Caffe Concerto New Stratford in Newham

Booked a table online for 1pm, was waiting outside for ages before we got begrudgingly given a table which turned out to be extremely wobbley. Slow service, nothing came out together just at random. we ordered arancini balls which came out extremely burned we questioned this with the waitress Modesta who looked at us, then the food and literally walked away without saying anything, we then told this to the manager who just told us she was busy. absolutely dreadful service

Food hard and cold. SERVICE POOR. Most staff didn't know the menu at all and had to keep confirming order, and still wrong. Staff had no idea what was in the afternoon teas the different choices in sides. Spend your money else where

Awful service. Empty restaurant. Plates not cleared from table. Our first course plates stayed on our table even after our dessert was served. Tea served no sugar or condiments offered. The audacity to charge so much and leave dirty plates on customers tables as they are dessert.. one of servers was sorting cutlery for a whole 90 mins - the noise he generated was exceptional - zero class dining

It was utterly terrible, it took 45 minutes for our food to arrive and when it did, it was wrong! They took another 10 minutes to get it right and it was mediocre at best! It was an abysmal experience.

Called in for breakfast and sadly won’t be visiting again. It started off well, a lovely man called Usman, who initially indicated as we didn’t have a reservation he couldn’t accommodate us inside, but could outside, (we declined, it was freezing) asked us to wait and found us a table inside. Breakfast is on the more expensive side, at £17 for a vegan breakfast and £17 for a salt beef breakfast but it’s such a beautiful looking restaurant we were happy to pay as we appreciate the area and quality food, coffee is £4.95. Our food arrived and the beans, in separate pots were cold, as in freezing cold like they had been poured in from the tin. My husband called the nearest member of staff, a lady called Maria. Maria asked “are you sure they are cold?” To which my husband replied “yes, I’ve just tried them” she said “they are as we serve them and no one else is complaining” And she looked around the other diners! My husband repeated we don’t eat cold beans and asked her to warm them up. She reluctantly took them away, returned quickly and said “try now” and stood there. My husband tried again and they were still cold. So he said they are still cold, she rolled her eyes and asked him to try them again! He said I have! And tried them again for a second time in front of her. To this she tutted and said “I did them myself”. I intervened at this stage as Maria was clearly not impressed with her bean warming skills being politely challenged, so, I said leave it, I looked at my husband and said just leave it, at this stage, the less than pleasant Maria said “If you want me to do them again, I will” and I said, no thank you just leave them. And leave them we did. We paid about £50 for the breakfasts, a tea and a coffee and I’m guessing an added service charge we didn’t notice before leaving. Not recommending this place. Customer service is a must and food that is meant to be hot. Should be served hot.

Having been to this restaurant a few times arranged to meet friends again. Have to say it's gone downhill. Staff didn't seem to understand what we were saying. We had to repeat everything at least twice and/ or remind them when they forgot to bring things we'd asked for. My seafood risotto was tasty and plentiful, but the mussels were just shells. When I complained, they offered me more prawns, but to be honest, the prawns weren't all that either. No offer to reduce the bill. The salads seemed good. As usual, wine prices seem to have rocketed, so 70 pounds was quite an expensive lunch, including a 12.5 per cent service charge, which we paid but wasn't really deserved

I am very disappointed with my food! And if i could give a 0 points I would. I changed my food twice and I was still disappointed. The food was below average and was terrible. I would never go back there. Avoid

Food was good but not much of it, considering that the price of 2 people for afternoon tea comes to nearly £66! Here are my observations: Not asked if we had any allergies by staff Seated by the manager but couldn't understand a word he said Hot drinks were not topped up (for the price it should have been bottomless) A 'thimbleful' of clotted cream to be distributed between 4 scones The sandwiches and cakes were very limited Not asked if everything was okay by staff during the experience In my opinion, this fancy restaurant, which charged a lot and had a luxurious atmosphere, didn't live up to its high prices because of the lack of food which made the overall experience disappointing.

A dreadfully overpriced and very poor quality lunch. The meagre Salt Beef Foccacio was a travesty at £21.95 The watery chicken burger also at £21.95 was not much better Cappuccinos at £5.25 a pop. 12.5 % service charge added to the bill.

Rude staff, overpriced , £24 for burger and chips , the burger was poor quality and the small portion of fries were cold. my friends chicken burger was so dry she couldn’t eat it. We didn’t pay the 12.5 % that was already on the bill and got made to feel like criminals! Avoid this place, there so many other places in Stratford that do good lunchtime deals

We visited for a work team lunch. The waitress was not aware of the set menu, so once we were told we couldn't order from that as it didn't start until 5pm, we put in our order from the main menu. Absolutely shocked at the prices, we hoped for something amazing. Unfortunately the waitress didn't seem to have a pen and paper so struggled to remember our order. Once the food arrived we were not pleasantly surprised. The chicken burger was so dry and cold, served with cold fries. We were not offered any sauces and despite not being overly busy we were unable to get the attention of waitress. I noticed other tables had also not finished their food. When the waitress came to collect our plates I advised her that my food was very cold and dry. She told me that she would 'ask the chef' After waiting, we then asked for bill. There was no mention of my comments about the food. We decided not to pay the service charge. On leaving we thanked our waitress and she responded with a cold stare. Needless to say we won't be going back. Such a shame as stepping inside, the decor and menu prices suggest you are in for something special.

Inedible food, so much vinegar in the dressing that it’s burnt my tongue and I like vinegar. I couldn’t finish my meal because I couldn’t even feel my tongue, after telling the staff they still charged me for the whole meal! Won’t eat here again!

We needed some sustenance before shopping and Caffe Concerto certainly hit the spot. Six of us visited last Saturday morning and we were all pleased with our brunch meals. Two of us had the garden breakfast, one had omelette, one had pancakes, one eggs benedict and the last had a salmon and avocado tartine. Coffees were delicious and the waiter, Usman, took our orders and remembered every last detail. We enjoyed it so much we went back on the Sunday morning and did it all over again! The restaurant was very busy so we had to sit in the covered area outside but there were heaters overhead and blankets - so we were warm enough. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Total cost when we split the bill was £25 each (including the 12.5% service charge) but we didn't need any lunch - and couldn't even manage coffee and cake mid afternoon as we were still full up. Definitely recommend.
