I can confirm that the food & service there now is as good as it always was. Thanks my brothers. ;-) I couldn't believe when I drove past on Saturday that the place was closed. Was going to pop in on way back past for a takeaway. Not been there for a while due to relocation of home, but was craving one of their lovely chicken tikka madras' meals like crazy! Hope they open again soon, as it's on what will now be a regular route home from new job from next month.

Ate here last night with two local friends. The restaurant had been closed for probably six months, and reopened last Monday. It was like we had never been away… service great, great atmosphere (they were packed to the rafters!) and the food was just stonkingly good! Loved my slightly extra hot lamb Pathia!

We were so pleased to hear the news about the Cardamom reopening. This is a wonderful restaurant with a great balance on the menu and always a warm welcome from Jelal , Helal Bilal and the team. We are looking forward to seeing you again soon!

Gutted it’s closed. This is truly the best Indian take away in Harborne. We miss our garlic chicken!!

Had a great experience again tonight as always. This is definitely one of the best Indian restaurants I have been to ! The staff are super friendly and really efficient! The food is just lovely and I can’t recommend this restaurant enough for special occasions or after a hard day at work! Food is amazing!

Good quality food at reasonable prices

Whether for take-away or eating in, this is the best Indian restaurant in the area, hands down. It's a little more expensive, but worth it. It has a number of less common offerings, and the food is reliably delicious.

Saturday night service very slow. An age for the starters to come & then they missed a sharing platter without realising. The mains were of VGOOD taste & quality. Shame that the wait disappointed the evening.

Went here last night with 5 friends, whom we haven't seen for ages - service was a little slow (they weren't that busy), but the food was superb and well worth waiting for! The staff are always at pains to see that their diners have a great meal. My main course wasn't that hot (temperature), so I mentioned it to one of the waiters and he quickly had it heated up again (that was all I wanted!) and it was just delicious! And we have just discovered that we can have a main course size dish of their lovely cauliflower bhaji, so we ask for cauliflower only - and it's absolutely lovely! And all our friends enjoyed their respective meal choices too! thanks for another great dining experience, Cardamom!

Wholeheartedly recommend. Lamb is beautifully tender, ingredients obviously fresh, quite a few original dishes on the menu, deliveries are always prompt, prices very reasonable and food always piping hot. A real treat.

This is a very small restaurant but there is always a nice atmosphere and warm welcome. Indian food isn't really my thing but the variety of dishes here would suit anyone (they also do a few European options for the faint-hearted). Lovely rose wine, perfectly chilled and the food is always excellent. The portions are really generous too and this place is excellent value for money. I always look forward to eating here.

I have made better at home.I get the feeling the portions are mean and that the Cardamom is trying to recover losses through C-19 ''ain't happening'' Will not be ordering ever again or sitting in!

Love this place great for a night out, bring your own drink makes it much cheaper than normal, really nice curry and naan.

It was slow and expensive. But it was open unlike the Bangla with whom we had booked!!!!

As nice as the food was when it finally arrived, the servive is truly awful. The food was ordered at 6:25 but didn't arrive until 9:05, we phoned the restaurant several time's only to be fed lies and false promises. One being that they were struggling with road works, bareing in mind we ordered on a Saturday evening and live around a mile away. We're long term customer's who will sadly be feasting elsewhere.

Good straight forward curry. Old school style curry. No pretentious dishes but some curious ones like the Orange Prawn Jingha. Tikka Massala always good.

This is exceptionally good food with high quality ingredients cooked at 5 star levels, for a take away. Had exactly the same this week as last week as the food was so good; all delivered very hot and delicious! Would fully recommend Cardamom.

Had a takeaway from here tonight.... wish i hadnt... the lamb chops were dry, chicken tikka starter was also dry, poppadoms wwre stale ....garlic naan ..well may aswell have been a plain naan... curry was tasteless. Called them to tell them an they couldnt have been less interested , shoild have gona to macdonalds instead. I wont be using here again.

Very poor food. Curry tasted like it was left overs mixed in sauce. Naan was sweet? Sizzler meat tough to chew. Why have they gone so bad. 2 years ago was amazing. Avoid here, plenty of other places.

Ordered a takeaway from Cardamom with estimated delivery an hour and a half. Once it hadnt arrived we called up, they struggled to find the order. After chasing every 20mins the order finally arrived 2hrs 30mins after placing the order. Avoid takeaway orders from Cardamom.

