Cafe Society in East Riding of Yorkshire

Stopped by on a chilly Saturday morning for a brunch....one of the nicest bacon baps I have ever had, I decided to have a toasted tea cake afterwards which was lovely too. Spotlessly clean, lovely staff...my only observation is perhaps the price......I think you should be charging a little more....a real gem.

Visited here for brunch before leaving Bridlington to come home and so glad we did.Very covid aware with QR/sign in table and sanitiser by the door. Tables cleared promptly and cleaned thoroughly between customers. All staff wearing masks.Staff were really friendly, attentive but not over the top. Orders taken promptly and extra not on the menu were no bother. The menu wasn't huge but there ample to satisfy most needs. We opted for a cheese toastie and two scrambled egg on toast, mine with a side crispy bacon order. The food was presented beautifully and tasted great. Portion sizes were good too. Salad dressing and crips rated highly with the teens!Very nice coffee, served nice and hot too.We then had cake.. not totally sure how we fit it in, but we battled on! My son had the Bakewell tart - good size slice and absolutely delicious; I opted for the St Clements cake. A good sized portion of a light, moist cake - but for me, it lacked strength of flavour. This is my view of St Clements cake in general and no criticism of this particular one - which was a great cake.The place is dog friendly too.If you are looking for breakfast, brunch or coffee and cake - give Cafe Society a try. It ticks every box

Visited this coffee shop on 2 occasions during our recent holiday in the area, the place is dog friendly which was fantastic as we had Barney the Cockapoo with us. The latte, hot chocolates and snacks we purchased and consumed were great on both visits backed up by excellent customer service. Would recommend to others and would definitely visit again.

Called in twice this week while spending a week here. Very comfortable, good food and excellent service. Would thoroughly recommend. Will be back again hopefully in a better climate.

Visited coffee shop today along with friends and Eric the dog. Excellent customer service, atmosphere and food. Would highly recommend.

Just popped in for a pot of tea and a latte. The latte was even better than Greggs ;-)I can recommend paying the extra 20p for the large which is served in something the size and appearance of a pyrex measuring jug (minus the markings and spout obvs). My wife tells me the tea was refreshing though she needed to ask for a pot of hot water.We were served by whom we assume was the proprietor's daughter - she was terrific. Polite, attentive, pleasant and professional. She and the other staff wore face coverings the whole time. Other anti-Covid19 measures were also in operation. Tables cleaned before the next customer could take their seat and sanitizer by the entrance. We felt reassured and relaxed.This establishment seems to have improved since we were ther last, probably last year (2019). I understand this is due to a change in staff team rather than a change in ownership.We'd have no hesitation in revisiting when next in Brid.

A family of 4 adults. We went in Saturday for a light lunch and couldn't believe it. Everywhere wonderfully clean. Staff wonderful. Food fantastic and cake. So much choice and tasted divine. Asked if I could go Sunday and get some sandwiches to take out they said yes. Got there around 10 am. Sandwiches made whilst I was waiting. All good and fresh plenty of filling. Also cake to take away. All labelled .napkins and spoons also provided. Everything wonderful again. Salted caramel cake highly recommend it. Will be going again before the end of our holiday. Nothing here not to like.

We wanted a little basic cafe that wasn’t busy & wasn’t fish & chips whilst in Bridlington one lunchtime for two adults, three kids.Found this place & it was lovely from sandwiches, basic beans/egg on toast, snacks to toasties etc for just a small lunch was perfect, varied amount of cakes too if anyone wanting a treat & drink!Great prices too! Just could’ve done with a children’s menu or even child size portions available/offered & then one of the young ladies behind the counter could’ve been more polite & customer friendly but either way, think we will definitely be returning when back in Brid.**Was nice to see, the PPE being worn too**

Coeliacs should be very wary of dining here. We were delighted to see that the cafe advertised in their window gluten free waffles and in addition offered gluten free pancakes on their menu. We ordered a portion of each for our two daughters who both have Coeliac disease. Despite double checking both with the person taking the order and with the waitress who delivered the food, at least one of the products was not gluten free as one daughter was violently sick and the other felt very sick shortly afterwards. This was extremely disappointing and upsetting as we always take great care when ordering food due to the high gluten sensitivity of our daughters. It is also very frustrating that we couldn't find a phone number listed so were unable to make a complaint directly to the proprietor.

