Classy and sophisticated establishment with a great customer service, and the food is made with love💯😋 I'LL BE BACK!!

The food was good, daycor basic but not gordy just nice and tidy. The staff was very efficient and very attentive and the food delivered with efficiently and care. My starters was salfish fritter two and my main course was, salt fish and ake green banana yam and dumplings all steamed " I know I love saltfish" and hard food 😋🥗🍲🥘. Then Followed by rum cake with icecream, never had that with cake before, I usually eat my cake with a cup of tea and I am good to go, but I have to say it was nice 😋. Overall it's a nice place for your self if you don't want to cook or a nice place out for your family, girlfriend, wife or boyfriend.

As a church we booked a table of 11 for church fellowship. We dined in on Friday 19 August 2022. We booked Caribba based on the positive reviews I had read. I spoke to and booked the table with Carlton. Carlton mentioned that it would be helpful for Caribba if they had everyone's meal choice prior to attending, so this was done. All meal choices were emailed to Caribba on Wednesday 17th August. There were 10 that attended as I was unwell. The feedback from the night was extremely disappointing. Service was very very slow. The staff assigned to the table were clearly inexperienced. Staff had to be reminded to bring cutlery and drinking glasses. Meals were not bought in together even though people had ordered the same starter/main. When dessert was asked for, we were told they didn't have that dessert (Apple Rum mixed crumble) even though all meal choices were given 2 days before. We were told that they had had a menu change on the Friday morning of our meal and that I had been sent an email explaining this. I checked junk, spam, unwanted and the inbox and no email had been sent. In addition, I have just looked on the Caribba website and they still have the Apple Rum mixed crumble as a dessert option. One guest was told that the prices on the website were not correct and that the prices to sit and dine in were £2.00 more for the oxtail. Staff had to be asked to take dirty plates away. Staff didn't know the answer to very basic questions. Staff bought desserts out but no spoons. When a spoon was asked for, they bought out a soup spoon. The ice cream tasted of garlic, like a utensil that was previously used on garlic had been used to scoop the ice cream. Plantin is £2.00, but for this you get 3 slices of half a plantin! The night was a disaster. When Carlton heard that the guests were not happy he came out to speak to my husband. One of the first things Carlton asked, was "do you have children?" and then went on to explain that the children that were assigned to our table were in 'training!' and that he has a wealth of experience in what he's doing and he can serve silver service. He was trying his hardest to justify the very very poor service and unforgettable experience (for all the wrong reasons) we had suffered. I was unable to attend, but sent £25.00 to cover a take-away meal. I requested soup, oxtail with rice n peas, plantin and Apple rum mixed crumble. When I received my meal I had rice n peas, oxtail and plantin. Nothing else and no change. So now Caribba has 11 people that will share this poor experience with family, friends and colleagues and they in turn will tell others and avoid this place. We try our very best to support black owned businesses, but they will definitely not see us again and I certainly will not recommend this place. Very disappointing. I want to give no stars, but I am forced to give 1 star so I can post this review.

Ive not been impressed.  It was badly organised.  This was a family event and on arrival the room was not ready.  We had a buffet service and the food was not hot.  We had a few people complain about this, along with the freshness.   There was not a good selection of food, nor was there a lot of food and very little curry.  The vegetarian and vegan option was disappointing and non-existent when they were aware in advance.  They knocked up something last minute and were still charging the same money. It claims to be a restaurant but you expect tap water on the table as standard which had to be requested.  There was no one coming round to make sure everything was ok which was disappointing, as you expect that type of service from a restaurant.  It took some time for the plates to be cleared from the table. We were charged for room hire and it was not a room.  The layout was not great to accommodate an event.  We had to ask for toilet roll and in one of the toilets there was no toilet seat which was on the floor.  You had to keep getting up and moving for the DJ to get set up, which should have been set up prior.  You can't be expecting people to keep getting up from the chair whilst equipment is brought in.  The space is so limited on one side of the room you can't pass by without someone having to move their chair which is not good and an inconvenience. Overall, communication was poor, and the food and what was provided was not worth the money.  I have emailed the restaurant who have yet to acknowledge, and on that basis I want be returning.  I wouldn't be recommending this place to other people.

The food was very nice , friendly staff and nice atmosphere

We booked VIP Louge for a friends 40th Birthday of which we ended up cancelling as the venue was too small but had already paid a despoist on 10th of March 2022. I called the Manager Carlton Barrett who confirmed that deposit of £250 would be refunded ASAP. A few times i have calle d the restuarant of which he has responded and made verious excuses as to why he has not made this payment. This makes me believe they should not be trusted as they will hold on to your funds. They make you do a bank transfer knowing full well you wont be able to do a recall of funds with card issure. I am disgusted with search behaviour which is typicall of black business owners NOT TO BE TRUSTED.......Pauline

This was a decent eatery and the food was authentic Jamaican cuisine. The prices were realistic and the portions were good. The service was efficient and pleasant.

