Caulders cumbernald is our go to place for family & friends get togethers, we have always had excellent service until yesterday, booked a table for 6 when we arrived & were shown to table, it's was very difficult especially as we had 2 people in our group who have difficulties with mobility to get to the table as there was so many tables in the room ( conservatory) we were at the window area, eventually got seated and had blast of heat straight down on the table asked twice for it to be reduced or move us, we were all very uncomfortable using menus as fans, the room was jammed packed, eventually ordered our food where things were missing & had to ask for them, no complaints about the food, then we ordered coffee & cakes again only half the order came we had to ask again for the remaining coffees, the waitress made an excuse that they lost the order but half had already been brought to table, when asked the waitress for compensation she said she would speak to her manager but no-one came back near the table till we left, very disappointing won't be returning

Detailed review coming up 🙂. CAR PARK:- A huge car park with ample car parking for all, clearly displayed for all. THE BUILDING:- Caulders restaurant is part of Caulders Garden Centre. The building has lots of history attached to it and its lovely to see this reflected within the coffee shop (my friends mum was born there when it was a working farm!) We visited 25th March 2023 ,just for coffee and cake. I have to say the choice of cakes was quite large and the scones looked delicious (we had a cherry slice). There was a wee wait, but it wasn't too much of a problem to us as it was late afternoon and we were in no rush. I could imagine it may be problematic if you were hungry for your lunch though. Prices seemed as per the normal range at the moment though. There's a lot of seating and it is table service. STAFFING:- In our opinion, the staff were friendly and approachable. You can't beat service with a smile.....keep it up. I've attached photos to see the decor. I love the lights as a nod to the building history!

Visited many times for lunch but went with family for afternoon tea. We always book a table as it's a very popular place and always busy. Six adults and wee one in highchair for afternoon tea. Excellent value, all took a doggy bag home as so much food, would definitely recommend.

Shambles this place. Fair enough we had no booking but to be told 30 minute wait which then turned in to 1.5hrs. Just not good enough. Don't lie to customers.

We’ve become regulars over the past year or two and the high standard remains the same Great food, at reasonable prices, fantastic staff, and always a pleasant atmosphere The waitresses are cheerful, and nothing is too much trouble Today, our waitress was Emma, and she was charming and so pleasant … makes a nice lunch even better I should add I’m a bit of a Victor Meldrew and grumpy when not satisfied with service or food, and very impatient with it … and haven’t had ONE moan in two years Astonishing Thanx ALL The Staff Great Service Stu & Maggi

Been. Shielding for some 18 months due to serious health issues and my 3 recent visits to the garden centre and its restaurant for lunch wer-e a real treat … and such a brilliant improvement in every way from the previous, dism al place, and particularly the restaurant Best lunch in town Food is excellent and a very varied menu, with veggie and vegan options … and reasonably priced considering the large … fast service (l hate waiting) and the cherry on the cake is the staff, undoubtedly. What a cheery, friendly team they have … wae Hannah & Emma getting a special menshie - My mate, who fair likes his grub, was raving about Cullen skink, btw. Cheers & thanx ….. after a long while stuck indoors, it was a treat

Excellent customer service let down by very fatty bacon. Soya latte had to be returned as mug only half full. We have experienced better visits and hope they raise their game.

A nice garden centre with helpful staff who have been completely let down by the poor service in the restaurant. Decided to leave after over 20 minutes of waiting to have our drinks order taken, whilst other tables that arrived after us were being served. Repeatedly walked past and ignored by staff when trying to catch their attention. Politely mentioned to a member of staff on the way out that this had happened and was given a response of ‘ok’ whilst another staff member looked on. No attempt at an apology from either. Really awful service and hope this changes so others don’t have the same experience.

Spent a delightful afternoon in Caulders Garden Centre's tearoom/gift shop Cumbernauld. It was previously Dobbies garden centre but has undergone a refurbishment which is both modern and stylish. We were greeted by friendly staff and quickly shown to a table for two and served promptly even although it was very busy.We both opted for scones which came with butter/small pots of raspberry jam and cream on request. Both scones were of a good size and very filling.Tea and coffee were both hot and of good quality. The gift shop is worth a visit as it has a wide array of gift ideas which will suit most people's budgets.Well worth a visit. It also has a large selection of plants, shrubs, trees and planters. We will definitely be back.Mrs A

My sister and I enjoy a regular visit to Caulders at least once a week if not more we both enjoy the coffee in a lovely atmosphere great for a catch-up and bite to eat . All the staff in the restaurant are lovely and friendly. I also love shopping in Caulders they have an amazing range of exquisite furniture my favourite being the driftwood pieces I have already bought 2 side tables and have my eye on a coffee table next . I have also bought 2 stunning framed paintings of a stag and cow which are a feature and talking point of everyone who comes to my home including my unusual side tables . I also bought several items from the Christmas shop which I was delighted with including my new 10ft Christmas tree . It is always a pleasant experience when we visit the staff are all lovely and friendly and the choice and variety of everything they sell means only one thing I’ll be getting a divorce as every time my husband comes in he knows exactly where I’ve been without asking as he normally just says “ you’ve been to Caulders again haven’t you 😂. Keep up the good work Colin and Mandy it’s been great having you move into Cumbernauld x

What has happened to the Jade House. I used to order regulary for many many years. Well, after a long time, I ordered a home delivery...the salt content in all the food, especially the gravy, the satay sauce and the chow mein is absolutely horrendous. The high levels of salt cannot be safe for human consumption.. shocking. If you value your blood pressure and kidneys, stay away...

Ordered a small donner kebab from tasty point and this is what I received. Phoned to ask where the salad sauce etc was and they said they will drop salad and sauce off in half an hour and i would have to pay delivery fee. Waited the half an hour and no show so phoned to chase up and they said the delivery driver miss placed my order??? Never again. Ridiculous.
