Great food, very friendly & good service, best in Eltham

Food was very poor, veg curry was dismal, onion bhaji was greasy and soft. Chicken tika balti and Biriani were tasteless.

Lovely fresh quality food to takeaway. Was nice and hot too when it arrived. Chicken korma, chicken tikka and rice were delicious really tasty. Excellent.

I just ordered half a tandoori chicken and egg paratha from here off one of the online platforms and I've got to say it was absolutely delicious to the last bone 10/10

Small portions of curry and sides. Loads of rice but that is cheap. In their defence they offered more sauce but why serve shot portions in the first place.

Worst food I have ever tasted. The kebabs were shop bought and had not been cooked in a tandoor oven. Rogan josh was very bland and tateless. Will not order from this resturant again

I used to buy from this Indian takeaway about two years ago and it used to be lovely, im not sure if change owners but I’ve ordered twice now in the last 3 weeks and definitely won’t be ordering from here again, my Bombay potatoes were more like wedges with a funny taste to them and my madras had about four pieces of fat instead of lamb so disappointed

Only had takeaway but food was tasty. Order and collection was straightforward no problems.

Due to cartons for take away don’t even get enough vegetable curry to cover making it a dry meal when the cartons use to be bigger marking the meal dry

To be honest food took nearly 1.5hours to get to me and when it did arrive it was cold needing us to microwave it up!! I did call to complain on this occasion as all my deliveries have arrived cold but all I got was we will sort you out next time!! No you should have returned with hot fresh food and taken away the cold food!

The food will need improvement for sure, food is about flavours balance, salt was in excess on this occasion. Portion sizes are fine comparing with the price paid from the menu. The hygiene control will need improvement too, the rice box had a piece of long hair on the carton lid. I do not like to leave bad reviews or one star, I will like to give a 2.5 star review, I’m hopping the management of the business will take my review as a constructive observation and to take action from their end to improve the quality.

Por lo general, no recibimos comida para llevar con tanta frecuencia, pero cuando lo hacemos, pedimos de Well Hall Tandoori, que siempre disfrutamos. Desde COVID y porque estamos más en casa, hemos tenido más comida para llevar y decidimos probar Caf Raj, lo cual nos alegra haberlo hecho. La entrega fue muy rápida, las porciones un poco más pequeñas, pero esto se refleja en el precio y la comida en sí es muy buena con mucho, mucho sabor. ¡Usaremos Caf Raj nuevamente!

Excellent Food, all staff very attentive.

Have eaten here a few times as I live local and it's usually ok, however all dishes seen to have changed, maybe a new chef. Bland and tasteless, Rogan sauce was like tomato puree, no spice, no flavour apart from tomato. Plenty of other Indian restaurants around so won't be back, sorry guys.

Hemos utilizado este lugar un par de veces y disfrutamos mucho de nuestras comidas. La última vez fue excepcional y usaré Cafe raj ahora como mi nuevo restaurante indio preferido. La comida es deliciosa y llegó puntualmente y caliente. Gracias cafe raj. Cuide de sus clientes y los clientes se ocuparán de usted. Me complace que ahora me tenga como cliente permanente.

I regularly order take away from this restaurant. They always have my order ready on time for collection! The food is delicious and staff are amazing to cater your needs if you need any changes in the curry.

Ordered from Uber Eats - strangely more expensive than on the website?! Ordered Chicken Korma, Butter Chicken and Chana Paneer. Both chicken dishes tasted... the same. And neither tasted like Korma or Butter chicken. Bother were really unpleasantly sweet and the sauce was... chunky? Unpleasant texture. The chicken was cooked but with small portions. The Chana Paneer wasn't good, it tasted bland, sloppily put together. Hopefully it was a mistake and the food is usually better. The ratings are high, so was really surprised with the quality.

The biryani is absolutely delicious. The starters are superb. The service is the best thing about this place. When you're a regular customer you get the best service. They sometimes hold event nights which is quite cool. Best Indian about.

Visited on a Friday night with friends.Really impressed with the service very friendly. Happy to accommodate off menu choices. Food was really excellent and tasted freshly made unlike many Indian restaurants. Not that near to us but will go out of our way to be back as far better than most Indian offerings in Greenwich and Blackheath.

I ordered a Non veg thali set meal, when the order arrived the containers where miniature. I phoned the restaurant to ask why & was told that it was a sample type meal and it stated so on the menu. IT DID NOT!! When I told the restaurant this instead of trying to compensate me for THIER mistake (which the person I spoke to realised as well. After checking HIS menu.) I was offered nothing. I then said I would return the food for my money back. After having waited for nearly an hour for it in the first place for my meal, I thought this was disgusting customer service. I also wondered who would be getting my food now.

We have neen to this restaurant three times now and the food is consistently superb. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend.

Enjoyed my meal the food was very tasty and service friendly and efficient but at the end of the meal I tried to pay with Scottish money and was refused then had to use a credit card really annoying and they lost thier tip

We call in and dine in weekly and have always enjoyed quality cuisine at affordable prices. Very friendly staff who always very helpful and are able to taylor food to suit. Wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. Best overall curry house in the south east.

We passed by quite late for lunch...and BINGO,,,, they started refreshing the buffet for us...VERY tasty and allowed me to taste everything even though i ordered Tandoori king prawns from the regular Menu.Perhaps i wont do that again as the Buffet was VERY nice and a good selection of my favorites!Will return on my next visit to U.K. from America.!

