Caffe Nero in Epping Forest

Been using this coffee shop for a number years but unfortunately some of the staff really let this establishment down recently How hard can it be to get a coffee that’s not boiling hot and when politely asked to change it the attitude is terrible

After being closed because of the lockdown its so good to see Cafe Nero open again. It's the best cup of coffee in Epping. A big welcome from the excellent staff as well.

They still make a very good coffee but the place needs a complete refurbishment. Furniture is old and damaged and the toilets need a complete makeover. There's lots of places to have coffee in Epping and Cafe Nero need to think about this. More staff would also help. Service is slow, tables are not cleared quickly for new customers.

I took a chance and ventured once again into Caffe Nero. Regrettably, it is still very dusty, with newspapers strewn around. The table surface was sticky and everything looked rather grubby. The coffee wasn't the best in Epping and neither was the welcome. Give this place a miss, there are much better in Epping.

It is almost a year since I went into Nero's and the report I gave then was very similar to now. The welcome was cool, the place looked a bit grubby, the tabletop was sticky and there were bits of paper and dropped food on the floor. If this is the standard that Nero's deliver, I will give this coffee shop a miss again for a further year.

We arrived in Epping so decided to pop into Caffè Nero was fairly busy my husband went to sit down while I was queuing only 2 people in front But to our disgust there was a man with a ladder right in the middle of the shop CLEANING OUT THE AIR CON UNIT !! Omg the dust & bacteria was flying everywhere @ this point we decided not to have a drink here & leave I’m sorry in a food / drink establishment there should not be a man cleaning the air con !! This is just not good !!!

My wife visited with my grandson for a coffee and treats for the little boy. For some reason the manager refused to serve her, cally her a "mental case", repeatedly in front of staff and customers. She was dreadfully upset by the experience. She was perfectly amenable to staff and did not deserve this treatment. Fortunately, she is perfectly rational but I dread to think of the effect this behaviour would have had on anyone with real issues. Disgraceful.

Lovely team of staff with the exception of one senior person who is rude and obnoxious and has the team in tears from time to time. The girls are trying really hard but are clearly massively thin staff-wise which means the Qs build up and things slip in spite of their best efforts. The thing that is not in their control is the tremendously poor state that the shop is in - it needs a MAJOR re-fit. The washrooms are just about hanging on for dear life and the general surroundings need a proper makeover. You can't clean something that is beyond repair and expect it to stand up to scrutiny. The drinks - good. Pastries - off and off (one day OK, next day under-cooked) so that's a training issue or an oven that needs throwing out. It's a shame for Caffe Nero and the (nice) girls as they have a good bunch of loyal regulars in spite of all of this.

The welcome was polite but certainly not friendly. The coffee was average but the surroundings were untidy and the floors had dropped food and bits of paper scattered around and the table was sticky. There are much better coffee houses than Neros in Epping where the staff smile, the coffee is fuller flavoured and the surroundings are not grubby.

Nice coffee but limited food options, always had good service. The back of the restaurant is depress, there is a lot of wasted space at the front which would be better utilised for seating as it has the best light.

Such a shame. I love Caffè Nero normally. Ordered a flat white and a cortado. Although they tasted ok they were not how they should be. The milk was thin not creamy on top. The sugar should sink slowly into the cup. My cortado was just a white coffee in a small glass. Such a shame as the venue is lovely and staff were really very friendly. I think they need more training.

Visited Cafe Nero, Epping today with my family. Whilst sat there your eyes look at the toilet door. It’s filthy! Red paint showing through and dirty grained in grime which has obviously not been cleaned for a very long time. Glancing down to the floor around the edges of the floor was pure filth. Sorry Cafe Nero with the tables not wiped, grubby surroundings this coffee shop is not clean enough for my family! Will not recommend.

I decided to try Caffe Nero when I was working in Epping recently. I'm so glad I did, the hot chocolate is so nice, much nicer than the hot chocolate I get in the coffee shop I usually go in. And the staff are really friendly. I was so impressed I took my partner to try the coffee, he loved it. So we are now Caffe Nero converts, unfortunately there isn't one where we live, but we visit as often as we can.

Ignore the bad reviews this place is the Bom Diggy. Really Really nice staff super clean toilets. Always places to sit. This Cafe Nero sets the benchmark for others. I really like the layout and the quiet spaces. It is almost on the same level as wework when it comes to nice spaces.

We visit Caffè Nero regularly as unlike other coffee shop chains, they welcome dogs. The service is always efficient and friendly and staff are warm and attentive. Highly recommended

Always good and friendly, quick to be served. Value for money with added bonus of reward scheme. Long opening hours to suit those who are not 9-5 or ladies who lunch.

I hate to moan about any type of establishment but having tried to have a coffee and a snack here on 3 occasions, I have finally given up, its understaffed, tables and floor filthy, service slow. They wont be seeing me again

I had a cup of Hot Chocolate & it was quite a big cup. I don't normal drink in coffee shops but this was a nice treat. I was in there about 8.30am so was quite quiet. Friendly & polite staff.

We always visit this popular coffee shop with family and find staff very friendly. Quality of their coffee is always very good. Good selection of food and drinks and nice atmosphere.

I visited this cafe a number of times and it has always been my favourite in the area. Unfortunately it seems that staff is overworked most of the time, compare to the competition(such as Costa). I would encourage the management to hire additional help at busy times to deal with the cleanliness and general help around the shop. The staff can and is at most times very cold and uncommunicative apart from the manager and maybe one other lady who works there. The cleanliness can be a bit 'hit and miss' sometimes.

My favourite coffee shop in Epping. Excellent service, great coffee and delicious cheesecake. A place to relax, read a paper and enjoy a coffee.

staff are very friendly, drinks can be expensive for what they are, but when you want to just chill you can and not get pestered to leave, if any problems staff deal with them efficiently and quickly, could be a bit more variety on the food side

I like this Nero as the layout is spacious and it is generally very clean. Staff are welcoming and I feel equally at home here with friends or with family (including young children). Coffee is variable, sometimes it seems stronger than other times. My only criticism is that the aircon can be quite cold at times.

By far the best coffee shop in Epping. Fantastic service ( so friendly) and perfect coffee. The muffins aren't so bad either :-)

Was not impressed. Tables was dirty. Floor had not been cleaned. Very shabby. Although the coffee was good but it was spoilt by the shabbiness of the place

Relax into a deep leather sofa, sip a milk foam cappuccino whilst nibbling an almond croissant and the shoulders relax instantly. Service is always friendly and quick and pastries tasty! My favourite coffee stop.Steve

Great for that coffee whilst shopping, or out for a stroll with family or friend, great seating with plenty of room.

As someone with a buggy, I really like this cafe. The staff are lovely and the space is well used, so I can easily sit with my daughter in her buggy beside me. The food and drink is too expensive (but it's the same in all the branded cafes). However, I like the way they have newspapers to read. In my opinion, it's the nicest cafe in Epping.

Good atmosphere but poor hygiene & service often cold - saw flies near the counter on at least two occasions. Tables are not properly cleaned after the last customer/s sat there, trays are very dirty :(

In my opinion the best coffee shop in the area. Every member of staff is so friendly, polite and efficient. Quality of the drinks and food never disappoints. Despite many other cafes and coffee shops in Epping High St, Caffe Nero is the only option for me.
