Rushed us to order and had two different waitresses ask us in less than 1 minute. Ordered the fillet steak, one was just about edible the other we had eaten three pieces then left it. Made them aware when they took our plates and they offered us free deserts which we didn’t take because we didn’t want one. The waitress brought our bill and said she had reduced one of them because it was not satisfactory. We looked at the bill and she reduced some of the amount for one of the steaks because we had eaten three pieces! Didn’t even want a refund but oh my, charging for eating 3 pieces I have never known 😂😂

We hadn't booked and had a friendly welcome by the chap behind the bar. Hannah was our waitress, she was friendly and very professional. We had 3 courses and all of the food was spot on, the onion soup, my steak and dessert was all perfect . The decor and warmth of the restaurant gives you that french feel. Also the rest of the staff were great too. 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼 We will definitely be going to other cafe rouges.

Went here for a belated birthday celebration, armed with a special offer. The food was v nice, the prices not exorbitant, and the staff very competent. I had the Poulet Breton which I enjoyed. They were friendly and persistent in making sure we got our special deal, even though it took a few goes. Hope to be back soon.

23/9/23 We booked a table for 8:15pm. On arrival the restaurant was very quiet and lacking in atmosphere. We all ordered minute steak, but one was so tough that they deducted it from the bill for us. At around 9pm we asked tosee the desert menu, only to be told that the ovens had been switched off for the day and they couldn’t do deserts. A few minutes later the lady serving us offered a choice of 4 deserts not requiring the ovens. We were so fed up by this time that we decided to go without. Unless something changes, this restaurant won’t be there much longer. We found that the service was lacking in care

Sunday afternoon lunch. Food was ok and well priced. Fully put off by service as the woman (glasses brown hair) didnt come and take our order. Once I approached the bar (20 mins later) and ordered, I was made to feel awkward throughout ordering due to her rude mannerisms. Won’t be returning purely due to majorly poor service. Don’t recommend.

Not a great experience. In a drive to cut costs (while charging high prices) the quality of the ingredients has come down a lot. The croque monsieur is made of reconstituted ham, not a slice of ham but tiny bits of it put together. Not a pretty sight. It used to be good but it’s gone down hill a lot. Service just about polite, certainly not friendly. We won’t return.

I love cafe rouge, me and my son went for lunch. There was one waitress seating people, taking drinks and food orders and payment. She was very busy but was extremely polite and was not flustered by all the customers. The food was delicious as always. Good little lunch stop.

Should have read the review going into this chain restaurant. The service is great given that they had ver poor comment a year before. The main point is the food. We come on a week day and it's not busy at all. The starter is soup of the day first three is creamy and tasty but then we wait for 15 minutes and the following soup are watery and tasteless so it was quite disappointing. So this is a bad sign for the main course, the steak are over done and taste like rubber and chewy. The chicken is dry and seems to be over cooked as well. It's not a busy night and the chef shouldn't make such big mistake on a night with only a few customers. Obviously, there is no manager and only 2 waiters, one left in the middle of our dinner. I should recommend the management serverly look at their food problems as I saw their review they used to have quite a lot of customers. It's not surprising thie french chain restaurant is struggling to survive.

What can I say, it’s a cafe rogue so it’s fine for a chain restaurant. It’s a little pricey but food is nice. Service was friendly. Annoyingly someone left chewing gum on my seat which ruined my trousers - not the staffs fault and they were apologetic but did ruin the overall experience a little!

Toxic trio. *Over priced, *Undersized with a *Rude manager. I ordered a Walford salad, ( £12.95) no idea what I got but I can tell you it was not a salad plate. I sent it back and asked for the seabass instead (£18.95). The manager promptly appeared in front of us and advised that 'any' replacement meal ordered would involve payment for BOTH meals. I opted not to order!!! While I understand that they were under no obligation to change my meal, my view was that the meal I was presented with was poor and totally unacceptable, and I would expect customer satisfaction to be a priority. Clearly not with this particular resteraunt. Our bill was £53 after a disgruntled discussion with the manager she reluctantly agreed to deduct £6 from the bill. £47 lighter with me hungry we left. My advice is to bypass this resteraunt if you want a fulfilling meal at an acceptable price..

I had never been to a Cafe Rouge before. The staff where not very kind when they didn't understand my words (I was very tired). However, they were good at everything else. Food is terribly overpriced. I paid almost £15 for a chicken burger where the chicken was just a small thin fillet in a bun with sauce and condiments. Same goes for other dishes. They didn't mind my toddler exploring the empty areas, so that's a plus.

As always the food was very acceptable and well presented and the staff were great. Sadly there was an insufficient number of staff due to staff absences. This caused a delay in delivery of our meal. As our visit was for a pre-theatre meal, we had to rush our main course and we’re left with no time to have a dessert and/or coffee. This will not deter us from dining at Café Rouge again.

Our first impressions weren't good. It should be noted that if you have an allergy you'll have to run the gauntlet of questions and management avoidance of risk. All before you've been shown to a table. That said, a waiter called Sheldon showed what service and empathy are all about. He resolved the situation with professionalism. We had a quick lunch and I have to say the food was good. Well cooked, presented and served. Will be back, but ready for the allergy quiz.

