I am currently writing this from the smoking area in Cargo. We have been here for 20 minutes and I have never felt such a dull atmosphere. We paid £20 for entrance- extortionate! There are two rooms, for ONE OF THE ROOMS there are no bags or jackets allowed, bear in mind my bag was checkedand I paid £20 to get in! Essentially to get in to that room you have to pay the cloakroom charge 😡 A single shot with a mixer is £11.50. SINGLE SHOT. Please do not waste you money. My full time job is now an advocater for anti-Cargo club. Let me remind you it was £20!! I was shocked. Many people have had phones and money stolen. STEAR CLEAR! Xx

This place is an absolute joke. Will never be returning. Security was terrible not searching anyone at all. And don’t get me started on the drinks paid £30 for two vodka lemonades that tasted like piss. Toilets were all blocked with no toilet roll.

Questa settimana ero a Londra e girovagando da sola volevo vedere gli angoli piu' curiosi, sconosciuti a molti in Shoreditch. Ero interessata alla wall street e soprattutto Bansky. Per cui mi reco da Cargo alle 8 p.m. per bere una cosa ( e magari anche mangiare se ci fosse la possibilita') e fare 2 foto. All'entrata in buttafuori di colore comincia minacciosamente a barrarmi l'ingresso adducendo che gli avevo fatto una foto e la dovevo cancellare : e cosi' ho fatto !...Ma avevo l'impostazione degli scatti sequenziali per cui una si e' salvata. Mi dice che non potevo entrare perche' ero da sola e quello era un posta da coppie ( voleva farmi fessa) . Che doveva chiedere il permesso al management . Poi mi fa tirar fuori il passaporto e lo scannerizza. Insomma mi fa una pantomima da 10 minuti per rompermi le scatole : ma io non demordo e sto al gioco , "sorridendo sotto i baffi " perche' volevo fare la foto al murales a tutti i costi . Ebbene entro: ero l'unica persona in quelle immense sale. Foto fatta e me ne esco mandandolo a quel paese. IO SPERO CHE LO LICENZINO PRESTO QUEL BELL'IMBUSTO A CUI PIACE FARE IL CRETINO CON LE DONNE E ABUSA DEL SUO POTERE DI SECURITY PENSANDO DI INTIMIDIRE I CLIENTI OCCASIONALI DI UN MARTEDI SERA piovoso SENZA NESSUN CLIENTE . INFATTI SE NON PER IL WKND : IL LOCALE E' VUOTO. La sera dopo ci va anche mia figlia giovane con amici stessa cosa il locale e' deserto : se questa e' l'accoglienza mi domando come sopravviva il locale visto che tutti ne parlano male . Caro buttafuori pensavi di essere furbo e farmi scema ? Sei ridicolo e non conti nulla !

for me, they may as well have just logged into my spotify and shuffled my playlist. music was excellent and perfect to dance to- there wasn’t one song i didn’t enjoy. I’d say it was pop/ RnB (2010 stuff onwards- perfect as it was the music i grew up with as a teen). My reason for it not being a 5 star is because of the price. i’m not from london so this could be why but i find £20 to get in on a saturday night extortionate- not to mention £30 for 2 double pink gin lemonades. like i said, i’m not from london so this may well be standard pricing- but it wouldn’t stop me from going again as a tourist treat kinda thing.

Wow. As you see from my other reviews i am not the type to leave bad reviews, but where do i start? Upon entry a man that knew the doormen made comments about me and my friend not smiling and to not let us in - to which they did not respond - just spoke under their breath to this guy. Get to the bar, ask the bartender what he recommends with spiced rum if i don’t fancy cola. The other bar staff loudly say ‘as if she is gonna ask you what she should drink’… Later, i lean against the stage (with no performance or wires), where i am abruptly told to move from as if it is made of solid gold. And last but definitely not least, me and my friend spot that i have been spiked, i ask the bar girl to take back my FULL untouched drink and replace it - to which she refuses. Do not go here. Such a great space but terrible atmosphere. Really negative energy. Also, considering it is in the middle of shorditch, it was empty. Will never go back to Cargo. Ever.

The music was really good to be fair, props to the DJ on that one, if it wasn't for that then i'd have to be a lot more harsh with this review, but when you're going clubbing, the main thing is the Music. It was a good vibe with recent and classic Hip Hop/Pop music. Entry was £30 on the night with no pre-booked ticket, very expensive in my book but i'm not from London. Drinks were around £14.50 each (vodka redbull) with double measures served as standard... Again, that's just shamelessly priced. They don't need to charge that much, but it is London The queue wasn't too long so that was okay, bouncers weren't absolutely horrid either which makes a nice change. Bar staff were a bit snobby and entitled. One seemed slightly offended that I asked how much a drink was, and replied "we have a menu"- it was on the wall in like 12pt font and was extremely easy to miss. Would I visit again? I wouldn't come to London specifically for this club, but if I was here and fancied going out, I'd consider coming here again, although I'd probablt try and pre-book to save money.

