Cafe Zest in West Dunbartonshire

The food was very underwhelming and overpriced for the low quality. My partner was unable to finish her food as it was very bland and tasteless. This was a pre-packaged sandwich from the chiller and lentil soup. The high chairs were all filthy. On the plus side the younger members of staff were helpful. I don’t think we will be going back here.

Got cappuccino and Danish pastry....allegedly!! The worst Danish pastry I've tasted , more like a fekn cake definately not a Danish pastry get a grip zest !!! Not to mention tiny cup with disgusting coffee ,first time here brought family on here on holiday ffs thanks!!! Never again

Saddly, we visited this cafe. The lady whom I can only assume was the manager, in a very abrupt way, marched us to a seating area, never asked if that was OK. The coffee was just awful and tasteless. The soup was OK, and for the price, was in a child size bowl. Toasted cheese and tuna melt was tasteless and was warm just about.

Coffee awful and a doughy scone with jam would not encourage a second visit. Best feature is the view on a good day.

It was a wait to get food but the Mac and Cheese was stunning. Scone was a little dry butbthe coffee was nice.

Staff were lovely and accomidating, food is exactly what youd want for a quick lunch and you get what you pay for! Everything done to a high quality and a great selection all round!

Stopped off here for breakfast. It was fine, the service was fast and the food was good.

Sat at concourse table overlooking loch, enjoying coffee and cakes. Beautiful view on beautiful day .Weather makes all the difference.29/3/24, much colder than last visit but Coffee and cake as good as ever.

Down on the Loch Lomond shores. A good spot for a bite of lunch. Scone and nice homemade soup were delicious and good quality. It’s also dog friendly which was perfect for us.

Cafe in a small rundown shopping mall on the shores of Loch Lomond, the view over the loch being its main attraction. Seating was very uncomfortable and cushions on our seats were dirty. The floors too had not been cleaned in a while with some very dubious marks on the floor. However the worst part was the awful smell hanging in the air - presumably from something cooked earlier in the day and gone stale. Luckily we only wanted a cup of tea so didn't stop long.

Website said that Cafe was open until 5pm. We arrived at 3.55pm and we heard another couple being told that it was already closed. No sign to indicate change of hours. Is it closed after 3.30pm or what time?

Essen war echt nicht sonderlich gut und zudem kalt. Überall türmte sich Geschir auf den Tischen welches über eine Stunde nicht abgeräumt wurde.

Being vegetarian the menu is so poor egg mayonnaise sandwich and that was it. Bacon with everything! So we walked back out.

Very tasty snacks, meals and drinks. My Earl Grey tea was tea leaves not a teabag, very nice surprise. Friendly and helpful staff. Very big free car park.

Nice view from cafe of Loch Lomond, nice coffee and tasty cakes. Limited seating, service can be slow on occasions but overall a really nice lunch/cake spot.

Great little cafe attached to the shopping center. Haddock was good as was the soup of the day, small but tidy and well kept, good for a little bite for lunch and such.

Delicious scones with clotted cream and jam. Coffee is good too. A wee bit pricey but worth it. Nice view over the Loch. Dog friendly.

Food was very good but I would like to praise the staff for their assistance when my wife suddenly took Ill this morning they went above their call of duty and I cannot thank them enough

Lovely clean restaurant. Dogs allowed, which I don’t agree with but I can’t help that. Table opposite fed dog from the plate he was eating from. Waitress was not at all bothered and just shrugged her shoulders. Won’t be back!!

very nice café. not too costly. serves all course meals. i had breakfast here. soft roll with 3 choices of filling. tea and coffee both were great. the view of the Loch Lomond and the beach area ⛱️ 🏖️ from the café is magnificent ❤️ great service as well ✨

We visited this cafe when at the Lomond Shores Outlets. Wheelchair accessible from both the shop and the concourse. Friendly staff. Service was a bit slow but that was mainly due to the volume of customers. Snacks and meals reasonably priced. Tables cleared promptly.

Good cafe on Loch Lomond shores, with great view. There was no hot food at that time (3 pm, I guess), just coffee and sweets. There was no outdoor setting area, knowing that it would have been wonderful if available. Good indoor settings, and they have a wide variety of sweets, pastry, and cakes. Good choice since there were very few choices of restaurants.

We arrived at 16:40 and we're told that they were closed so no chance to try the food or drinks. The opening and closing times don't appear on the doors etc, so I can't confirm the actual opening times. Shame, as it looks quite nice.

Disgusting a member of staff was all over 2 we dogs then carried on fixing the cutlery never never washed her hands first disgusting I told her I was going to report this incident to which she started raising her voice to me which the other dinners heard never be back i am taken my complaint further disgusting

The staff are usually really helpful and friendly. They were a huge help when it came to allergies and the gentleman made sure everything was checked and correct. It's usually very very busy so best to keep it in mind. Not hugely child friendly and may be too overwhelming for those on the spectrum

Nice place to stop with a view to the loch before taking a walk

We only had coffees and cake.The coconut and chocolate slice was expensive and too dry.Coffees were fine. Staff very helpful and friendly. The view onto Loch Lomond is the best.