Food was nice, staff were helpful and friendly however they didn't offer a great variety of dishes, plus vegans weren't really catered for and did not get any kind of dessert. 😕

We had a reunion get together here. Excellent food, all tasty authentic Caribbean food and a great selection. I had curried mutton with rice and peas. It was lovely. The dumplings were great too. All in the group loved their food some had chicken, others had oxtail or ackee and salt fish. My dessert was apple pie and custard. The staff were friendly and professional. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Country Man delivered another excellence night of entertainment.with an exquisite Caribbean meal, 2-4-1 cocktails, quiz, and party tunes. And a good night was had by all. (We came second in the quiz). Only one critical point here (to the restaurant, as Country Man is a separate brand). Speed up the service and increase your profit. Quicker you serve the drinks, higher increase in revenue 🍸 ✅

What lovely staff, clean, nice background chilled music. Honestly the most amazing steak I've ever had. We had a wonderful meal.

Would recommend travel from Birmingham it's hard to find and but definitely recommend a food and service. Having had the mutton dish only thing I would recommend and is probably a warm bowl of water and their towels for the end of your meal for sticky Fingers otherwise well worth the trip and will be back

Had a nice meal at the Caribba. It was the standard meal, very tasty and can’t complain however I was disappointed that there wasn’t any fried dumplins. Portions were generous but when I decided to go back for more the waiter seemed to be a little cagey like he didn’t want to serve any more. On the whole, a good evening and nice atmosphere. Just one thing the toilet was actually very clean but who decided to put the sink behind the cistern?

Nice clean venue. Had vegetable soup for starter nice & hot peppery would have been nice with a slice of Hardo bread. Main meal was tasty it's a shame that the food was not hot only warm hence star 🌟 rating. Thank you to all the staff.

Purchased three takeaways today and can honestly highlight the quality of the food as excellent. We enjoyed curry mutton and rice and peas plus hake and white rice all with salad and colesaw. Portion size was very generous. Very pleasant service too. Look forward to dining in and visiting the cocktail lounge 😎

One of the worse restaurants I’ve ever been too! The restaurant had the orders 24hrs before before we arrived and still they didn’t have the correct food! Then when the food came out for the guests it didn’t come out together which meant when some people finished their food the others had started theirs. The service was crap. The food was cold!!! And for the price you pay for a meal at this restaurant your much better going to a caribbean takeaway to pay less and get more for your money. If wasn’t for our party I don’t think the staff would of got paid last night! I’m actually surprised this place is still open!

The food is beautiful. We ordered for seven and every dish was delicious. The staff were friendly and courteous! We would definitely return!

Have visited quite a few times sat eve with friends so thought I would book again for daughters birthday once again was not let down food was amazing all tried different dishes and all shared each other’s not disappointed mmmm cocktails and punch finished the eve off a treat service from the girls was excellent again

2 years ago I wrote a glowing review for this restaurant because my experience was such a good one. It was infact so good that I decided to use their Christmas meal service whereby you order your meal and collect it on the day. On Christmas day we waited for them to call us as arranged but as no call came, my husband went to the venue and was told by Carlton that he had lost our number, the beginning of an awful experience! To summarise, when I checked the packages brought home by my husband, I discovered that there were dishes missing but when we raised this with Carlton we were basically accused of lying as he insisted that we had be given all that we ordered. Also the vegetable and plantain portions were sufficient for 2 people not the 6 we ordered for. The whole experience evoked emotions which completely ruined the Christmas day as some family members were so upset that they didn't eat at all! I sent an email of complaint to the restaurant using their link but had no reply. I didn't leave a review at the time because I try to support black businesses, however whenever businesses, irrespective of nationality, deliver an appalling, substandard service, it should be raised in order for improvements to be made. We more or less live across the road from the venue but have not visited the restaurant since.

We booked a meal here almost 2 weeks before our scheduled meal. An hour before our meal time we received an email to say our booking had been cancelled as they were fully booked. When we tried to ring there was no answer. Will definitely not be trying to rebook a meal here! After reading other reviews we are not the only ones this has happened to.

Good luck if you wish to book a table at this restaurant. I called numerous times throughout the week and no one answered. I left an online booking and no one got back to me. I sent numerous messages on their website online chat and was informed someone would get back to me but with no joy. I find this very unprofessional. This would of been our first time and will now be our last!