Coaxed inside by the desperate door staff then told you had to sit outside in what can only be described as a run down slum, there’s a sofa like area surrounded in flies and the level of dirt on the seats was disgusting. Asked the bar tender for a cider and was given a can of seltzer instead, way overpriced for a couple of cans to then sit in dirt. One member of staff was trying their best to sweep whilst others smoked and barked orders at him. Safe to say won’t be returning.

Absolutely shocking, me and 15others all had our phones stolen, security were horrific and the staff had no idea what they were doing. Definitely overpriced.

Absolutely awful. Booked tickets in advance for 24th July 2021. Got there an hour early at 10pm to get in at 11pm. Was removed out the queue and then told to join the back of another. After waiting for 2 hours, the club then told everyone to get out of the queue and leave. They closed the front door down and allowed no one in. So many people bought tickets and was rejected. No one at the door was telling us what was doing on and basically was treating us like animals outside.

Honestly the worst customer service of my life. Paid £400 for a table in the corner to be served cans of beer that took over an hour to arrive. Had to speak to about 5 different members of staff just to get some drinks. More bothered about security than actually serving drinks and food, like dining in Guantanamo bay

We had booked tickets for a clubbing event in July, which because of the latest Government announcement meant that it would unfortunatly not be going ahead... I have been emailing for nearly 2 weeks regarding a full refund and not once have I received any sort of response; I had to take my complaint directly to Design My Night who after some back and forth have refunded me. Not even Design My Night could get in contact with them, absolute scam company. AVOID.

Booked for the Euros, they changed the venue to some tiny bar and didn't offer a refund. Not worth your time or money.

I had the most awful experience at Cargo. AVOID at all costs. Me and a group of 6 others booked a table here 2 weeks before our booking in which we placed £140 deposit for the table. We specifically booked outside for 7x people. However, when we arrived, we were divided into two groups and seated inside. After speaking to numerous members of staff, all of which only one seemed to have any idea what was going on, we were eventually moved outside together. Once seated our drinks order was taken. 1 hour later, our drinks had not been served. (we chased the order up multiple times) We were then told by a member of staff that we couldn't sit together despite them approving of our booking 2 weeks prior. Nearly an hour and a half later, with no drinks and being told to split up, we decided to leave. We were told no refund could be given, (£140) and that we should contact them via email. A member of the party has since emailed three times with NO RESPONSE. The venue doesn't even deserve 1 star.

Where do I start. When we booked, the website insinuated that we could book tables of 8, like many other bars (in line with U.K. gov regulation), assuming we come from 2 different households. When we arrived, they tried to seat us at a table for 6, and a small table of stalls. We were then moved to two tables of 4, which sucks, because we wanted to socialise as a group. We spotted another group of 8 sat together, and we wondered why we weren’t allowed. So we asked the staff, and they went over and said something to the group of 8. The group of 8 then began calling us snakes. Considering we weren’t trying to cause trouble, how did they find out we pointed them out. Cargo should not pit customers against each other like that. This annoyed me, since we only wanted to sit as an 8 ourselves, and definitely not cause issues for anyone else. The bouncer was rude. The track and trace QR wasn’t working, so I asked if he had the other QR code that bars use for people who don’t have the app. He said “no mate, no bars have other QR codes, it’s NHS app or nothing”. This is a straight up lie. I stood there like a melon trying to fix my app, until I decided to just walk in around him. He didn’t even notice... So, we finally sat down, ready to drink. The waitress comes over and asks what we want. We ask “what pilsners do you have?”. To which she replies “what’s that?”. Okay fine. So we explain. She lists some brands, and we pick one, asking more about it. We said something like “so that’s a pilsner yeah?”, to which she replied “I think it’s a cider”. Honestly, how can you work anywhere that serves alcohol and not know the difference between beer and cider?? She then brought over some IPA... They serve drinks SO SLOW. We had hundreds of pounds down on our deposit, which you need to pay to make a reservation. They purposely take forever to rinse you of your deposit, so that you get kicked out before you can spend it all. My friend went up to ask why it was taking so long (since the place was fairly empty). The manager replied “why are you being a d**khead). That’s unacceptable behaviour from a manger. Stay away at all costs. Rude money grabbers with zero professionalism... The venue looks okay, and only one of the toilets was broken... so I guess there’s some benefits....

