My daughter and I have just had the most wonderful experience for her birthday! We had a wonderfully helpful thoughtful waitress Chloe. Who went above and beyond to make my daughters birthday meal extra special! I have alot of allergies and they still managed to cater for me without me feeling like a nuisance, which isn't always the case. The restaurant was clean calm and well managed. We did learn they have a brand new manager who also went the extra mile to ensure we had an extra special evening. The food was hot, fresh tastey and a good turn around time from the kitchen. The whole team were wonderful and we can't wait to return some time soon. Thank you to the whole team.

Half the menu was unavailable despite the restaurant itself being empty, and service itself was very slow. Matredee was very controlling of her staff leading to a slow and uncomfortable experience.

We stayed at hotel for a weekend break, so dinner bed and breakfast over 2 days, we did not bother with the breakfast on the second day, it was that bad, poor quility food poor menu food keeped arriving cold,

The most slowest service which I ever had in my life .. over an hour waiting for starters and without asking them again we would probably till now had to wait for mains .. I asked for aperol spritz they said no ingredients so I asked for strawberry daiquiri also out of ingredients but that wasn’t enough customers from table next to us order burgers… and guess what unfortunately they run out of burgers buns !! So they couldn’t serve burgers … avoid that’s what I can recommended

We had breakfast and evening meal here for the set menu and both meals were amazing The breakfast selection was amazing and great quality Evening meal off the set diners menu was plenty to chose from and prices reflected the standard of food enjoyed both starter and main course

Stayed at this excellent hotel and dined in this restaurant both nights. Food great and staff perfect.

Food was okay, staff were friendly but the service was quite slow. Really nice dining room interior. Generally was okay but probably wouldn’t come again.

Stayed for 4 days, but only using the Cameo twice. However food was to the standard expected. I found the waiters Sara (supervisor f+B, Olivia, Chris gave exceptional service. Very attentive with just the right balance of asking if all was well. Very helpful with a birthday party: Warm and friendly, nothing seemed too much trouble.

Food was, as usual, very good ans well presented, but staff reductions, and a limited (covid) menu did affect choice and service to some extent.

Had dinner here Saturday night with 4 family members ... Not expensive ..not incredible ..not awful .. probably wouldn5 bother next time I stay here

The ‘salad’ that comes with the burger is a piece of lettuce and a slice of tomato. The ‘skinny fries’ are big chips. Mediocre cheap pub food at classy restaurant prices.

Menu was extensive, we ate from a specials menu at a prebooked price online. The food was lovely and the service fantastic. The dining room is pleasant, and the bar is cosy

We had the set three course menu as part of the deal we were on. Six choices for each course so I’m sure it caters for everyone. We had prawn cocktail and chicken liver pate to start followed by fish and chips and chicken tikka curry and for sweet we had sticky toffee pudding and three scoups of ice cream, all courses were very good and we enjoyed them all. Staff were very friendly and attentive.

Breakfast menu has plenty of choice, Continental type or cold Buffet and Hot Buffet includes all the full English ingredients. pleasant surroundings including a Candlelit area. Three Course Evening Meal menu, The quantities might not suit the big eaters but all meals delicous.

The food was ok, there was 8of us and we had quite a long wait for the food to come out. There's not much more I can say about this restaurant. We used it as we was staying at the hotel. I don't think we would use it again.

We ate here on 3 nights as part of our hotel stay. The food was very good, but I do wish restaurants would use conventional plates, not wooden chopping boards, slates, pieces of wood to serve food on, it does nothing to improve the quality or presentation to my mind. We had a set menu each night as part of the deal. It was basically the same one each night. There were a couple of additions on one night and on the final night it was the same again as the first night, but we were able to choose from the main menu. Whilst the food was good, it did lack a little something at times. Perhaps they were trying too hard to be 'up-market' in their presentation and choice of ingredients. If a dish states it contains roasted beetroot, then one can surely expect more than one tiny piece? The waiting staff were friendly and helpful.

Nothing else to see. Be ready to wait for your starters, mains and to have your table cleared. Food is OK.

Evening meal took over an hour to come from ordering (we had booked). Starters were good but on the amin course the meat was chewy, rubbery and not edible. They did apologise and take them off the bill but we would rather have paid and enjoyed the evening. At the end of the day, its all pub type grub and sadly this was poor. Breakfast; waited for plates for the breakfast buffet, never offered a tea or coffee, saw in the room that vegetarian sausages were on offer but as nobody came to our table all morning we had to do without these. Sadly, after going with a view to booking a significant event should the experience have been a good one, we are now looking elsewhere.

The staff were just fabulous, but the restaurant was let down by the limited options on the menu. Unless you want a burger, then there’s nothing else really on the menu. Standard of service was fabulous so would return again if the menu was updated.