-Bad smell from Bins and unclean tables -Hot food stopped serving at 3pm not 3.30pm like the signs advise -Dirty cutlery We have been to this cafe a few times now. Each time we have been the tables have been cluttered with dishes and food left by other customers and the bin area at the rear smells of rotten food and is wafting through the cafe. I brought this up to the staff member on the till and was advised this was due to it being busy that day, however this does not cause the smell of rotten garbage. I believe that this hasn’t been cleaned properly for some time. We also came into the cafe around 1pm to check the time of closing as we wanted to go to the aquarium first. The time on the signs advised hot food stops serving at 3.30pm. We returned to the cafe at 3pm and were advised that they were no longer serving hot food. This was a big disappointment as we had checked in advance. The team members behind the counter were running around as if they were In a rush to clean up and close and it was very off putting. I checked the time issue with the member of staff at the counter and was advised the sign was wrong. Which I don’t believe. The cafe was busy so if they close at 5pm they should be offering hot food past 3pm. Doesn’t make any sense. Another issue was the dirty cutlery. Overall mediocre food/sandwiches. Cold chips. Bad smell from the bins. Next time we won’t be eating here.

Food and coffee great. Seat with view down Loch beautiful. Had super toasties, I had cheese & ham, good coffee and a fine piece. What's not to like?

Came here for a quick lunch with kids. Couldn't fault our experience, food was served quickly and friendly service. We chose halloumi burger, beef burger and kids boxes, all tasted fine. Would come again. Parking for the whole area was a bit confusing at first.

An excellent cafe, offering something for everyone, a snack, full meal, coffee n cake, kids food. You name it, it was available. Lovely

Very expensive in comparison to other restaurants and cafes that sell similar teas, coffee and scones. Was very busy with a large slow moving queue. Exacerbated by a dog event and owner allowing dogs in. One had pooped at a table that was closed off for some time till someone got round to cleaning it up. Our table was dirty with a tray of used crockery on it which we did our best to sort as there was no one about clearing tables. The scones were nice though their large latte was quite small in size.

A bit pricey, got my other half a fruit scone that was over £3 it was that bad my other half didn't even eat it, it was very, very dry and stale, won't be back anytime soon.

Not a bad place if you are visiting Balloch and looking for a quick bite and some warm drink. Make sure you check opening times for the kitchen as it seems to close very early on a Sunday. Wide selection of cakes and pastries.

Had been wanting jacket potato all week and finally got to eat one here. It was superb! Lovely simple cafe environment but really good food. Highly recommended... 👍👍🙂

Nothing out of the ordinary, tables were slow to be cleared and no real routine for serving, bit of a disappointment.

Nice view when sitting outside, but the coffee was really bad. The best thing about it is the location with a nice walks in the area.

We've been customers here for years ( except during lockdown of course) and the quality and service have never been anything but excellent with fair pricing.

Coffee and scones were good. Service at counter was perfunctory, not overly friendly or smiling and lots of tables needing cleaned. Tables outside were being put away and when I asked if they were closing they said no but felt as if it was so no atmosphere.

I had a Loch Lomond burger and it was great. The chilli jam really brought it together and it was wonderful. I also had a Apple Tart which was also nice. Would recommend :) It also has lovely views of the loch.

There are a limit places to eat at Loch Lomond shores. Reasonable choice of food. It was counter service only and they seemed to be tripping over themselves. All that said, food was nice. I'd go again. 🤔🤓🤓💖

Quite dreadful, menu isn’t expansive. All staff rude. Place seems run down, as if there was a big meteor had taken everyone out except this place.

Great food, lovely scenery, very clean , reasonably priced. They do kids boxes, sandwiches etc, or kids hot meals such as mac in cheese& chips etc, good adult meal choice, loved the white choc caramel cake, delicious. Would recommend a visit. Dogs are welcome inside the cafe also, always a bonus.

Very low quality food, over fried and greasy fries, industrial food not worth it.

School cafeteria style dining The atmosphere is very nice, but the cutlery wasn't very clean so we had to make do with wooden knives instead We got fish and chips (9.50 each portion) which contained very little fish, which was quite dry and flavourless, and mostly batter! Wouldn't recommend this, definitely get another option if you are visiting Prices are not expensive but not cheap either. Photo shows how much excess batter there was

Had a fruit scone and coffee. Easily the best fruit scone ever! Warm and crumbly, superb. Staff extremely friendly and the views, to die for.

Lovely 🌝. Popped in for a lunch and had a great meal. Hubby had the chicken escalope and I had the macaroni. Both hot and very tasty. Treated ourselves then to a cheesecake and fruit scone and they were both a treat. Staff very friendly and very welcoming to various customers from old to young and those with physical challenges. Tables and dirty dishes cleared in a timely manner. Good covid19 measures in place. Looking forward to going back.

Although I went many malls coffee shops but this is the best weather on food quality or the dealing.

Went here for lunch last week. As soon as the cafe got busy we had a queue of customers right next to our table. Customers were right next to the table with no masks. Staff didn’t ask customers to comply with social distance guides….. really quite an uncomfortable experience. We complained, but staff were not interested.

I like a walk at Loch Lomond Shores, unfortunately this cafe is closed during Covid restrictions.

Perfectly located right inside the central mall near Lock Lomond, Balloch, this is just the place you need after a nice long stroll while roaming around the beautiful place that Balloch is. While it is usually swarmed by the locals, it also attracts a lot of tourist crowd. The staff is friendly and their service is great! While the cafe has a lot of sweet bakes and sandwiches as options, they also provide for amazing coffee and food deals that are really pocket friendly and unmissable. We had a ham sandwich and hot baked potato with beans and cheese on a cold winter day while touring the place and can say it was one of the best lunches we had had. Generous in portions, the meals were quite filling and delicious! A must visit cafe

Lunch and a priceless stunning view ☘️ Food was amazing and delicious , feels like home made . Staff members are very attentive and friendly. Android pay is working here which it a big deal for me . Over all a lovely place to dine with friends and family and enjoy some lovely view .
