Cardross Inn in Argyll & Bute

A very nice little inn with charm. The rooms are renovated and functional. There's a restaurant on site that I highly recommend. Breakfast is typically Scottish and served à la carte. Very friendly service.

Stopped for a night on route to the Hebrides, a wonderful dog friendly pub. Great service and location, the room felt incredibly clean and tastefully decorated, as did the restaurant/bar area. After staying in numerous “dog friendly” hotels and pubs, who allow a dog in the room, but not in the bar or restaurant, it was refreshing to stay somewhere so accommodating and easy, where having a dog with you was no issue at all. I would thoroughly recommend staying here.

Stopped here for a bite to eat with my partner on our way home yesterday. I ordered Macaroni Cheese and It was the best macaroni cheese I have ever tasted apart from my son-in- law’s ( I have to say that in case he reads this 😁) will definitely be making a return visit 🍴🍴

Great stopover on the way up to loch Lomond, staff were fantastic and food was lovely.

A lovely dinner for two, fresh battered haddock and chips and mussels in a delicious creamy white wine sauce. Friendly service and very reasonable price. We will be back!

We just used the bar. The young lady who served us was very friendly and professional. There's a nice beer garden.

We went for lunch. We had to wait 15 minutes but the server explained that to us before we sat down so it was OK. Lunch was lovely we will return.

This place is great, mainly because the food was better than it had a right to be. More than pub grub, thoughtfully presented. Every member of staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Have had 6 or 7 vegetarian breakfasts this trip and this was the best one.

Friendly staff, cosy and comfortable rooms, superb quality breakfast and dinners, REAL cocktails made from scratch ... beautiful, recommended!

Didn't really sleep well in this hotel, very average bedding, room without very little charm for a hotel establishment. This stopover was rather depressing (the only merit, their restaurant where you eat correctly and the kindness of the staff)...

Locally sourced food, polite staff.......just needs to be more consistent with the food produced.

Stopped on our way back home for lunch. Deceiving from the outside, this pub is lovely inside. Kids really enjoyed the board games available to borrow. Food was delicious and service was attentive and caring. Highly recommend the fish and chips, the steak pie and the beef Sunday roast. For kids menu, portion are very generous so can work up to probably 12 years old.

Can't comment on the accommodation side but I had a fantastic lunch the staff were extremely friendly they have little games socialisation away from phones was encouraged.I had mac and cheese with black pudding and it's probably one of the best I've tasted I will definitely come back here.The music was brilliant to just such a Vibe.

Everything was great, very warm and welcoming staff, very cozy room. Excellent meal and breakfast. Good value for money.

We went to have a dinner here so I can't really speak for anything other than the meal. I had the mac and cheese and it was fantastic. Also if you want to try tablet this is the place to do it. It is made locally by a woman in the town and when I tell you I am scottish and it is the best tablet I've ever had, believe me!!

Stopped for lunch today, went inside to see if it was ok to have a dog in the beer garden which it was. Sat waiting for 10 mins for someone to see us gave up and went inside saw someone sitting at a table in what I presume is a conservatory at the front of the bar, thought it was a customer but after waiting another 10 mins she got up and came inside gave me a menu which is obviously a dinner menu no sandwiches or anything, shame because I've seen good reviews left and went elsewhere service awful seems like 1 menu for all day won't be back

Room was spacious but bed was not good. Mattress had no give & hard which made sleeping difficult. They have to get a better bed to improve overall experience. Also no PowerPoint in bathroom which was poor !

Great food, ambience and service. Also good kids menu and dog friendly. I've seen it drastically improve in the 12 years I've lived in the village. Well worth a visit and great pub too.

Good food excellent value and nice staff

The service here was great. Quick and friendly despite being busy. It's also dog friendly which is a big plus. It's a warm and welcoming atmosphere too, feels like a nice country pub. It's let down a bit by its food though. We've eaten here 3 times now and on each occasion the food has been underwhelming to say the least. I'd say the food in Wetherspoons is slightly better at a fraction of the cost. That is not to say that i'm a big fan of Wetherspoons, just that it is a good comparison for this pub. For context it is £17.45 for a standard beef burger with cheese and fries. For nearly £18 I expect something better than average but I got a burger that couldn't have been more standard. Again not bad. But not good. Previously I have had a roast, and the other dish escapes me. The roast was similarly underwhelming. Small portion. Not much veg, nothing special. I feel like this could be a great gastro pub but they either need to lower their prices to match the quality of the food or raise the bar with their food to match their prices. In sum, great service, great vibe, and bag average food at an above average price.

Pleasantly surprised. Food was really good and not over priced. A bit noisy as there was a football match on TV and lads in the bar were enjoying themselves. All said I will be back just not when football is on

Had a lovely meal and the service was very friendly and helpful. Good balanced menu and the Korean dishes were particularly nice. Will definitely visit again

Soup undercooked, bland risotto made for patients with gastric bypass. No apathy from waitress, insisted that they charge full price. There's a reason this place is empty on a Saturday. Won't be back.

Went here for lunch going by there menu they haven't updated it not everyone wants a steak for there lunch
