Love routine here. It's a filling hearty meal. Made fresh and you are made aware it can be a wait for fresh food. Mine was 15 minutes and you get a buzzer. It didn't feel long. I had a steak box and added onions and mozzarella. Very customisable. Really good unique place. Steak is cooked lovely. Chips and cheese with gravy is always a winner!

Very tasty food. Bit gutted I missed the squeaky cheese upgrade though.

Somewhat bemused by the reviews. Went late on a Wednesday evening a few weeks ago to encounter unfriendly staff who couldn't so much as raise a smile. Long long wait despite being the only one in there, and when it arrived it was barely edible. Sad wet chips swimming in weak gravy and meat with no flavour whatsoever. Ate three fork-fulls then left to find something else. Not sure if I just went at a bad time, and it's usually better, but certainly won't be returning to find out.

Ordered on uber eats and the delivery got delayed for extra 30 mins. Food arrived cold and a bit too salty. I got hungover poutine and I wish they had an option to choose how you want the egg to be done because mine had egg whites still not set and for someone with issues with food textures it’s a bit disappointing ( not a problem to finish cooking the egg myself but when you pay money you expect to get the service you paid for)

Was overcharged & the person refused to admit was overcharged, said “nothing I can do, till is saying this price” when the price was cheaper on the menu and the shop board. Only admitted after I asked for a receipt at which point was refunded and made to pay another price. Refund not yet in my account and spent more than wanted. Food was average

Steak poutine with an extra fried egg is a stable favourite now. Salt and pepper chicken was good too.

Gone down hill since they moved from slater street. Used to be really nice. Staff are really friendly, lovely but food is really bad now.

Hannah was an absolute gem. We ordered with uber eats and we had an absolute Div of a driver who refused to take our order to us after accepting it because it was "too far" and accused us of changing the address (this is impossible on uber eats, and we also didnt do this). We spoke with Hannah from caribou poutine on the phone and she helped us by remaking our order and speaking to the next delivery driver to ensure we would receive our food. Despite the Uber driver being a nightmare, Hannah saved the day. Will most definitely remain a loyal customer.

Went to Caribou Poutine last week and the food was unreal as per! Can’t beat poutine after a few bevs. The staff are sound so will return soon.

I absolutely love this place and make sure to visit it every time I'm in Liverpool. My favourite is the steak poutine and the cinnamon buns are sooo good!

Probablemente he tenido casi 20 comidas para llevar de aquí en los últimos 12 meses. Las poutinas son de un gran tamaño y fantásticas. Nunca había probado poutine antes y es tan bueno aquí que ahora es casi la única comida para llevar que compro. Los precios son razonables y los postres son buenos también. Siempre he tenido el orden correcto (no casi dado para estos lugares). Realmente no es su culpa, pero mi queja menor es que a veces el filete es demasiado raro para una caja de comida para llevar. Estaría bien si estuviera comiendo en el restaurante, pero una vez que ha estado con un conductor de Uber durante 30-40 minutos se ha vuelto extremadamente masticable y difícil de comer.

Amazing value for money and proper comfort food! I’m always excited to get a poutine from Caribou and I’m always blown away by the value for money! Super tasty and filling and loads of extras like the baked goods that are to die for!

I’ve never tried Poutine before but certainly hit the spot. Great place for anyone fancying something a little different with a Canadian twist. The star of the menu is, shock, the poutine. The portions are generous and there are variations to try. Highly recommended!

I always make sure to eat here whenever I'm in Liverpool and a couple weeks ago I was in town for my brothers stag do. Caribou Poutine is what I was looking forward to the most and once again it did not disappoint! There are options to cater to all tastes and everyone in the group loved it. Its open quite late which was helpful too. Looking forward to next time already!

Fantastic comfort food and one of my favourite places in Liverpool to visit. Thoroughly recommend.

I'll give it a generous 2 stars, the food is OK, it's chips and gravy at the end of the day which you can get for £2 on Kensington. The service is absolutely disgusting. Desperately needs new staff because the current ones have meant I won't go back again. Surly, uncommunicative, unhelpful. They scowl at you and turn their back as you come in so you feel like you've done something wrong. They ignore you until you think you should probably leave, then make you feel like they're doing you a favour taking your money. I won't go back. Ignorant, whey faced zoomers.

Poutine with awesome toppings and even salt and pepper chicken cus it's a proper Scouse version of a Canadian classic.

