Have you ever dined on the Italian Riviera? If not, this is as close as you'll get to it in Derby. Once you step inside, the decor transports you to the Amalfi Coast in Italy. It's very light and spacious. The food and service is consistently good.

This authentic Italian café has quite a large and pleasant interior and a very friendly atmosphere. We called in early in the morning for coffee. The coffee was good quality and the prices were reasonable.

This was a great find! My husband and I loved it! Good food! Friendly owner that made sure we were taken care of. The Full English Breakfast was amazing! Well cooked and plenty of it. The environment was clean and the staff very friendly and accommodating. Fantastic value and service, I reccomend to anyone. You won’t find prices and value anywhere locally that will match.

Lunch at Derby's Best Cafe Villabella located on Babington Lane in the city centre. When we heard our favourite Grand Cafe Caruso that we had visited for years had closed,we were gutted. This is where they have re-located to. We did visit in their early days of opening, but they hadn't sorted out the full menu then. As we were in Derby, it was the ideal chance to try them out again, now they have settled in. Have you ever dined on the Italian Riviera? If not, this is as close as you'll get to it in Derby. Once you step inside, the decor transports you to the Amalfi Coast in Italy. It's very light and spacious. We headed upstairs to find a table on the upstairs terrace/balcony for the views (of the downstairs). It was great to see the menu again, with some old favourites and new additions. There's so much to choose from and spoilt for choice. We eventually chose a firm favourite, the Prawn & tuna salad £9.95. Which comes on a giant plate and served with coleslaw and a fresh baguette. Italian Toasty £5.95 Ham & Cheese with fried egg on top served with a side salad of tomato, basil, olives in olive oil & onion dressing. To drink,a couple of Morettis. All we needed now was the sunshine 🌞 We couldn't come here and not have one of their famous oven baked jacket potatoes. Back downstairs to order a cheese & beans delight £4.55 with a couple of their lovely Italian coffees. Which the friendly staff bring your order to the table when it's ready. The potato was huge and served in a bowl, which prevents the spillage of the copious amount of beans. The quality and portions are very good value. It was so good to back in Italy,oh sorry Derby 🤣. Currently, the best cafe in Derby, as voted by Marketing Derby Food and Drink Awards They still have their Cafe Caruso Boutique, located in St Peters Mall in the Derbion.

Our second visit to Villabella. Unfortunately, although the young man was solicitous, courteous and extremely helpful and the coffee was excellent, there were a couple of niggles. Firstly it was very chilly inside - I’d slipped my coat off but put it on again. Secondly both our (different toppings) jacket potatoes were warm, not hot. A real shame because our previous visit was incredibly good.

A hidden gem in the centre of Derby, just outside the Derbion mall. Friendly, helpful staff and amazing food. I had the antipasti salad which was a divine combination of cured meats, mozzarella, sun dried tomatoes, great nocerella olives and artichoke hearts. I couldn’t manage the baguette that came with it. My other half had a chicken and bacon baguette that came with a whole bag of crisps. Great tastes and amazing value. Lovely atmosphere. It was our first visit but we will definitely return.

This is my very favourite café, for solo visits or time with family and friends. It's like a ray of sunshine on a winters day, it's bright , cheerful and staff are very friendly. The coffee and food is great quality and very affordable. It's like a little bit of the Mediterranean in the centre of Derby. Thank you for always making my day brighter.

We came as two couples the room was cold and not very inviting as we did book another table over 4 weeks ago. We ordered the drinks and guess what they got those wrong. We all had starters after requesting for salt and pepper which was not even set out on our table. On the TURKEY ESCALOPES plate which two of us ordered for the main what looked and tasted like frozen peas and carrots. Portion size was only adequate at best. After not requesting for a dessert we had seen enough. I cannot remember such poor service poor food and poor value for money. Each couple paid £75 which was daylight robbery.

I've had the seafood linguine, and the lasagne, which were both excellent. I strongly recommend trying the ice cream after seafood - the vanilla and pistachio one. The pistachio ice cream actually tasted like pistachio, which has never actually happened to me before! The lasagne is lovely and rich, perfect with a glass of red, and the tender stem broccoli salad I ordered. The pine nuts with it were also really nice! The service was exceptional from the staff, as usual. Both the food and service are always consistently good!
