Amazing shots and amazing service!

Visited for a cocktail and wee bite...ordered 10 chicken wings, my first in Scotland. I was not sure what to expect amd received a very pleasant surprise! The wings appeared different than what I am used to but 1 bite sold me !!! I thoroughly enjoyed the moist tenderness of the chicken and delightful taste!!! I ate everyone one of a batch of 10 and almost ordered more for the flavor alone !!! The cocktail was just vodka and cranberry but good...The server was a professional yet friendly and welcoming addition to the visit. I will be making another visit before I leave !! Thanks from a delighted American visitor !!!

£20 2 person weekday lunch and dinner deal changed my life for the better. Staff are super friendly!!!! Finding the bathroom is a Stanley Parable puzzle in the best way possible.

Disgusting, visted on a Saturday morning, nothing had been cleaned from night before, tables sticky, seats sticky, beer garden disgusting, staff not bothered at all just stated" well it's like a nightclub on a weeken". Would absolutely not vist this establishment again.

Absolutely loved our meals here. Uncomplicated, delicious food at a reasonable price. Really extensive menu with something for everyone. The kind of atmosphere you can hang around for hours in. Really friendly and fast service too. Loved it!!!

We went for the 2 for £20 meal, which included 2 mains 2 drinks and a starter and a dessert. The price was amazing and the food filling. The food is very tasty and you can’t beat the price anywhere in Inverness

Supposedly dog friendly, I booked, got a confirmation email saying they were looking forward to seeing us. Then they emailed and told me they weren’t dog friendly. The Next day they email again, when I’m now eating in a different restaurant to say they ARE dog friendly. Oh well, their loss, we ate in Scotch & Rye instead.

Excellent. I have a gluten allergy and I was very well looked after by staff here, I felt comfortable and at ease. Excellent 👌

I went today for lunch. The food was served on a white plate. I'm aware that white plates are a bit tricky with stains and fingertips but this plate was disgusting. Stains from old food (wrong colour for my dish), sticky and grease stains. After a few bites I just couldn't accept it so I complained. But instead taking the plate away, the waitress seems to have to ask first, if she was allowed to take the plate back. I didn't even ask for new food, which I should. Just for a clean plate. Finally the plate got picked up and another was brought with the left overs, cold of course and the plate as dirty as the first, minus the food rests. So I had to eat a cold dish and later started to have real stomach pain. Probably not surprising.

Such a beautiful place and wonderful staff highly recommend!!!

Mark is an excellent host! He looks after everything we need and we always love seeing him. Look forward to our next trip to Inverness to see him

It's a bit hit or miss unfortunately. Some of the front of house staff are good, but terribly overworked. Clearly there are issues behind the scenes that result in frequent delays. Pity as it's a prime location and could be really good.

Lovely atmosphere, excellent service and great food. I enjoyed myself properly here tonight, and I even got a swell tutorial regarding whiskey as well as some wonderful suggestions. Absolutely reccomended

Great pub came here for a weekend break, the staff are friendly and professional and Mark the manager was an absolute gentleman, so friendly and helpful and made us all feel so welcome, couldn't do enough for us. Would recommend this pub to anyone that comes to Inverness.

Mark and his lovely staff are all amazing and go above and beyond to look after you as a guest. Fabulous place to watch sports and Great choice of beer . This place was near empty on a Saturday night when every other pub/bar we went to was hoaching. The music was okay but due to the place being dead there wasn't really much get up and go for dancing etc. Not sure if there is a management issue but they might need to rectify it if they're going to stay open. Can't comment on food as didn't have anything to eat

We had lunch there, letting ourselves be touched by the prices and the facade. The staff there were welcoming £6.50 for 1 baked potato and 1 drink it was very affordable it was good. Only downside (hence the 4/5) the toilets are a little far from the room but they are very clean

A decent place but more of a bar atmosphere with bar food than a restaurant. We made a reservation for 7:30 for dinner and were told the kitchen was closing when we arrived. After we told them we had a reservation, the kitchen then stayed open. They had two cask Ales on tap but they weren't available the night we went.

Brilliant service from the manager man who did everything he could to get the football on in time for kick off. Good service, good food, good pints 😁

Had food and some drinks at the start which was good but then ordered 2 pitchers which took an hour to arrive and we had to double check on them and the server didn't believe we ordered drinks until I showed them my app also asked for a bowl of water for my dog also took an hour to arrive all in all a disappointing experience

Went here 2 days in a row for dinner. Good food for a very reasonable price. Good service, friendly people. Clean and neat establishment. Parking possible close by up the hill or in the city.

