Camdenwell's Fish Bar in Waverley

First time visiting in a while and it did at seem as nice as previously. Fish had a watery taste and was a bit too greasy. The chips were nice and the food overall was good value. Would buy again, but not good enough for me to make it a regular occurrence.

Rarely get meals out but this chippie has been a godsend in the past. We were a bit put out by the "cash only" thing which I don't remember in the past. This time my husband ordered Cod & chips, said it was not as good as he remembered. Then was ill the next day. Of course can't guarantee it was the fish but usually look at the last thing you ate. I was fine and I didn't have fish. Chips were OK.

Well we havant used this fish and chip shop for a few months for one reason or another. However we just fancied some last night and I pre phoned through our order for us to collect and this was ready when we arrived. Large Cod, Large Battered Sausage and Large Chips were all just superb. Great value, taste and still as good as when we were last here. Just a reminder that this place only deal with cash payments. I am sure this catches out many people as in this day and age many places actually work the other way around. Parking can be hit and miss here as you have cars parking for many other outlets working in this area. We would highly recommend as we do enjoy the quality, freshness and batter that they continue to produce. Thank You.

This place is really good and the quality of the cod is excellent and the staff are very nice. Parking is convenient and lovely experience. Water is a little overpriced though :)

We have had food from here a few times now and it has always been very good quality. Both cod and haddock have been cooked to perfection in a light crispy batter. Generous portions and well presented.

We often gat a Fish and Chip Supper from here and to date we have yet to have a bad one. The batter is lovely and crispy, and the Cod is cooked to perfection. You always get more chips than you can eat but that just shows the size of the portions they give you. There is ample parking either out the front or close by in North/East Avenue. One thing to note is they do not take any form of cards.... ensure you have cash as you will be disappointed otherwise. We always phone up in advance and within 15 minutes they usually have your order ready to collect. I have recently noticed some delivery firms arriving with heated bags to action home deliveries. As we live just around the corner, we can either drive or walk as its easier. Friendly efficient, courteous service and excellent food, what more could you want.

We have had takeaways from here many times and the service and food is always superb. We had fish and chips last Tuesday and phoned through the order before we left. The food was ready in 15 minutes and we loved the large Cod and Large battered sausage. They will only accept cash so don't go there thinking you can pay by card or contactless as you will be disappointed. Having said that there is a cash point outside the Co-op so you can get cash out to pay for your meal. Cant fault the food so we will be going back again and again.

ordered over the phone and arrived when requested, food was ready and neatly packed in stay hot boxes. Staff and service was very friendly and efficient, couldn't have asked for better quality, so can recommend without hesitation.

We've used Camdenwells a few times now - quick delivery, delicious food that's not greasy. The portion sizes are ample. Well worth ordering.

We recommend this place totally ....food was hot , good chips and a delicious batter on the fish . No cards accepted but as long as you know that should be ok . Good parking outside and reasonably priced . Looking forward to next lockdown visit !

We called in here last week and the shop only allow two customers in at a time. Masks must be worn within which is fine. After a short wait I ordered up our food and went to pay by card but surprisingly they had no card machine available. I had to go across to the Co-Op and get cash out of the hole in the wall. After a short wait within the shop our food was ready. The portions were brilliant and the three of us had our Cod, Battered Sausage's and chips at home. Very good quality and not expensive. All our three meals came to only £14.

We have had Fish and Chips here now two or three times and they have been really very good. I genuinely can’t find a fault and the serving staffs have been excellent. Off road parking directly outside this place is easy.

This place used to be called Dave's Fish and Chips. I must say that we have neglected coming here for some time but tonight as we passed by we thought we would give it ago. We had Large Cod & a Large Battered Sausage with a large portion of Chips. I believe it cost me approx £11:70 which we thought was very good. The portion of chips the young lady gave us was quite amazing in size. The large cod was the biggest piece of cod I have ever seen, and I have had a few over the years. We took our meals home and had to leave some of the chips as there was simply just so many. We found it to be excellent value and very tasty, so we will be going back again. Parking out the front is limited and can get quite busy as its shared with other shops. There is some parking available in the side road and some people park over at the shop opposite. This is obviously a newly opened place but the staff were all very efficient and friendly. Thank you.
