Cafe Paolo in Barnet

A memorable breakfast, the presentation, atmosphere and friendliness of the staff were all pretty unique for London! The whole experience was (as we say in Liverpool) Top of the Pops! Simply the best breakfast I’ve had as far back as I can remember!

We drove here on our way home from our London trip, I’d seen reviews on YouTube from various people stating it’s the best breakfast in London, I had to try it out. First off, the staff, a total of two, are brilliant! The young lady front of house is friendly, helpful and always had a smile. The lad knocking out the food was A1 at Lloyd’s, he came to the table, asked how the breakfast was, and unlike a few who ask that question, his concern was totally genuine. The breakfast was, to be fair, was more than worth the 35 minute detour home! The quantity was unreal, I didn’t know if I should eat it or attempt to climb it! The quality was top banana! Black AND white puddin’, my Irish roots were more than satisfied! Freshly cooked bubble and squeak, mushroom, tomatoes, the best of bacon and sausage and a bowl of baked beans. Top quality ingredients. Quality is usually outweighed by quantity, but not here! The boss had a hash breakfast, a kind of shakshukary affair. She raved about it for most of the journey out of London! As good as the food was, the atmosphere and the friendliness of the staff were as memorable. As a Scouser (with both Scottish and Irish heritage) I hear a lot about how the welcome is warmer up North, I don’t dispute that but I can assure you won’t get a warmer welcome than you get at Paolo’s, and I doubt you’ll get a better breakfast! The highlight of the trip for me!

Lets start with the welcome, ? it felt like turning up at my nans house. Went with the anglo-dutch family and they are all use to an english breakfast, but this was another level. Had the "small "and it was enough to satisfy an elephant. I didnt find it expensive, i allways belive quality costs and this was quality food.!!! Paolo even made my daughter a mini pan of pancakes when he found out she was dutch.

Excellent breakfasts, the best in the area

Small yet a very popular cafe, they are open on Sundays until 2:30pm. I went around 12pm and had to wait a few minutes for a table, I would advise you call before you go. Breakfast is not cheap but plentifully and cooked very well, customer service is excellent, I would definitely go back.

Open at 5am everyday. Lovely guy who runs it, great friendly service and great coffee!

Banging place to get a big breakfast.

Walked in, very busy, waitress completely ignored me, stood there for five minutes while she didn't smile or acknowledge me. I said hello as would've liked to book for later or another time. But walked out due to redness. Shame it looked nice but felt it very unfriendly.

Had a beautiful breakfast here and would highly recommend! The food was made with fresh ingredients and presented beautifully. Customer service was excellent, felt so welcomed and will definitely be returning. The attention to detail makes all the difference!

Grabbed a BLT roll and Chicken escalope ciabatta to go. Fast service and very moorish sandwiches both!. Not cheap but nothing is nowadays , will go back, one customer in so perhaps why so fast- worked to our benefit

Two of us went there.Both of us had cheese n tomato omelette with chips and coffee.i was shocked when i went to pay.It was £30.30 I only went to this place as my usual cafe was closed for Xmas. There we have the same food and we only pay £19.50.Also he allowed a man to eat in to bring his dog inside.Is this allowed.?

I would have given this a 10 stars if I could. Perfect breakfast, great friendly service in a small cafe setting. All our food came steaming hot quickly after we ordered....poached eggs perfect and runny, onion rings and fried chicken crispy and waffles fluffy and crispy.... the orange slices are sweet. Best breakfast in London!!

Wether you want a quick coffee and roll in morning or a full lunch this cafe is fantastic. I have been going to this cafe for a number of years . The food is amazing and Paul the owner always finds new ways to cook. From traditional breakfasts and lunches to mixing up and inventing new ways to serve . The service from Paul, Daria and the team is always fantastic . Friendly , courteous and good fun . I highly recommend it .

This place really punches above its weight. I loved it on my first visit, then took a really fussy eater on my second.... they rated it 15 out of 5.... My advice? Try it for yourself, definitely.

Watched a couple of YouTube blogs featuring this cafe in acton Vale Three of us went to try it out all thought it was amazing. Paul the owner was very welcoming dished out menu's then told us whatever we wanted he would cook . All the ingredients cooked fresh and great quality don't think I will need to eat for the rest of the week .Food tasted delicious and fresh definitely recommend and definitely return

We visited after seeing Cafe Paolo on the Gary Eats YouTube channel. It's a small cafe in Acton Vale. It was busy when we were there. My full English breakfast turned up looking impressive sizzling in a cast iron pan. The bacon was very good, the sausages, eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes, bubble and squeak, black and white puddings were good. The tea was so so. One disadvantage of the frying pan was that the food stayed roasting hot throughout and could burn your tongue. Note that the price has increased in the weeks since the video. The full breakfast is now £15.95, expensive.

Dropped into this cafe after seeing it on You Tube I have to say I was not disappointed it was the best breakfast I have ever had and what's more it came up sizzling in a pan. All the ingredients were top quality, the staff were fantastic. This breakfast was cooked by people who really care about their job and they made me feel at home. What a wonderful cafe I can't rate it highly enough will certainly be going back as soon as possible

My son and I had the Full English on an incredibly dreary wet morning. Between the food and the great interaction I had with some of the local customers and the colorful owner, couldn’t ask for anything better to get the motor humming properly for the rest of the rainy day.

