Caffe Concerto in City of London, Westminster

We were visiting London last week & were looking for somewhere in the evening for just a hot drink and maybe a dessert. We were warmly greeted by Sulo, who offered us the option of going upstairs as there was music. It was my friends 60th Birthday & the pianist played Happy Birthday (twice in fact !). We enjoyed our hot drinks & dessert, and were so relaxed in the lovely atmosphere (it was Valentines evening !!), that we opted to stay even longer & each had a cocktail. We all remarked what a lovely evening we had, the Staff were lovely, the atmosphere wonderful & food & drink were great too. Will definitely call again when in London. Highly recommend!

Nice location, nicely presented, well decorated and clean. There is outdoor and indoor seating over two floors. To be honest it looks like any other Caffe Concerto in London and boasts the same could not really care less attitude from the staff, overpriced food, cold coffee and staggering cost as the rest of them. Quite why I bother going into these places I have no idea, I always think it has to be better. All of them live off the tourist trade, in other words people who are unlikely to return. So, if you want four coffees and two small pieces of average cake, hotly pursued by a bill for £42.00.... this is the place for you. Rated average based on my previous experience of these restaurants.

Over-priced, underwhelming I had eggs Benedict - zero effort, dry muffins, undercooked eggs, lovely hollandaise, on a big empty plate. She had garden breakfast- big lumps of rye bread stacked with halloumi, avo and eggs. Underwhelming and so expensive.

My husband and I both got the mushroom risotto and it was very good, but I asked for a Margarita and the first server (we had different ones) thought I asked for a Margherita Pizza, I guess he didn't understand their drink menu. When I did get my drink, it wasn't a margarita and I only had a couple sips. The desserts, while they looked delicious tasted a little freezer burnt. It's a beautiful place, but a little lacking in organization.

Went here with my daughter for a Mother's day treat, and we really enjoyed it, staff were very good, friendly, efficient and attentive, especially Nassim, who was our waiter. Food was very nice, cakes delicious, we had ordered prosecco and asked for a fruit puree to sweeten it, which we weren't charged for. Really felt, with the voucher, this was good value. Bought some cakes to take away (cherry frangipane, and 2 x gluten free carrot cake) for a total of 13.05 so felt that was fair value for London prices.

The place looks very good but sadly the service is terrible. Orders take too long. I think it’s more an organizational thing.

Very nice afternoon tea. Teapots could have been bigger Food was delicious, apart from one overcooked scone, But we both found the staff to be very off hand and not very pleasant or attentive! Maybe it was because we were having tea on a pre paid voucher!

We called in while on our way to see a show. While it was quick to get seated and ordered, it was a bit disappointing when our order came out as the incorrect item had been sent out. When we pointed this out to the waitress she initially disagreed with us until we made it very clear that it was wrong. The correct food finally came out BUT we did have to chase this on more than one occasion which resulted in 1 of us eating our lunch and then other other persons food arriving when we had finished so effectively we were together but ate separately. While both meals where very tasty, the experience is a little disappointing

This place looked promising from the street - clean, well decorated and popular. We were seated promptly, arriving at about 12:30pm. It took some time for our order to be taken and even longer for it to arrive. My latte had been sitting in the counter for awhile and consequently, it was just warm on serving. My wife’s cappuccino was hot however. The main disappointment was the waiter’s attitude. It was as if he really could not be bothered. The food itself was ok: the minestrone soup was good, the avocado and chicken sandwich was also good but the experience was spoiled by the server’s indifference. Finally, and it was indicated on very small print on the menu, there was a “discretionary “ 12.5% service charge added to an already fairly expensive bill. Overall, I would not recommend this place but YRMV.

I have been to another cafe concerto where I had very positive experience and I was expecting to have the same there. Unfortunately my chocolate cake was not fresh at all. Even the taste was not good. The cafe was very clean and modern but food disappointed me.

I went for a quick lunch with a pal, hoping for a chai cream tea but chai wasn't on the menu (fair enough, maybe they don't do anymore - I haven't been in years) so opted for something else. The prices seemed unreasonably high for most of it. Shakshuka was the best part of 20 quid and that's just a basic meal. Opted for the cheese, tomato and ham club sandwich. This was a mistake. It was so basic. The tomatoes might have been from the reduced section of a tesco express. The ham was barely better than your wafer thin family pack class and the cheese? Oh the cheese. Why do you hate cheese so much, chef? Such a poor choice of cheese. All accompanied by a sad wee side salad. Overall a bit retro in effort to be honest. I wouldn't even make myself a sandwich that poor at home. The fries were nice though. It could be so much better with a little effort but the place clearly just cares about about the non-returning tourist crowd. Dazzle them in with the shiny new building and luxury prices (your fur coat) then flash them with the wet lettuce (yer nae knickers).

Lovely decor but that’s where the experience stops. Dirty floors, average food, hugely overpriced (£4.50 for a tea) and the staff by and large were incredibly rude. Avoid at all costs.

Accessible entrance at side. No signage at main door. Odd decor. Horrendous chandeliers. Both had English breakfast. One very dry sausage, one rasher. Dry toast. Undercooked tomato. £16 each.

We were shown to our table, given menus, but just ordered hot and cold drinks. Other tables came in after us and ordered food and drink, which they got, but we still had nothing. After half an hour, I went up to the counter/till to make them aware we were still waiting. A member of staff said they would see what was happening. After another 2 tables came in and got served, we left. We spoke to a manager on the way out and he said they were busy “sorry”.

The service was appalling - it was slow and not helped by the staff not completely understanding English. We repeatedly asked for tap water and were told they had no jugs just glasses which they were super reluctant to provide! We had to ask for everything more than once. Food was outrageously priced and not that good. They charge an "optional" 12.5% service charge which none of my party paid as it was in no way merited. There are so many other better places to go in the area so unless you are a massive cake lover I would avoid completely.

We treated ourselves to cake and coffee here and although most of the staff were great, the server we had could have been a little better. After looking at the vast choice of cakes on the menu I spotted a cake in the display cabinet...

We were seated promptly then ignored for 15 minutes before anyone came to take our order. Our request for tap water was ignored. Food was served promptly and was tasty, but over-priced as was the coffee (again, we had to ask twice before it arrived)....
