Telephone for a takeaway and food was ready 15 minutes later which ai really good for a Saturday night. Food nice and hot, reasonably priced and tasted great

We was staying close by and decided to drive to Newtown to get a Chinese for tea . The duck was lovely , food hot and good portions , however chips was over cooked and the mains where pretty Bland ! An ok takeaway but wasn’t the best

Food was OK, good portion sizes. We should have phoned our order through as it was evidently very busy judging by the number of people who were turning up to collect orders. We ordered and were advised it would be 45 minutes, so had a walk around Newtown. Food was ready on our return. Overall very good for the money, but phone your order through!

Excellent takeaway. Great food and great prices. Portion sizes are massive so you can feed the family for very little especially when compared to the burger chains. Highly recommended.

First time we have had a takeaway from Newtown, normally use a restaurant in Welshpool but this was on way home and had been recommended. Really good food enjoyed by the whole family. I just wished i had checked my order before leaving as we were one dish missing , i think this was a combination of a large order and also being very busy and with current restrictions in place you become aware that you are holding up other people. Even with this little mistake i would use again. If had not been for this error it would of been 5 stars

I had this Chinese when staying in the area. I had chicken curry. Chicken wasn’t the greatest but overall I did enjoy and would return. The salt and pepper chips were lovely!

Great curry from here. And great chips. Real good choice and friendly staff. Choice of chinese and traditional fish and chips.

Me and my boyfriend are on holiday in the area and we’re looking for a good Chinese. We definitely found one. The lady was lovely and very polite. Everything was cooked well, very tasty. Proper good chips too! Good choice on the menu.

I've been going here regularly for 4 years, since I moved to Newtown, very nice Chicken and Mushroom soup, delicious duck dishes, noodles, prawn dishes, etc, however from time to time the Singapore noodle dish is a bit sparse..not the portion, just the ingredients can get a bit thin, which is a shame, I am a fan of SAMENESS, I like to order something and know it will be the same as always.. This is a quite busy takeaway, and on weekends there is frequently a long wait for a big order, so patience is needed here sometimes. My friend has extreme dietary restrictions, and they have been patient and understanding with her to get her orders right, however, last time instead of her 3 veg and tofu dishes with plain rice, she got beef, chicken and noodle dishes that we didn't discover until we were home with the order, so 4 miles to go back there to get the right order was quite annoying, especially on a busy Saturday night. The lady at the cash is very sweet, always has time to say hello and how are you. All in all, it's generally very good and pleasant service.

We have been using Canton Wok for years! And I mean years! It’s always excellent food, very friendly staff that are happy to accommodate any special requests. This is only a takeaway restaurant bit it doesn’t need to be anything else. The food is very reasonable as well for what you get.

We always get our chow mein from here. Even the cat loves them. The meat dishes are really good, so hubs says, but I have to say that the veggie dishes are pretty disappointing, especially when there are so many amazing veggie cantonese recipes. I really wish they would revamp their choices in light of the increased interest in vegetarian and vegan dietary options.

I've been going here for a good few years now, the food is always really good and the people there are friendly.

I have had a few take away's from Canton Wok & have always been pleased with the service & the choice of food on the menu. Also, very reasonably priced, for a good quantity of food.

I have been visiting this takeaway for more than 10 years and have tried everything on their menu during this time, I have never been disappointed and would recommend to everyone who wants an excellent meal at a very reasonable price. You can ring your order through and collect usually within half an hour. Please try this establishment as I can high recommend it.

We walked in to order our takeaway as delivered isn’t available unfortunately, however service was friendly and the food was ready in good time (around 10-15 mins) pretty cars are really good as are the portion sizes. Have to say the food was all great! Plenty of flavour and piping hot. Definitely recommend going if you can.

My partner and I got a takeaway from here and it was absolutely delicious. Food was ready really quickly too! We ordered Set Meal B and they even let us swap the pork balls for chicken balls instead with no problem at all. Price was really reasonable and portions were big. The only thing - didn’t get prawn crackers which most Chinese give complimentary, but that’s just being extra picky - will definitely be back!

Utilizamos Wok Canton regularmente, es buena para las verduras y los fideos y omnivores son para morirse. Algunos platos que hacen. nommy tofu La comida está recién preparados con un alto nivel. Es un poco más cara que la de algunos otros de la ciudad pero la calidad vale la pena.

My regular Chinese take away. Not my local by a long way but invested in a thermal food container. The forty minute journey each way is well worth the effort.

Hemos tenido un número de comidas desde el wok Canton y han sido geniales. Excelente elección, bien cocinada y a un precio muy razonable. Tendrían 5 estrellas no había dado la comida equivocada, en una ocasión, lo cual significaba un viaje de ida y vuelta de 5 milla para recoger el correcto! Mejor comida china hemos probado en la zona.

China no es mi favorito, pero la esposa le encanta llevar em, así que es lo que normalmente tenemos. Dicho esto, cuando tengo que uno gusta ser bueno. El Kung Po tenía hoy era excelente, la cama era de gambas tostadas entre los mejores que he probado y la esposa de su pollo chow principal.

This is by far the best Chinese take away in town great value for money and loads of food for your money. Give the satay meals on the back of the menu ago they are lush and prolly is great

Newtown is not the biggest place in the world or indeed the epi centre for any culinary revelution. Its Mid Wales where lots of places that provide cooked meals are judged more on the amount you get for your money than its actual taste. The Canton Wok is a rather scruffy take away that despite its decor provides a reasonable selection of tasty dishes at reasonable prices. This is not the best in Chinese cooking that we have tasted but is still a regular haunt when we feel the need to have something oriental - well lets put it this way it beats the plethora of kebhab shops that litter the town. I just wish that occaisionaly they would add some specials to their menu for a change.

Tried this place for the first time recently.All food was good - great crispy chips. Food not greasy. Good portions for the price.Will definitely be back

Can't fault the food or the service here. Just popped in on the off chance and was pleasantly surprised, and the price was very reasonable.

We had a takeaway on a Sunday evening. The service was quick and efficient with only 10 mis wait. The ladies serving were very friendly. Everyone had a different dish in our party. my special chop suey was packed with chicken, beef and king prawns; my husbands Cantonese chicken was crispy and sweet without being sickly; my daughters' chose chowmein - one chicken and the other vegetable. again they wre very well cooked, not too salty and not greasy.we will definately be back.

We have been having takeaways from here for a number of years as they do a good Thai selection and i m not keen on chinese , i find Thai more fragrant and light.However our recent takeaway was anything but.Not the usual in any way.Smell , taste or visually.Gloopy to say the least. I do hope they get back on track .Has been a firm favourite and always recommend to people wanting good food and friendly service.

Always a good meal from here but not the best in the town. Good value and always on time but somewhat lacking somehow. Still to be recommended and very good food.

I've been coming here for years. I have been to the others but this is the best. Never had anything I didn't like. Food is not greasy and very tasty! Highly recommend!
