Great interior, great food, great service - deserves to be busier!!

Great food and service, all the meats were really tasty, tender and served hot. Great value considering the variety and all you can eat. Wine was really good value too.

Fabulous food. The meats are amazing, and the salad bar is great, too. Highly recommended. Just make sure you're really hungry when you go, so you have room for everything!

The Caramba is an absolutely amazing place and it is great to experience such lovely service. The food is usually fresh and delivered to you on sticks. This is a fantastic place to go, so go to Caramba. 🤘😝🤘/ 10

Lovely place! Food was excellent. All meats very tender and tasty. Offered at the end of the meat selection of any we wanted to try again . Went back to the salad area. It surpassed our expectations.

Really enjoyed our meal here. All cooked perfectly and well seasoned. Good choice of buffet. Attentive service. Nicely decorated inside. Update from August 2024. Unfortunately, not a good one. Service was really good but the meats were terrible. There wasn't one that we loved. Was eating for the sake of it. A lot of the meats were dry, especially the gammon (pictured). The sirloin looked like it had been boiled. The cap of rump was questionable. I'm not sure it was picanha or just normal rump or another cut that had been forced into the traditional circular type shape on the skewer to make it look like cap of rump. It tasted and felt like beef you would get in a roast dinner. The garlic mushrooms were thick and claggy like they had been attempted to be reheated but didn't quite get warm enough so stayed all conjealed. You needed them as a lubricant though, just to be able to get some of the meat down. The coleslaw tasted off. Things that were OK (not great but better than the rest) were the lamb and pork. The chips were nice 😂 Given how nice it was the first time we went, I'm hoping it was just an off day but I'm really reluctant to try it again in case in has just gone massively downhill. Re rated as a 3 star to reflect that 1st visit was a 5 star and 2nd visit was a 1 star.

Very helpful and friendly staff can’t do enough for you. Lots of choice and fantastic cuts of meat. Staff attentive but not overbearing Unhappy that they now add service charge to bill we have always left a tip but didn’t feel it should be told to us what amount and this definitely makes us go less often

Amazing food with friendly staff! Would recommend!

First time at this amazing Steakhouse and I was very pleased with the quality and quantity of food you got. I would recommend this place to anyone who loves meat however they do also vegetarian options . Looking forward to my return visit next time I'm in the area

I’m afraid to say that these guys have got financially greedy, putting their prices up whilst adding service charges. It’s Selby not a Tourist or affluent city like your other restaurant at York, you need to accommodate your population and meet the neighbourhood needs. Food and service okay but not worth the cost.

This is my first negative review on Google. It never feels justified to leave negative reviews but for this experience I will. To start we have been regulars to caramaba over the years. It seems it must have changed hands or have a new team as the experience really let it down. Sat for 1 hour and 20mins inside on a 28 degree day and the restaurant was warmer than the outside even with fans. During the hour plus stay we were only served half of the expected meats and was regularly missed by the waiters when going around. We did get offered chicken wrapped I'm bacon 3 times, much to our disappointment. The service was poor. We had to ask for the chips that come with the meal. It was confirmed on leaving that they had not planned for anyone in, due to the warm weather, which gives light to the lack of meat going around and rationing to each table. The meats that did go around lacked any of the usual flavours. We ended up leaving without getting all the meats that should come with the meal. The hostess apologised and did do 20% discount, but on £60 for two dinner plus soft drinks getting to £80+ this didn't even feel enough of a discount. The prices seem way to high for the service and quality once expected. Unfortunately we won't return and I'm afraid to advice others not to go. Other all you can eat meat places offer the same price for a better experience.

This is a local restaurant for us, but sadly I would not return. It was our first visit and I love the concept of the meat being brought to the table, but it was so salty it killed the flavour in the meats and made it so you couldn't possibly eat any more than a few mouthfuls as the salt was over bearing. I am the type of person that puts salt on everything and this was too much even for me. If it wasn't for the over salted meat I would have given a three or four and would have returned as a 'every few months' visit. We eat out several times a week and have tried most of the restaurants in the area, but sadly this is bottom of the list. Sorry guys! The staff was lovely, just take the salt pot off the chef!

Absolutely rubbish I would never go again waste of money

Went to Caramba Selby for my birthday with my family. Had a lovely time, salad bar had a great selection, meat was tasty and plentiful. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Would recommend and will be returning.

My son took me here to surprise me for my birthday. I didn’t have the heart to tell him I had been recently and it was terrible. However the owner was cooking this time and everything was cooked to perfection. They even brought me some chocolate fudge cake for my birthday which was beautiful. It is such a shame it is so hit and miss, I vowed never to return, now I can’t wait to go back. Thank you for giving me a lovely birthday meal.