Spent over £600 for a few tables located at the front of the place, to watch England’s first game of the euros and was constantly harassed by the security / bouncers for singing songs (loudly) and for standing……. Whilst still conforming to the latest Covid...

Visité varias veces hasta ahora durante la pandemia COVID-19. Gran espacio al aire libre con asientos sociales a distancia y ofertas de cócteles. Dada la necesidad de cambio, el lugar ha adoptado el distanciamiento social con un eficaz sistema unidireccional y mesas espaciadas (con servicio de mesa). La gente de la puerta suele ser amable de todos modos, pero se aseguró de que la pista y el trazado se completaran correctamente con cortesía y mucho desinfectante de manos. Realmente agradable estar de vuelta en uno de los lugares geniales de Shoreditch. (Además, no hay 'entrada cara' en el mes). Defo lo recomiendo ya que están haciendo 2 cócteles por 10 (o 3 cervezas por 10) al mes con medidas muy generosas.

Recomiendo mucho no a este club. Iba a pasar la Nochevieja allí, la entrada era 20, les di una factura de 50 para pagar la entrada y la mujer no quería darme el resto, dijo que me había dado el cambio pero fue totalmente mal, así que me robaron, y todo el personal es malo del hígado, todos apoyan a la mujer que me roba. Y para más el lugar y el muy mal ambiente, no recomiendo este tipo de lugar si quieres pasar una buena noche. He estado en muy, muy buenos lugares en Londres, pero este es el WORSTT. Es una pena, espero que la mujer que me robó la pase bien con mi dinero.

Soirée réservé et payé 50 pounds par personne pour le nouvel an.Arrivé sur place, une longue queue nous attend. Une fois passé les videurs, on nous demande de repayer 70 pounds par personne en plus car nous avons dépassé de 20mn l'heure à laquelle on devait se présenter. On explique gentiment qu'on s'était bien présenté à l'heure et que la queue a duré au moins 45mn. Sauf que personne ne veut rien entendre, le personnel était débordé et nous a menacé de payer ou de partir. On a perdu 400 pounds et aucun endroit pour fêter le nouvel an.N'allez surtout pas dans ce club d'escroc. Une honte.

Went here on a night out. At the door the obscene price to get in was the first red flag. But after waiting for so long decided just to go in. Safe to say getting robbed at the door was probably the best part of the experience. Certainly will never be back.

Decided to go to CARGO as it has 2 original Banksy pieces inside and just have a good time on a Summer night out. The area is pretty cool with all the street art and the decoration is pretty cool - really liked the tiki bar.... BUT: Although I had ordered the tickets online in advance, we were asked to pay again after the initial bouncer check to be able to enter the actual dance floor. So we ended up spending 20 pounds on top of the already purchased tickets, just to get in. Once inside, it was super dark and I felt like in an MTV rap video and it was super crowded. We decided to go find the tiki bar for drinks and some air and were shocked by the prices 25 pounds for 1 beer and 1 cocktail is pretty steep. We were told there would be the option to get food at the place and skipped dinner for that reason. We ended up with the last scraps that were left over at 7 pm and had to pay quite a hefty sum for them too. So after basically spending a fortune for entry, a drink and a tiny bit of food, we wanted to see if we could go to the dancefloor at least. It was so crowded and you could barely move. People were pushing constantly and we gave up after a while. I think it was maybe 25 minutes but it still felt like forever. We ended up leaving really early, heavily disappointed. :( Apart from the cool decor and the fab Banksy pieces and cute tiki hut - I cannot recommend!

Este lugar es absolutamente horrible. El portero fue tan grosero. We went purely to view the Banksy wall art! In the courtyard. Stopped for a photo. Staff didn’t seem to mind! I guess outside of the opening hours you could still view it through the gates!

The place isn’t superb but it’s nowhere near as bad as most these other reviews make out.

The bar staff were very rude and arrogant - terrible service. It was also extremely overpriced. Pretentious hipster rubbish.

Half of the staff is rude, just want your money and you to clear out the way asap. We just felt like dirt when the cloakroom man threw back at my friend a jumper out of her coat, and said it's an extra £3 just for it. You pay £6.50 for a can of beer you can have £1 in Tesco. £20 minimum to pay card because they assume people will agree and take this fantastic opportunity to buy more. I'm not talking about the crowd, let's not even go there. It is very sad to see what this place has become: a money-driven club for sheep. Or at least we feelt monitored like animals.

Young crowd, toilets were horrible, sticky floors, everything i hate. The only thing i liked was the good music and open space! Drinks are way too expensive, £27 for 2 drinks!!! Will go somewhere else next time were in London.

