As the nearest restaurant by my flat I felt this would be a handy spot for breakfast before heading to the city centre. I opted for a poached egg and bacon in a roll. Set me back £9.70. This is more than double the cost of a bacon roll by itself ! Staff made minimal chat and the venue lacked atmosphere. The food was nice just extremely over priced

A well located coffee shop with an ambitious menu.. I have had my coffee there several times. I can never understand how can they charge so much for double espresso! £2.60?! Skip, there are other places nearby.

Poor service, disinterred staff. Long wait for food and when the food came, poorly presented delivered in a “couldn’t give damn” way.

I visited this coffee shop twice during a recent stay in London. Very friendly atmosphere and a lovely warm welcome. I had bacon sandwich on sour dough bread the first time and then caramel apple cake the second. It was all delicious. My son had a croissant, again freshly baked and amazingly crispy and soft at the same time. Really recommended for hot drinks, cake and snacks. They have fast and slow prices - fast to take out and slow to eat in. I will definitely visit again when in the area

Hidden gem cafe at East Putney. Cosy, fresh, modern, well decorated, small cafe with very friendly atmosphere. Very personal, and pleasant personnel. Great beverages. Good Croatian wines, as "added gem". Fine price/value. Very clean. Very clean restroom.

There are loads of cafes and bars in Putney but unusually this one is good for both tea/coffee and wine, so if you're in a mixed group you don't have to fight over where to go. It also stays open later into the evening than the cafes, which is convenient. It's a bit more expensive than some places but the coffee and (Cornish!) tea is good - haven't tried the wine but haven't had any complaints from guests. They also have some food including cakes and breakfast. Vegans are catered for, up to a point anyway (cake sometimes runs out I think!). Nice cosmopolitan atmosphere and friendly staff.

A number of new high rise residential developments have recently been completed in East Putney with some flats having stunning views of, er, the Wimbledon to Edgware Road branch of the District Line. Serving the bright young things moving into occupation are swanky eateries such as Som Saa (Thai) and now this cafe set a little bit back from the Upper Richmond Road called Ston. I’m baffled by the name. Was it originally ‘stone’ but the logo was purchased from the same company designing the sets for the 2017 Conservative Party Conference but the letter ‘e’ was either lost or fell down? Or could it be a word in an ancient Balkan language. I ask because the toasted ham sandwich I ordered for lunch with a double espresso was called a Balkan sandwich. Very good it was too with top quality bacon. I also enjoyed a slice of caramel and lemon cake. Service from two waitresses was polite and charming. All I think this place needs is a few more substantial items on the lunch menu. Today there was a brunch (basically a full English breakfast) with coffee for £11.50 whilst pulled pork was advertised on an outside blackboard as being available but not before the rather strange time of 4.30pm. A pasta dish would not go amiss. Or even Cevapcici with Slivovitz?

So this is my first time here it’s new. Had a warm greeting on arrival it’s cosy inside sort of raw industrial look. The waitress was lovely. Coffee is good quality we were recommended by our waitress to have the bacon and egg brioche roll it was great really soft roll with freshly cooked bacon and egg. Give this place a try :-)

As an owner of Cafe Ston I was over the moon to see that we have been awarded a 5 out of 5 food hygiene certificate this week. Completely out of the blue the inspector arrived and went through everything and was satisfied completely. With our great service, fantastic selection of food and wines the atmosphere is just perfect. Come visit and spend some time with us.

Hit or miss depending on the day and on what you order, I think. The chicken shawarma wrap is delicious and juicy! The halloumi one - not so much. The chips/fries are terrible, probably the cheapest/worst brand of frozen ones out there. Cleanliness wise, well, best not to look.. 😅

I lived across the street at 6 University Mansions from June through September of 1974 and after 50 years I’m finally returning this time with my wife and daughter! I simply can’t travel to London without returning to the Iconic Star and Garter…for lunch, drinks and sharing so many fond memories spent with new friends and my UK family…late night walks along the river and through Bishops Park…I cannot return to London without returning to the beloved Star and Garter…to reminisce…well of course…but also to discover and appreciate the changes that I know 50 years has surely brought…I have wonderful memories and great expectations…can hardly wait to walk through the doors and like MacArthur in the Philippines announce to the World …well actually more modestly to my family “I Have Returned”…🇺🇸•🏴•🇬🇧 ❤️🤍💙!!!

Food- I will upload photos to understand the ‘expectation vs reality’ for their parcels without any words. Secondly, majority of food I would have wanted- sold out in a daylight. Clean food is clean food but if you are only offered burgers - it just gets a bit out of hand. Service- the front of house was empty when we entered. The whole place was actually empty so it looked like it was closed. No welcome whatsoever. We really doubted it from second one. The serving girl turned out to be there, hanging out in the kitchen since there were no orders to gand out. Secondly, chef was wearing wireless earphones while in action. Imagine they fell into your food… gross. Atmosphere- as mentioned. No welcoming whatsoever, awkward. Chairs by the entrance around round tables are light and in a non-washable material, full of food stains, spillages and god knows what else. It really is putting off, and suggests to rather leave faster than seat in to eat.

We've been here before, maybe a year ago and the experience was good, however on this occasion it was poor. We selected what we wanted from the website menu however when we arrived it was apparent that the website menu was out of date; some of our selections were not on the table menu. Two of our party selected Sausages and mash but there were no sausages so had to select something else. Three of us ordered fish & chips but bizarrely there was no vinegar available. It's the first establishment I've ever been to where you couldn't get vinegar with fish and chips. One of our party ordered a burger which was supposed to have two patties but was more like one and a half. He went to complain about it but nobody came back to us. When paying at the bar I mentioned the burger issue and the guy I was talking to went off to check with the server and he knocked this meal off the bill. I also pointed out that they had missed £60 worth of wine off the bill. He added it on to the bill but I didn't get any thanks for this. Wish I hadn't bothered now. I feel that the main issue however was the demeanour of the staff. Instead of "I'm awfully sorry we've ran out of vinegar" and maybe an explanation of why, it was "we haven't got any vinegar". It wasn't " I'm really sorry, we've had a run on the sausages and there aren't any left" or something like that, it was "we haven't got any sausages", It wasn't "we're really sorry the burger meal wasn't up to our usual standard" or something like that, it was "I've knocked it off the bill". It wasn't "oh, that's really good of you to let us know we'd missed the wine off the bill" or something like that. It was, well nothing really, it just got added to the bill. It was if having customers there was an inconvenience to the staff. There was minimal eye contact, no smiles and avoiding contact with customers as much as possible appeared evident. Wish we had gone somewhere else. We certainly won't be going again. I'm writing this in response to an email from the Nine Elms Tavern saying that my option matters. It will be interesting to see what, if any, response I get to this.
