The staff here are so lovely they feel like friends. The food itself may not be fine dining however if you’re looking for a tasty yet humble breakfast/lunch I would highly recommend this cafe. I have been here many times and often order the Croque Mousier (ham and cheese toastie) with chips. The toastie itself is delicious, cheese always melted and well cooked ham with deliciously toasted bread. The fries too are rather basic but cooked to a scrumptious standard. Overall, an excellent experience and fabulous spot for casual brunch.

Discovered this gem of a cafe by chance at the end of our stay in Crystal Palace. Very warm and hospitable welcome and fabulous fairly priced food. Attention to detail throughout with outstanding cleanliness in washrooms. We will return!

Cafe St Germain is one of my recent finds in Crystal Palace and I have no cause for complaint. On the contrary. I have had their mushroom omelette a couple of times and recently their eggs Benedict. I could not fault them. The atmosphere is old fashioned French. The staff is super friendly. Prices are fair. For these ,this place is well above the more trendy places in the neighborhood.

Mi compañero y yo nos detuvimos aquí ayer por la tarde para tomar un café. El restaurante estaba lo suficientemente limpio y bien presentado. El servidor fue educado y eficiente. El café también era bastante bueno. Sin embargo, me di la vuelta en un punto y vi al servidor de pie junto a la caja registrando sus dientes. Estaba horrorizado Estoy tan contento de no haber pedido comida. Tener el dedo en la boca mientras se trabaja con alimentos es completamente inaceptable. Luego fue directamente a atender a un cliente que paga su factura sin lavarse las manos. Nunca visitaré o recomendaré este café.

Bueno, lo primero es lo primero, no hay nada malo con el sabor o la presentación de la comida. Lugar de reunión básico y popular para la comida estándar de la cafetería, sentarse dentro o fuera con una veranda observando el tráfico de Londres. Muchos ciclistas se detienen aquí, ya que se trata de un ascenso hasta Crystal Palace y un cruce de carreteras muy transitado, limpiando los retretes separados para hombres y mujeres por la parte de atrás.

This venue was suggested for a meal on Sunday, as a "café" but it is so much more. The food is excellent, the staff friendly and the prices not extravagant.

Mi esposa y yo visitábamos a una amiga en Londres para celebrar nuestro aniversario de boda y ella había estado en este establecimiento antes, así que pensamos que sería bueno almorzar antes de mirar alrededor del Crystal Palace. Nos llevaron a nuestros asientos y nos dieron un menú. El camarero preguntó por nuestra orden de bebidas, respondí: ¿puedo tener una cerveza con lima? No lo siento, no tenemos lima. ¿Podría tener una Guinness? No, no somos un pub, lo que me pareció bastante grosero, pero no quería hacer una escena, ya que era nuestro amigo quien nos llevaba a almorzar. Así que pedí una pinta de Peroni (dos botellas) y nos preguntaron qué queríamos del menú de comida. Todos nos decidimos por las hamburguesas. "No lo siento, no hacemos las hamburguesas", ¿por qué están en su menú? Simplemente ya no los hacemos.Para estas fechas ya estaba teniendo las vibraciones de que deberíamos tomar una bebida. Pedimos una pasta de salmón, pollo y ensalada y una pasta carbonara. Cuando llegó la comida, mi carbonara era pasta con tocino cortada en trozos, que era bastante blanda. El plato de pollo era pollo mariposa que no sabía tan bien. La pasta de salmón era sabrosa pero caliente. Después de la comida, el camarero nos preguntó si disfrutábamos de la comida, le dijimos que no lo hicimos y él solo se encogió de hombros. Cuando recibimos la factura, nos cobraron alrededor de 9 por las dos botellas de peroni. Tal vez deberíamos haber pedido el precio primero.Estoy de acuerdo con algunos otros comentarios en que el personal es grosero y carece de habilidades de comunicación. Called in here for a coffee and a light bite for lunch. It is a lovely little place with a cosy warm atmosphere. The food was delicious and the staff adorable. Great place to go.

This atmospheric cafe is half in a wood panelled room, half under a canopy outside. Every time I come here, I wonder why I don't come more often. It's got a large, unfussy French bistro-inspired menu (and plenty of choices for the kids) - omelettes lovely, savoury crepes perhaps even better, while the kids loved their pasta and ice cream. Oh - and the coffee is great, if that's all you're after.To cap it all, the service is charming, to adults and kids alike. The whole place is a delight.