Came across this little gem while stopping off before heading home. The sandwiches and toastie, on the face of it seems a bit expensive but we were very pleasantly surprised when he received them, served with a little side salad and a few crisps, beautifully presented and served by a very capable and charming young girl- whose name escapes me (sorry) the food was freshly made to order. The hot drinks were very reasonable and were good. Bigger than expected as well. Would recommend and if in the area again, would definitely go there again.

Visited here again when on holiday & as always the coffee & cakes were divine.Great to also See that all members of staff were taking all precautions re customer safety during this worrying pandemic time.All tables & seats sanitised before sitting down & names & numbers taken for track & trace Purposes.Shame they don't open Mondays, we tried somewhere else but what an absolute disaster that was.We will be back again soon to Cafe Society - simply the best

Called in for coffee/tea and cakes. Coffee was nice and you can't really go wrong with tea, but not many other positives, I'm afraid. The cakes were ok but very thin slices and at just over £10, I felt a bit ripped off. I don't suppose the prices would be excessive if the portion sizes were bigger.The ladies behind the counter seemed disinterested. I measure a place by the initial greeting, pleases and thank you's and thanking you for your custom when you leave. Sadly, none of these. Won't be going again.

We went on the recommendation of a friend.2 couples and our little miniature schnauzer.The place is spotlessly clean with a view over the sea. Cake choices are excellent and wasVery tasty and moist. Lovely coffee.Will put this one on the regulars list. Recommended.

We often call in here after a brisk walk on the beach with the dog. The staff are friendly and it's popular with locals always a good sign. Snacks light lunches or breakfast are available as well as decent coffee. Always popular with dog owners.

After a lovely walk around Bridlington we were ready for a snack. We came across this gem which had a lovely relaxed atmosphere and is dog friendly. The staff were friendly and the cafe and toilet clean. Highly recommend.

Visited today, three different cakes, each of us delighted with our choice. First time for a Summer Eton Mess cake - absolutely delicious, very imaginative. Coffee and Earl Grey tea, equally excellent. Great venue!

Called today for lunch but unfortunately they weren’t serving hot food or sandwiches today. We opted for cake instead which was delicious. Will definitely visit again when sandwiches are available.

Called here for lunch as it looked like a nice café, unlike a lot of places in Bridlington. We had toasted sandwiches, panini and cakes, all very nice. The coffee was excellent. The ladies running the café are really nice too. This will be our place to come when in Brid.

Always pop in in here for a brew when we are in Bridlington. Lovely coffee and tea, all food fresh and reasonably priced. See you again next time we are in the area.

Good quality food and drink at a very reasonable price. Staff very friendly. Def worth a visit if you are in the area. Good selection of own made desserts if you just want a treat and a drink.

Called in here yesterday for coffee and a slice of Victoria sandwich cake, the cake was to die for I’ve never had any cake so light and tasty like this before yummy then tried the coffee which was absolutely perfect, staff fantastic and cafe was spotless, next time I’m in Bridlington I’ll be back, thank you

A PROPER cup of coffee in Bridlington, very large selection of homemade cakes and I can recommend Belgian waffle and Carrot Cake, dog friendly too!

Called in for a coffee and cake and enjoyed it so much we went back for lunch. The food was lovely and reasonably priced, and the place was spotless. Very nice people ran it and as a bonus was completely dog friendly.

Been to this cafe a few times now it never disappounts, nice atmosphere, friendly service and got to be the best coffee and cake I've had in Brid.

We needed a coffee and brunch after an early drive to the coast. This place was clean, welcoming, and the staff were friendly. Good food at a decent price, but excellent service and attention to the details. Would definitely visit again next time we're in town.

Was lovely to find this little cafe. So different to the "greasy spoon" kind of cafe prevalent in Bridlington and a lot of seaside resorts. I had a ham, cheese and tomato toastie which arrived full to bursting with a nice little dressed salad and crisps. Excellent. Hubbys cheese and ham sandwich was so stuffed with filling he could hardly pick it up. Accompanied by a really good flat white. Lovely clean cafe. Efficient staff. Will definitely come here again next time we are in Bridlington.

After a good walk in lovely winter sunshine we came across this charming cafe. Staff very welcoming and friendly, to our dog as well. Quality home-made cakes and a good pot of tea.

Called for light lunch. Had toastie each, both having tuna mayo and cheddar cheese which I thought was a odd combination but was OK. Prices reasonable. Not particularly busy but guess that was down to time of year

We stumbled across this cafe on a cold afternoon. We were made very welcome and pleased to say our dig was welcome too. Good choices of sandwiches and toasties, paninni etc, plus some great looking cakes.