Limited menu but reasonably priced Fish and Chips sold out by 7.30 p.m.Service relaxed. Good breakfast. It is convenient to eat at the hotel.The staff were very friendly.

Understaffed and poor set menu choices. Breakfast was a great improvement and enjoyed. Would hardly call this a 4 star menu more like a pub grub menu so a bit disappoint on the whole

Ate here as part of a DB&B; package at the hotel, we had the included 3 course menu which I think is £22 pp normally. It was stunning, the food was delicious, seasoned well, presented exceptionally well and all delivered with superb service, would definitely choose to eat here again.

Nos alojamos en este hotel para una escapada spa y estoy escribiendo este comentario exclusivamente en el personal del restaurante. Sufro con varias alergias y Sara en el restaurante fue absolutamente increíble, conduciéndonos a la hora de ingredientes de la sorbete Así podía disfrutar de un postre. Nada era demasiado problema para ella. Detesto ser la persona con todas las preguntas molestas, pero ella no me importó y hacía lo posible por ayudarme. Muchas Gracias Sara.

Decidimos comer en el restaurante, ya que era un poco más tranquilo que el bar lleno y tuvimos una mesa adicional menú del día. La comida era buena y buena relación calidad-precio, así como el vino de la casa. El personal era muy acogedor, amable y servicial. Nuestra camarera, Rachel, fue eficiente y muy agradable y disfrutamos hablando.

Cenamos aquí el sábado por la noche, el menú era de un buen tamaño, lo que pedimos llegó rápidamente y agradable y caliente y muy sabroso. Hay una buena carta de vinos. El personal del restaurante era genial y tomó nota del hecho de que mi novio tiene una alergia de mariscos y registró con nosotros antes de hacer su comida para evitar la contaminación cruzada. La atención al detalle es todo y estuvimos muy agradecidos por eso. Sin duda comer aquí de nuevo y recomiendo este restaurante.

Tenía algunas experiencias horribles en diciembre y enero. Nueces alimentado aunque soy alérgico y lo sabían.

朝夕食に使いました。シンプルな味付けでおいしかったです。お酒類はバー形式でお金を払って持ってきます。イギリスの水は飲めます。お腹を壊すことはありませんでした。ビールが飲める方は日本よりお得感があって飲めると思います。

Encontramos el hotel mercure en reserva punto com para un fin de lujo. Decidimos comer en el restaurante la primera noche. La comida era fabulosa, pero nos sorprendió inicialmente por el menú. Esperaba más de un menú bien en vez de estilo pub, pero fue fantástico. Desayuno con huevos duros menos impresionante, duro recocido frito insípida croquetas de patata, sosa y huevos revueltos. Yo no creo que nada había sido añadido a ellos. Bonito bonito bacon, salchichas. Sólo flora no mantequilla.

Celebramos una reunión familiar la noche del martes. Todo estaba reservado y confirmado por e-mail dos semanas antes de la mano. Cuando me registré en nuestra mesa a las 3:00 pm en la tarde nuestra reserva no estaba en el libro. Afortunadamente lograron organizar lo suficiente de una mesa para nosotros. Éramos un grupo de 16 y aunque el personal era muy bueno y muy profesional, la comida era muy promedio, las costillas que tenía eran bastante aburrido nadie estaba impresionado con lo que tenían. Que decir que el hotel está a 700 años el restaurante debería ser más de una característica. El menú del restaurante y el menú del bar es exactamente el mismo, así que en el restaurante no es incluso hizo sentir especial. Tengo que decir que el desayuno es un 10 de 10, así que el personal sabe lo que están haciendo, es la que necesitas mirar los menús. En la segunda noche en realidad fuimos en tripadvisor para comer en otro lugar.

El servicio en este restaurante hizo un cambio agradable de algunas de nuestras experiencias en el sur de Inglaterra. El Maître d era especialmente amable y servicial, y nos sentimos muy bien acogidos por él. La comida en sí era bastante bueno. No generalmente tienen...

We sat waiting a couple of minutes for soup spoons and the bread to go with the soup but from then on you couldn't fault the food or the service. Great choice.

The fish and hand cut chips were terrific. Battery is lovely and light and crispy. It also came with mushy peas, and everything was piping hot, just how I like it. I followed this with a baked Alaska, which was also pretty good. Reastuarant has a fairly extensive menu, and everyone should be able to find something to choose.

Ate in the restaurant for breakfast and evening meals. Food was fantastic and service excellent . Staff were pleasant and courteous

Customer Service in the restaurant is horrible second evening in the row. I wish I didn't stay here. I won't anymore I hope.

