Carpaccios in Stockton-on-Tees

Was visiting Stockton to go to the Globe Theatre to see Six the musical (last min decision!) Unfortunately I didn't get in as it was card only and only took cash ! I was now in Stockton with nothing to do and walked past this restaurant which I remembered was my Nanas fav restaurant! I thought I'd pop in! All the girls working front house were so lovely and welcoming! And I felt happier leaving than when I walked in after missing the show! So thank you And will pop in again another time !

Pretty dreadful. Walked into an empty restaurant and told our tables upstairs. Had a fillet steak. It came in two pieces and wasn’t good. I had a red wine sauce which was nearly £4 it just tasted of red wine and vinegar. Very disappointed.

Came here with friends.we were greated by a lovely young girl who was really polite and friendly.she took our order and we didnt have 2 wait too long before our food arrived.we all had different variations of the parmesan and we were not disappointed, the food was gorgeous, great atmosphere.would definately recommend

Disappointed after a delightful starter. Got a parmo with a mushroom sauce, swamped with far to much topping it became very soggy, and it was not a parmo, it was a piece of chicken topped with mushroom sauce? Partners was exactly the same, very Disappointed indeed. Cost us £52 to have a starter as rest was just not edible I'm afraid

Service abysmal waited 35 mins in between main meal and dessert, then had to go to bar to ask for 2nd drink, they then turned the music off at ten, big hint we had to leave. Food great but not giving them the business which is a shame cos we have been many times previously.

We went as a 7, everyone had something different and everyone really enjoyed what they had. Lovely food and good service.

A nice restaurant with plenty of seating. Menu as you would expect. Soda water and coke was flat so had to be sent back. We were told the soda machine had been broken for a while so i dont know why they are still trying to serve flat drinks! Food was nice and staff friendly. Had a high chair for our youngster but no colouring/crayons for children as most other places now provide.

Party of 30 one person felt to deal with it all bless her food was cold and was told it standered to get part of you meal and wait up to 15 minutes for the rest that was from the owner

What a let down parmo disappointment dry and dull . This place used to be the best. Not good!!!

I enjoyed a lovely, freshly cooked meal here last weekend,It was extremely busy, so I was pleased we had booked a table. It's right opposite the Arc theatre, so it's ideal for a meal before your show. I can recommend this place but you certainly need to book to avoid disappointment. Over all my experience at this lovely restaurant was nothing short of exceptional.👍

Carpaccios has always been one of the many restaurants I have always been keen to visit but never got around doing so. Eventually, when me and my family found a chance to visit the Italian restaurant, our expectations were exceeded with delicious food, kind and friendly staff and reasonable prices. Additionally, the interior of the restaurant was very well-presented, with the decor and lighting creating a warm and comfortable atmosphere. This place is one I would definitely visit again!

Was here last Friday the food was absolutely amazing I had steak cooked to perfection 👌 our server was Emma she was so helpful and lovely her service was second to none made sure we were looked after I would score here 10/10 for her customer service and being attentive and friendly not just our table but the other tables around us well done carpaccios amazing food and please thank Emma for great customer experience 😀

Ordered takeaway and did not disappointed! Food was red hot and chicken Parmesan was unbelievable! Also recommend the chicken and king prawn ! Thankyou for our beautiful meal.

The good: Service is excellent. The bad: Food was bland. No heat in a prawn/chilli/garlic starter, just a few OK prawns sat in a watery dressing. A mushroom/ciabatta starter apparently "grilled to perfection" basically just a few mushrooms, in a lot of cream, poured over a piece of bread which was very soggy. Pasta mains were OK but not particularly fresh or tasty. The unforgiveable: Everyone expects a mark up when ordering a bottle of wine in a restaurant. Charging £24 for a (poor) bottle which can be ordered online for £5 is shocking. Sadly, unlikely to return.

I ordered the chicken ala creme and it says chicken breast, however when it came it had a fairly big bone in it. I said i cant eat it and didnt have time to reorder so the waitress took it away, to then return saying the chef said 'the bone isnt a bone in the chicken, its for decoration and he has cut the bone out for you'! I was gobsmacked to see it had been 'hacked' out and expected to be acceptable. An apology was given and considering my friend had to eat alone, not even my j20 was offered to be taken off the bill. Last i checked cave people thought bones were decorations not humans for food! Disgusting

Fabulous food and service, been more than 100 times, can't find anywhere better for quality at these prices. Tried loads of different eateries, always comparing with this place. VERY HARD TO BEAT. 👍👍

Food was nice though service was a little slow.

Food was awful compared to there places I’ve eaten in the area. Food was tasteless and dry. Trying to get another drink from one of the waiting staff was a mission in itself and the restaurant wasn’t overly busy either. What one of the guest ordered was not was delivered.