Came here for New Years eve and paid £50.00 to get in. On entry there was a bucket of yellow water, completely ignored this until I went upstairs to use the ladies toilets and they were all blocked and there was a layer of urine and faeces floating around.

Perfect way to start the 2019, because it can only get better from here.

I am still a fan of this venue - there is just something about it I like But I cannot look past the high prices and worse yet - the toilets. They have to be seen to believe how bad they are!

Mis amigos y yo fuimos aquí el sábado, dos de cada tres de nosotros nos robaron nuestros teléfonos. No estábamos borrachos ya que el precio de las bebidas era exorbitante. Mi teléfono estaba en una bolsa cruzada con cremallera. Fuimos a la pista de baile que estaba abarrotada y asumimos que fueron robados. No solo había muchos bolsillos, pero me avergüenza decir que había tantos pervertidos. Varias personas nos buscaron a tientas en las zonas íntimas, cuando les dijimos a estos hombres que se retiraran y nos encontramos con respuestas como "no salgas a bailar". Personalmente, salgo a bailar un par de veces al año para socializar con amigos que no veo a menudo y no espero ser acosado sexualmente y ser víctima de un crimen. Cuando les contamos a los bouncers sobre nuestros teléfonos, ¡dijeron que sucedía todas las semanas! ¡Me sorprendió que supieran que estaba sucediendo y no había avisos que avisaran a las personas! Nos fuimos poco después de descubrir que nuestros teléfonos fueron robados después de preguntar en el bar y la recepción. One of the worse places I have been to. The Stuff are a complete rip off. Charging £58 for four drinks and when you complain, they say they kick us out. I WOULD NEVER GO THERE AGAIN. RIP OFF

If I could give 0 stars I would. Worst night out ever. Waited 40 minutes in a stupidly long line to get in. If you’re pretty, bouncers will pill you to the front of the line and let you in first. One of my friends tried to walk into the live room with a coat on and a security guard grabbed her by the neck and yelled that no coats were allowed in. How was she supposed to know that? Overpriced drinks with a £20 minimum on a card. In the bathroom, a girl had been drugged and her friend was trying to help her. The attendant screamed out both of them to get out, making the nearly unconscious girl teeter back down the stairs. Overall, worst experience I’ve ever had. Do not waste your money and time. I’m so angry I wasted my Saturday night here.

Paid 20Pound for a ticket, to wait in a huge line, to get then get yelled at by security, bar staff rude, drinks overpriced at 40Pound for 2 beers and 2 vodkas. Don't bother.

A few of my friends had bought early bird tickets to the Halloween night at Cargo. When we got there, we were told our friend had a ticket 'already scanned in' . obviously there was some sort of mistake but the bouncer wouldn't give us five min to explain. They shoved the rest of us in the club (While telling us if we step past the entrance we're not getting in again, and our friend had to go home.

Looked on the website a few days beforehand and Pre-booked tickets for me and my friends at £5.00 each, as it said the charges on the door would be higher. When we arrived, it turns out it was free entry anyway before 10.00pm even though we had already paid the £5.00 each (and still had to arrive before 9.30pm for this). Staff on the door were SO rude. We were told to go stright in but after going through security the girl on the front desk told us to go back out and retrieve a wristband. So was pushed and shoved about. Music was generic chart rubbish. Also, it cost £42 for three double vodka cranberries in plastic cups with tons of ice! Was also stopped from going into the main club part by security because my bag was “too big”, even though I had it searched upon entry. I used to go here a lot when I was younger, but now I know I will NEVER go back. What an absolute scam.

My friend organised a table and put £200 down in advance for the area and some wine vodka and a few mixers. When we arrived the table and area was not prepared and security staff got extremley rude with us telling us to move away when we just wanted to ask who to see about our table.

i paid £12 for a ticket so was expecting a good night out. bar menu advertised a bottle of wine for £15.50 and when i asked for it they tried to charge me £28. i then asked for a pint and they gave me a can of cors light for £6.50. the most overpriced and disappointing experience i’ve ever had, i’ll never come here again.

Went for a freshers ‘rave’ at as a first year undergrad, only £8 for a ticket which is really cheap! But got there and found out drinks were so expensive !!! Asked the bar staff how much a double g&t; was, they told me £13.50 which is obscene in my opinion! My friend bought a 440ml can coors light for 6.50! If you’re a student don’t bother it’s too much money for a night out. Great place and location but such a rip off! Won’t be going back

I Came here in friday with 20 work mates booked a table very hassle free.We had an amazing night and found prices very reasonable. Would definitely go back. Can’t remember how I got home though.

