Great service and value for money. Super Sunday lunches I call a couple of hours before and they are always on time

Cal's are open EVERY day. A friendly couple turn out great food at very fair prices. Highlight of the week - Sunday roast. The portions aren't for the faint-hearted!

I've passed this place hundreds of times and barely given it a glance. Apart from noticing that it's very popular with teens from the local comprehensive it's unremarkable from the outside. I've never been inclined to go in until a neighbour recommended the takeaway Sunday lunches. It's run by an older couple and open 9am 'til 4pm 7 days a week. The prices are very fair. They do have some outdoor seating but it's mainly takeaway. There's a deli style counter. They serve; Cooked breakfasts. Sandwiches, baguettes and toasties. Baked potatoes Soups. Salads and pasta pots. Hot and cold drinks. They also sell a range of cooked meals which reflect the season, e.g. coming into winter faggots, peas & mash / chips, stews, etc. All day Sunday they serve a roast dinner as a takeaway; Roast beef with Yorkshire pudding or turkey with stuffing, (take your own plate). Accompanied by roast potatoes, mashed potato, carrots, peas, cauliflower, cabbage and broccoli with a rich gravy. At £6.50 for the large meal it really isn't worth the hassle of cooking all day. For OAPs, 1 large meal will feed 2 people. My decision to eat from this establishment was informed by the displayed food hygiene rating of 4/5 (Good).

I called in for a cup of tea and a snack. The menu was restricted but staff were friendly and service was quick. Set in a small village hall that used to be a school it had plenty of charm. Free parki