Wanted a full English, and got it. It was delicious and hit the spot. Lots of choice on their menu. The service was very good and the cafe is nicely designed, like a French bistro.

Walk in and you are in a bistro in France, it is very authentic, as is the menu. Great staff, food, service and very clean. The food portions are very generous and well presented. I will be going back.

Yo soy 7, y después de mi examen de ballet me fui con mi madre para el almuerzo. Nos sentamos en el interior y era agradable y acogedor porque estaba muy frío afuera. Es la tercera vez que he estado aquí y me encanta porque los niños comida es deliciosa! El camarero era muy agradable y nos sirvieron rápidamente. Tan rápidamente que no sabía beber! Él era amable y me dejaron un desayuno después de 12 o'clock. Tuve un desayuno completo. Fue muy sabrosos y comí todo! Almuerzo mummy's tenía pan francés y era agradable y fresco y crujiente pero suave por dentro.

Me explicó a su llegada había reservado una mesa para dos. Simplemente mostraron dos mesas posible sentarse en ninguno de los cuales habían sido reservados. Fue sólo más tarde, mientras comíamos una fabulosa ensalada Niçoise que oí el mismo camarero diciendo algunas personas podrían tener una mesa reservada porque la gente que nunca apareció. Al haber estado en el receptor final de un furioso llamada desde un restaurante diferente en circunstancias similares que sentí que necesitaba decir algo al camarero. Nunca he recibido una disculpa tan malhumorado, incluyendo el gerente para culpar de la reserva fue decirle tres. Toda la situación me dejó disgustada, lo que fue una pena porque la comida era realmente excelente.

A friend and I visited for coffee before moving on. The coffee was good and the place was very busy with people having breakfast or lunch. They all seemed to be enjoying their meals and a number were obviously regulars. We will go back another time for a meal

Lovely cafe and wonderful food and we had a great meal here. All the plates from around us went back empty! So the food is good. Fast service as well for a little place. Great seating outside for the summer as well. A great place and great prices .

Haven't been to St Germain for ages so I was really looking forward to my brunch. It wasn't too busy so we grabbed a table near the door but moved when it got too draughty. So yes they did see us come in but it seemed to be a while waiting to place an order so we went up to order at the bar. Then the waiter said he would take our order at the table. On to the food, a chefs breakfast for my partner, a ciapini (baguette) poulet for my daughter and Ciapini Napoli for me. The ciapinis had loads of feeling and were so delicious! Mine was crammed full of ham and cheese. So no complaints about the food at all. But when we paid no one asked if we enjoyed the food. I said it was really good but still no comment like "glad you enjoyed it". Just add the niceties or pleasantries please and say goodbye or thank you if possible when customers leave.

This was great food and a lovely atmosphere. If you can get put to France this is the next best thing

It was a good job we were not in a hurry when we called here for lunch. We had to wait 25 minutes after our teas arrived before our lunch was brought to our table. In the cafe's defense, they were very busy. It's clearly a popular establishment. Food reasonable, prices competitive.

Visited for lunch, service was friendly and quick, food was great and nicely priced as well. Highly recommended.

Pasó por aquí un domingo, aproximadamente a las 11:40 de la mañana antes de ir al parque del palacio de cristal. Íbamos a pop en el pub para medio pero no abre hasta las 12. Nos dieron una cálida bienvenida de uno de los camareros...

Este café es genial, los precios son baratos, parte son grandes y si es un día soleado y estás sentado fuera parece y bar holiday:) sólo poco inconveniente. . . El personal en general es agradable, pero solo una vez tuve un camarero que era bastante brusco, y no parecía que la cuidada sobre servicio al cliente ese día. . . Aparte de eso, me encanta!

Pasando a través de Crystal Palace y paramos aquí para el almuerzo. Café europeo auténtico sirve excelente comida francesa con un servicio amable. El menú es sencillo, buen café y excelente crepes. No podía haber pedido más.

