The hotel bedrooms are looking a bit tired and certainly In need of a complete refurb... But it's handy to get to as it's right off the motorway and a quick bus ride into Cambridge city centre.....but will now never stop there ever again as they have sold their soul to become an immigration hotel.

Went here today and, due to a lack of vegan options in the cafe, we brought some food into the cafe as well as ordering from the cafe itself (the food was also brought in the tesco the cafe was in). One of the staff members, let's call her Clara came up to us and told us we could not eat the food. She kept intimidatingly staring at us from all over the cafe while we were waiting for our food. The person with dietary restrictions was therefore very hungry while refraining from eating and felt very uncomfortable. There was no signage warning us of cafe food only, so this person ate her food anyway. Clara proceeded to whisper into her managers ears until another of our company went up to confront them. Clara's attitude was horrible, she was more concerned about breaking the rules then the actual manager was, who contributed very little (possibly because he knew it was not a big deal) to the conversation. Clara made a scene and raised her voice. She turned something small and would not effect her or the cafe at all into a huge deal. They offered us a refund and so we left to go to the brand new Greg's downstairs, which did not at all mind that we brought in food from the tesco sushi place. Again, when we brought food into the morrisons cafe they did not care at all. The St Neots teco cafe is much nicer and the staff there are friendly and not intimidating or rude whatsoever.

The restaurant was advertised as open for hotel guests until 9pm but they decided it was going to close as it wasn't busy. We arrived at 7.40pm and saw a couple eating in the restaurant and waited for 10 minutes whilst different people were very negative and unhelpful and said it was going to close despite a large sign at reception saying 9pm. We went to bed without dinner due to the long drive we had. I often stay here but won't plan to eat here again. Very poor service.

My wife convinced me to go here, and I regret nothing: Poppy (the owner's dog) greeted us at the entrance and entertained my daughter while waiting for the drinks and menus, the location is beautiful and relaxed, the staff is warm and welcoming, the food is fresh and cooked to perfection, the service is very efficient and professional, and the garden gives a feeling of "home". On top of that, the ice cream was the best I have ever had. 10/10, I would recommend to anyone who wants to have a great time with the family and friends.

A very friendly, welcoming pub. We have been several times for a meal and are always greeted warmly. We were served by Seyf who was very attentive and couldn’t do enough for us, he clearly takes pride in his job! The food and drink choices are really varied, we were very pleased with all our meals, delicious !

Booked online after hearing roaring reviews about the Plough’s Sunday Roasts. We arrived a little before our 14.15 booking, we waited a few minutes before being asked if we had a reservation, which they weren’t able to find for a few more minutes. We sat at the bar & ordered some drinks whilst a table for round for our reservation. We were then seated at a table for two, it did feel like somewhat of a wait to order our main meals. Although, there wasn’t many seated around the side of the restaurant that we were situated at, it felt we were a little forgotten about. We made sure we ordered quite quickly. I ordered a Mixed Meat Roast, which contains Beef, Lamb & Chicken. My fiancé ordered a Mixed Meat Roast & opted for no lamb. We ordered a side of Cauliflower Cheese to accompany our Roasts. Crest where credit is due, we didn’t have to wait long before our roasts were brought to our table. The Roasts come out with selected meat & Yorkshire pudding on a scoop of mash potato with a small jug of gravy & gravy already on the meat. A separate sharing bowl of vegetables; carrots, parsnips, celeriac & cabbage greens. Then, a big bowl of Cauliflower Cheese. The gravy smelt & tasted incredible. A full depth of flavour & richness. Although, I wish I had asked for more. Bigger gravy jugs needed! The Roast Chicken leg was the most flavoursome meat on the plate. It had a garlic & herb flavour, the chicken skin wasn’t soggy but had lots of flavour. I felt a little let down with the Roast beef & lamb. If I’m honest I was expecting more flavour & nice pink beef, plus melt in the mouth lamb. The vegetables were a nice accompaniments with the roast. The Cauliflower cheese packed lots of flavour & was plentiful. The Yorkshire pudding was somewhat lacking, quite tough. It wasn’t a terrible roast dinner but it wasn’t near one of the best I’ve had. I just expected a more up there worthy one of the best roasts in Cambridgeshire. The service was a bit hit & miss, the staff were lovely though. A lovely establishment but the roasts are lacking. I simply mention this as I think to the Plough are able to up their game. The pudding was very lacking. I chose the Camelised Apples & didn’t finish this as this pudding was not winning with flavours. Come on the Plough, I am rooting for you!
