It took ages to get seated even though there appeared to be free tables. The staff seemed very disorganised. Slow service. By the time the food arrived I didn't care what it was like, I was ready to eat the table. Drinks were not delivered until we had finished eating, not great when you are after cake AND coffee! Enjoyed it when it did arrive, though over priced.

Plenty of staff on but took 15 mins to take our order , very disorganised with staff wandering about aimlessly. Our table had not been cleaned down before we were seated . Ordered pancake stack with strawberries & chocolate - pancakes were cold and choc lumpy . Small portions of fries £5 . Baked tattie and salad was lovely - however had stomach cramps within an hour of eating which wasn’t so good . Coffee was £4 which seems on the pricey side . No one came over to check if the food was okay at any point . Shame as it is a lovely venue but lacks customer service & on the expensive side . Has the potential to be really good !

Shop nice but staff's attitude disgraceful. Women upstairs has a dreadful attitude to customers. Was buying a lampshade (not planned) was told when asked if i could exchange if not suitable that it's easier to take a lamp in - I replied well I'm sorry but I didn't plan on buying a shade today !!! Wish I had just left it. Then went on to purchase paint which seemed to be a problem too as it had to be searched for, kind gentleman (staff) helped out. This is not the first time this woman has "talked down" to me in this shop !!

On arrival we waited to be seated, while a staff member chatting to another staff member on the phone. Before we got shown to our seat we were told there was no hot drinks ax we sat I was going to have the pancakes with bacon only to be told no pancakes left I did it is a basic recipe I would hope the chef know how to make a batter unless it was pre packet and they have ran out, I had another look and decided on the steak sandwich and hubby had full breakfast a soda drink and water was told to help ourselves to water drink then came, a wee while later was advised there is no steak why was this not taken off the menu, we decided to head out paid £2.95 for a can of irnbru, why did they open the cafe was quiet I now know why as this is the second time we have been and they had no hot water for teas/coffees. Very disappointed

The food is good but the service is abysmal. Server was uninterested with no eye contact. Food itself was very good but seemed unwilling to clear our dishes or the tables next to us. We had intended on having a cup of tea and traybake (which looked amazing) but gave up waiting , paid our bill and left. I was there in November and remember the service being terrible then. Waitress spilt tea all over the table and didn’t wipe it up and we had to ask 3 times for cutlery. Shame because the food is very good and the shop has lovely stuff. Shop itself is worth a visit.

Visited here for the first time, and was extremely disappointed a lack of food options and literally only one cake was Gluten-Free. Staff were attentive (the gentleman server) was extremely nice, apologetic but the lack of options are for the management to deal with, the server was trying his best in a tough situation. Prior warning for example a sign would have been nice just warning customers regarding a lack of options on the menu. The cake meanwhile was nice, but still feel rather disappointed about the experience. Probably would not return in near future, considering the situation. Service: 8/10 Food: 6/10 (just for the cake) considering options (1/10) Experience: 4/10 Would Revisit? Not in near future

Over £80 for 4 breakfasts + 2 kids meals just too much, in my opinion. Food was ok but nothing special. Bacon not well enough cooked, Cheap warmed tomatoes. Charged an extra £1 for substituting a fried egg with a watery scrambled egg. No butter for the toast unless asked for. Will not be rushing back.

Been a few times over the years and unfortunately it’s not at the standard it was years ago . Went for brunch today - restaurant was not busy , probably half full . Items were missing from our order so we had to ask for those . Unfortunately the customer service leaves a lot to be desired- very poor and slow with unmotivated staff . No manager in place to keep an over view .? Never asked if everything was okay with the meal . Staff took the dishes away and we asked for more coffees, waitress said she would come back with the order pad .... waited 15 mins ... asked another waitress... coffee arrived... waited on the bill , ignored by staff again . Such a shame as it’s a beautiful setting and the gift shop is fantastic, but customers are paying good money for a standard of food & look for pleasant efficient staff . There are lots of great coffee shops in Aberdeenshire, unfortunately this one is not on my list anymore.

Poor service, very slow with lack of enthusiasm. None of the staff seemed "bothered" with you. Had baked potatoes with coronation chicken and salad on side. Coronation chicken no taste at all just like a very bland mayonnaise with the odd raisin through it, salad had no dressing so therefore very dry, and no offer of any salt or pepper and could not get waiting staff to ask for it anyway. Seemed unorganised and as tho staff are wary of serving.

Always looking for somewhere new for a coffee, my friend and I decided to try the Cafe Treehouse - half way between our respective homes. We were shown to a table and handed a menu with lots of inviting goodies to eat. Instead of the usual scone, I chose 2 poached eggs with a toasted croissant and my friend decided on a bacon roll. It was perfection and just what I needed, although I didn’t realise that before I sat down. Well worth a visit!

My husband and I stopped here recently for a late lunch. The food was edible but not what I ordered. I was really looking forward to the special of a tuna Niçoise salad, what I got was a slightly past it’s best tuna mayonnaise salad. No potatoes, no green beans, no onion, no olives and no anchovies. Surely these are basics when selling a Niçoise salad?! To give them the benefit of the doubt, hubby enjoyed his.

