Calif Bar in Wolverhampton

Had a really bad experience, I ordered something via Uber and they then call to say they don’t have it after money has already been taken. Uber refused to refund me because they accepted the order. Why accept the order if you don’t have the items? I lost out on around £35.00. When I called them about this a few days later, they claim no one told me that information and none of the staff are aware of it…. Horrible and unprofessional experience.

Food was delivered cold, it wasn’t that great they overcharge for the portion you get too. Go to Eko 77 for a bunch better eat in and take out experience.

Had to edit my review. The portion sizes are so much more smaller compared to the price you're praying for. Eko77 restaurant gives you bigger portion for the amount you pay and quality is better

The speakers in the club are too loud and unhealthy. The DJ is also too ancient. His mix is so boring and plays too many old music. I have been here about three times now and I can say this about the DJ. He needs to do better or get changed!!!

Fabulous place to be in, very accommodating staff. Good atmosphere indeed amazed and the food is 10/10 the service 👌 😋. Welldone CalifBar

It was ok, staff were helpful, music was nice but predominantly Nigerian.

I enjoy the beef stew. Very fresh and seasoned well.

The Dj refused to play East African music stating that he has a set playlist to play. Do not recommend if you're not Nigerian.

I went on a Friday night. Turns into nightclub after hours. Drinks are reasonably priced. However, there is an entry which I think £10 is steep for the fact that in there was not packed out. Managed to get the price down a lil bit as went in as a group but was basically told that it was only because 1 of our party was Nigerian. Watched others get in for free because of their ethnicity. I think it's fair to say I will not be returning.

As a club, they need to change the dj. Feels like songs on shuffle, he doesn't know how to put a set together to create a vibe. The best songs he cuts them before they get to the chorus lol. Apart from that, venue and drinks are good

I’ve been to Calif numerous times before more Nigerian places started opening in Wolverhampton but I’ve always found their food to be inconsistent when it comes to cooking style and flavour. We got the fried rice, goat meat suya, egusi soup and okra! Okra is my favourite but I’m not too keen when there is Ogbono in there too! I like it green and crunchy and PLEASE, where is the okra 😩😩 The goat meat was tender and well seasoned. It could’ve done with a bit more of the yaji (suya spices) to give it extra kick. I was told that the egusi soup and the fried rice were good but again, where are the prawns/liver etc. The venue itself is really dark inside and there is almost always loud music playing so be prepared for this!

Ordered the £30 grilled fish for the first time there and it was burnt on both sides .couldn’t even eat it because was dry even inside because of being burnt . After waiting for more than an hour i got a burnt instead of grilled fish. I was highly disappointed coz I wasted my money

The place is filthy! Cockroach's everywhere, cutlery was dirty, surfaces sticky! No good plus its that bad there it was in the local newspaper and the were fined 14k!

Good vibes and music for everyone. The bar owner is very friendly and welcoming. Security is there. Enough parking space jus near by.

Good food, good music and great atmosphere.

Calif Bar is good. They have some quite delicious meals as shown on the menu uploaded. Had their Jollof rice and beef then their poundo yam and egusi soup and they both tasted really nice. The food quantity and quality are also quite alright.

Calif Bar has a Nigerian- Africa flavour. Feels straight out of Lagos with lots of Afrobeats and Nigerian music thrown in. The food was good. Not too expensive too. It was all love. Made me feel some nostalgia.

Not happy with my order each time I phone up......the food use to be palatable but now it is being rushed. Each time I spend, it is between £40-£50 and they had the audacity to give me 4 pieces of meat in my egussi soup, 3 pieces of meat in my okra soup and the yam pieces was also BURNT. I drove all the way home and was disappointed when I opened the containers. The beans was also extremely dry and no sauce was included. If I am spending so much, I expect my order to be done properly. I have been a regular customer so I do NOT expect such service.

Order or buy Correct native meat called "suya"!

Very unprofessional, if you order A they will deliver B . Ordered for eforiro and assorted they gave me goat meat . Ordered for Okoro they gave me ogbono. They are as Nigerian as you can imagine. Very unprofessional.

First time here on a night and I loved it really enjoyed myself I didn't want to go haha. Music is good and was a friendly place.nice vibe to the place. only downfall is the price of the drinks some of the prices were ridiculous. But that aside I'LL BE BACK 😁

Pros: - food was nice and portions were generous - we enjoyed the music very much - the whole look of the restaurant/bar was nice Cons: - it took more than 20min for our food to come - the staff was not around much if you needed anything

Still fairly rating this restaurant regarding the food quality and the delivery service. I have ordered some fish pepper soup and received assorted meat soup instead ??? Calling up the restaurant and ended talking to a very condescending person that tells me that they do not have fish pepper soup and this had nothing to do with them ?? 1- If you do not have FISH why not calling the customer and LET HIM KNOW THAT THERE IS NO FISH ? No ? Didn’t think about that ? 2- When you run out of stock of a particular item, either replace it on a timely manner or temporarily remove it from your menu. Don’t deliberately leave some items on your menu just to rip off your customers. 3- “This has nothing to do with us” oh yeah ? So is this my problem if you ran out of fish and did not have the common sense to either let me know and offered me to replace it with something else OR SIMPLY REMOVE IT OFF YOUR MENU ? Do I have to teach you how it works ? Very bad customer service, I should of taken the name of that guy that I had on the phone I unfortunately didn’t but he will definitely recognise this review. You guys can do better, being polite and compassionate visibly isn’t for everyone. Time to try “The Millions Kitchen” ☺️

The kitchen staff here don't either know how to read or they just live in errors...Always get my order wrong every time. They either sent you the wrong food or they omit something on your order that you have paid for online and i think this is intentional because I have told them several times but it keep repeating itself....

Staff are extremely rude! Made me feel uncomfortable. The men have no respect for women in there. The bouncer was 2hours late and no apology. Honestly a disgusting place.

I had such great fun with my friends and family last Saturday night. I celebrated my birthday there with friends and family and I have no regrets choosing this place. The food was excellent and the customer service was wonderful. The owner took great care of us he really made my birthday a memorable one as he promised. I reccomend this place if you are looking for a cool place with an Afro cuisine and more, then try this place. The staff were nice and friendly.

Music is okay... but men to woman ration is horrendous... men pounced on anyfrmale that walks through the door saying you're the most beautiful girl I have seen.... and so to every woman

The African soups were perfect. The fufu portion need to be increased. The furnitures and seatng arrangement need to be changed to meet the look of a full licenced resturant.