I came in today for a coffee and a cake, the lemon cake is wonderful, not too sweet and homemade! I've been in for breakfast a few times and it's always excellent. The crepes are very good too!! And they have outside seating with smoking and non smoking areas which is great! A local fave for me and my boyfriend

We had lunch here after a visit to the park to see the dinosaurs and it was fairly average. Eating with a French person meant that he had high expectations of the food and when he was served the mushroom crepe it looked nothing like a crepe he had seen before. It was very oily and the crepe and soggy rather than crisp and buttery. I ordered a pear tart which was nice, but I doubt that it was freshly made on the day as the menu points out.I had really high expectations after having read the reviews on here, so am quite disappointed really. The service was good, friendly for sure and the atmosphere and cleanliness was great too.

My partner and I have just has the most lovely visit to this cafe. On a baking hot day it was cool inside. The cafe was clean and nice, staff were lovely, food was great and a good price. I wish I lived closer to come more often!Highly recommended.

I used to eat here every Saturday when I lived locally. Saturday visiting friend I was not dissapointed, the place had not changed at all and long my this be the case.

Nice warm atmosphere with good coffee and house made cakes. Open on Sundays the info on the web pages is wrong. Excellent toasted sandwiches the house special is great. Highly recommended.

Usually have some sort of croque or in cooler weather I'll go for the poulet crepe. Staff are attentive without being pushy, everything is served competently and without drama. Then there's the food. Just delicious comfort food.

Went here on a whim really great service and really good food. Staff were very attentive and helpful would definetely repeat.

From the outside the place looks just ok, being next to a busy road doesn't give it justice. The food is very reasonably priced and on the cheap side. We didn't have high expectations but all four of us loved each of our meals, including meat, fish, veggie & sandwich meals with a French flavour. Brilliant! I'll def be popping in again next time I'm in the area. Also the staff were lovely and they serve coffee with coconut milk. Winner.

An excellent French style Cafe with regularly produced fresh croisants and french stick etc Godd Coffee and a selection of soft and Alcoholic drinks. I particularly recommend the Spinach Omelette

Nice café - has covered seating outside too. A good range on the menu to cover cooked breakfasts through to a range of lunches. Loved my omelette. Would return next time I'm in Crystal Palace.

I visited Cafe St. Germain a few weeks ago for breakfast and decided to return after enjoying it last time. Again I had a really good experience - great friendly service, lots of choice on the menu and very reasonably priced too.

It might be my fault, but I have lived in Paris and visited lots of cafes in the area of St.. Germain des Pres as well as St. Germain-en-laye.Cafe St. Germain in Crystal Palace is just opposite the busy bus stop and gathers all the dust and carbon monoxide from the intersection.So, sitting outside is not always much fun. Foodwise, I was hoping some French treats. But perhaps it offers what its discerning clientele wants.

I ate at Cafe St. Germain today with my sister and daughter, we were made to feel very welcome the staff were so attentive and helpful, the food was really good and very good prices. The coffee was perfect we will defiantly be eating at this lovely place again.

I was passing and went in for a mid morning cafe au lait and almond croissant. The welcome was friendly and I felt quite at ease even though I sat on my own. I took my time choosing where I wanted to sit and enjoyed my lovely coffee and croissant - reasonably priced and a good unobtrusive service. The surroundings are pleasant with a French feel. Much pleasanter than visiting the anonymous coffee chains.

Have been here a few times for lunches. Always freshly prepared tasty food and excellent customer service. Their specials are a must to try, such as prawn or squid in a spicy salsa with crusty bread. If you like garlic and tomato sauce with a kick you're gonna it.

Sat outside and it reminded me of sitting in a café in Paris.The food is REALLY reasonably priced, we had a few sandwiches and they were all good, the croque monsieur was very nice.They had some interesting looking proper mains on the menu and a duck breast dish on specials for only £7!!!Coffees were also good, would like to go back if we are in CP again.

I am always one to judge a cafe by their simplest fare- coffee and a pastry. The coffee here is good, nice taste and good proportion of milk in a cappuccino. The pastries are GREAT. The best croissant and pain au chocolat in the area.

Went to this place for the first time. Fancied a nice Sunday breakfast with my boyfriend and was very satisfied. Lovely French feel, local, filling breakfast, great friendly service, fab location...can't fault it!

I love it here. Me and my family visit all the time and always have great service and a warm welcome. The food there is fantastic i cannot fault it. Very friendly staff who are happy to change bits on adish for you. I will continue going here as always
