Lovely place to grab a bite to eat, with lots of locally sourced produce! I'd also like to add that we visited with two small children and I'd like to offer an alternative perspective to the other reviewer who said they were made to feel unwelcome with small children. We didn't experience that at all. However, the reviewer mentioned their children wandering around 'being kids' and it is such a small establishment that I can understand if the staff and other customers were getting annoyed as there really isn't much space to be walking around other diners and serving staff unnecessarily. Kids should be taught to sit in their seats in restaurants anyway, but particularly when there is such little space between tables. The food was good. A little on the expensive side for what it was, but a great location and good enough quality. We'd return.

Called for breakfast. Lovely place, very clean with friendly professional staff. Very good coffee and food of excellent quality. I had scrambled egg on toast. It was only one slice of toast which didn't fill me up but in defence the price was less than a fiver plus the coffee. I would definitely return to this nice place where you can sit outside overlooking the river.

Whilst having a lovely coffee at Cannells today i saw the manager bring a coffee out to the Ranger on the Quay who was very busy getting all the Boats moored up. I later found out the ranger had no power in his hut so couldnt make a hot drinki I thought that this was a very caring and sweet thing to do ....bravo

Rude owner. Our children were walking around inside the cafe and just being children. Mind you, they were not touching any goods nor screaming or shouting, simply walking around and talking to each other. Yet I overheard the owner saying to a regular at the door he wanted us to (in his own words) f*ck off. The next moment he comes and tells us to leave on the grounds that our children were disrupting the meal of the other group of just 3. Appalling and rude. To add on, the young cafe staff appeared subdued and quiet. No regular chatter from them. I would recommend going elsewhere for better service unless you're terribly desperate for some grub.

Popped here during a walk. No shade outside so sat inside no problem! Lovely staff selling and making locally sourced food to eat in or take away. Dogs well catered for! If you have forgotten anything it’s here including the odd souvenir. Husband had the large breakfast and was very happy indeed. I opted for cheese scone and carrot cake all great. We even bought some local produce for later on. Recommend and would return!

Had double Sausage & Chips and was excellent, friendly service and really tasty, a great little eatery tucked away. Often they can disappoint but this one was spot on.

A nice spot with a very nice location - the tea was cold but the sandwiches nice. I would recommend.

Visited by boat during the cold snap of Nov 2024. The real wood fire was much appreciated, as was the great food and helpful friendly staff. Mooring needs some remedial work as some of the rings are missing / in the process of pulling out. Shore power was available for boats for £5 a night. Boat water available from nearby boat year (just the other side of the bridge) for £2.