Visited Bridlington for a day out with family & the cake on display was inviting. On way back through, we decided to stop, initially all tables were full, however 5 mins later we got a table. 2 young girls were serving. 15 mins later our table was cleared, however beforehand 2 older staff members appeared & what looked to be the manager started raising her voice at the 2 younger members of staff. This caused quite a negative atmosphere through the cafe. Service was slow, however cake was lovely.

We visited on a very hot day in July. The food was fantastic, our children had milkshakes which were definitely worth the money and we had toasted sandwiches which were delicious. We finished our lunch off with a piece of cake, there was plenty to chose from and the coffee and walnut was delicious.

The customer service was horrendous, very rude manager. A coffee took nearly 20 minutes, no smiles off the girls there. Would not recommend to anyone. Manager supposedly takes illegal substances at work also.

Even though we only had a latte, looking at the light meals and snacks that others had, standards have not gone down. Friendly staff and family pets welcome. Look forward to our next visit

we called in for a coffee and couldn't resist but to have a cheescake with it... very clean place with some wonderful delights to accompany your drink... will be calling again.

At first we were enjoying our visit, there were 7 of us and my little girl who is 4 years old. My little one was playing with one of my friends and yes they were a little giddy and laughing a lot.... it's what children do right??? Then one of the customers ( who was just sat there no drink or food on the table) started talking about us and said she would like the strangle my daughter! Well obviously being a mother and my daughter comes first this woman got an earful from me and another member of our party. She just sat there and never apologised. Obviously this woman was a "friend" of the owner because then the owner became very rude and told my daughter off for using TWO sachets of sweetener in my drink ( there was just a small bit of tea in my cup so she wanted to make a drink for me) again she's a small child playing. There were 7 of us all together and we all had hot drinks and probably used about 4 sachets of sweetener including the two my daughter "messed" about with! So I think after spending about £16 maybe more between us we are entitled to abit of sweetener. We left the shop but I had to go back in to confront the owner and ask why she had to comment on the amount of sugar I used, she was rude, arrogant and looked at my child like she was vermin! I asked if she had children because being a mother would you seriously speak about a child like this??? NO AND I DONT WANT ANY (giving my child the evil eyes) Yes I got upset and called her an ignorant F! But she deserved it. We were told to get out of her shop and yes we did with absolute pleasure! OBVIOUSLY PREFER DOGS TO SMALL HUMAN BEINGS. Families stay away and go to TOPHAMS just around the corner, lovely friendly owner served with a smile and liked children... after all it's the seaside and children will always be around!

Called here for lunch having been here before on a past visit to Bridlington and was very impressed. We was served by friendly staff in clean surroundings. Ordered panini’s my husband had chicken tandoori which he said was very tasty and I had ham,cheese and tomato which was also very nice both came with side salad.

Called here for drinks, the place is clean and the staff friendly, unfortunately I ordered a strawberry milkshake, it had never seen a strawberry it was made of ice cream with a ton of squirty cream on top, too sickly, not a milkshake. Anyway may call again and have a hot chocolate!

We arrived on a cold rainy day and even though there were 8 of us and 3 dogs we were made to feel very welcome. They were fine about us pushing a couple of tables together. The service was quick and smiley which was nice. The food was lovely, amongst the things that we had were hot chocolate (piled high with cream and marshmallows), some very good coffee, some delicious sandwiches and a recommended chicken, pesto and mozzarella toastie. Would definitely return if visit Bridlington again.

I took me parents away for a short break and we found our way to this cafe. Not only do they make the perfect capaccino, but the owner was extremely friendly and very welcoming. Would absolutely recommend this cafe.

We like our coffee as nature intended it, no sugar, no fluffy foam, no chocolate no nothing but coffee, ie. Americano or black. This coffee was up to the highest standard. Very tasty and nicely hot, it was a rich blend giving a full rich flavour with a pleasant aftertaste. A large cup which was an absolute delight. The cakes looked delicious, but weigh-in at Slimming World tomorrow, so had to restrict my calories to a rather rich and delicious mince pie. Pleasant staff with a spotlessly clean cafe and toilet. A thoroughly pleasant experience.

We visited this cafe whilst visiting Bridlington and the service was great and the food tasty. The only reason this wasn't a 5* review was the price which I thought was a bit steep but there was a steady stream of people coming through the door.