Lovely little local Italian restaurant. Good choice on the menu, good prices and very good service - well done girls. Really nice pizzas and decent lasagnes. 👍

Booked a table and this was available as we arrived. Table was in the middle of the room which I didn’t initially mind. It quickly became apparent that this was not a great place to sit as I was constantly knocked by people from other tables and waitresses walking by. As we were seated, a waitress came over to take drinks orders and immediately asked for our food order. We had just been seated so we’re ready. The food was ordered and came very quickly. The parmo that I ordered was large in size and came with fresh salad and chunky chips. The parmo itself was ok. I can’t hold it against the restaurant as it was the clientele, but there was a family with a baby that cried constantly and the ‘nanna’ kept brushing her back side across my table to get to the child. This made for a disturbed experience. We then waited a while to get the bill and a long time to pay. Overall- I’ve had much better service and atmosphere here previously. I’ve also had better food. It very much felt like they wanted to get us through quickly.

We had an amazing night celebrating a Retirement party here last Saturday with around 50 friends and I cannot thank staff enough for making our night very special. The staff went out of their way to make this a very happy occasion, all very friendly. The food was hot and perfect no complaints at all, from anyone. It was reassuring to receive calls from the manager and I was able to txt him if I had any queries. Thank you to everyone but can I say thank you to the waitress who helped me on the afternoon and a special thank you to Sophie who worked so hard on the night making sure everyone had their food and answering any queries along the way with a genuine smile and for also helping us with photos towards the end of the night. Thank you again and I am really happy I choose to celebrate my friends retirement here.

We all went there for my 50th birthday celebration, the staff are all really friendly and the food was excellent.

Lovely meal and service, that said my daughter does work here! The atmosphere was marked down simply because there weren't many customers in. Food is lovely enough to ensure that either a quiet meal or party will be enjoyable for all concerned.

Was visiting family as i now live out of the area. Always used to enjoy it here so booked a table,now wish we hadn't bothered. Waitresses were young and inexperienced. Poor choice of drinks available. Starter was nice but main course was just ok,a bit bland. Sorry,but would not visit again.

Heared good reviews about Carpaccios as my wife from.the area and highly recommended. Upon arrival was located to our seats. We were asked what drinks we would like. Asked what lager they had to offer and was told John Smiths or Guiness. When I asked what lager was told by staff sorry I've not worked here long we have Kronerberg. Italian restaurant with no Italian beer????. So myself and stepson ordered coke and diet coke which was flat????. For meals we had potato skins no issues which were nice. My wife had chicken liver pate which she said was nice but when served she asked the staff is this chicken liver pate with a reply of " I don't know it could be". I got the chicken parmo which wad barely warm throughout. Oh by the way at the end we were given the wrong bill which we were about to get charged for something we all never had. Disappointed was an understatement. Would not go back.

Just had a lovely meal here,food was lovely,staff are polite and friendly,atmosphere is great,prices are very reasonable,i would reccomend and will return,i would advise booking.

Asked for a vegan menu which they did not have, although we were told they had vegan pasta. We sat down and asked for it only to be told they did not have any, and when asked about vegan food we were offered fish ! We left.... .

Didn’t even end up staying for food after we made a reservation a week in advance .The young lady who greeted us didn’t even wait for us to give our name on the reservation before she picked up the menus and rushed to a table to Chuck them on , literally . She didn’t even look at us never mind , converse she just literally threw the menus on the table . My partner sarcastically asked which table we were on . She just said the one with the menus . We sat down a bit shocked at the attitude and poor welcome however we were looking forward to our meal as we have eaten here before . Another young girl came to take our order who was very pleasant . We did ask for the manger and pointed out that we really weren’t happy with the way we had been greeted or not as the case was , we were advised the manger wasn’t in at which point both the rude waitress and her backup arrives claiming that we are in the wrong for discussing it for the last 5 mins and trying to defend said waitress as she is only 19 . At this point we just left . I will be calling the manager tomorrow morning as 19 or not is no excuse for downright rudeness !

The staff could not have been more helpful to our party of 16 there were very polite and patient would recommend the place to everyone.

I could never get in to this restaurant ever, and I booked a table in advance. And now I realise why I couldn’t. Wow! What an amazing experience, did have a problem with my drink tasting of chemicals (pint) but they couldn’t do enough to help me. The food was excellent and I mean excellent. The service was great and the price was great for what we had. Overall defo gonna be back and was so impressed I couldn’t fault it.

Took the wife for a meal, the food was unreal, staff where chatty and brilliant, we defo found a new gem for eating.

This has always been our favourite place to eat. Food aweful bland and puddings decreased in size. Over priced such a shame £100 quid down the drain won't be back again

I would of given 5* on everything the food was lovely my only problem was I ordered an Eaton mess and they brought it out I eaten half before I realised there was no meringue in it ,the girl did say she had forgot to put it in I wasn't offered to re do it or get a discount off it she just laughed about it little things put me off places we spent over £250 that night as well bad customer service ive had cheaper nice meals where the staff would of corrected this ASAP

Went for a birthday party. 3 courses for about 23 quid and all the food was gorgeous.