I'd give it a solid 4⭐️ despite I had to wait for my order staff was sound 👌 food was great but it was very over powered by salt. I love salt on my food but it was over powering something needs to be done cos the food was good but all tha salt just killed the food I couldn't enjoy it like I wanted too. I never complain with food, but felt it had to be mentioned you can always add to you're food but never take away. So just add a small amount or none an let the customer add there own salt.

New owners have stopped doing the vegan salt & pepper option, seems like it’s really gone down hill

Visiting the area because we are in alder hey with our baby. Gave this place a try and it's amazing... delivery was quick and the food was absolutely delicious, I'm addicted and probably order again tonight for the 3rd time

It's ok, fries and sauce are nice but bacon is a bit burnt and too salty. The chicken side is fine.

Two years ago this place was awesome. Now, you're greeted with tired, unhappy faces who are visibly annoyed that you bothered to walk in to the shop. Still, benefit of the doubt, always be polite & treat people with kindness etc. The poutine was simply inedible. I've been to Vietnam and eaten undercooked chicken feet that were more appetising. Some meat was so burned, it was literally indistinguishable from what I assume was some cast iron from the bottom of the pan. However, benefit of the doubt again and all that. I came back a few months later, really hoping my previous experience was a one off, that they hadn't actually declined. Sadly, not. Meat was burnt to be unidentifiable, and for some reason was more salty than table salt. I'm not sure what's going on, but that'll be the last time I come here sadly. Like I say, I'm not picky, but there's more edible food choices from a 2 AM street vendor in Hanoi. I'll keep my fingers crossed for better Poutine places in time!

Used to come here very often as the food was lovely, but it appears to be going downhill. The last few times my partner has come to get a 'too good to go' meal on offer for us, he found that the staff were noticeably very rude and arsey with him - almost like we had to apologise for having an order which is such a shame! The last order we had, it was too salty and I found the steak to be too under done to my liking which has often meant I've left a lot of it at the end of the meal. Hopefully, the manager of this place can sort out the issues with staff and their attitude and behaviour towards customers, as well as the food quality, otherwise I doubt even more customers, like us, who have been coming for years, will continue to drop off quite quickly... -> Pictures attached are from tonight's 'too good to go' order as we thought we'd give it a second chance. Food was completely inedible, and had to throw most of it away, it was mostly black and tasted like charcoal, just completely burnt. Feeling very sick after only a couple of mouthfuls, absolutely disgusting. I hope someone like Gordon Ramsay visits them to kick the chef into gear. I won't be returning again.🤮

Lovely food and separate fryers for gluten free!

As a Quebecer i can say its a decent poutine for being abroad, but in the hangover one you could really taste how dirty the flattop was, it needs to be scraped more often.

Weren't clear what is was strange mix of gravy cheese and chips with veg nuggets in box,the mix took away from the salt and pepper flavour which i couldn't really taste,but still ok meal.orderd plain fries they were stingy with the red salt out of 39 chips or how many it was think 5 were red coated,good price though.and people serving were nice too.

Value for money, lots of meat on top (le petit porc), 2 meals worth for me.

I have been coming here for many years, but it’s gone really downhill. The service is quite poor and slow but the food has really reduced in quality. It says on the menu ‘skin on fries and home made gravy’. The fries used use be outstanding quality but now it’s just cheap frozen fries from bookers or similar and they are no longer skin on. I cannot say 100% but the gravy lacked flavour and was quite watered down. So either they are rushing the gravy or it’s a powder / pre-made gravy. Truthfully, it didn’t taste homemade. We went over the weekend and before then it would have been about 6-8 months that we last had it and I remember the last time thinking it had gone down hill in quality. Sadly - I don’t think we would go again, now that we have had two bad meals. It’s such a shame, since it used to be one of our favourites

Was passing and absolutely love poutine so decided to pop in. Around 5 members of staff at the counter and was ignored for what seemed like forever. No I contact nothing. I ordered steak poutine and my son ordered salt and pepper poutine. If it was for the salt and pepper chicken one this review would have 1 star. My steak was swimming in gravy and hardly any chips! Half the size of my son's. His was however delicious. I will agree with others it seemed pretty dirty and at £24 for chips and a drink each I think it's very overpriced. Definitely not the best in the north! Brewski is hands down

Ordered delivery. The maple chicken poutine looks nothing like the photos anymore. The chicken was dry, small and the food felt stale. It's a real shame as I was a regular but the quality is a lot worse than it used to be. I don't think I will be ordering again for awhile

First time taking family here to introduce to poutine. We all got steak with our poutine which is what I usually have. Chips , cheese and gravy very good (but not very hot). Lots of gravy. Unfortunately the steak for everyone was tough and chewy and not enjoyable. Was perfectly cooked but quality was poor. I’d eat the poutine again but not the steak. The steak had always been tender (when I ate at the seel street location ) but not this time. Maybe they are using poorer quality. 4 people saying steak was tough can’t be a one off.

