Caffe Nero in Derry

Served by a very courteous amd polite trainee barista on our visit in July.. Nero should be proud of this member of staff as service is what makes or breaks a ln experience.

Not impressed.. gave it a second chance and still not impressed ! Tables dirty and dishes let uncollected, tired looking , in need of a revamp and more staff . To be fair the staff were very friendly and helpful but won’t be rushing back .

I’ve been to this Cafe Nero three times in two months and none of these visits have been positive. The queues are very long: it may take up to 10 mins before you can order. The card machine didn’t accept any of my cards, which was very inconvenient. The place isn’t clean as staff don’t appear to clear the tables. Last but not least, I couldn’t have a hot chocolate twice because they had ran out of cocao powder. You’d expect them to prepare for mot hot chocolate orders the weeks before Christmas... No idea why I wenr back twice, wouldn’t go again.

Went for a cup of coffee, the place is quite scruffy and several tables not cleaned from previous users. Majority of folk not wearing masks in spite of good signage in the cafe

Oh my sweet lord,list is the worst place on the planet yo have a relaxing break...my cup of coffee..was 61.o.Celcious, Had 2 gold wrapped biscuits ..priced at £8.00 each to my unknown appitite...£24 scanned off my card...NEVER EVER AGAIN ..PLACE WAS UNCOMFORTABLE AND DIRTY ALSO...

Will never be in any Caffè Nero again... Place was dirty/was told to clean table myself... But got good satisfaction when staff cleaned table... Avoid 🤔🤔🤔

Stood for 15 minutes ( in a queue of 3 people) coffee was ok but nothing special. Overpriced caramel square (small and £2!) No explanation for hold up! Wont be back any time soon. Staff unfriendly! Can get better and cheaper coffee elsewhere!

Awful service this evening 30.03.19 at crescent link. One of the rainbow haired girls knocked on water full flow and water sparked over the low wall onto myself and 2 friends while we were enjoying our coffees and didn’t even acknowledge that she did it! So rude . Not only this she came over and starting smacking cups and plates while clearing up our table even tho she didn’t ask if we were even finished!! Will definitely not be back. Such a pity as it was a lovely wee cafe to sit in!

I’m a regular here and in Nero Coleraine as I prefer Nero’s coffee to all others. The atmosphere in Derry is warm and welcoming and the lovely staff manage this without compromising in any way on efficiency and cleanliness. Coleraine staff should all be sent there for re-training!

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Nero this month with friends. There was plenty of choice between the range of food, drinks and seating. The service from staff is great and they prepare all of food and drink ordered in a quick manner. Nero caters to families, business people, students and groups of friends. I highly recommend Nero to all.

I visit multiple times a week and wouldn’t go anywhere else, reasonably price and staff always remember my order

Top marks. Spotless. Comfortable and well laid out. Then there was our coffees. Simply delicious. Super friendly staff. I can’t complement highly enough.

We called in on Saturday 2nd Sept. Had a cappuccino and a hot chocolate - no complaints about our drinks. (typical for price and quality of all such coffee shops) However, whilst waiting for drinks, had a good look around, oh dear! The mismatched furniture is, no doubt 'styled' as maybe retro or trying to look like a lounge - nice idea perhaps, but, alas, looks like it was 'sourced' from a charity shop or a tip somewhere - absolutely filthy. The sofas were sagging and worn with torn, worn and dirty upholstery. The seats which we chose first has chocolate on one of them and luckily we spotted it in time. I had to advise an elderly couple who were about to sit there and they left. The tables were dirty/sticky and had not seen a cloth in many a day. A good dose of disinfectant needed. Clean up your act Caffe Nero - your prices are high enough to train your staff how to clean properly ( and get rid of the tatty seating)

Staff were rude, over priced, honestly over all a horrible place for a snack and a hot drink, would rather drink white spirits than visit again

ALWAYS friendly staff, helpful, pleasant and kind - I always go here rather than the Starbucks in Foyleside. The coffee is good, the food is good and they sell San Pellegrino which is good!

Whenever I am in the city I always take a break in Cafe Nero for a nice cup of latte. Friendly staff, comfortable leather couches and double shot strong coffee happy days.. My last few visit I noticed that toilet was out of order for a while. I hope they've fixed the problem...

Probamos cada café de la ciudad. Bien digo cada café... La mayoría de ellos son postres en mi mente. Me gusta Americano (grande) y, en mi opinión, este es el mejor. Tiendas de café son tiendas de café en el mundo, pero lo que hace la diferencia es el personal. Agradable y rápido. Qué más se puede pedir.

Just another run of the mill coffee shop. Not great value for money and pretty forgettable coffee and unexceptional grub.

Personal encantador y amable que están más que atento. Gran café y una limpia y Hay una cafetería. que están orgullosos de mantener el nombre de Caffe Nero.

i like this place for its relaxed atmosphere and the very friendly staff. Its a nice place to sit and check your emails and have a chat with a friend, a variety of different seating is available and plenty of space, always clean too.

Called in for a snack during my lunch break. Ordered a Panini and coffee. The Panini, which was already prepared and only required toasting, had limited filling and definitely not worth the cost. Coffee ok but could get better elsewhere and cheaper.

Being a fussy coffee lover, I must say how much I enjoy visits to Nero . Has friendly efficient staff who are helpful and make an effort to say 'enjoy your coffee' which think is a nice touch in a cafe...Coffee is strong & made properly! Crema on americanos, smooth milk in flat whites, my two Nero favorites. I like that they always have good music on in the cafe, which adds to a nice relaxing atmosphere, although maybe a tiny bit too loud sometimes so it is more foreground music than background...but I'm a music fan so doesn't bother me. Great comfy loungy seating, attracts young funky business crowd but also shoppers and families. All in all a positive experience and somewhere you can relax, read the paper or a book over a coffee in pleasure!

Sometimes you need something stronger than hotel coffee. This store is in one of the malls on the bottom floor (lower part of the hill farthest away from the Diamond). My only regret is that they don't open as early as we get up.

Of the handfull of times i have been in here, twice i have walked out due to having to wait in the queue so long. Both of these occasions there have been no more than 3 people in front of me so unsure what the hold up would be. Also on both of those occasions no members of staff even attempted to make eye contact with me never mind speak, a simple " I'll be with you soon" can make all the difference. The times when i have actually been served the coffee has tasted burnt, which seems the norm from large chain companies.

Caffe Nero has been trading now for some months. A group of us met there recently one Saturday morning for coffee and a catch up. It's bright, spacious, warm and inviting with great staff and plenty of really comfortable chairs and couches you can sink into while enjoying your tea or coffee, reading a paper or just watching the world go by. Most definitely a welcome addition to the coffee culture of the city.