I've just been again today for my dad's birthday. And as always, it was an absolutely fantastic experience As always, grate food grate staff and grate atmosphere I absolutely love this place. I would highly recommend it to anybody

My partner and I visited Caramaba Brazilian Steakhouse on a Sunday, attracted by the promise of a diverse salad bar and a variety of freshly prepared buffet meats. The restaurant ambiance was inviting, and we appreciated the intimate experience of being the only ones there - a strong highlight being the spiced pineapple 🍍 The salad bar did not disappoint, offering an array of options including cheesy mash, garlic bread, pasta, various vegetables, and nachos. It was a great start to our dining experience, and we were looking forward to sampling the buffet meats. However, our excitement waned when we encountered an issue with the preparation of the meats. Despite my partner's preference for well-done meat, I had expressed a desire for medium-rare, trusting the chef's recommendations. Unfortunately, both times my meat arrived, it was well done, contrary to my request. I brought this to the attention of the staff, hoping for a correction. Regrettably, even after requesting a second serving cooked to medium-rare, the meat still arrived well done. This inconsistency was disappointing and detracted from an otherwise enjoyable meal. In conclusion, while Caramaba Brazilian Steakhouse offers a pleasant atmosphere and a varied selection of salad bar items and buffet meats, the inability to fulfill specific cooking preferences was a notable downside. Improved attention to customer requests and consistency in food preparation would greatly enhance the overall dining experience.

We've eaten here on multiple occasions and always enjoyed the experience. However I was disappointed with my recent visit and will not be returning. We were a party of 2 and was a spontaneous walk in. We were told we could be accommodated. The service was poor we did not get offered the full menu. We were also left for over 30 minutes without being offered anymore food. I had to ask for menu items we has not sampled. We were not offered any further drinks either. I left the restaurant feeling that we were not valued customers as the staff seemed to be focusing on the table of 12 at the other end of the restaurant. The food was decent but not as good as previous visits.

First ever visit great venue, great staff and even better food. With a party of 6 people and a 10% service charge was added (this is optional to accept) but paid it anyway. Will book again and I highly recommend this restaurant.

Me and my husband go here atleast once a month,we absolutely love it and couldn't recommend a better place to eat, the food is to die for ,the service is fantastic,toilets clean and we always end up stuffed, the price is great also, the only thing I'd say was the service charge needs removing as people will feel like they can't say they don't want to pay it as they will feel embarrassed and mean for not doing, other places have the choice on the card machine so people have a choice in private. It just kinda feels like your forced to pay it and due to cost of living especially it's a hard as people can't afford it, other than that the place is my favourite place now and I look forward to all my visits x

Brilliant place, great food, great service, great experience.

It's a nice place with a good selection of food, unfortunately I didn't like the over powering taste of mint on the majority of meats and many of the steaks came out very rare as opposed to medium which the waiting staff said they prepare their meats.

Fantastic Food! I've been to many of these Brazil Steakhouses especially in York and they just don't compare to Caramba. Perfectly seasoned and cooked steak and other meats (especially when the owner is at the grill) , super salad bar, great service, atmosphere and comparatively reasonable price. Keep up the great job!

This place would be a solid five-star fiesta if it weren't for the cheeky little "optional" 10% tip suggestion at the bottom of the bill. Look, I love supporting staff more than a hummingbird loves sugar water, but just put the price up already! This is the UK, not a Vegas buffet where the waiters breakdance for their supper money. Nevertheless, the food was a samba of flavors, the service was smoother than Caipirinha in Rio, and the price is a tango compared to other Brazilian joints. So, I'll be waltzing back for sure, but just lose the tip tap-dancing next time, alright?

Had my Birthday family celebration. The food was good and the service great. Good choice of drinks.

A lovely little place, the Brazilian steak house style of serving food is done well here too. The salad bar is a little limited in what they have, I've had much better selections from other rodizio style venues. The only complaints are the booth seating wasn't the most comfortable and the artificial trees can be an annoyance to people over 6ft tall.

This is weary good place where u can enjoy nice food,in the awesome atmosphere, with good service.

Really pleased to have stumbled across Caramba via a Google search. The food was excellent, all very tasty and fresh. There may was cooked and drained brilliantly, particularly the lamb and steaks. Our young boys really enjoyed tucking into the meat choices. We particularly liked the way you have an initial try of all meats, and then can specifically request further portions of your favourites. The service was second to none, particularly from the chefs(?)/servers bringing the meat. They were attentive and prompt, and great at ensuring each piece was cooked the way you wanted. Highly recommend, and we'll definitely be back.

