Caffè Nero in Bath and North East Somerset

After a very pleasant day in Bath(Sunday the 20th) went to Nero for coffees and cakes with my daughter. Ordered all and politely asked if I could have my coffee on a "mug" (not on the paper cup )as it should be served!! The very unpleasant girl called Milly refused (saying the dishwasher was broken) even though a pile of mugs and cups where clean and ready on the top the machine. My point is, come on!(not hard to rinse 2 cups on the sink is it afterwards). Although I just went next door (Society cafe) and was absolutely fab. Don't waste your time at Nero.

Shocking customer service. Table were grubby. Floors were full of food. Flies all on cups on tables. Staff have no interest what so ever other than dancing and having loud conversations with themselves. Metis should look into what’s going on. We are paying customers and expect better. Thursday 17th October around 1.30/2pm.

Went here nice atmosphere but tables are soooo dirty

Always a swift serve for a hot chocolate and a nice window seat to people watch in a beautiful location for a minute

Food poisoning after food delivery which Uber have ignored

Bought pre-made food which was fine. Place seemed shabby and unkempt. Staff were rude to the point of being actively hostile. Used to come here lots, most likely will never go back. Whoever runs it doesn't care and it shows. Lots of much better places in Bath.

Really great coffee and a friendly team - Harrison was very kind yesterday. Beautiful building and space in excellent central location.

We were served by a man that was very rude and impolite. We were the only clients and was after lunch (not close to closing time) and we were rushed to order and leave, we werent even allowed to use the toilets.

Caffè Nero is my favorite coffee chain in the British Isles. They have tasty things and the locations are always pleasant. I like coming there. This time enjoyed the Iced Cappuccino.

Toilets are disgusting, terrible wifi and the plug sockets have no electricity...but nearly four quid for a cup of coffee. This place is getting worse than ever.

Always great coffee. This morning the team were a little over familiar and one left their colleague with queue out the door. The barista who was remaining, was very efficient, serving multiple people at a time.

Best Nero we've been in, great teamwork from a friendly team, we are sat in there now typing this review at 8am on a Thursday, it's calm, clean and the coffee is great. What more could you need 10/10

You can't really see in the pictures but this place is not kept clean. Added to which the baristas are not very good. Overheated the milk and made poor coffees. The Cafe Nero nearby is much better, so I recommend going to that one instead!

It’s really dirty, needs a big clean makes me feel ill

Well, they only make two drinks, coffee & tea. I don't know about the coffee, but the tea was just a weak liquid.

Clean those coffee machines. Coffee tastes terrible!

A Coffee Shop that does not meet expectations. The employees are sullen. coffee is cold. Hygiene is inadequate. This store needs attention.

The coffee is, without a lie, the worst I have ever tasted. I've had coffee all over the world and this is by far the least appetising. Tastes like some old geezers aromatic pipe tobacco that he found in the pocket of an ancient, mouldy raincoat. Three sugars didn't help. I drank about 1/5 of the cup and left embarrassed for the staff. I daresay they can make a good cup with the proper training and good beans. I reckon they overheat the milk, or the beans are cremated when they arrive. If you want the best coffee in England, go an extra few yards to ROSARIOS in the alleyway opposite the Guild Hall.

Disgusting. Hands down the most revolting toilet I’ve been in. Urine all over the floor, along with mud, toilet was filthy, toilet paper everywhere and no clean means to wash your hands. What an absolute disregard for customers and hygiene.

Let down by the cobwebs in the windows and filthy toilets .

3° outside and the air conditioning set to cold blowing on the customers. I asked for the temperature to be raised or vanes to be adjusted to a smaller degree. I was told it would take half an hour for them to adjust. Complete lies as I have the same system and it works instantly. When I questioned this I was ignored. Terrible service. Not to be recommended unless you have take away. Very disappointed.

It can be loud, noisy and chaotic at the top depending on heavy student 'occupation'. But the area is nice to sit and chill in when catching up with friends. In the center so good rest for shopping sprees and stuff. Simple coffees and other things. The food is okay... I think. I can never decide as I never eat all of it.

Customer is King is written above a dirty sink...rude server then joined by an even ruder one. Delivery orders are customers too. Very poor.

Went here today for a salted caramel frappe. It just tasted like milk could barely taste the salted caramel. The tables were really dirty and also the toilets. I wouldn't return here.

Value for money in Nero has disappeared!! £4.20 for a small frappe mocha full of air a bubbles. Will stick to Costa in future

Tried the new Pistachio cheesecake-creamy and delicious.After trying the pistachio, Lemon cheesecake was a bit too sour for my liking. Cappuccino was also great.