No idea why they have a 5star health review. My lamb chops had a hair in and the currys were swimming in oil. Told the waiter and he just looked really confused. Were hairs part of the ingredients?? Wont dine here again. Disgusting

Had a lovely meal here again last night ,8 of us ,2 seperate tables , hand gel as you walk in food as always was lovely,waiting staff friendly ,service was great.

Been a while since I last came here, but hasn't failed to impress, food was fantastic, the refurbishment was really nice, staff were friendly, couldn't fault it at all!!!!

I wasn't so sure with the bright red colour of the prawn curry. It sadly didn't impress the taste buds - tasted like food colouring. I tried to pick out the prawns, but it wasn't happening! The other curry was okay and the nan was very soft, it was nice that it didn't harden up whilst eating. The restaurant seems like it's got super reviews and I'm sure many approve. Unfortunately, for an India to enjoy and indian takeaway is so tricky! :) 4/5 for service, prompt delivery - not the prawn curry. Sorry!

Since lockdown we've had our weekly takeaway from Cardamom via Uber Eats and the quality is amazing! On a rare night out with my son he decided he wanted to eat in at the fab takeaway we use and they didn't disappoint. Great service, amazing superb quality food and local. Highly recommended.

Used this for the first time Saturday through uber eats. Not a problem with delivery but this was the worst chicken tikka masala that I have ever tastes. Was so bland, absolutely no flavour. A shop bought one is better. My partner had the passanda. He put his in the bin after a couple of mouthfuls. Never again

Absolutely beautiful food, cannot fault. But they need to stop using Uber eats. Only issue is with Uber eats NOT the restaurant. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough. Would be 5 stars all day long if it wasn’t for Uber eats.

Excellent quality. The food ordered on Uber came on time and tasted delicious. It the best curry I’ve had in ages. Very flavoursome. Will definitely use Cardamon again.

As a family we have enjoyed Cardamom food more than any other Indian in Harborne . The food is outstanding and always arrives like it's just cooked, hot, fresh and quality food every time. Thank you 😊

Wow! Had a takeaway and it was amazing. So hot when it arrived and the flavours were amazing. I find Indian takeaways a bit hit and miss but this was the best I’ve had.

New to the area and most locals seem to recommend this place. Nice curries although not the best I’ve had. Will try the other places on the High St before coming back.

Had another fantastic meal here last night with my partner, we were here last week and couldn't believe what a discovery this place is. I've been to India many times and this is very close to the quality of real Indian food and I urge people to check it out. It's a shame that it doesn't occupy a better position on the high street as i am sure that it gets overlooked. Prawn puri is an absolute delight. And now Boris Johnson is shutting down the whole country!! Try their takeaway.

Ate here last night with two friends who had never been here before. It was as delicious as ever - I had my usual (lamb pathia) which seemed a little spicier than usual, but it was delish. Shared an onion naan with my husband, that was delicious too. Our friends really enjoyed their chosen dishes too, and will definitely be back. Service always very friendly and we were delighted to see that it was busy (Saturday evening), even in the light of the corona virus thing! Love it here!

Always driven past this restaurant and thought that it was out if the way of the foot traffic and hence empty... it's a shame because the food is really good. Shine if the best which we have tried. Please give it a go!!!

This place is like a hidden gem. You’ll drive past it and not notice it’s there. The curry I had was one of the best in a long long time. Service was great. Not rushed and very relaxed. Well recommended!

We live in Cornwall but have family in harbourn. Whenever we come up to visit we always make sure we visit. We expect a better curry in brum as to down here where you cannot for any amount of money get a decent Indian. The staff are attentive and alway remember us. Including what we like to order. The food is second to none authentic Indian cuisine. It's always a highlight of our stay. Could not recommend enough. And extremely good value for money.

Went here last Friday evening, as a group of 6 friends. The restaurant was very busy already, including us 6 and a party of girls (with one male friend!). Service was a bit on the slow side, but it looked as though they only had one guy waiting at table for the whole restaurant, and the kitchen were also doing lots of takeaway orders, which were going out all the time we were there. Usual wonderful food, I had my usual, Lamb Pathia, which was just lovely with light and fluffy naans. We also had a chickpea and spinach side dish which they do beautifully! Love it because it's not sloppy, nice and dry and you can taste all the ingredients! All our friends loved their own choices of meals, and they will definitely be eating there again (I should add that it was a first time for all four of them!) And they were all shocked that the bill came to only £15 a head! And we can bring our own wine!

