Just returned from lunch with my son. As it was a Bank Holiday it was very busy and we did not book. The lady managed to squeeze us in, much appreciated. We both had soup and sandwich and tea which was really tasty. Service was very quick and staff very nice. Will be back.

The sandwiches and cakes we were served were delicious and so fresh. All the staff were happy and very attentive . We very regularly visit for coffee with our 3year old granddaughter. We are always made to feel very welcome and the staff make time to speak to us and our granddaughter. But, what has happened since our last visit? A surly and abrupt waitress who made us feel she had better things to do did not add to the overall experience. Where have the pleasantries gone?

we visit this garden centre often for lunch. Its usually very busy so we book in advance. My husband especially likes the potato skins with bacon and cheese. Staff are very pleasant and there is a lovely view over to the campsie hills from the cafe, It is not dog friendly although you can take your dog around the outside area . Visited today for late lunch at 3pm. We chose to seat inside & were seated at the top left hand table. A waitress brought menus & then we sat for 20 mins trying to get the attention of a waiter or waitress. The restaurant was not busy in fact most people had left . We patiently waited another 15 mins then decided that we had waited long enough & decided to leave . As we were leaving I approached the 5 or so staff who were at the counter to say what had happened. They asked where we were seated & apologised but no one said that if we sat down we would be served immediately or offered any reason .We are regulars at Calders & we left feeling disappointed, hungry & thirsty.

I find the food good and the staff friendly and efficient. The lunch menu is simple but has great variety at reasonable prices. The portions are good and I leave very satidfied and full each time I have been there. My only complaint is that last time I had a table for 2 and it was very close to the next table for 2 and one of the ladies at that table was very loud and I found I had to raise my voice to be hear and to distract from the constant chatty of this lady. Caulders is always busy at lunch time which in itself says it is popular and deserves praise but perhaps increasing spacing of some tables might mean my last experience was better.

Can't understand the good reviews, unless we were very unlucky. Firstly, on a positive note, the staff were lovely, very attentive and welcoming. No issues at all. Both my brother and I opted for a Scottish breakfast. Served one of each, bacon, potato scone, square sausage and fried egg, with toast. The only thing that got pass marks was the toast. Nice. Everything else was anemic. The potato scone looked like it was dipped in oil and served. Bacon had barely seen the pan/grill as was the sausage. Just disappointing. And at £8.00/head, not good value either.

Stood at the entrance to be seated, table for two, told thsts ok- girl quickly walks away without explaining follow me, comes back to explain this, proceed to follow. When questioning items on the menu, server seemed uninformed and not trained. Ordered and served quickly. This place is nice enough but the staff all seem to be not trained and doing a part time summer job rather being served or greeted by someone who has worked in the industry long enough to have simple hospitality etiquette or training.

Visited today as we were in Clarkston. There were so many offers to choose from Burger and pint £10 appealing to my husband then we noticed a seniors menu 2 course £6.99, 3 course £7.99 my husband had his order ready before I’d even looked at the menu 🤣. In a nutshell it was for the money fabulous. We both had the soup and bread to start then I chose Fish, chips, mushy peas and tartare sauce, husband had hunters chicken with salad and chips we then had desserts chocolate brownie with ice cream and a Jam Roly poly with custard. It was delicious and the service by Craig was excellent so much so we stayed for another drink and had a lovely Friday afternoon and will definitely be back.