We went for the first time ever on Friday 8th March in the afternoon and again the following Saturday 16th March in the evening and both times the staff were fantastic and so helpful and nothing was to much trouble. The food was absolutely delicious and it is definitely going to be one of our go to places for food 5* all the way and highly, highly recommend

Constant fly-tipping on Pilgrim Street, blocking pavement and garage entry... staff and company do not seem to care about the local community.

Calorific food ! Beware of the ranch sauce which is heavily laden with salt and makes the food unpalatable for a discerning palette! (This sauce needs to be taken off menu and exchanged for a decent ranch sauce .Lots of emphasis on dirty fries with some chicken on top . Reasonable value for money . The cakes are costly but very tasty!

We live close by and are continually subject to this restaurant fly tipping outside of property. We have taken pictures and tried to contact them on 3 occasions and never had a response. This evening, it blocked the garage to our home and as they had dumped rubbish all over Pilgrim Street (which alley gates back onto the restaurants kitchen), it had not been collected and the staff on duty only reaction was to move this further up the street... this is food waste and attracts vermin. It is clear that rubbish will remain there... If this is their approach to waste disposal, I would not recommend eating at the restaurant!!! Disgusting. We have forwarded pictures to Liverpool City Council having being given no other option.

We decided to eat in. FREEZING COLD! My poutine wasn't hot enough to melt the curds. Very disappointed. We've eaten at Catbou since it opened in Skater Street. Won't be returning

Food was tasty and the good portion size but unfortunately the gravy, fries, maple chicken and steak were barely lukewarm. Would have been 5 stars if it was served hot to melt the garlic butter and curds

we can tell you made the serving sizes smaller.. just increase the price by a quid or something and bring the original quality/portion size back please, you were amazing up until about a month ago. there wasn't even any cheese curds on the two I ordered, is it even poutine at that point? was a long-time customer, now i'm sad and not sure if I want to order again.

I got food poisoning after eating here on 9 Dec. Only writing this review now as I have been ill really badly. I should have listened to my instinct and bun my order when what was served to me looked like dog food at best..

Unfortunately they have got greedy!! smaller chip portions and less cheese curds so now it's just chips and gravy with a slight cheese taste for 5.50 don't think I will be back

Great food, really friendly staff

The portions are half the size of what they used to be, the bow to be full to the brim but is now half full. Food quality isn't as good yet the prices have gone up. Shame as I used to really like this place but it's really a shadow of its former self. What was once great bang for your buck food is now a bit of a ripoff.

Asked for extra cheese and did not get any at all, it was clearly acknowledged as extra cheese was written on the box. Got the maple bacon chips and the bacon was completely burnt.

Before I posted here, I have ordered three times from these amazing people. You feel their passion for poutine in every bite. All 3 times were perfect. Their poutine is that type of food which doesn’t need any additional ingredients or doesn’t missing anything, it’s just perfect. Deffo is in my list of preferences and I highly recommend to anyone! Big and mouthwatering portions, perfect medium rare steak, savoury gravy… it’s insane in the good meaning of this word!❤️❤️❤️

I’ve been coming here for years and without a doubt every time a friend comes to visit, I always proudly take them here! The food is 10/10 and service is always fantastic and as fast as they can go. Today on a busy Saturday, they were extremely busy and when I got the wrong order (my fault, it was complicated) they insisted on making me the correct one despite me saying it’s OK. Wonderful service, just hoping the owner will hire some extra people to help their staff on a Saturday :)

Your opening hours are poor. You need to stay open later. The drunk people want poutine.you are missing out on so many valuable customers we would give you so much money. You would recognise us and we could be friends but now we can’t cause you are never open. This is so disappointing to me and my friends.

I've usually always had a nice experience here however lately customer service, food and hygiene wise it seems to be going very downhill. The last 3 times I've been have been awful, the staff were rude, the place was dirty the food was cold (steak chewy unedible and freezing). I always order gravy separate but on my recent visit they forgot to put it in the bag and when I politely asked about it whilst juggling 3 bags one of the workers dumped it on the counter and said "oh yeah here it is", it spilled when put in the bag and when I asked for a tissue rudely stated and pointed they're at the end leaving me to awkwardly clean everything up. Also I ordered a steak poutine with crispy onions which they charged an extra 40 pence for and didn't even put on!!! (Shown on pictures) I think the staff should be more aware of what 'customer service' means. They treat people (aswell as uber eats drivers) like intruders in their home and one specific worker, ginger with glasses seems to think she's the owner!! Bossing all the others around. Definitely needs another trip from the hygiene inspector because it's clear that it shouldn't have been even given a 3 out of 5 Star Food hygiene rating. Safe to say it's not a place I look forward to visiting anymore and I definitely won't be.