Went for a meal at the weekend in the evening. Waiters were friendly, but took a long time to clear plates even though there weren't many tables, this lead to my starters being luke warm, after my poppadums, as they came immediately after the poppadums were cleared. Can get a bit loud and hard to conversate. Mains were decent, tried some mince lamb, some chicken, and a vegetarian dish, weren't amazing but was okay. Can become a bit cramped, but not anyone's fault the size isn't big enough to do anything about. Would I recommend, after visiting many other restaurants, at similar price range but better food, probably not.

It's very small, but with a relaxed atmosphere. The two waiters were pleasant & attentive. It's licensed but they are amenable to you bringing your own drinks. Now to the food, I can only comment on certain dishes, we shared a mixed platter starter then I had a special Balti & my with had a Patia. All were plentiful & extremely tasty, as was then Naan. In conclusion, we intend to return whenever we can

Las salsas de curry no sabían caseras. Degustación espesa de sabor artificial (como la que se obtiene de un frasco de supermercado), sin trozos de cebolla / pimiento, etc., que hubiera esperado, y una cantidad muy miserable de carne. Simplemente no sabía auténtico. Naan estaba bien sin embargo.

Primero visitamos Cardamom en octubre y hemos vuelto con frecuencia desde entonces. Cada vez que la comida ha sido fantástica, he probado varios platos. El servicio también es siempre excelente y, recientemente, cuando llegamos un sábado por la noche sin reserva, pudimos esperar en las cómodas sillas en la parte delantera del restaurante una mesa para convertirse en una mesa libre, en lugar de salir y regresar. Acabo de estar aquí para cenar con un amigo visitante. Estaba bastante ocupado para un lunes por la noche, y la comida era absolutamente maravillosa, estaban en plena forma. Encantadores pappadums crujientes y secos, el naan era encantador, esponjoso y crujiente por los bordes (¡tal como nos gustan!) Y todos nuestros curries y guarniciones elegidos eran para morirse! Y a 48 para 3 personas: dos entrantes, tres curries, dos guarniciones, pappadums, uno naan y un plato de arroz, ¡fue un valor maravilloso! Estaban realmente en plena forma, ¡y mucho mejor que la casa de curry a la que fuimos el viernes pasado en el "cinturón balti"! Bien hecho cardamomo, fue genial!

Regular visitor, quality is consistently great. Staff couldn’t be friendlier. The negative reviews here are confusing, as I’ve never had a bad experience. The paneer kofta is my go to dish, the vegetarian options are great.

Really loved the place me and my family met in a local pub then went to a another place which normally wasn't busy but it was my brother suggested let's go to cardamom fantastic service really nice people & staff food brilliant can not fault the place definitely recommend this place

So we visit this fine establishment on a weekly basis and the food and the service is always excellent. We always have the same meals which are presented beautifully and taste fantastic

Best curry on the high street served by attentive staff and a great atmosphere. Give it a try, you will not be disappointed. Licensed and also bring your wine is a plus too

He querido probar el cardamomo por un tiempo ya que vivimos cerca. Cenamos el sábado y definitivamente volveremos! Es un espacio pequeño pero no excesivamente ruidoso incluso en una noche de sábado. La comida era deliciosa ya un precio muy razonable, con un menú bastante amplio para un restaurante tan pequeño. El personal era amable y atento y el servicio era excelente. Creo que puedes hacer BYOB ya que varias mesas estaban haciendo esto, pero también hay una buena selección de bebidas y tuvimos una muy buena botella de vino.

Ordered a salmon tikka. It arrived with 7 small cubes of salmon in the entire curry! Had to look twice! Come here a lot......Usually great value. Not at all impressed on my last visit. Service not as good either. Going downhill I fear.

I visited last night and had a fabulous curry. We ordered a chicken and lamb balti and a chicken and prawn tikka masala (hot) and both were lovely. Piping hot and fresh Naan bread with gorgeous mushroom friend rice.

Good ambience, friendly staff, excellent location. Clean and tidy. Very courteous attentive staff. Lack of vegetarian food was a bit of a downer (had to consolidate with sides - in which there is plenty of choice). Food was OK, well presented but could be spicier/saltier.

Very poor food. Chicken tikka was tasteless, dry and reheated. Pilau rice was stuck together in large unbreakable pieces. Overall very disappointing food and will not be visiting again or recommending.
