I was driving past purely by chance and spotted this pretty little tea shop tucked away round the corner at the top of a side street in South Shields. It looked so appealing I stopped and dropped in to get a sandwich. The lady in the shop was very friendly and helpful, and while she made my sandwich to order I looked around at the gifts and treats available for sale in the shop. There was a display case brimming with delicious looking home made cakes and savoury treats, so I'll make a point of going back with a friend to enjoy an afternoon tea next time I'm in the area. The sandwich was very tasty, moist, fresh and well-filled, and very reasonably priced. I recommend this place.

Wolfmann’s is a pretty unique place in South Shields. Great healthy food, lovely surroundings and very nice staff. Our favourites are the Korean Fried Chicken and anything from the sea! There’s a distinctly Asian vibe with lots of the food but they also do great breakfasts, burgers and a fantastic Sunday lunch. There is also a lovely selection of cakes in the cabinet if you fancy something sweet. We need to make sure that good quality neighbourhood eateries like this stay the distance, so if you are looking for somewhere in South Shields that won’t disappoint, definitely try Wolfmann’s!

Let’s be honest, the food is what matters, and in this case it’s beautiful. However, as a reviewer, I need to paint the whole picture. The restaurant is a small, shabby eatery with no proper bar and it’s quite run down. The toilet is directly off the dining room so not ideal. The service is good and the food is tasty and well priced, but if you’re going for a special occasion like a birthday, I’d have to recommend you go somewhere more upmarket. This was a curry place for years and they haven’t spent money on it since. I hope they do well, and I’ll continue to go, but it feels like half a job. Dining out is a treat for most of us and we want the entire experience.

Popped in on my lunch break. I had not pre-ordered, so I opted to get a chicken burger. Service was rather quick, I only waited just under 10 minutes. Food was okay, fries weren't great but still edible and the burger was tasty but I feel it lacked a bit of seasoning. Paid £6 for the meal which I think was pretty good. I will return to order one of their specials soon, because from all accounts they are great.