Qué horrible, innecesario totalmente crítica para un café muy agradable, regentado por una señora joven muy agradable. Los cafés que nos tomamos y bebemos mucho café, eran excelentes, de hecho, iría tan lejos como para decir que eran uno de los mejores que hemos tenido recientemente - Niza tazas grandes y hecho con café local de buena calidad y todo era muy razonable. Realmente no necesita comida, pero el pan tostado que olía tan delicioso tanto a que no podía resistirse a compartir. Las tortas caseras en el gabinete refrigerado parecía fabuloso, pero, por desgracia, sólo tomamos el desayuno! La cafetería y los baños estaban impecables, y nos pareció que era como un pequeño oasis.

Fuimos aquí un domingo por la mañana justo después de que abrieron así en mi propia, el café era muy bueno y por sólo £1. 90 para una buena taza de tamaño, también tenía algunos viejos música. Bien merece una visita.

Not been in for a while so decided to give it ago the place is clean and well presented and the staff are friendly but the main reason I went in was for a cappuccino well it's not the worst I have had but it was close I may as well been out and bought a box of the sachet ones for two quid , there's a couple of very good coffee places in bridlington maybe you need to go to one and find out how to make a good coffee and which cup to present it in ...

This is a little gem of a cafe. The food and surroundings are of high quality and the staff are friendly and efficient. A good choice on the menu and some delicious cakes and scones on offer

Looking for a place to eat stumbled across cafe society saw sign dogs welcome very rare lovely food and was able to take the dog too she is well behaved more should allow dogs.Very clean reasonably priced good choiceWe will be back.

We came across this small cafe by accident and now make a point of going every time we visit Brid. Friendly staff but not in your face. The coffee and hot chocolate is spot on but the cakes are amazing! The whole place is spotless even the toilet!

We found this little gem last year,and we have revisited. We can't fault it. The staff are really friendly and welcoming. The food is delicious and they welcome dogs in. What more could you ask for?

Called in several times in the last few months and always find the staff very helpful and the drinks and food first class. The homemade cakes are particularly good!

Friendly, welcoming staff. Husband and I shared a toasted sandwich - delicious and served with salad and crisps. Then a cake each - lovely selection to choose from - and coffees. Place is spotlessly clean and we (including our dog) were made very welcome. Will definitely return.

Popped in on spec for coffee, a sandwich and scrambled egg on toast. Everything was really good ... tasty, well filled sandwich, soft and fluffy scrambled egg and the coffee had a really good, strong flavour. Very friendly staff and the whole place was clean and smart. Will definitely be back.

We love to call at Cafe Society for our morning coffee. Our little Cavalier King Charles Spaniel (Daisy) is always made welcome. The coffee is really nice and they do a lovely toasted teacake.

Another few days in Bridlington with the family. First place and last place we went over the few days and the quality of food, excellent service and reasonable cost just the same as before. Belle the dog was treated too. We we even recognised by the owner! The chocolate sundaes were huge and the kids loved them. Cakes were spot on and coffee just right with plenty of taste. This place is something special and we will be back in Spring.

Great little cafe, great service, really clean and well looked after. The food was fantastic, ordered a couple of sandwiches, they were the best sandwiches we had on our two weeks away. They had so much filling we could of shared one between us. And to top it all it's dog friendly. A real gem of a find

Cafe Society is still the best coffee in the area. Their capachino is excellent. You have tried the rest now try the best

I wasn't really sure of the format on first arriving, do if I to a table or do I wait, as there were no signs suggesting anything, although there were plenty of signs once around the corner informing ordering at the counter. Can't fault the staff, friendly and cheerful but what should have warned me was how quiet it was on a lunch time when various other places I'd passed were fairly busy (not chocked full but still busy). And nothing seemed to be too much trouble. It seemed clean and tidy. The cakes looked lovely but I behaved (sort of as I'm supposed to be on a diet) so can't comment other than they looked good and the slices I saw served seemed a good size. The scone was nice, although the jam was a bit weird in that the cream and jam came together in a little pot with the jam balancing on top of rather a lot of cream. Not really sure what flavour the jam was, I'm thinking raspberry (definitely not strawberry) but it was weird but in a nice way. It was a fruit scone, I'll admit I prefer plain but that was OK as there wasn't actually a lot of fruit in it for its size (it was quite big)But the tea, I love tea, can't beat a pot of tea but this I could hardly drink. It tasted stewed even though I poured it within seconds of it reaching the table. The weird thing is it looked pale yet still tasted stewed(?) I managed to drink the first cup with the addition of two sugars (not the biggest cup and I no longer take sugar in my tea or coffee) but I could still taste it over the sugar. Yes I refilled as I was in need of drink but could not finish even with more sugar. I'd actually have to say that this was the worst cup of tea I've ever had :(

To be completely honest, we wouldn't have popped in if it hadn't been raining. All I can say is thank you mother nature! Lovely lady behind the counter who was really helpful. Good cuppa and fab slice of cake! Thank you :D

Visited this cafe today with our family and this is a lovely little cafe with a large selection of cakes. The waffles were brilliant and freshly made. Would highly recommend!