Very disappointed! Firstly got charged £20 for entry despite it advertising free entry. Drinks are a rip off, got quoted £21 for two drinks by a bar tender, only to then get charged £29! Bar staff were rude. Additionally there is a minimum card charge of £20.

This place is a joke. I know it’s london and you expect to pay premium for drinks but come on. Two double vodka lemonades for £27 I had a mini heart attack when she told me. Couldn’t help but laugh. It really just isn’t worth the price. Don’t go.

This place is utter crap and a complete rip off ! My wife and I paid £30 entrance fee then £22 for 2 rum and cokes which would be ok if the place didn't stink and feel filthy. Doorman wouldn't allow you in one area if you had a coat over your arm but put it on and you're allowed through ?? mental! we were in there all of 30 minutes there's got to be loads better places than this , avoid at all costs !

This place has so much potential! Prime location in the heart of Shoreditch and a great space! Unfortunately, it's being managed by a group of incompetents who are quite frankly, killing off Cargo. So disappointing.

Have partied here & also hosted parties and safe to say myself or my friends will never be coming here again. not sure if the management are aware of all the far better venues being closed down in Shoreditch. Something seriously will need to change for it to survive. Horridly expensive drinks - singles £10/doubles £13; was also told you can get £175 worth of alcohol for £40 (this turned out to be one bottle of Rum as they said this was of same value!). Sound restricted outside so only allowed indoors (through door can't be opened from DJ room to terrace so it's out or in). Lack of lighting & aircon indoors means it just gets stifling, whilst outside people are left to essentially sit around. Venue has a lot of potential but quite frankly not the hotspot anymore.

£10.50 for single and mixer and it's the tiniest drink in the world. £7 a shot. Place has never been cleaned.

So my work colleagues and I went to Cargo twice in June for leaving parties but the first time we went we didn’t book our tickets online. Huge mistake because we paid £20 on the door before 10pm (which was pricey for Shoreditch) but we had a really good time which is why we chose it again for the second leave party.

Despite claiming to be accessible I had to be lifted in due chair as no ramp at the front. Part of the group was initially refused entry despite having tickets. One of the bouncers was helpful but the others clearly need an attitude adjustment and are way too aggressive. Had one step on my ankle ( despite being in my chair) when he was charging to a suspected ruckus. Not allowed in the main room with any kind of jacket, big or small or even a handbag that is bigger than a purse. Only problem with that is cloakroom is outside and that night it was pouring with rain and a very long queue without adequate shelter. The area from the main entrance was cold because the back doors were constantly open and sound quality from speakers in there was poor. Drinks are way overpriced. Would never go there again.

Make sure you pay attention to bad reviews. The good reviews probably written by staff working there . Awful over priced. £13 for double drink. And every time I go order I was giving different price . I got the ticket online for bank holidays as I was told it's £20 at the door to get in , it says they close at 6 am it's all lies they closed at 1am. It's like old cave/ tunnel so scary & dirty . It's full of young kids pushing around jumping & they pushed me over to the floor . I hated every minute being there . Don't waste your time & money . Toilets were so so dirty , no body bothered cleaning ,they didn't even bother opening the cloakroom. None of the staff were friendly & everyone of them kept saying they only covering for the night & it's their first time . No body knew where the cloakroom was & I had to look around for it to find out it was closed . If u want to be pushed over and stepped on go there . Invest your time & money going somewhere else. My living area is bigger than their small dance floor . It says 3 dancefloor & free shot on arrival . It's all lies just to sell tickets online. I had to queue even having a ticket with people whom got no tickets ! Not happy & wish I stayed home & watched tv instead . AVOID AVOID AVOID!!

En primer lugar, este es ridículamente caro para lo que es, nos cobraron 15 libras para llegar en 1:00 escuchamos gente pagando £25 para entrar a pesar de estar muy por capacidad. No se podía mover en pulgadas por dentro y si tienes la manera que empujaron y empujado por los de seguridad, que eran agresivos y groseros. Went there for the second time and it was even worse than the first. Same security shouting at customers, pushing people around just horrible experience. I don’t know how this place still running being such horrible to customers and charging £13 for a drink. DO NOT GO THERE.

Uno de los empleados estaba literalmente fuera de acosar a gente que ya compraron entradas, así que podrían dejar que más personas y más dinero. La tenían porteros eran simplemente grosero. I came here last summer when my friend was djing here at an all day party, the music was great, they had different styles in each room and dj's outside too. they had bbq which was very nice and they also had the football on some large screens. drinks were quite expensive but i had a really good time.