Always very busy, book in advance if you can. The special parmos with other topping choices don't feature the usual bechamel topping plus those which I don't think is clear on the menu, but they didn't disappoint. The home made chips are top tier would recommend.

Took a little while to be asked what drinks we wanted on arrival so ordered them the same time as mains. Chicken was delicious and couldn’t find a fault with it, as was the wine. Had to ask for Parmesan for the pasta meal. Asked twice for dessert menu. Very traditional desserts, but the crumble wasn’t traditional with its granola style topping. I’d choose something else next time.

A former favourite of mine which has gone from very good to absolutely awful. The food bordered on inedible. No more Carpaccio for me

Just had a takeaway delivered. Parmo Luke warm. Pizza was cold to touch. Not the 1st time we’ve had a shocking takeaway last 1 we had the muscles we ordered were closed. Anyway, it is what it is. Poor takeaway place but actually a decent restaurant if you sit in.

Went here for a family meal when visiting for Mother’s Day weekend as this restaurant ‘was’ a favourite of my mums. The food was just poor I don’t know what else to say. Steaks over cooked. Fajitas watery and tasteless. To be fair my mums sea bass was good. Kids pizzas average. What sort of place of 1664 lager as it’s main offering? No one asked how our meal was until the end. Another thing the waitress came to give us our cutlery after our starters and just dumped the six sets at the end of the table and walked away. So after I mentioned all of these things to the waitress clearing our table, another girl came over and said there is no manager in to sort the situation out? She offered us a free drink but only 5 out of 6 came haha. Brilliant. Honestly will never be back.

Food was amazing, the staff were helpful and friendly and the restaurant has a very cosy atmosphere. Will absolutely dine here again.

We were recommended to dine here prior to our visit to the theatre. It was a good choice. The staff were great, service prompt and the menu choices ample. Pizza was excellent and the sweets a perfect choice. Cappuccino was good too.

Lovely restaurant with amazing food. The servers on were brilliant and always smiling even offered them to join us and share our chips as we may of ordered a bit too much lol (thank goodness for takeaway tubs 😋) Dessert was also amazing.😍

As an Italian, food is disgusting, not fresh, bland, with lots of cream g, not salted and very fatty. Rossini meat is dry and with a sort of pâté for dogs. This is not proper Italian cuisine, do not go there if you come for real Italian food, this is a mix of burger pizza and cream

Our favourite place to eat, we had our first date here many years ago and it will always have a special place in our hearts. The food is always very well cooked and presented well, the staff are very friendly and overall its a lovely experience.

We can highly recommend the food as eaten here twice in this month, when in Stockton for comedy shows. On my 1st visit (19th November) our booking had been lost but the helpful staff managed to find us a table upstairs. It was a saturday...

Everyone's meals were fantastic. There is a 20% off happy hour offer early evenings from 5-7. The serving staff made sure we had everything we needed. It would be a lovely and affordable choice for a special occasion. It was a little cold in the restaurant otherwise it would have been a 5 stars.

I have visited many times over the years and always enjoyed, we have been for many birthday meals etc. So I treated my husband who hasn’t been before, for a celebratory meal to celebrate him passing an exam. The service was not awful - nothing...

Lovely food ,parmo,pizza,pasta 2 children 2adults. Service very good went on a Monday as they opened. All food we had was very good tasty we went in happy hour so we felt that we had good deal. The only reason 4 stars and not 5 is the drinks. 2 children got small glass of blackcurrant and soda each and one adult small blackcurrant water. Charged £1.00 a glass which had I have looked at bill I would of challenged I am hoping it was an error but it would stop us going again. In a pub it’s 50p to 75p for the soda. A bottle of blackcurrant juice is less than £1.00 so to charge this we felt bit ripped off. Shame as food was lovely.

I come here every time I stay in the area to visit my family and it is always such a great place to eat.

Pizza cooked to perfection- piping hot when arrived ingredients beautiful and very fresh! Thoroughly recommended! Can’t fall off at this place.

Went with my husband for a meal. Service was good. Food was nice. Oinionrings appearedto be shop bought not homemade which was a shame Chips homemade and delicious . I got the Kiev pizza, very thin base and tasted okay but not a standout pizza....

There were 10 of us. 1st in, waited for the door to be opened. Last served. People who came in after us were eating their dessert, Before our order was taken.

Went for dinner prior to a concert at the Globe so we booked and expected it to be busy. It was busy but not full so expected better service than we received, it was really really poor, and not the young girls fault I wouldn't say, they were pleasant and served well but there weren't enough of them and didn't see any management organising them. The food was pretty decent, came out hot, was fresh and tasty....but the wine, oh my days!! I've had better malt vinegar.

Excellent food and service. My husband had the trio of fish and I had the sea bass and they were both delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
