Carlton George Hotel in Glasgow City

Great place to stay in the city, it’s close to everything. The rooms are clean and comfortable. We had a bathtub large enough to soak in, wonderful after a long flight. The hotel staff was super friendly and helpful. AND the free MiniBar!!! What a treat, amazing what these (little?) things mean, just made our welcome so much more special. Highly recommend!

Stayed here for 6 nights recently and had an overall pleasant experience. First impressions were good, staff were very friendly upon arrival and room was clean and spacious with tea-coffee facilities, filled mini-fridge and decanters which were a lovely bonus. Housekeeping were flawless and when the fan broke they were swift to bring another which was appreciated. The room is a little dated with age being seen by cracking in the ceiling and the smaller tv but my main issue was loud fans that kept me awake. The view was restricted to 3 other walls in a square and at the bottom there was large fan’s which made it sound like I was inside a generator (Even with the window closed) and unfortunately impacted sleep pretty heavily. so while I did enjoy my stay Ive left 4 stars due to my poor sleep and the outdated room.

Afternoon tea was superb. Great views over city and friendly service.

It was ok, the room was a little dated but for the price was a pretty fair deal.

Fantastic hotel, price was a bit inflated but still was a worth while trip. Would definitely attend again. If your on a budget this place is simply not for you

Myself and wife went to the Carlton George last Friday (31/01/2025) we were there last year as well and said never again ,this time is definitely NEVER AGAIN the food was disgusting,my wife had to send it back because it was freezing,I had steak and I would have got better over the road in Weatherspoons,the rooms need a good clean and decorated through out(room102)

Really enjoyed my overnight stay. Breakfast was great and liked the idea of the lounge on the 7th floor.

Lovely lunch from the festive menu today. Vegetarian Wellington was delicious. Staff attentive and pleasant. Would recommend without hesitation!

Top location, close to amenities. Friendly, welcoming and pleasant staff. On the other hand, the room we had was not great... Lack of light, noise from the ventilation (interior courtyard side), door not waterproof (the light passes between the door frame and the door), flushing water not working at night, hot water changing during shower. On the other hand, the room and the hotel were clean!

Nostalgic and quaint. Only complaint is only one working elevator which doesn't fit many people.

I really loved this hotel and its amazing location. Definitely considering coming again. Also, all the staff are super lovely and nice.

Hotel with a TOP location in the center. He was very pleased with the minibar included in the price, where you can enjoy a whiskey from a decanter after exploring the city in the evening. The rooms are older and it shows, but they are clean. The breakfasts were not bad, beautiful view, as they are served on the top floor, but rather average. The service throughout the hotel is nice.

Went for afternoon tea. Very disappointed. Scone was hard as a brick. Served whipped cream instead of clotted cream. Desserts were bleh. I have had wayyyy better afternoon tea. Don’t bother going.

Staff served me a rotten sausage WITH MAGGOTS for breakfast and would not give me a refund. I politely asked for managers help and I ended up being intimidated by 3 staff members. I have never felt more unwelcome in my life. Ryanair staff compared to the Carlton hotel staff make me feel like a king. FYI - I paid near £300 for this excuse of a hole with doors - cannot call it a hotel!! PICTURE ATTACHED

All round good hotel. Absolutely perfect for the city centre. Parking is at the buchanan galleries, and you get a discount from the hotel.

Pleasant enough rooms. Bar next door is great. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Location ideal in the heart of Glasgow next to queen street train station.

Stayed here for 1 night comfortable bed service was excellent the balcony view is great the only thing I did complain about was the dust around the room. A nice selection of complimentary snacks in the room and the access to the vip lounge is great for a drink. A really great hotel to stay at.