So Me & my partner came to this restaurant tonight we waited 15 minutes for our drinks to arrive them we ordered our meal..I ask for the steak ( we'll done )waited another 20 minutes when it arrived I told the waitress the steak was medium rare which I didn't ask for .she took it back then gave me a second steak when I cut the steak blood came out! So I then told her once again I didn't ask for medium rare ..it was sent back in the mean time my partner was already eating he's meal.. I was still waiting another 39 minutes for my meal to arrive..by this time my partner finished he's meal..I went to the waitress told her to cancel my meal as its taking to long and my partner has finished eating..there is no point me eating mine when it should be eaten the same time ..there was no apology no other option..not even a manager came to speak to me ..absolutely disgusting customer service..I would not be going back there again ..the staff need more training to deal with customer service

Food tonight was enjoyable, however the service was very poor, the young lady who served us was doing a great job but the managers, who were dressed not for purpose, and one chewing gum were woeful, kept waiting for far too long, lack of acknowledgement, walking past, taking no notice of customers, leaving our drinks on the bar for for for too long, had to ask them if it was too much trouble, given a table that needed cleaning, albeit with a false "sorry " ...short staffed, but it wasn’t busy, could do with some genuine customer care, because I felt they were only going through the motions....

Called in just after 10.00am, hoping Breakfast was being served? It was. It turned out there was only one Staff member serving ! Despite this she was efficient and cheerful. Coffee & a pot of Tea we're ordered plus 2 Orange 🍊 juices. We chose 1 vegetarian breakfast and 1 Grand Breakfast. Well !! They arrived and weren't disappointed; lots of different choices and even a neatly chopped Advocado accompanied the vegetarian breakfast. Thumbs up to the Server ( realised that I didn't note down her name), she deserves a Payrise. 9/10 for the Breakfasts and 10/10 to the server! Thank you café Rouge. ( Not sure what would have happened if a Coach party of 20 plus had arrived. I'm sure the Server would have been effective .

Pros: *I had a tastecard (free trial) which made the meal cheaper as the prices are high for the quality of food offered Cons: *Where do I start. We didn’t have our drinks order taken for 25 mins. Food took one hour to come *Wrong order was brought twice to our table, staff were very poor on our visit *Quality of food was well below average *Drinks were warm? On a hot day, really? *People walked out as they were taking too long to take orders etc I’ve given two stars as they were severely understaffed and I have sympathy with that. However the waitress was poorly trained and would have made her job easier by writing down orders to avoid mistakes rather than trying to remember everything. Visiting this Cafe Rouge has now made me not want to visit this struggling chain again, it’s clear they are cutting costs. Unless you have a tastecard or voucher go elsewhere

I live local I've passed this many times in Salford quays went there last night with three grandchildren and my wife if I could get them less than I star I would absolutely shocking service was not the staff fault did try best there were too short staffed a lot of tables books quite full will not be going here again they completely mucked up in my order they forgot about my grandkids meals our meals were luke warm even the drinks they forgot one was. I will never visit this place again. My husband and I waited for so long at the door to be greeted that we eventually approached the server and asked if we should seat ourselves! When she did give us a seat she was abrupt and unfriendly. Sat us at a table and left, returned to seat two other couples next to us, gave them cutlery and napkins but never gave any to us! So my husband and I got up and left and took our money to another restaurant nearby. Very rude, management need to train their staff to treat all people equally not matter the race! I give them zero stars!

Awful, rude waiter. On 9th July 2022, we went as a family to have a light bite and some drinks. We sat outside as we had a pushchair. I walked into order only to come upon the rudest waiters I've ever come across! He asked if we were going to order food or just drinks, I said both. He then went onto say that they don't serve food outside, then walked walked off. I waited thinking he'd come back. Managed to catch him again, I pointed out that there was a couple who were served food and were eating outside. He pointed out that his shift was finishing in 10 mins and that he couldn't serve us food outside and he walked off again in a huff throwing his hands in the air. So horribly rude. He also said he doesn't make up these rules, it's company policy. I was so upset. I just wanted a light meal out with my family. Before I left, I pointed the behaviour of this waiter out to the lady behind the till who could only apologise on his behalf and she genuinely looked sorry. We walked away and went to eat at another place a few doors down. We must have been there minimum an hour. As we finished and left, we went past cafe rouge, guess what? The rude waiter was still working. So basically, he blatantly lied he couldn't serve us cos he just couldn't be bothered or he had issues serving people from diverse communities? Managers/owners of cafe rouge in Salford Quays- please take note of the above feedback. I know restaurants and so many places are currently struggling to get staff, but surely you could do better than this guy? If you do read reviews and reply or act on them, please check video footage if you have it as that would confirm what I've said. Rude and obnoxious guy, I certainly will not be going back there.

A little disappointed today my garlic mushrooms needed a little more garlic and I thought the beef bourgonon portion was too small considering the price charged. Not really an adult portion in a soup dish. My wife had a chicken salad which contained a lot of lettuce in relation to the chicken. Would think twice before returning here.

Unfortunately I can only review experience I had, which because of their inability to ever answer a phone is very limited. Trying to book a table by phone as I needed to check if they had certain items available, turned out to be an absolute waste of time. After eight phone calls over a 1 hour period The call is answered automatically, however advises you there’s no one available and then cuts you off, we decided to take a reservation for somewhere that they had actual people that you have a telephone worked. Clearly but whatever the reason your staff do not answer phones. Therefore may I ask why you even bother to list the phone number as that is just pointless and can I say infuriating for customers. Additionally the location is the Lowry, and I will assure you that your location was not jampacked this evening. And if it was jampacked the wonderful thing is at least our party of eight didn’t add to clearly what was such an over populated dining experience, to the extent that not a single person in an hour could answer a phone.

My husband had a steak with fries & pepper sauce which was fine. I ordered a cheese ceaser salad which consisted mainly of lettuce, a fre very salty anchovies and the most meagre of portion of chicken breast i have ever seen. I think the cost of this was somewhere in the region of £13 to £14.i know i should have said something at the time, my only excuse was we were attending a show at the Lowry, so I didn't want to spoil the evening, but I will not be choosing that again. Excellent service by the staff and a beautiful lemon tart partly redeemed the experience.
