Cedar Restaurant in South Somerset

An unexpectedly great restaurant, with interesting and beautifully cooked food. Great service, wish we could still eat there!

During our three night stay at the Holbrook Hosuse hotel in September my cousin and I enjoyed two excellent five course taster menu dinners in the restaurant. Although it was quiet and few other diners there. was a nice relaxed atmosphere. The waiter 's on both nights was very attentive and each food course came on time and was very well presented. High quality food and some unusual tastes, the deserts were particularly good. if I liived nearer I would love to go again.

The food was absolutely yummy. The chef made special gluten free canapés for me. The whole dinning experience was bliss

Yo estaba buscando un lugar para disfrutar de un almuerzo con mi hermana y decidimos dar el Restaurante Cedar en Holbrook Casa después notando su oferta de almuerzo. No nos decepcionó. Empezamos con un cóctel de champán en el salón antes de trasladarnos a la sala comedor (vacías) para nuestra comida. La comida era magnífica y muy bien presentada y el personal era atento, sin ser dominantes. Después de disfrutar de 2 campos (y el cóctel) por sólo £15 cada uno, nos aprovechamos de el clima soleado y paseando en los jardines. Una maravillosa manera de pasar una tarde. Sin duda volveremos y definitivamente recomiendo a mis amigos.

This is a lovely location for a special occasion dinner or just a catch up with family and friends. The restaurant is lovely and feels spacious. The menu is interesting, and once you receive it, the presentation will pleasantly surprise you. The entrees between the meal are lovely and a great addition. The staff were lovely and very helpful, attentive from the moment we entered the hotel/restaurant. The only negative I do have is the menu on the website was different to the menu on the night. We had already pre-selected out meals however, it was easy enough to choose something else to eat. It was absolutely delicious after all. Overall, a great evening. Thank you.

five courses of wonderful combinations, fabulous flavours, excellent service. foie gras, scallop, muse bouche, beef fillet, chocolate fondant, preceeded by canapés & champagne & followed by coffee & petit fours. fantastic

We had the tasting menu as part of the package and found that all the courses were of a very high standard. Unlike most tasting menus, the quantities were quite substantial. Excellent value.

I have already mentioned the restaurant of the Holbrook Hotel in my review of the hotel itself. The restaurant needs a complete makeover, it is old and tired. The service is good but, having ordered the beef at over £30 I had to pay extra for the potatoes. The meal was the size of a starter, the beef was gone in four small mouthfuls. Without the extra potatoes it was all totally inadequate. If you want a decent meal go elsewhere.

We have now stayed twice in the past few months and it is a pleasure to admire this lovely grand home as relaxed guests. The staff are impeccable, friendly, helpful and just cannot do enough to help you in anyway they are able. We would thoroughly recommend you look up the current Telegraph offer and when staying enjoy the health spa and beauty spa (that really need to be booked in advance

A la carte menu offering a good choice of local foods all expertly presented. The quality of dishes including the lamb and pork were very good, small portions of fine dining.

Dined here twice. Food was superb, from the canapes with our pre dinner drinks to the exotic dessert. Can't recommend this restaurant enough.

Went on a very quiet day but the service was excellent and the food delicious. The only reason for not giving five stars was the lack of vegetables. But the dishes were extremely tasty and beautifully presented, the dessert looked like a work of art! It was a relaxing and enjoyable treat, thank you Holbrook staff we are looking forward to returning.

Stayed at Holbrook for a long weekend and ate in the restaurant in the evening. was absolutely delighted. wonderful food in an enjoyable setting. will definitely return.

Una gran ubicación justo al lado de la A303 para hacer una parada en el sudoeste de Londres. Teníamos tomar algo antes de comer en el acogedor salón con una chimenea crepitante en unos inviernos fríos.

We have dined here a number of times and have never been disappointed, we have taken friends and family here and all have been equally impressed. The hotel is very stylish, but has the ability to make a homely atmosphere without being intimidating.

Absolutely lovely evening celebrating our 5 year anniversary, staff and food we both delicious although the creme brulee at dessert may have been slightly over done. Wonderful evening will definitely return!

Hemos estado en este hotel un par de veces y fuimos en domingo 25 de para un almuerzo especial de cumpleaños celebrado en su comedor privado. La comida era increíble y todos nuestros huéspedes trataron excepcionalmente. La comida y el servicio ha mejorado significativamente desde nuestra última visita en febrero. La presentación de la comida es precioso. El nuevo personal está muy atento pero discreto. Un lugar muy especial para visitar. Recomendaríamos y sin duda volveremos.

The chance for Alacarte or a taster menu which was very good with subtle flavours and a good choice of meat, fish and vegetarian options. Wine a tad expensive but not much more so than other hotel restaurants. Worth a visit.

Very clean great attention to detail helpful and friendly staff in the Restaurant, when I kept getting more ice-cream which was lovely, than my husband I laughingly told the waitress 2 minutes later up came a plate with 3 samples on it it made his day.

The food was technically very good and taste delicious. The hotel and gardens were wonderful to walk around and the staff were very attentive. I highly recommend this to all.

Mi esposa y yo comimos aquí San Valentín últimos haber reservado para alojarse en Holbrook House para una escapada romántica. Normalmente intenta evitar los restaurantes del hotel y encontrar un lugar con ambiente un poco más, pero esta fue una de las mejores experiencias entusiasta que he tenido. El restaurante tenía una sensación acogedora sin mesas que están en la parte de arriba del otro y la comida fue absolutamente deliciosa! No cabe duda de que volveremos.

the decor is very relaxing and warm, service excellent.and although the menu is small the quality of the dishes was wonderful, cooked and presented to perfection.

Peaceful atmosphere, background music just right. The service was spot on and everyone very helpful.

Excellent food presented in a very elegant manner. This a fine dining restaurant in the style of Gary Rhodes. Good choice of wines to suit all tastes and pockets. Friendly and efficient staff who make you very welcome.