We had passed this café when we arrived in Bridlington, saw the sign dogs allowed and we all said last refreshment stop. Really friendly serviced nothing was to much trouble we all enjoyed out tea cakes tea's and coffee. Would recommend this lovely clean place to anyone. My husband went to the toilets and came back and told the young girl serving that he had never been in such nice clean toilets.Sally the dog wants to go back for another biscuit !!!

We have stopped off here twice after feeling the Spa cafe was expensive. The coffee is second to none and the vast selection of cakes is to die for!

A clean and friendly cafe with very nice cakes. Offers a good selection of coffees, a range of teas and a food menu with a variety of sandwiches, panini's and snacks. A nice place to stop off at and refuel.

We visited Brid for Our Annual Northern Soul Wk/End. We Always pop in for Our Daily Coffee & Cake (for Me!). The Lime Cheese Cake was a Mouth Wateringly Perfect 10/10. Frothy Coffee is Georgeous. Staff are Lovely & Friendly. We can't fault either the Food or Service Highly recommended. Thank You Once Again Ladies XX

We popped into this cafe several weeks ago on a cool miserable day with our friends , 2 golden retrievers & 1 Labrador , we were instantly made welcome, the dogs were all offered biscuits & water & the food was a very good standard. Despite allowing dogs it was exceptionally clean including the posh toilet. We were made so welcome we went in again during our stay.

We spent a few days in Bridlington. My wife, two kids and a new puppy (Belle) and had passed the Cafe time and time again but up to now never had a table for 4 free. Today we passed and dived in (dogs welcome). Cakes looked great, so ordered a white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake, toasted teacake, mocha, tea and two chocolate sundaes. Price was reasonable.Wow - all were excellent and very large portions. Fuss was made of our puppy and even treated with Gravy bones. Our 8 and 9 year old children eyes nearly exploded from their heads when they saw the sundaes. They were huge and covered in malteezers. Thoroughly enjoyable food and ambience with such lovely staff who were friendly without being in your face. We are already planning for our next visit!

visited after reading reviews. Ordered 2 cappuccinos and lunch. Unfortunately the coffee was scalding hot with 1mm of foamed milk-not a cappuccino. I took it back and said that it was way too hot to drink and that I would have a tea instead(usually a safe option). Food was ok as was the tea but they insisted on charging for the coffee despite it not being a cappuccino- very disappointing as the staff were otherwise pleasant as were the premises.

Spotted that they allow dogs and it looked a lovely place so in we popped. Friendly, chatty staff, spotlessly clean and excellent coffee. Our dog was offered a treat too! We'll be back next time in Bridlington. Keep up the good work ladies.

Called in today from the many cafes on offer. Service was with a smile, however we asked if their coffee was filter or not ? Turned out to be expresso , too strong for my wifes taste. Food for a lunch time treat was lovely, full choice of different home made cakes. Would visit once again.

We stopped at this cafe for some dinner whilst on a winter day trip to Bridlington. Service was excellent, very friendly and chatty staff. The food was fabulous. Even the toilet was fabulous. I loved the "let it go" ha really brought a smile to my face!! Well done cafe society!!

I am regular visitor to this cafe. The staff are always very friendly, nothing is too much trouble. The drinks and food are always enjoyable, and there is a very good selection of cakes. The waffles with ice cream and fresh Strawberry are delicious. It's definately one of Bridlingtons Gems. Big Smiles All Round.

My family an I never fail to pop in to our favourite cafe cafe society bridge Street warm welcoming and inviting beautifull cakes displayed taste divine and served with a smile owner and staff ready to help and always cheerfull and chatty and beautifull smiles please don't ever change x

Just had to say what a lovely warm friendly cafe,with smiling helpful staff,very clean and fresh looking and not too pricey,popped in after a fresh walk along the sea front,also dog friendly,definitely will be calling in again and recommending

Not good still not good. Not got any better. Still poor. No your not Katie price. Cos that was all we could here when sat down eating that you want to be like her,well not with a run down cafe your not love.