Well our experience was we never had a meal there,I had booked for my partners birthday for the 6th March,whilst travelling down to the caribba restaurant.I had received a call which I picked up on their car park,saying that due to a burst water pipe the restaraunt was closed,despite phone calls back to them and their on line message service,they have refused to return any calls offer any apologies or please re-book,nothing at all no compensation or bottle of wine,nothing at all ruined evening and travel We will not be booking again that was first visit and the last Steve C Telford

Nice food and friendly services

Our family dined at this restaurant yesterday to celebrate our Aunties birthday and I must say that the food was delicious and the curry goat is die for.. a good portion size aswell, plantain was a bit scanty on the plate for a starter but the main course definitely made up for it. Staff were extremely friendly and the place was very clean and tidy, I would highly recommend this place for any kind of celebration and I will certainly be attending here again. Excellent service.

Me and my friend visited and had a great night. I eat out alot and honestly this is the nicest carribbean food i have had in ages. I normally go to a more commercialised carribbean chain. I will be coming here now I have found it. I had the jerk chicken and it was lovely. Generous portion sizes. My friend had ackee and saltfish which i tried, also nice. I could not fault the service. Lovely atmosphere with reggae playing. I had a great night so will be coming again.

Caribba recently hosted my sister's birthday party and whole event was a huge success from start to finish.

It is not the first time that I've been to this restaurant but it's my first time publicly giving my review. It was my niece's 30th birthday dinner party yesterday afternoon which she knew she was having but didn't expect to see the surprise friends 'n' family that came. The restaurant gave us free reign when putting up decorations - THANK YOU!! The food was outstanding - They never go wrong with the curried mutton which is one of my favourites. I must add that I've had their steak and that was delicious too - Keep it up guys!! You'll frequently see our families there 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

We visited on a Saturday night and found that the restaurant had ran out of carling lager, boneless jerk chicken and fried dumplings, not a good start. My mutton curry, which was commended by another reviewer consisted of lots of bones and little meat. We will give this restaurant another try in a couple of months hoping that they were just having a bad night.

Wife had Salmon said it was absolutely beautiful full of flavour I had curry and can honestly say it is the nicest I have EVER tasted will be going back

I would definitely NOT recommend this place to anyone.. was here for a party.. the drinks were way overpriced.. nothing on tap.. they said they ran out even though they knew they had a party for 50 guests.. and dont get me started on the food.. there was only 4 options available to everyone.. which we was very disappointed in seeing as we paid £15 a head for the food.. Total waste of money and I will definitely be putting people off this place.. not worth it at all.. oh before I forget there's no air conditioning at all in the place. Everyone was that hot they were all outside most of the time.. I WILL NOT be coming back here again!!!!

We had my mom's surprise 60th birthday party here today and it was an amazing evening!!! Food was delicious and really good portion sizes!! Service was brilliant, staff are so lovely.. We all had a wonderful time and Carlton the manager was lovely and very accommodating. And the cocktail lounge and bar upstairs is fantastic!! I would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone!!!!

Food was really nice I had curry mutton .I had asked for curry chicken but was brought this when asked about the change was told the chicken was finished 😒had to wait 20 mins for 3 slices of plantain .. option size for me was fine but others complained it was to small. Cocktails were nice and well priced ..restaurant was clean and presentable DJ was great help keep the energy up. All in all an good place and a ok experience.

Service very slow staff didn't seem bothered ordered drinks with staff 20 mins later she said I forgot when we was sitting so close to bar ask for salt and they said they had run out how can a restaurant run out of salt such a basic thing and when the restaurant is next door to a Tesco's food took so long to come out.

