Cafe Picante in Highland

Absolutely Love going to Cafe Picante if ever in Alness. The food is always good. The chips are really tasty and freshly made. The Paninis are lovely and probably one of my favourite things to get in there Absolutely Love the omelettes as well The cheesecake I got was disappointing though as have had better cheesecakes from supermarkets apart from that I really enjoy Cafe Picante. For main meals and everything l've had so far l'd give a 5 out of 5 stars however the cheesecake i would only give 1 out of 5 as had better cheesecakes elsewhere and the cheesecake is £4 a slice so definitely wouldn't buy again. So main meal food really good dessert wise not so much. Helpful staff as even when busy staff do help and get round to you. I will be returning though and it is a good place to eat and handy for when you're in Alness as it's a good spot where it's situated.

I come here most Saturday mornings for breakfast, which is always the really outstanding Spanish Omelet, fries and salad, washed down with Irn Bru. I get here after completing Parkrun just around the corner and the craic with the locals and visitors alike is excellent. Staff are always very friendly and accommodating and we move the tables together to get closer in order to chat. Not expensive and well worth visiting. I love this place.

Stopped with my dad, niece and nephew for lunch after a long drive up from Ayrshire. Dad thoroughly enjoyed his bacon roll, our omelettes were first class and the chips were perfect. Quick and friendly service too.

After completing the Alness parkrun, we joined the locals and volunteers for coffee at this cafe. The staff were welcoming and cheerful. The atmosphere was friendly and the coffee was very good. An excellent way to start Saturday.

we had a takeaway pizza. it was really tasty and not expensive. they have a good choice on the menu and were friendly.

Picante was our restaurant of choice during a week long stay in Alness. There are pizzas, burgers and kebabs on the menu as well as some traditional English dishes. Kebabs are packed with meat and flavour and the pizzas are very good. Service is excellent and quick with friendly staff. Definitely visit next time.

Ordered one pizza, lesson learned. Pizza - No tomato puree, overly cheesy, undercooked base. Very poor. May return to try something else from the menu but it doesn't bode well that the chefs (Ok, cooks) were happy to let that pizza out of the kitchen. It should have been put straight in the bin.

I use picante regularly, both with my mum for lunch and for a cheeky takeaway. The food is always great quality, well prepared and good value. The staff are very helpful and welcoming. Always a good choice.

I had not visited the Picante for a few years but was pleasantly surprised on our recent visit. Place was nice and clean and was given a nice welcome by the waitress. The menu had a very good selection to choose from and the prices were pretty good. Choose from filled rolls, panni’s, toasties, full breakfasts, full meals, pizzas, kebabs, coffees, tea and a selection of cakes. Sit in or takeaway.

We went for lunch . There was a good atmosphere as it was busy.but we were served quickly by a lovely waitress and the food was nice and hot. Fairly good prices

Called in here whilst passing for a light lunch. Basic tables and simple menu, think burgers. Service was efficient and friendly enough. I ordered a cheese and tomato toastie. I was not given a choice of bread. The food was OK. My pot of tea was minute. Prices were probably average.

Café Picante offers a cheaper option for a tasty meal of substantial portion size. Based on Kebabs, Pizzas and more traditional fare such as steak, gammon steak, fish and chips etc.

Cafe Picante has some pretty good scottish style food, and some awesome pizzas that you can choose from. It also has wifi, which is a big plus for me. Service and prices are good as well.
