Cake Shack in Dacorum

Lovely, welcoming stop halfway round my cycle route. Friendly staff, delicious home-made cakes and decent coffee. Enjoyed a very tasty “brockie” (brownie/cookie combo) with my cappuccino today.

It was late afternoon on a Saturday so I will try it again but I wasn't impressed. A choice of 2 cakes and some muffins. The Biscoff cake was tasty but a little under baked. The coffee & walnut muffin was so dry as to be inedible. Either it had been overbaked or had been out for more than a day. Awful. No cakebox is available so the slice of Biscoff cake was just wrapped in clingfilm and put in a paper bag. I do feel, when purchasing a takeaway of a delicate item, that there should be some support so that you don't end up with a mess at the final destination. An OK place but could be so much better.

Just tried one of their overnight oats they’re starting to test the waters with… My goodness, each layer got better and better and the flavour/texture was amazing. Perfect if I am in a rush for work or if I need something after the gym. Ice coffee aren’t bad either ;)

Popped in to grab a coffee and was welcomed by the lovely young girl that runs the shop. Great coffee with some delicious home made cake. Small shop with some indoor and outdoor seating with simple but nice decor. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

Lovely cute coffee and cake shack. Really lovely staff and the coffee cake was great. Just dropped in out of the rain. Decor is relaxed. I might have to pop back and pretend to work here one afternoon just to see what cake is on next 🤔 😄

Have just visited the Cake Shack for 1st time in a long while. We were absolutely delighted that the new owners are continuing the high standards of homemade food and friendly,kind,service. Coffee is excellent,lunches look great,we had paninis with homemade pesto! And the sausage roll I took home as a treat,is the best I have ever had(sorry Mum!) Congratulations and we will be back very soon!

The cake shack is Under new management who are very welcoming and friendly. The food is fresh and very tasty with lots of choices!!. Fantastic drinks selection especially for someone like me who cannot drink coffee, It's dog friendly as well very handy for dog walkers like myself, The cakes are freshly made by the owner these are a huge favourite for us the best around with a good variety of flavours.

Disappointed to spend 1hr+ walking here to find it closed when it should be open (sign in the door said open).

This place is a hidden gem, well actually not hidden as its easy to find !! I cant recommend it enough always plenty of choice and always fresh. Try the Raspberyy Crumble you wont regret it !

Staff always friendly and food and drinks always good quality. Good outdoor seating area which we like when our dog is with us and you are offered a blanket when it is cold!

Wonderful cake shop with a great variety of fresh, flavourful cakes. Tried the mint aero cake which I can definitely give a thumbs up too. Very friendly staff and great service.

Visited on a nice Sunday sunny afternoon. Order was taken by a young lady - very polite and kind.Cake and drinks were served by both her and a young man - again, very polite and attentive.Cakes were simply "lush". Drinks were well made, kudos to the young lady making a perfect cappuccino!We very much look forward to returning.

Stopped at the Cake Shack for lunch on a cycle ride today. Absolutely delicious wraps (had the peri-peri chicken and sweet potato) - highly recommend!

We popped in for a hot drink to warm us up in the chilly weather. We were greeted in a warm and friendly manner and left with two delicious mocha’s. Highly recommend The Cake Shack!

Mel runs a great café but she is also a talented cake maker. My Mum's 90th birthday cake was an astonishing piece of art and was a hit with the twelve who ate a piece and demanded a bit to take home! Oh, and her toasties are nearly as good!!! Five stars. Nothing less will do.

We asked Melissa to make the cakes for our daughter's wedding, and she excelled! We were so happy with the display at the venue (Shendish Manor) that she created and all the guests loved the taste of all the cakes. We had a Lemon & Blueberry, a Carrot Cake and a 'Funfetti' cake (for the American guests!) I wholeheartedly recommend her if you are planning your wedding.