Such a shame to leave a bad review but I can't give anymore than 1star. To be honest, I'd give zero if I could and will never dine here again. Ever. Cut a long story short, we booked for our family member's 60th birthday and unfortunately the night became a shambles - from the VERY beginning. Nobody to show us to our tables, never mind to be greeted by anyone... when we eventually sat down (considering that not even half of the party have arrived yet) waiters were bringing out dishes for people that weren't even there...? Not one person even asking if the party was all present... Then, when the guests had arrived, the food just kind of stopped coming out and people were left without food for well over 2.5 hours - including my 4 year old lil nephew! Disgraceful really. Particularly when all of this food was pre-ordered! When asked what was happening, rather than the chef politely apologising or humbly explaining to his paying clientele when we can expect to be fed, he became antagonistic and started calling people "bway" and that we had "set him up" - how ludicrous?! Who goes to a restaurant for a 60th birthday, to deliberately not got fed for well over 2.5 hours, have some of the party have to sit the other side of the restaurant because the restaurant haven't accommodated for them, the birthday boy have to hitch up on the corner of one table because again, no seat available for him, have plates of chewed up bones and empty starter plates and tissues, stacked on tables looking desolate and uninviting just begging to be taken away, no utensils to eat your main meal (for those lucky enough to receive a dinner), no clue as to how drinks were to be ordered, have people so dismayed at not being fed nearly 3 hours later that they actually go to the local kfc! To then PAY full price without even a signof an apology...??? All because we wanted to "setup" the chef?!?! Genuinely, the food wasn't bad but it also wasn't great. To have the lack of any service in what is a self proclaimed "fine dining experience" I can wholeheartedly say, the worst service I've had at any restaurant ever. If it wasn't for someone's special birthday and not wanting to cause a scene, they would have received £0 from me or likely anyone else from the party.

As part of a birthday party ,who had to pre-book our meals one week in advance I am shocked at the very very poor service , I turned up at 8 o clock as planned and expected to be served in good time and to then go on upstairs to the cocktail bar to enjoy ourselves with a few drinks.As it turned out ,all guest, probably 40 people spent the whole night wondering,WHERE IS THE FOOD,some meals never materialised even by 12 o clock.The pumps on the bar were empty so ended up drinking what they had at the time, management were rude and unapologetic, This gathering was totally ruined by caribba, there was no party JUST WAITING FOR FOOD

This has to be THE worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant in my life! We visited for my dads 60th birthday and our party consisted of around 40 guests, we were asked to pre order our meals which wasn't a problem and because of this we expected a very smooth service from beginning to end but that couldn't be further from the truth. On arrival I noticed that there is no front of house to greet you at the door and to show us to our table so we had to find our table ourselves, not a massive problem but something I think the restaurant should address going forward. Some of our guests had called the restaurant prior to the night and asked to be added to the booking, the restaurant approved their requests clearly without checking whether they could actually accommodate them which resulted in some guests not having a table to sit on as they hadn't put out any extra seats for them. Those guests (including the birthday boy) had to stand up until a table was made available to them which was at the other end of the restaurant so were sitting so far away we couldn't even see them! As we had quite a large party, there were some guests who didn't arrive on time, but as we are waiting we notice that some of the starters are already coming to the table for guests who hadn't even arrived yet! At no point did a member of staff approach our party to check whether guests had arrived or even to let us know that the starters were about to be served so this caused some confusion and a lot of chaos. We chose not to make a fuss of this and those who were there began to eat their starters, I had the saltfish fritters which were mediocre to say the least, could possibly be the worst ones I have ever had, although they had a nice flavour, they were dry which suggested that they had been reheated and were not fresh and also very cold, served with a very sad looking, pointless "salad". The wait between starters and the mains seemed like an eternity which obviously caused some frustration. When my food finally arrived, I couldn't eat it straight away as they didn't bother to provide any new cutlery, in fact my dad had to eat his food with a SPOON. I ordered fried chicken which tasted nice and was hot so I was happy with my meal. I also ordered fried chicken and chips for my 4 year old son which still hadn't arrived by the time I finished my meal, I asked the waiter where his food was and I was told "I don't know", this certainly wasn't an acceptable response, I would have expected him to at least check for me. After a very long wait and a very hungry 4 year old, I decided to approach the owner/chef to ask where it was, he aggressively informed me that it was brought to the table and sent back, this was completely un-true and it seems as though he was trying to make excuses for the diabolical service that we had received up until this point. At no point during this exchange did he offer an apology for having a 4 year old wait til after 10pm to be fed, in fact quite the opposite, he blamed US for their short comings. He continued with his foul attitude and proceeded to tell my brother to "pipe down BOY" for calmly asking where our food was. His demeanour was completely unprofessional and to be met with such aggression was shocking. By this point, there were still a number of guests who still hadn't received their main meal and my Step-Mom was practically running the restaurant for them, standing by the bar with a list of everyone's orders, equipped with a highlighter and pen ticking orders off as they were coming out, which they clearly thought was acceptable. Some of our guests didn't get fed at all, in fact one of them left to go to KFC instead, came back and their food still hadn't arrived, what a joke! And to add insult to injury, there was no apology to our guests and no offer of a discount etc. for the disastrous experience we all had. We certainly will never return to this restaurant again.

