Caffe Carlo in Woking

I had the best English breakfast of my life. Afterwards, they brought us two delicious Sicilian cannoli that transported me to Sicily. 100% recommended!

Twice last month we had to hang around in Byfleet on cold damp days for several hours whilst waiting for repairs to be done on my car. It was not a district we knew as we live in Somerset so we had asked at the garage if there was anywhere nearby we could go for a coffee or lunch. They suggested Carlo’s. What a lucky find! Not only was the coffee good but the home made italian pastries were delicious. We sat there for some time soaking in the scent of Italian foods being cooked and watching people coming and going- being greeted with smiles and cheerfulness by the couple who own the cafe. We got chatting with them and decided that if we had to return to the garage we would definitely go back there. Three weeks later we were back this time having a four hour wait for the car. We were welcomed at Carlo’s - to our surprise we were remembered! This time we had a most delicious freshly cooked breakfast, several coffees and soft drinks and bought numerous Panettone which were for sale alongside many other Italian goodies displayed in the cafe. The kindness we were shown was heartwarming, we were under no pressure to leave or to keep buying food or drinks ( actually it was hard not to keep eating their tasty food!) and were able to stay there until the car was ready. I would recommend Carlo’s to anyone who enjoys fresh, home cooked tasty Italian food, and appreciates a warm and friendly atmosphere.