Was back in inverness today cannot thank Mark Glendinning the Manager enough for his service Absolutely wonderful staff nothing is too much trouble .service is second to none food is delicious .this pub is run by a manager who obviously knows the how to treat staff and guests well done

Went in here 2 days in a row to watch the sport over the weekend. Large space with lots of screens, perfect for watching sport. Amazing service, friendly staff who are happy to chat and spend time explaining about different drinks and food options. I had the haggis and the black pudding fritters are incredible. Will be back everytime I go to Inverness!

Were on holiday here from England. Three of us came in for food. We found out our servers name is Faye, who was amazing, always on the go and never seems to stop. Always with a smile and very polite. However, the food wasn't up to standard! I had a mixed grill and asked for the beef to be medium....it was medium rare! My wife had the vegan burger option because she suffers with lactose intolerance, it was not vegan or there was cross contamination, this meal had the bad effect on my wife, who needed a toilet constantly for approximately the next 3 hours!! The batter on the fish my father in law had was dry, he couldn't finish the fish! We also overheard the manager speaking badly about another member of staff to another staff member, in full view of the public. Apparently, she's not upto scratch and won't be there long, apparently she's new. We also witnessed a lady, who is possibly the managers wife/partner, go to serve a customer who just walked in the pub despite us waiting at the bar to be served! We were eventually served by a lady who didn't offer a smile was not polite and was not courteous and obviously mistakes were made on our order. On this basis, I cant recommend this place. All in all not a very pleasant experience at all.

Had dinner with my wife and 4yr old son on a tuesday night. No booking and got sat at a table immediately. Kids meal was a good size, service was great and the manager was friendly and made us feel welcome. Definitely recommend for young families. Thai coconut curry was awesome.

I come here regularly to have lunch as I'm in Inverness for a few hours every other Saturday and the food is absolutely amazing! It's so decently priced and the staff are absolutely amazing! I've never spoken to anyone who isn't really friendly and they always have big smiles on their faces and are happy to help with any query you have! It's my favourite place to eat in Inverness! I've also been here in the past on a weekend it's one of my favourite places to have a drink on a Saturday night too!

Good place and unbeatable situation, super well taken care of! They let us taste the beers they had and even invited us to a delicious craft beer!!! It's a shame that our Catalan timetables don't match the Scottish ones and the kitchen was already closed; otherwise we would have stayed there.

Super authentic place highly recommended. Great selection of fantastic beers, countless TVs to watch football or the current sporting events, and comfortable spaces and different atmospheres to have a good time. Unbeatable service deal. Great place!

Run away It's disgusting! Burnt meat, filthy and shrunken sausages, dry fries, dry meat pie, in short, disgusting! Torn bench seat, no cleaning done, dirty toilet... Beautiful exterior but don't go inside. Worst case scenario, eat McDonald's... it's opposite!

Great place to go for a few drinks on both a week day and the weekend. Bar staff are all very nice especially Jade, Lara, and Fin.

When I ordered the food I took the menu with me and pointed to what I wanted, they still got it wrong. The girl I took the complaint to did apologise and said she would re-order and that the manager would come and see me no sign of the manager or an apology. Meanwhile the wife had long finish before I got my replacement, poor show!

A Quarter to 7 pm we could already no longer order food here! What ridiculous thing is this? Is this typically Scottish? Very unhospitable! Reaction: We were in Inverness for only a night, so unfortunately you cannot make this up for us. The lady who was there and told us, was very unpleasant. I think she had sent the cook home because of the football match! Even we as Dutch (it was our team playing) expected to be able to eat before 8.00!

Visited this pub on the first day of touring Inverness, we had our food basically thrown at us, both meals came out wrong, (wrong burger, and missing items on other dish), we got no apology at all. Staff just didn’t seem like they wanted to be there. One positive however, the food was actually really nice, just a shame it wasn’t correct. It was an overall rubbish experience. Won’t be returning.

Went in here as the rest of bars in town were very busy but managed to get a choice of tables in here. Unfortunately not very clean. And quite a wait at the bar as was only one person working. Not a very nice pint.

I had the chicken tikka masala. The rice and naan were dry and the chicken was the smallest portion I'd ever been given. The table was super sticky from not being cleaned properly. The whole place had a damp "beer-soaked-carpet" smell. I'm not sure why I even stayed. This place is a hard pass.

