Carrot House in Birmingham

Have been a regular at this take away for a few years. But will be looking for another local Chinese after the food we had last night. Order was, Salt and chilli spareribs. What we received were a couple of normal size spareribs chopped up into small pieces with very little meat or taste. Chicken chow mien. The chow mien was the worst I have had. Processed chicken in uniform strips. Tasteless noodles and no bean sprouts. King prawn chow Mien. Again tasteless frozen prawns. Tasteless noodles and no bean sprouts. They will know who we are from the order. The food was shocking. On that bases we are out and will not be ordering again. The people that we have recommended over the years will be recommended to do the same. A Friday night treat is getting more and more expensive. So will find a place that does not rip you off by serving up very poor quality food.

Excellent takeaway Chinese food, always fresh and tasty. I recommend the duck in plum sauce and the Singapore chow mein. This place is takeaway only, orders can be placed by phone for collection or in person, please note this place is cash only unless you order via justeat.

Absolutely would not recommend ordered at 18.30 was told it would be here at 19.40 at 20.29 apparently it was delivered at 22.10 it arrived. Could net speak to anybody at Deliveroo there were 1500 in front of me the carrot house were either very busy or had the phone off the hook. All I asked for was updates and to be told by food had been delivered when it absolutely had not was a joke and not being able to speak to anybody.... then to cap it all the lady at the carrot house said she didn’t even work there and was just helping out.... an utter sham 😡

Such good food! The portions were good, and the crispy shredded beef was amazing! I ordered Saturday so it's understandable it was a few minutes late. I wish I lived in Birmingham more and could enjoy this all the time!

We have been using Carrot for a while now. Always polite and Fantastic food. The only place we order a good Chinese from.

Lovely food great portion size only thing is would like to add extra sauce i.e. curry or sweet and sour should have a add extra option at end other wise top rate

Small portion size. Fatty pork. Paid for extra meat, veg and cashew nuts. Somehow it all managed to fit in the same small tub the meal by itself comes in. Won't be using again.

I ordered ribs bar b q sauce. Young chow fried rice and banana fritters 18.20. My order only showe'd later ribs sauce and banana fritters. I did not receive my food until now!!!! 20.26cold and dry!!!! I am starving and gutted!!!

Food arrived late but it was Friday busy day. But my word was it worth the wait food was excellent arrived very hot and fresh best beef chow mein I have ever had will deffo be ordering from here again tyvm

got notification from just eat that the food was on it's way, didn't turn up until an hour later. 35 mins after the estimated delivery time, had to phone and chase, staff not helpful on the phone.

Awful. I've seen bigger ribs on a hamster. The yuk sung was soggy and the mixture box was microwaved. Won't be ordering again!

poor poor service. states on this page that if you spend £15 or more you get a free starter, added a further starter to my order but it didn’t deduct it. called the restaurant to question and was connected to an extremely rude member of staff shouting at me that “ no this is only in the restaurant” even though it states it on just eat I should therefore be given it, told her that I’d rather cancel my order and she laughed and said call just eat then. very very rude although the customer is right.

We only ordered starters but it all tasted good and came piping hot. Will order again and get some mains but Carrot House is probably the best Chinese I've ordered from around the area I live.

Delivered half hour late. Waited an hour and half after ordering. No apology from driver. Food was ok apart from the beef in black bean sauce so many red chilli's it was too hot to eat! Not a good experience.

Chicken curry was watery and illuminous yellow not nice salt and pepper chips were soggy just ate rice and prawn crackers really

Food always comes early, always hot and freshly cooked not just heated up like most takeaways, I ask for the sweet and sour Cantonese style for the sauce to be separated from the chicken. Chicken is crispy and I can dip it in the sauce which is amazing by the way, and they're happy to meet your requests which I love about Carrot House, my go to Chinese takeaway every time :D

Best Chinese I've had for a while! Can't say anything bad about the place. Don't understand why anyone would say anything bad. They must not have taste.

Prawn curry tasted like battered jelly. Chicken curry we paid for extra mushrooms and the curry only had two mushrooms In total. Sorry but we won't be ordering from here again.

Lovely food and the owner even called to confirm some details with the sauce being vegetarian. Never had that before from other places! Will be returning!

First time ordering from carrot house. Ordered just before 8pm and estimate delivery time 8.40pm, actual delivery time was 8.20pm. My order was midweek but at busier times I can't pass comment. I prefer my food a little more seasoned (beef and cashew nuts) but food was hot on delivery. No complaints.

Order was wrong. But it arrived in 20 minutes, and I was too hungry to complain.

The starter platter was delicious. Great fried rice and ok chow mein. Overall the food was enjoyable and I would order again.

Food was fine, nothing special, but delivery was atrocious. For no apparent reason the driver couldn't find the address and instead of following the very basic instructions given when he called, decided to return to the restaurant without telling me. The restaurant kept saying it'll be there in 5mins, over and over. My food had to be remade because it was cold, the driver came out again and I had to walk several hundred m in the rain because he couldn't follow the instruction take the next left. Very half hearted apology which wasn't really adequate given that our food was over an hour late and despite being remade was certainly not hot.

Forgot my chips with order and although they bought them up we'd almost finished our meal :-(

If I want Chinese I will always order from from Carrot House..

Tried the Green Thai curry for the first time - was definitely not a green curry and was like a gluey sauce. The rest of the food was amazing as usual! Bit disappointed.

Had to throw almost all of the food away. The beef with black bean and veg noodles were both super salty and I couldn't feed that to my 7 yr old. We ended up having bowl.of cereal instead. Sprungbrolls were ok.

Not as happy as I have been with previous orders, the red Thai curry had the solid parts submerged in water, no sauce as it should be.

Food is fantastic as always but we ordered for 6.30pm and it arrived before 6pm. Second time it has happened but driver reported it back to the restaurant and they rang and offered to redeliver at 6.30 some fresh food. Great service!!!!

Best place I've ever ordered from. I order sweet and sour chicken, and have tried many different places before I found this one and nothing compares to it. Never been let down with the quality of the food (and I'm very fussy so this says a lot!) and delivery time is always quick. Definitely recommend!

Food was quite bland. Beef curry meat no flavour and a little chewy. Bit of a shame had a bad one along time ago gave up on them but thought lets give them another go. Come on guys please