I uses to visit Caribou at least twice a week as I live right around the corner and the quality of the food was amazing until Aaron left. Since then there has been a clear difference in the quality of food and general hygiene of the food and shop, and customer service is so disappointing. The staff don't appreciate the customers at all, they forget that we are the people who keep the business running and treat people like they shouldn't even be in there. The quality of the food isn't near as good as it used to be, the portion sizes have decreased massively for how much you're paying, the chips taste asif they have been reheated as does the steak, which is always rubbery and barely edible now. And the gravy which used to be flavourful and thick has gone very watery and tasteless. Very dissapointing! Surely won't recommend this place to anyone in Liverpool and most likely won't be returning again.

Ordered food here few times from food delivery apps, but went in for the first time today. Great service, food and especially lovely staff! They even gave me a few sausages for the dog, it was so thoughtful. Highly recommend

Waited 40mins for an order... I don't know the hygiene score, but I reckon the inspector should go back in. Table had old food under cutlery jar, and guy stratching his beard over the orders. We left with a refund.

Always wanted to try poutine and did it not disappoint. Really nicely cooked steak too.

Food fabulous and excellent portions. Disappointed in cleanliness of cafe. Floor behind counter was filthy. If you sit in corner table you can see right into food prep area and floor had not been washed that day at least. Floor under tables didn't look as if they had been brushed for few days. Sorry but just takes the edge away from fantastic food.

Ordered out from there. All I can say is lost for words. The food is so delicious. The portion sizes were massive 👌 always a bonus and the deserts are the best and freshest I've had in a long time. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Superb flavors! Very tasty poutine with good portion sizes. Great quality steak! Don't skip on the sweet treats! Expect some wait times based on pick-up orders. But everything gets freshly prepared. They got a handful of seats/tables available. Everything, even when dining in, is served in paper dishes which results in a lot of rubbish!

Meh! Chips, cheese and gravy should be as lovely as it sounds but there are issues here that means 2 visits were enough to put us off a 3rd. 1st time was OK, the vegan poutine was very nice, a bit of spice to the gravy and once I'd added the crispy onions it was really tasty. My OH had a steak special but the steak was rubbery. Although the Cinnabuns are gorgeous £3.20 each is way to pricey, a nice trest though. 2nd visit, they were out of a lot of ingredients and I nearly walked into a trap by ordering a vegan mozzarella fella...after questioning the ingredients it turned out that the mozzerella wasnt vegan and they used the same cheese as the vegan poutine, seeing as they were also out of onions, I would have paid them a couple of quid more and just got the basic vegan poutine if Id not spotted it. The server had no allergy knowledge about lactose presence in mozzarella...kept saying it was vegetarian when I was asking about whether it was real dairy and had lactose, the menu board says ask for vegan (and you can get vegan mozzarella subs elsewhere)! We ended up with a really disappointing meal, 50% of the chips in the container were fluffy and had the unpleasant texture of reheated chips. Had stomachache for hours after eating them. The vegan salt and pepper nuggets were bland and dry, not the salt and pepper heat and lovely flavour expected at all and expensive for portion size too, the buffalo chicken pieces worked out at a £1 each but were the size of a fat finger each and covered in a horrid acrid sauce. Never going back. Make our own poutine 1000x better at home. Some really miserable staff members on both visits too.

The vegan maple poutine is just incredible, it lifts my mood after a bad day! If you have room left, squeeze in a piece of the vegan biscoff fudge cake afterwards 😋

Went here with a few friends tonight and may have accidentally found one of my favourite scrans in Liverpool so far; the service was extremely friendly, food was prepared quickly and to a good standard; and had me full before I knew it! Top nosh!

Just been here tonight after accidentally stumbling across this place. What an amazing accident that was. The food was amazing. Service was great! Well worth the money and will definitely come back when we are visiting Liverpool again. If you love poutine this is worth a try if you are in the area! I can highly recommend the salt and pepper topping!

My first experience of poutine and it was delicious, hot and fresh. I had the crispy salt and pepper chicken. It was very busy on Friday lunch time but we'll worth the wait.