Just wow... We moved here a month ago and having kitchen in .. So takeaways r us .... But after so many failed attempts .....we hit this place .....again just blooming wow ...the flavour the surce ... The blooming chicken so fresh .. Juicy ...man o man ... As they say ... Went to this place as it is close to home. Dal was nice but mixed veg was more like boiled vegetables. A tad expensive considering there is nothing special in the ambience. Paratha were fine.But if you want to have indian, you can find better places. Head to central london for dishooms, punjab etc

We had not been to this restaurant for about 12 years, we wish we hadn't gone again, walked in to what we thought was a sauna , air conditioning was broken and it was so hot in there,Food can only be described as well below average, the sauce on my wife's dish was so thick you needed a chisel, overall 0 out of 10Will not be returningAwful food slow service big disappointment

I was really impressed by the service. Everything I requested was delivered to me swiftly. The guy at the bar made very interesting drinks for me and my wife and had a lot of banta. The food was amazing which topped of the night. I would defiantly rcommened this to everyone as it made my wife as well as my wife's. 5 stars will be back next week!

I took a trip to Cafe Raj today with my friends. The food was excellent and the service was great. Positive staff who make you feel welcome and serve with a smile. I highly recommend this restaurant and you will not be disappointed.

I wanted a special dinner with my wife and kids, so i took them to my favourite restraunt in london cafe raj. This place had always been special in my life becuase i had my 25th wedding anniversary here with my wife. As always i was pleased with the service, as also the food and supprisingly so were my kids. I would recommend anyone to visit this brilliant food place.5 stars as always !

This has been my local for the past 8 years and has generally been good food and service. However on a recent visit the younger than usual waiting staff were rude and inattentive. At the end of the meal they offered my wife and I a free drink but after we paid the bill it had not arrived. We noticed that the staff had been messing around with their friends at the bar and giving them free drinks - it was basically a private party the we were in the way of. We asked again for the drink that they offered us, but after 10 minutes it did not arrive so we left. After so many years of loyal custom this is bitterly disappointing, but after such terrible service we will not be returning. Avoid at all cost - this is a disgraceful waste of what used to be a decent curry house. Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere. You have been warned. Life's too short for poor food and bad service - trust me, this place doesn't deserve your custom.

The staff in this restaurant are very friendly and helpful , they can adapt meals to what you want , making it spicier or milder depends on your taste , the food is very tasty and full of flavour

I had been invited by a friend to Cafe Raj on a Wednesday evening as there was entertainment that turned to be a singer.. The food was sub- standard and flavourless and I didn't even finish my meal. When my friend and I received the bill, to my shock the bill was £78. We had a set meal (starter and main with no desert) ,with 1 bottle of water and 1 small beer.I think this was way over priced as my local Cafe Eltham charges half the price for two people including beers. I believe the menu is misleading as I wouldn't have paid this much for me and my friend.I was very disappointed with the whole experience and won't be going back there again..

A very friendly and welcoming restaurant. We visited with our 2 young children. Food was very good and the naga chicken was brilliant.

We've been here atleast a dozen times, and over the last year, watch it demise... tonight was just too much of a downward slide. Young staff, without a clue, incredibly over salted food, dirty forks, 30 minute wait for a coffee, mains took well over an hour, 1 side plate per table? The lack of management has become apparent. The staff tonight were really poor, too busy in there own conversations.

Nice decor, very pleasant staff, good varied menu with usual and new dishes. A very nice place to enjoy a well cooked and presented spicy meal. Not in the most scenic area but inside it's a little haven.

We enjoy coming to Cafe Raj, and the food is always a joy. The staff are very friendly and happy to make your food as you like. I've taken my parents who arent fans of indian food as they think its too spicy! well not at Cafe Raj it doesnt have to be. They're more than happy to go again. Plus their enternaintment events are well worth booking up for!

When asked what my 5 year old wanted for her 6th birthday she said "go for a curry with family and friends".So i called cafe Raj and booked a table for 16.I explained what it was for and they said they would decorate the tables for me.on arrival the tables were amazing. pink table cloths,glitter ,party blowers and 3 foil helium balloons along with many other balloons.Once sat down the staff come over to get my daughters name and they quickly returned with a card and a gift bag with a cushion,note pad and pens in it as a present.I really didn't expect this and at the end they charged no extra.The food was also very good. all people getting food at once, no errors and very tasty.Thank you to cafe raj

Seven of us for our Christmas girls get together. Food was very very good. Madras and chicken curry and chicken tikka masala all perfectly cooked. Good size potions. Arrived at same time. Nice and hot. Clean loos. Cheerful, attentive and friendly staff. Made our night. Thank you for our complimentary drink.

Friendly staff, eager to share their knowledge and advice. By far the best curry in town. I had the garlic chilli chicken with pilau rice which was a recommended from the staff - wholly flavoursome yet spicy.

This place doesn't look that tempting from outside but they sure know how to cook food. Very friendly service, nice pappadom starters, great Indian dish and one very nice Peshawar dish. Definitely worth the visit if around.

An unexpected fresh and fancy indian restaurant on well hall road, with good portions and great food. Good value for your Money. They do take away but is a nice place to sit as well, they are always busy which is a good sign.

If you like a good tasty curry without having your mouth set alight this is the place I am a regular user of the cafe raj and can honestly say that I have not received a bad meal yet either eat in or delivery .Try the khana akbori it's one of the nicest flavoursome curry I've had .