Amazing place, great selection every time & cracking service. Only downside was they have garlic bread on the menu, but when we asked for it, the waitress was very confused, asked someone else, then told us they don't have it...

Lovely place to come and enjoy some good food. This is my second visit and both times it was a nice atmosphere and the staff are polite. The only flaw was we had one set of pincer one plate to share for both our meats and I’m not a fan of lamb and it’s juices and my husband is! We like to move the meat over but at a time and not rush. Other than that 10/10!!!

Foods been hit and miss tbh. Sometimes great others questionable. Reasons for this are as follows Fat too much salt used on the meat at times. Limited meats, but I believe this is down to mid afternoon, so this has to be expected. Service generally good, but had the odd grumpy waiter. Worth a visit, but not my favourite for sure.

First time I am a big meat eater and this was right up my street.lots of dishes from the salad bar.and other didhes mushrooms in sauce delicious. lovely clean place .staff friendly .lovely waitress Hollie who severed us .Bit pricey but nice for a treat.Will go back

Great way of trying lots of different meats in a single sitting. We've visited a handful of times, always good service & consistent food. Rump, lamb, beef skirt & pineapple are the family favourites!

Fabulous meal, lots of options at the salad bar, but it's much more than a salad bar. Meats served at the table, freshly cooked and carved.... lots of variety and no waiting between servings. Staff were always kind and very efficient. Highly recommend.

Food was lovely but had to wait a while for things to come. Took about 20 minutes for the first thing to come out and then in 10 15 minute intervals wasn't even busy

As carnivores this place was amazing!! We enjoyed the full range of meat, a couple of them had sweet coatings but otherwise were perfect and cooked to perfection. And the fantastic server brought me some extra lamb, thank you!!! There is a great salad bar if that's your thing and a good range of potato/pasta type stuff which all looked really nice but we stuck to just the meat and the servers didn't try to push any of the extras when we explained we were just there for the meat!! We will definitely return sometime soon!

Superb experience. Great food and not unreasonably priced. The service was excellent, despite it being very busy on a Saturday evening when we visited. One point to note is that the meats are extremely well seasoned, we all commented at how salty it was. Otherwise very tasty and tender meats, fresh salads, great service and good value. Hard not to love it, we'll certainly be back!

Absolutely amazing place to eat. The food was delicious and the honey pork was out of this world. The staff was incredibly friendly and very helpful. If we was local to the restraunt we would definitely be eating here all the time. Please open a branch in Cleethorpes so we can experience this again. 10/10!!

We’ve been meaning to try this restaurant in Selby for a while. Judging by today’s fantastic experience we’ve left it too long! Lovely atmosphere, very attentive staff, fantastic salad bar and exceptional food. ‘Very decent wine list reasonably price and the end result is fantastic value for money. ‘Highly recommended and appears to cater for the full family including young children. We’ll be back soon.

Staff v good, you need a good appetite, as the portions are quite large.

Well this is the first time we've visited caramba after my wife has been nagging me for years to go so thought I'd treat her for her birthday today. What can I say, fantastic staff with outstanding customer service, extremely friendly and helpful from the moment we walked in and to top it of the food was out of this world so hats off to the chef too who also was extremely friendly. The lady who served us and the gentleman who seated us even brought my wife a free desert with sparkler in after hearing me talking about my wife's birthday so thank you very much for that. Overall I would rate this place 11 out of 10 and based on our experience this first time round at the Selby branch we will certainly be returning, hopefully very soon. Me and my partner went first time and all rules were nicely explained to us on how you use the service. You have fresh options on salad bar, warm and fresh sides as well. Atmosphere were very welcoming and beautiful with the decorations. Staff was very friendly and smiling, they welcome kids and families. Easy parking just in front of restaurant. Food was very tasty, different tastes as you can try the traditional Brasilian cuisine. Tried traditional beer with lovely flavours. Meet was lovely but we do suggest that you dont get too much as we over eaten of simply so much choices, haha. Its an beautiful experience and would definitely suggest to pop in, and its also very affordable.

Lovely food and service overall. Staff was very accommodating and respectful. Food was lovley all round from salad bar to grill. Waiter even came to take my first plate away to keep the table clear. Keep up the good work and look forward to coming back again, thank you.

Fantastic place. All you can eat salad bar and the staff constantly bringing out 'fresh from the grill' meats. What's not to like? Should you still have room (highly doubtful), I recommend the dessert sharing platter. Thank me later.

