaiiwala). Highly recommend, and will continue to visit.

Chai is toooo good and tasty and i never had so tasty chai..Service is too good.. especially Prisha , she is so sweet and talk with smile. Loved the place.

Came to the restaurant at 8:00 pm to have nice meal as usual, request a table for two they ask me pick a table where I like sit, when I sit down a family came to the restaurant and again the team requested us to move to another table. After waiting longer and no one came to took order wait as long as possible, what really annoys is the customer came after me got served still waiting less staff !… never happened before it’s been so many time I came to the restaurant never happened before !.

A family of 11 came for brunch/lunch; we ordered from the breakfast and lunch menu and all the food was amazing. We also had a fantastic service from Prisha and Melat, they were very friendly and helpful throughout our meal

Desi breakfast was really good. A mixture of slightly sweet and spicy, the omelette was fluffier than many high end places and the tea is served in beautiful mini pots. Booths were great for large groups of people.

The chai tasted like I was in India, it was flavourful and delicious. The saffron tea was just as amazing as the house chai! The chaats were tangy and sweet, a perfect combination! The place is very beautiful and elegant looking and is pleasant to be around. Staff are lovely and polite, and food is served very quickly, and doesn't taste rushed! I had a wonderful experience and I'm sure you will too! I recommend this place if you want nostalgic Indian food at a decent price! Will be coming again soon!!!

The pasta at Chai Green was delicious. The chef, Yaqub, prepared it perfectly. The waitresses provided excellent service, being both friendly and polite.

Went yesterday with family was a little busy but the sister did her best to make us feel welcome 🙏 had the desi breakfast ☺️ absolutely delicious and the kakri coffee was insane loved it my boy had a baby chino and even gave them some pens nd papper for entertainment will definitely be returning

Had the desi breakfast thali, good size portions, curries were ok, the omelette was nice. Took quite a while to get our coffees and we did not recieve our water but were still about to be charged for it.

The food was absolutely amazing however I couldn’t help but notice a staff member treating the other young worker with absolutely no respect at all, from a professional dine-in restaurant i expect staff to treat other staff with the same amount of respect as they would a customer.

Ok I like this place a lot. The Karak chai or house chai is excellent, the shop is clean, and looks the part. What's wrong? Every time I order food it never fails to take quite a long time. At my last visit I'd been waiting 10 minutes when a new couple arrived ordered food waited ten minutes and then got their order! The staff are lovely but their system for processing orders and getting them out to customers leaves a lot to be desired

The best meat Thali, was DELICIOUS. Loads left over so packed it up and took home. We shared between two but was so filling. The sweetened chai was the most yummiest I’ve tasted and I’ve tasted quite a few from different places! Can’t wait to visit again

Service dreadful, sat us down waiting to give order, staff to busy taking orders from customers who came in after us, found that really bad, secondly food was served but when we had nearly ate all our food then our tea came. Asked for some water and it seemed they ran the hot water tap. No courtesy of ice and omelette was full of green chillies.

The food was delicious and within an appropriate spice level for most costumers. But there were distinctive parts about my experience which unfortunately will not make me come back to this place. Firstly, I came to notice the napkins has little stains there and there which surely is not great presentation and shows that they have been dirtied somehow. The main reason why I am complaining is actually due to the water; I noticed the bottle cap had black dots in it or something black smeared in it which seems like mold but I am not entirely sure, nethertheless its not great for display. To make matters worse, the bottle had weird bits attached into the inner wall of the bottle which shows they have not been cleaned or cleaned properly; additionally these bits I have found in my water which made it undrinkable. Overall the staff is great and welcoming and food was great, but the hygiene of this place is highly questionable and heavily needs to be revisions since the place was great other than it's hygiene.

I normally do not write reviews unless i am really impressed but this place did just that. Visited during our stay in cardiff, restaurant interior is elegant, kept nice & clean as lady cleaned table as soon as customers left, family friendly atmosphere. The lady serving was polite, friendly and efficient. The food was of real quality. The menu options mean you can eat breakfast, lunch or dinner and had variety of options to satisfy all preferences. I would highly recommend to give this place a go.

I had paratha and masala ommellete for breakfast The paratha was delicious and omelette with onion tomatoes and green chillies had an authentic taste. Loved it !

We came for breakfast and had an amazing nashta of puri, halwa and Chana. The deshi breakfast was delicious and so was the house tea (perfect shade of sweetness!!) and coffee. Highly recommend!

Tasty food good customer service

The owner of the restaurant is very rude and the service from him is pathetic. Mixing up food for a vegetarian with meat is not good and instead of fixing it thr owner gave an attitude and didnt care about it. And neither is the tea good there.

Lovely café with lots of interesting food and drink options. We tried the chips, lamb momos, and chilli chicken stir-fry. The portions are large and reasonably priced. Nice seating inside and friendly staff. They also have a range of desserts at the counter. Would definitely recommend it and will be back to try more items off the menu!

The chaiis are very tasty and a fair bit cheaper than Coffee in most cafés nowadays! The place itself is also quite nice and relaxed, with polite and helpful staff.

Food is always spot on, one of our go to places for special occasions or gatherings with friends. The Puri's are amazing!

We absolutely love this place it has nice decor we had our 3rd visit today the food was superb one of the staff named Anju was very sweet and polite. I would recommend this place to people who like to have desi style food with a twist, their mocktails, Karak chai is very nice too.

The menu is thoughtfully put together, catering to a broad range of tastes, whether it’s an English breakfast or traditional Desi food. Every dish is crafted with meticulous care and the result is incredible! Regardless of your choice, expect amazing food, that not only tastes good, but looks incredible. We regularly go as a group of friends at least 20 ladies. The food was very fresh was served by Rubia who served us with a smile. Thank you Rubia

It was a wonderful experience where I could enjoy the Real Taste of Tea(Chai) You can Enjoy Tea (Chai) if you are a tea lover in its Authentic taste. The assistance provide by "Ms.Prisha" was very helpful Me and Family realy enjoyed the Tea ,food ,Ambience and the service. We Tried House Chai, Saffron Chai ,Chat Plater ,Chicken shawarma, cheezy fries and Chicken Momos, Each food item was realy superb and Tastey. Especialy the presentation of food is realy wonderful. The Ambiance they have arranged is very nice.