We 'discovered' this place after driving past it a few times. The cakes are excellent (as are the few panini-type snacks that we have enjoyed) and Melissa is delightful and so helpful. We make frequent stops now!The space is small, rustic and cosy. There is outside seating too for the the warmer days.

We came here for Tapas on one of the shacks late nights and it was just lovely. Perfect food with a lovely bottle of red and great service. We will definitely be back again.

This is a cute coffee and cake shop but when two of us arrived one rainy day to an empty shop and asked if my small dog could come in we were told flatly no. I totally understand that not everyone is keen on dogs but as it was empty it wouldn’t have been too much to put us in a corner and take our money. There was no offer even of sitting outside so we left and ate elsewhere. The area is huge for dog walkers and this could be a very welcome and thriving addition to the community if they were a little more flexible and welcoming.

Gluten free heaven ..... I love this place.The owner and staff are so friendly and helpful, they always have such a varied range for all gluten free , gluten , vegan and always such a mix.Honestly the best cakes I’ve ever Tasted nothing is too much trouble.Keep doing what your doing cake shack

What do you do when there are too many good things to choose from?? Have a little bit of all of them Some gorgeous savoury tarts, with a red cabbage salad, and a pulse salad, sweet potato wrap - a few glasses of craft beer!! Followed by a profiterole cheesecake (lovely) and some more cakes I would definitely recommend spending an afternoon!!

Stopped here this week for a yummy toastie and coffee and liked the place so much that came back for the late Friday opening food. Home cooked food, lovely local beer and lots of little board games to keep families engaged and off their phones made for a really nice way to spend a Friday evening. The home made cakes were amazing and all testament to the love and care that the owner puts in, not every place is as good as this, you should try it!

Lovely service and choice of cakes. Nice to be local. Unfortunately our visit was cut short because we found parking was literally for 20 minutes. We had to rush our coffee and cake.

We fancied a walk with a purpose last Sunday so took to the Chiltern Hills on our doorstep and walked cross country for 6 miles to The Cake Shack. We had heard about this newish place on social media local groups. We arrived about 2:30pm and had a big slab of Coffee & Walnut Cake and Toasted Chicken Sandwich and shared a pot of tea. Lovely food. Lovely friendly service. They have a toilet which was handy. After we refuelled with such yuminess we then headed home cross the fields and hills. This is a little gem in the countryside.

Fantastic little cafe and cake shop, all home made in premises, had a lovely chorizo cheddar cheese toastie and will try to please be making your sandwiches to order, super friendly staff, would be my local cafe if I lived local.

My brother who lives in London (land of choice!) who has also lived in Italy and is one hell of a fussy coffee lover (and knows his stuff) was blown away by The Cake Shacks Coffee!! Obvs the cakes are knock out! All this and then they go host a craft beer tasting night ! This place!

Popped in for tea and cakes. They were absolutely delicious! Made by the owner who is obviously a talented cake baker. Friendly service and atmosphere. Recommended.

I visited this little cafe/teahouse with my friend on Saturday, and was very impressed. I visit high end Restaurants and Hotels and professionally review them. On this occasion it was just a visit with a friend and the visit was not a professional one. I was impressed by the friendliness of the proprietor and her staff and the high level of customer care. They endeavour to source food locally which in my opinion is a big plus these day's. At the time of my visit they had laid out a table for a birthday party (picture). The layout was of a traditional style that had all the trimmings that you would only see in an expensive hotel.

Have popped in here with my kids after snow day, a quick cupcake and coffee with friends and a girly night out for Spanish tapas style and red wine. Lovely intimate venue for a catch up of an evening or the perfect place for coffee, chat and cake in the day. Go and enjoy.

The best service and amazing cakes

This is a recently opened café that has fabulous range of teas and coffees, plus loads of great home-made cakes and pastries. I visited just before Christmas and enjoyed great turkey and brie panini plus wonderful home-made mince pie. Great place to call in after a walk, following school drop-off or just wanting light lunch.