A great experience. A wide selection of meats delivered to your table, as much as you want, and a wonderful salad bar. Friendly staff and a good atmosphere.

It was OK. Would not rush back. The deco needs looking at. I Was a little put off going back for more food. When I saw staff mixing hot rice with cold rice. The meat options was okay. Did not have a pudding . The staff was friendly and was always asking if we want more drinks. 10% services charge was added to the bill however said that was optional.

I don't think the beef quality is very high. The meet was cooked like I asked medium rare. There were bits i got that were chewy and tough. All the other meats like pork, chicken lamb or gammon were nice 👍 If they put more focus on beef quality this could be a really good place to have steak. I can only rate 3 stars as this is a steakhouse, beef should be their most amazing dish, meanwhile I enjoyed other meets much more. Worth trying but didn't impress me.

Amazing as always loads of choice on the salad bar and hot food an abundance of fresh meat cooked to perfection with as much as you wanted from chicken, pork, chicken in bacon, sausage, gammon and three different types of steak. We weren't rushed and we had great quality service as always.

Lovely friendly place, meat was unbelievable and tasty, cannot comment on the salad as not a salad person but others in the party said it was nice. Drinks service a bit slow but not a big issue. Would definitely recommend and return. Party of 6 adults and 4 kids. The guy cutting the meat was spot on

Great venue and experience for a family meal 👌 good food aswell

I struggled to get a table on Saturday using their online booking system. Opted for 4 pm Got there. It was totally empty, apart from a family of 3. Sat down, the waitress took us through the menu, explaining it was all you could eat, using the red/green cards, and that the meat is medium rare. We ordered a bottle of white wine, took 10 minutes to arrive, and literally plonked on the table, no ice bucket/cooler. We helped ourselves to the salad bar whilst waiting for the meat to be cooked. One person cooking the meat, he then came to the table and pulled of sausage from the skewer, served the family and cooked the next lot, so we were waiting a long time in-between. The wine was now warm, went to the bar, and asked for ice, explaining the reason for this. Hey, ho, given a glass of ice, still no offer an ice cooler. All the meats were small cut portions which were pulled from the skewer (apart from one ), and not carved as shown on the website, some were brought on a plate with 5 portions, 2 for us and 3 for the family at the next table. The meat was overcooked and very chewy. When asked if everything was ok, I told the truth that I was disappointed with meats as everything was overcooked. The chef/waiter was fuming, and he didn't come back to us again. The waitress asked if there was anything in particular we would like again, i told her that we still hadn't been offered all the meats, but I opted for the carved meat. She flounced off before asking my husband. The chef returned and cut 2 pieces of meat for the husband and then cut me a well-done piece, so I asked for a medium rare piece. He cut another well-done slice more or less threw it on the plate and left. Once again, we were asked if everything was alright by a different waiter, I told him about the whole experience and how we were made to feel very unwelcome. The evening was ruined, and we had planned to have dessert and cocktails. The response we got was that he would pass this on to management. Then the bill came with a 10% service charge. This was declined. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, from start to finish it was a disaster. The chef/staff need to spend a day at Fazenda to learn how to provide fantastic service and cook proper Brazilian style.

Beautiful food however my partner had the get up and get bro the bar to get more drinks as nobody came through ask. We felt that they started avoiding our table with the meats after a while which when it is meant to be an all you can eat type of thing is quite disappointing

Great friendly staff and amazing food

Incredibly aggressive parking monitoring. Ticketed my wife for dealing with an incident with my disabled child in their empty car park outside of business hours. They were there for under three minutes and are seeking £170 in parking fees.

Me and my wife came here a few weeks ago on an impromptu date night, the food and the service was outstanding, it's not my first visit here but it was for my wife, we have been to similar types of restaurants like this (without mentioning any names) and I feel that both the service and the quality of food was superior to other restaurants like this and for a more wallet friendly price too!! We will definitely be back!! Absolute compliments to the chef who was bringing to meat over, he was funny and very polite!

Fantastic meat for the value, asked for rare beef and rare we got. Drinks can come out slow, but a little reminder and they're on their way. Flavour of the meat are good. Knocked it down one star as the salad bar isn't great. But you can't have everything for a great value right! Been twice in a month would go back again Photos, the rare may look raw...But we requested it and it was perfect for us

The food was tasty,we waited 20 minutes for the drinks to turn up new staff so that’s no problem,so on the third time we was lucky 🍀 The service is very slow when cutting the meat so the sides are cold when you want to eat them. Be careful of the parking,clearly in a deal with the parking company. Over all nice place but with the right management and service skills this would be an asset to Selby 👍