Calm casual atmosphere for my weekday lunch. Not crowded but not empty and the staff were friendly and casual. Lots of TVs to watch sport from most of the seats if anything is on. I had a lunch special Mac and cheese jacket potato that came with a lemonade. It was so big and so delicious and so reasonably priced I was very happy with it. Place was also clean including the bathrooms, and it seems mobility accessible as there’s a wide path for movement around and a lift to the accessible toilets on the upper level. Would absolutely come again (and probably will during my 4 days here)

We had the best food at great prices! The curry was amazing! The kids loved their meals, which included desserts! Our server, Caitlin did a great job. Mark educated me on whisky types and gave us some great travel tips for this area. So glad we stumbled upon this gem!

Had a Great time at the Calley bar! Lovely space to relax in or watch sports. Staff were friendly and helpful, especially Nina who was very helpful and explained the menu in detail after I had a question about an allergy in our group.

Have been to the cale for weekends out and for a wee drink after work. Staff are always friendly. Lovely staff member Nina has always been very helpful and stood out to me. Can tell she genuinely enjoys working in the high pressure environment as she mixes drinks and can chat away all the while 😆❤️

SO, How to say that nicely? Run away and save your money and time: -To begin with, the blonde waitress was absolutely not friendly. Surely smiling would have killed him? -Then we ordered 2 dishes with meat. We really shouldn't have... I had made it clear that I wanted my meat rare. I was treated to meat that was more than cooked to the point of being burnt. As for my friend, her portion of meat was so small that I'm not even sure if it was legal. Peas were frozen peas, with a radioactive appearance. The fries were terrible. And I didn't even know you could miss onion rings that badly. In short, both dishes were literally filthy. We tasted a mouthful of everything and left immediately leaving our inedible food there entirely. So we paid for a meal for nothing then took refuge at the Subway at the end of the street. Because we were hungry. I don't think I've ever had such an unpleasant experience in a restaurant.

Don't be fooled by the decor, it's really one of the worst restaurants I've been to eat at. The services are deplorable, not even a smile or any sign of courtesy. The kitchen is reheated, we can hear the sounds of the microwaves from our table. I had a steak that wasn't overcooked. I ended up with a sole that was almost burnt, the fries weren't even hot and not cooked at all. interior and the peas on the side look like they have spent several days outside the fridge. I left without even touching my plate. Do not go.

I was in and served by Nina she served us with polite whitty banter which was well received and gave plenty options and was really nice. The food was good and im partial to a week day bar lunch/dinner and I am never disappointed.

Great bar in central Inverness. Good choice of beers at very reasonable prices. Traditional pub grub too. Mark and his team were all very friendly, helpful and provided a warm welcome. Next time in Inverness I’ll definitely be back.

The food tasted good, we had fish and chips, the lasagna was really very good. At first we were confused why no waiter came until we found out that you had to order at the bar, which wasn't a problem. The waitress was very friendly. The ambience is what you would expect from a typical pub.

This was a fantastic bar for drinking, with a flashy vibe as you would expect for city life! The grouped lights contribute to this and the outside area provides a nice alternative, counter is stylish too. I was able to get 50% off a classic Long Island Iced Tea, finding a variety of seating styles to choose for sitting at!

Worst pint of Peroni, I've ever had. Staff weren't that bothered about our stay either. Will not return again

Great pub in the centre of Inverness. I only tried chicken wings from the food menu but they were excellent. There’s a section up the back that’s almost hidden with a pool table although unfortunately it was busy all night! There’s also a beer garden around the back which is very nice, although unfortunately when I visited there had been a bit of littering which hadn’t been cleared away. A shame as it’s otherwise a beautiful space. A big bonus for this place is it’s dog friendly and I didn’t encounter a huge number of dog friendly pubs during my stay in the city.

Came here for a family lunch after coming for the day. The fish platter was beautiful and big portion! Excellent value for money! We all had sticky toffee pudding and I was delighted when I was told I could have ice cream and custard! Our 4 year old was delighted she got a flake with her ice cream! Food was fab! Great place! We will def be back! Very friendly staff!

Where do I begin haha over the last couple weeks of staying in Inverness for work, the team at the Caledonian went above and beyond for us!! Both the food and pints went down exceptionally but it was the service and hospitality which broke the mould for us. The staff were extremely friendly, welcoming, and generous! The manager spent some time to get to know us and even gave us recommendations, freebies, and a free glass of my new favourite pint!!! They really went out of there way for us, so even if you’re not hungry or not a big drinker, get your arse over to the Caledonian because u won’t regret it :) Really appreciate it Mark and team! Krispy Kreme guys

We come in to play pool all the time, the staff are great and always friendly. Chips are good, can’t comment on the rest of the menu but it always looks/smells great!