We stayed for 3 nights for new year. The food in the evening was good with good service.bbreakfast was good with a good choice and good quality, but servicevrather slow and disorganised.

Lovely restaurant, delicious food and excellent staff. We ate from the set menu 1 night and the restaurant menu the next night and both were lovely.

We had a 3 course meal in the cameo Restaurant & I was pleasantly surprised I had the prawn and Crayfish salad which was beautifully presented and a good size portion. My husband had the scotch Egg which I had a taste of and it was lovely. We also had the calamari to share which went very fast and was so tasty. My main was the chicken caesar salad my husband had steak both mains were lovely. dessert was sticky Toffee pudding and finished the meal perfectly. The waiting staff were great and kept us informed of any delays whilst waiting for our meals.

It was a terribil experience,( my wife and I)booked ad Diner and Danze for the New-Years Eve in October 2014,and we were very disappointed,becouse the food that I was served,was not what I had order, ,the music was very laud,and there was no dancing because of it, ,we asked to see the manager,but nobody came,.In few words,we payd £260 for the evening,and we left the hotel premessis at 10 pm,with the bottle of Champagne and the bottle of white wine (that cost us nearly £ 100 and supposedly we ware going to drink it on the table) and we went home !! I Can realy say,that in mine 50years around the world,this was the most miserable New years Eve Exsperience.We never got any apologies from any body. Antonio Villa

Had a meal here when staying at the Dunkenhalgh hotel. Food was very nice, both myself & husband enjopyed both courses. A little expensive for drinks but the food makes up for that. Service was good & staff were polite. Will visit again when in the area

Went here during a a stay in June. The food was ok but nothing special and not worth the cost. Th starter was fine, the main very sparse and the dessert was still frozen (it was a Tiramisu). Don't ask for a dessert wine as they don't stick it.

The Cameo is the in house restaurant at the Mecure Dunkenhalge,this place could use a little sprucing up but the food was very good. Better than I expected. After a fried squid starter which was different from the usual Calamari and all the better for its distinctiveness, I had what they call a lamb duo which consisted of a perfectly done lamb roast and a little cake of shredded, I think braised, lamb with a little bit of mashed potatoes on top. The menu called it lamb pie; didn’t look like a pie to me but it was as good as the roast. All of this topped off with a sticky toffee pudding. One of my favorites and this was excellent version. They have a fair stock of beers, local and no so sacrifices when you eat in at this Hotel.

An excellent restaurant where you are well looked after and served first class food. A hotel restaurant but where you are treated as individuals.

My family and I dined in the Cameo Restaurant last night and we all agreed that the menu was rather dissapointing. The service and atmosphere was ok....and so was the food! The four of us quickly decided that the choice was quite limited and when our choices arrived, although presented beautifully, it was nothing special. A rather expensive dissapointment that I wont be repeating.

The restaurant was a little quiet when we arrived at 7pm on Saturday, however it soon filled up and had a good atmosphere.The food was fantastic and was served quite quickly. The duck liver parfait was delicious although we could have done with a bit more melba toast to go with the generous portion of pate.The mains were very nicely presented and the seabass with chorizo risotto was just lovely.We have a Tastecard so this makes the bill very reasonable, otherwise, prices may just be a little on the high side, but don't let this put you off! Drinks are fairly dear but this is to be expected at a hotel, I think.We will return again soon! :-)

Go every year around this time. The food has improved every year. This evening the food was exceptionally tasty. Had Lancashire cheese hash browns, chicken and probably one of the best sticky toffee puddings with coconut ice cream I've ever tasted. The restaurant was quiet throughout our visit and plenty of staff but the service was very slow in parts. We ordered in the bar and had to find our own way to our table as no-one came back to get us. It took a while for everyone on the table to get their starter (only 7 of us). The main course was a lot better but once the tables had been cleared we had to ask several times to look at the dessert menu. Only 3 of us in the party ordered dessert which seemed to take forever and had to ask how long they would be. We did get offered a complimentary coffee. The slow service is the only thing that lets this restaurant down. Its a nice relaxed environment and the staff have been pleasant and friendly.

christmas lunch with the family.The resturant was overcrowded. The lunch was not a christmas lunch ,potato cakes,leek&potatosoup with chirizo croutons(2) in each plate.Lunch 2par boiled new potatos 2roast potatos,mashed carrots,green beans,stuffing and 2 slices of prossesed turkey, christmas pudding and brandy sauce or lemon tart that had been out so long it was curly on the corners ,a cup of coffee to finish .i would not recommend this place for food

The food we had was very nice but it took a long time to be served and some of the staff seemed disinterested. Would eat there again.

Very informal and relaxing. Was busy because of so many wedding so tables were not wiprd as clean as could be.