I was looking forward to my first visit at Caribba, however, it fell at the first hurdle. Table reserved for 8 p.m. and considering the group all pre-ordered food, starters arrived after 9 p.m, were tasteless and bordering on cold. The mains started to arrive between 10.00 p.m. and 10.30 p.m. Some pre-orders never materialised? The owner was abusive to anyone who asked for food updates and blamed our party for his disorganisation! I am invited to another gathering at this venue but based on my experience will now reconsider making the effort. Disappointed and unprofessional establishment which I definitely do not recommend - minus zero stars.

I've been to a lot of restaurants in my life but this was by far the worst .As with reviewer Marilyn , my wife and I visited Caribba on 4th May and suffered a similar experience. I had been looking forward to trying the different dining experience offered at Caribba for some time as opposed to the usual curries and Italians and I can honestly say it was different but for the wrong reasons . Things started badly by them not being to trace our booking, however a table was found . We sat down , my chair was broken and in danger of collapsing , I had to wedge it against a pillar to be able to use it . Drinks order was taken , no draft Red Stripe only warm bottles! Ordered food , 1 hr later we were told that what we had ordered was not available , were then advised that several items were no longer on the menu that evening , amazing really considering the limited choice in the first place ! Ordered again , 15 minutes later told that this was not available either , ordered again, patience running low ! 5 minutes later we asked when we might get our food , advised 15 minutes and no apology ! At this point we said that we were going to cancel our order and leave , as we stood up the food arrived ? We sat down, however what was presented or thrown at us appeared to have been slopped on to the plates , was luke warm and by this point our appetites and trust had gone . We left . On reflection I feel that we were not welcome in this apology of a restaurant and this accounted for the offhand attitude ,appalling service and lack of attention .P.s unfortunately I couldn't give less than 1 star !

Thank you to Carlton and the team for making Linden’s birthday both memorable and enjoyable. Everything was on point. To top it all the food was excellent and succulent and plenty of it. Great atmosphere and very happy staff. Much appreciated !

I don't usually leave reviews whether good or bad. But I feel compelled to leave this review. I visited this restaurant on 4th May 2019. I have been dining out for many years. Never have I experienced service or lack of as I did last night. This is the 2nd time I have visited this restaurant. The first time the service was poor. Food bought out late, cold etc. Was reluctant to go again but it was a friends birthday so wanted to celebrate it with him..

Great place, food was very tasty, Red Stripe added to the experience.

I did a large party booking (60) & I have to give credit to the waiting staff who were courteous..professional & accommodating ..especially in respect of dietary requirements ....

The food is Excellent 💯👌😋👏and the staff displays lovely Customer service.Definitely the place to have your private parties or events as the ambience both upstairs & downstairs are very appealing!! 2Thumbs up to my fellow JA Owners👍👍🇯🇲- my family & I will return..

Went for a family birthday celebration. Food was nice and service was good.

This COULD be a great social melting pot. Lots of space and an upstairs lounge make it great for celebrations. I really want them to succeed as it could be fantastic. I wanted to give two stars but I think that they can turn this around. Pros The waiting staff were (mostly friendly if not a bit inexperienced) My fish was tasty They were accommodating when an extra 6 people turned up for our party Clean Vegetable soup was nice if not missing a bit of a kick but I assume this is for a mixed clientele Cons No hot sauce in the whole restaurant (it’s a Caribbean restaurant and it was a Saturday evening come on!) The escoveitch fish was actually brown stew fish. The coleslaw had sugar in it not great if you’re diabetic or trying to avoid it. They ran out of glasses in the bar (there were only 30 people by this stage) No ice ... and no one bothering to buy some in Tesco over the road In summary this place really needs to decide if it wants to be a high end restaurant or a mediocre sit in takeaway. £6.50 for a weak rum cocktail without ice isn’t what I’d expect to pay in Wolverhampton. I gave this feedback directly to the manager and she didn’t seem overly bothered.

This was my first visit to the restaurant with three of my Girlfriends. Food was out of this world I will visit again.

Was fairly busy,which had an impact on service.Took a long time to get our order(food and drink) placed.Wine was put on table in front of us,obviously self service and no tasting.No side plate supplied for fish bones,had to ask for replacement cutlery after our starter.Two out of 3 of us got our starter,but one of us was told they would have to wait 10 minutes while they fried more salt fish fritters so ended up having it as part of the main course.Far too many children in there(part of the large party).This all sounds very negative but on a positive the staff were very nice but everything was a bit slow.The food was ok,but a lot of it tasted a bit same.Has the potential to be great but not there yet. Upstairs cocktail area was very nice.

Excellent food and service. Curried mutton main was gorgeous. Staff were polite and attentive.
