Caffe Romana in East Renfrewshire

Can't understand the good reviews, unless we were very unlucky. Firstly, on a positive note, the staff were lovely, very attentive and welcoming. No issues at all. Both my brother and I opted for a Scottish breakfast. Served one of each, bacon, potato scone, square sausage and fried egg, with toast. The only thing that got pass marks was the toast. Nice. Everything else was anemic. The potato scone looked like it was dipped in oil and served. Bacon had barely seen the pan/grill as was the sausage. Just disappointing. And at £8.00/head, not good value either.

Whilst on holiday up here and in this shopping centre decided to call in for drinks and cakes and what lovely friendly and helpful service from all the girls here and drinks and cakes so good and price fair as well.would visit again

Enjoyed a coffee and snack here during a quick visit. The coffee was excellent, the tables spotless and the service very good. It is in a fairly busy location and is quite noisy .

Always busy, this small cafe on Uddingston main street, is very prettily decorated and the welcome is friendly. There was a limited choice of cakes and scones to choose from. We had hot chocolate, soft drink, a quite dry fruit scone and an overly sweet cake square. The hot chocolate was huge and very pleasant. Wouldn't rush back.

Myself and my partner were in East Kilbride from Fort William to get the car serviced. Had 4 hours to kill so we came to East Kilbride shopping center. Hadn't had breakfast so we quite hungry. Came across Caffè Romana....Well what can I say... Lovely friendly staff, amazingly fresh sandwiches and the Chicken and rice soup was to die for... Amazing👌😉😊Thank you!😘

After a cinema visit my friend and i went here for coffee and a snack. The cafe holds a prime position in the middle of East Kilbride shopping centre. There is an extensive menu of Coffees,Teas, Soft drinks, breakfast rolls, baguettes, sandwiches and cakes. You would be hard to.please not to find something here. Prices are reasonable and staff are all lovely, friendly girls for whom nothing is too much trouble. If you are alone you can enjoy reading supplied newspapers in comfortable surroundings. Thoroughly recommended.

This is a lovely place for a lovely lunch or just a quick snacks. Tea scones and cakes. It is a must and the staff are friendly.

We first tried Caffe Romana for a break in the shopping routine just over a week ago. We enjoyed our coffee and tea with a slice of cake each. Pleasant service with a smile. that's good to get nowadays. The tea was most enjoyable for my wife ( a bit of a Tea Jenny) and the coffee was not too strong or too weak for me. A generous slice of cake each went down very well too. So we went back again this week and found that everything was just as good as the last time. Very reasonably priced too. It seems that this will be a regular haunt for us in the future.

Had lovely lunch followed by lovely tea and scones in pleasant surroundings and comfy seating. It is set in midst of busy shopping centre but is like a quiet oasis allowing you to people watch in comfort.

My son and I stopped here for a seat and a coffee. The cafe latte was the best I've ever had. It was a mellow non bitter coffee served at exactly the right temperature and in lovely matching cups and saucers. The tables and chairs were elegant and comfy. A perfect stop for much needef refreshment.

Food always fresh. Good range of lunch time selections ,both hot and cold.Serves breakfast alternatives. Scones heated,served with jam and cream. Lovely . Staff well mannered.

Wanted to try this cafe to see what it was like. Turned out ok. Food was nice though soup could have been warmer. You order and sit down and the wait for food to be brought - a very short wait. Only negative was the uninviting woman on the till. No I'll be with you in a second or sorry for your wait, just ignored me till she was ready to serve and then no please or thank you. The other staff seemed quite friendly though.