1st floor, 50% of the seating is unusable due to the stench from the toilets. As a food service establishment it really isn’t acceptable

Excellent coffee and good service

Not been to a Caffè Nero before, and to be honest, won't be rushing back. Cakes were very nice, and average price. However, we ordered milkshakes, only to find the glass was about a third filled with ice cubes. Not a fan of watered down milk, and not good value for money there.

Basic pastry and premade sandwiches for carry out. Plenty of indoor seating upstairs that is a quiet respite from the throngs of tourists just 1 block away.

Clean, spacious, good coffee. Phone signal not good in back of shop tho.

The most bitter, bland cappuccino I've had in ages. Not worth it. Go to Society Café next door

A go to place for drink and snack in my book. Always reliable in every town. This one is in a very architecture rich area of Bath so feast on that!

Great Neros on the corner of 'The Corridor' in Bath. Great tasting coffee plus teacake. I found a seat on the high tables with a view of Bath Abbey. It was stunning.

Staff friendly, good coffee, but consistently the worst toilets of any restaurant/coffee shop, cafe Nero, are always dingy, dirty, poorly maintained.

Little bit cramped to enjoy. If you sit by the windows people always going past to exit.

Been here a couple of times for a takeaway coffee. I'm an awkward soul who has one of those odd orders... Service has always been excellent, coffee had been very good - and that's decaff! - and the food very nice. I see others have had bad experiences with toilets and cleanliness - can't comment on those aspects. My only negative would be that there was very little vegetarian or vegan food choice when I went in. It was a little late in the day, though, so maybe I just missed out.

Why is it that cleaning the kit is more important to serving queuing customers? 3 staff. Only one serving. Unimpressed. I do r blame the staff. It’s more likely the management not training the staff.

The barista was excellent considering she was basically running the whole thing by herself. The lattes were good too! Also a fab spot for people watching.

My partner was greeted by a man in the toilet who had not closed the door and was fully on show! This is very inappropriate. The toilets were absolutely filthy and considering it’s Boxing Day and they have only just opened that can only mean that they haven’t been cleaned since Christmas Eve. Just before we left my dog was eating something and it turned out to be a massive ball of hair which she found on the floor! Not a very good experience at all. I’m sure it’s just a one off because they reviews of this cafe are very high but we are massively put off and won’t be in a rush to come back.

As a massive Neros fan this is the worst I've ever visited. Cramped area to queue for service, unwelcoming and the whole place was just grubby. A clear lack of staff, don't mention the toilets. Never again.

Beautiful place, good music, open till late. Coffee could be better, but for a franchise, this is as good as it gets!

Wanted an early movie bring coffee and this was perfect. Greeted with a smile, quick service and the coffee was hot and spot on.

We are lovers of Caffè Nero and regularly use them at least weekly visited Bath from Salisbury and oh my god what a difference poor non existent customer service no smile stale cake One trainee barista working two regular colleagues doing nothing apart from pretending to look busy avoid at all costs!!! Very over priced very bitter coffee I would definitely not go there rubbish

Not relaxing as so dirty. Toilets are a total cesspit. About as appealing as a bout of dysentery… which is probably what you’ll end up with after a visit here.

Had a good, quick large cappuccino to take away, did the trick, will go back!

How are they getting away with a 5 star review form the council when the place is just filthy? All Caffè Nero’s are the same in Bath. Not a clean one amongst them. This particular Caffè Nero has no soap or towels in the toilet.

It's been a while since I've visited Cafe Nero. But back on the role!!! And loving it.

Staff was friendly and nice and thats the only reason I give 2 stars. Place was FILTHY: dirty mugs, tables not wiped, sofa chairs dirty and covered in food residues, floors with HOLES! I was not expecting this. And this isn't the first time this has happened! Do they ever clean here?! I had to wipe the table myself and that's the tissue I've used...

Nice staff and well presented drinks. However, there is a marked difference between shabby chic and dirty….sadly this was more of the latter. It needs a bloody good clean throughout and don’t get me started about the toilets….absolutely disgusting. Sorry but you need to up your game guys.

The staff are a credit to this Nero's, I can't remember her name but the young student with the amazing color hair is so knowledgeable and hard working!!

The toilets at this cafe were disgusting , no one seems to hit the toilet no hand towels the place was disgusting needs a good clean or shutting down. Very disappointing 😞

Like so many it needs a good clean, not the staffs fault as I only saw 2 staff. I wish big corporate companies would get in separate cleaning companies, especially after we've had covid19.

Our experience wasn’t great at cafe Nero on Sunday morning 29th May 2 young girls on shift one very clearly had got out the wrong side of the bed that morning with a rude attitude and the other who was training and was clearly being spoken to rudely by the other member of staff felt very sorry for the girl who was training as the other girl rolled her eyes at her right in front of my partner and I!