Asked for vegetable soup, it came it was a bowl of flavoured water with bits of vegetables in it, horrible, plus a small roll, because this didn’t fill me up I asked if the cheese scones were fresh, I was told they were, I asked for it to be heated, came back warm on the outside cold on the inside, obviously not fresh, was a solid hard, crumbled texture inside that wasn’t cheese, it seemed to be a mixture of a sweet scone with some cheese on the top and to top it all it cost me £2.80 just for the scone!!! All in all very disappointing meal, won’t be going back

We stopped in the café after wandering round the home interiors/gift shop area. The menu was simple but varied and the quality of the food was excellent. At £8.95 (I think) for a full breakfast the value for money was excellent. The attendants confirmed that the ingredients were locally sourced - sausages, bacon etc - and you could definitely tell the difference between that and somewhere that sells frozen/wholesale type things.Area was nicely laid out and decorated well, in the style of the interior showrooms, lovely.Superb - highly recommend.

Visited here a few times and the food is good the cakes are fantastic however every time we have been the service has been slow and have to ask the waiting staff to clear the table and if we can have more coffees or even can we have a cake after our main course is pretty poor. There is a member of staff in particular a young chap with blonde hair who appears to be the supervisor/manager who in my opinion should not be working in this industry, rude and unhelpful.

Having discovered Treehouse 4 years ago, we have been regular visitors ever since, not so much to the cafe but for the store. I have bought many things from candles for my bathroom, to a large skeleton clock and Chrismas decorations. The Christmas shop is always well stocked as is the Halloween shop which offers an abundance of American style decorations.

We came out for the gift shop but as we had missed lunch we visited the cafe too. 2:30 pm on a Friday and it was pretty quiet. Red lentil soup was a good consistency but lacked seasoning. My pals scone was delicious (she said) but poor selection of jam to go with it. Waitress did apologise but surely in Scotland, raspberry jam is not a big ask?

A friend introduced me to this lovely wee place a while ago and we returned recently for a late Sunday breakfast. A very obliging waiter seated us immediately and gave us the option of a booth or a normal table. Very comfortable benches in the booth. My friend ordered the small cooked breakfast and I asked for the waiter's recommendation between the veggie breakfast and pancake stack. In the end I ordered the veggie breakfast however just a minute later the kind waiter returned with a nutella and banana pancake and told us it was a free taster! Very tasty although I think it may have been made the previous day. Such a kind gesture though! Food and drinks arrived promptly and my veggie breakfast was delicious. I had requested a poached egg instead of fried egg but this had been forgotten. The waiter immediately realised the mistake and insisted on correcting this. The fried egg looked (and tasted) so good that I told him not to worry about it. My friend's small cooked breakfast looked really good and was still a substantial plate despite being a 'small'. Would definitely recommend despite some of the more negative reviews I have now read on here. The adjoining shop is full to the brim of beautiful Christmas decorations just now and well worth a browse around.

Stopped here for coffee on Saturday afternoon had scones and coffee and a tea. The scones arrived but seemed like they had been baked 2 days earlier after about 15 minutes and after several other tables got their drinks we got ours with an apology about a mix up. Certainly not worth the £9.86. Won't be back.

We took advantage of an online offer, afternoon tea for two for £10. We were impressed. It wasn't too busy, efficient service (we went 3.30pm on a weekday). Nice selection of sandwich fillings on offer, served with freshly baked warm scones/jam/cream, along with a variety of tray bakes. Accompanied with tea or coffee. Followed by a wee look around the adjoining gift shop. Will definitely go back.

To me this cafe offers one of the best, it not the best, full scottish breakfast around Aberdeen. It also occasionally hosts interesting events such as exotic car shows. The attached interior design shop is great to wonder around in while you wait for the food to arrive.

Not so easy to find, watch out for the signs! It is out of sight from the main road and near an industrial set up. Plenty parking! There is a lot to see for browsers and a gift shopper's paradise! The resident art gallery has some interesting work from local artists but the prints are not cheap! The restaurant is spacious, clean and comfortable. The service is friendly and the waiters try hard to look after you. It can get very busy and you may need to be a little patient. Food and drinks have been good every time we have been here and were reasonably priced. Great fun to browse and relax for a meal or a high tea. It is a nice morning or afternoon outing and wheelchair and child friendly. Recommended!

We popped in for afternoon tea, service was good but food was average and somewhat disappointing. Unfortunately, the bread for the sandwiches was like a 'smart price' loaf, edges not cut off and filling unimaginative. Salad was served at the side and was fine. The scones (plain only) were dry and hard-ish. In general, passable but could do much better with slightly more thought...

I've been here for lunch before when it was extremely busy and the staff were running around like headless chickens and there was a lack of service. I came back today and even though it was quiet the service again was a great disappointment. Similar to the last time the man behind the counter doing the coffees was very nice and attentive, same as today but was a different member of staff, so that's the only good part of the experience. The waitress today seemed to prioritise cleaning / clearing tables and dishes over customers waiting to place their order and didn't seem to want to be there at all. Despite this the tables were still visibly dirty along with seating and the menus were horribly sticky and in much need of a wipe. Food was ok, not bland but nothing special. This place does have a lot of potential it's just a shame about who is employed.

Worst chipper I have ever had! Haddock supper and sausage supper for my wife was ordered. We had to throw it out after eating a few mouthfuls. Grease laden and completely tasteless! Same they are so horrible and using the Ashvale branding. The one in town is a much higher standard. I was charged £15 just to throw it in the bin 5 minutes after purchasing. Waste of money and time.