Look, simple, it's the best caf in the area. The portions are huge. I challenge you to finish the whole breakfast hash. And the team here is lovely and friendly.

Best brunch ever ! We were lucky enough to stay not far from here when visited London and even luckier to get a table both times. The menu is amazing and caters for everyone’s tastes from smoothies to good old English to fancy assed avocado and chorizo with spicy hollandaise. Service is amazing and so friendly. I had smoked salmon, scrambled eggs, avocado, the tastiest bagel ever. My dinning companion had pancakes , bacon and maple syrup on our first visit and both were delicious. We sampled the menu every visit and the English cooked breakfast was amazing served in a heated frying pan to stop it getting cold. Portions are huge but the always offer to put your left overs to take home. Sad to be home no and really wish you were on my doorstep. Word to the wise - if you can’t get a table as they are so busy it is worth the wait.

Came here for a spot of brunch with friends and was blown away by the whole experience. The service was welcoming and friendly - you can't help but feel at home. Quaint and cared for - this place has everything you want for a breakfast/brunch/lunch spot. The food was DELICIOUS and reasonably priced. My friend is notoriously fussy and she was the first to say we will certainly be back! A must visit - you won't be disappointed. Until next time Cafe Paolo!

We travelled a long way specifically to come to this café and it was great. We were able to sit outside as it was a nice day. I hope we'll be able to visit again as it was so good. Staff were lovely, food was delicious. Full English for him, Classic American for me which was three American pancakes, two sausage patties, crispy bacon, two hashbrowns, scrambled eggs and maple syrup on the side. I added fresh fruit which was banana, strawberries and blueberries. The bottom of one of my pancakes was burnt but I didn't care enough to do anything about it. I feel sure it would have been handled well had I complained. He loved his food: two sausages, two bacon, beans (which he swapped for extra tomatoes), tomatoes, bubble and squeak, two eggs, black pudding, white pudding, mushrooms and two slices of toast and butter. If we go again, he'll have the small breakfast and add bits (which will make it quite expensive) as it was really too much. He thought the cappuccino was good and he's pretty fussy. Highly recommended!

Travelled 131 miles by train from Somerset primarily to eat here. Was not disappointed. Great quality, service and value. A gem of a place and even if I had to take a de tour to eat here, I certainly would again.

After seeing a few YouTube videos about this place, I decided to get the train to London 131 miles away and made this my first port of call on arrival. Great service, great food and great value. The owner Paul couldn't do enough to make sure whatever you wanted to eat was catered for. Lovely small touches like nice glass bottles of fridge cold water put on the table without even asking (which on a hot muggy day was very much welcomed) I had the full English which was one of the most expensive items on the menu at £14.95 but consisted of 2 sausages, bacon, mushrooms, beans (in a separate ramekin), white pudding, black pudding, 2 eggs (I had mine scrambled) tomatoes, bubble and squeak AND 2 slices of toast (with butter). Would recommend without hesitation and I will be going there when I am next in London without a doubt.

Looked forward to the full English experience having been very well reviewed by Darren John. Unfortunately I was served a grease filled frying pan of overcooked eggs, over salted bubble, tasteless sausage and slimy mushrooms. Maybe my northern tastes are not aligned with London expectations. The staff however were wonderful.

The staff were incredibly welcoming and serve up a cracking cup of coffee. The breakfast was quite possibly one of the best I have ever had and I'll definitely be back. Highly recommend their breakfast burritos!

Hands down the best cafe in W3. The service from all staff was outstanding. It doesn't matter what you order everything is scrumptious and delicious and the presentation is top class! It's warm and welcoming and it almost felt like we were on holiday with such lovely weather, great food and wicked atmosphere.The photo speaks for itself. I have visited Cafe Paolo on many occasions, the reason being it has to be one of if not the best breakfasts I have ever had , the food is delicious, well presented and oh my so very tasty the atmosphere is electric, the service warm and friendly and as for the owner he is a character, always charming , boisterous and very amusing, not only a great chef but a very funny individual. I have never left there without feeling fully satisfied . I cannot wait to return Keep it up Cafe Paolo I highly recommend a visit you will not be disappointed.

I visited this cafe on Coronation Day on the recommendation of a breakfast vlogger I follow, who said it was the best breakfast he had ever eaten. He was totally right. It is the best. Unusually my full English came up in its frying pan (a really nice touch) which was crammed with big portions of bacon, eggs, sausages, mushrooms, beans, tomatoes, black and white puddings and glorious home-made bubble 'n' squeak. Every item was top quality and cooked to perfection. I can't fault the meal in any way. The cafe itself is buzzy and friendly and the staff and customers enjoy lots of banter between them. There were many regulars there which in itself is a really good sign. I had a long conversation with the owner Paul from which it was very clear how much he loves what he does. This love is obviously reflected in the quality of the food. So in the light of the Coronation, I crown Cafe Paolo, King of the cafes. 👑

What can I say...just the best breakfast I've had in a long, long time. Proper bubble and just the best sausages I've ever eaten in a café. Go here, you won't be disappointed I promise you.

I had English breakfast in many places. But this one...is different. The most nicer full English breakfast so far.Olso owner is really nice.

There is a blond lady, thinking, she is not just a barista in tiny coffee shop, but manners teacher at Windsor palace or else. Absolutely not acceptable. But, to be faire, there is a guy, may be Paolo by himself, serving exactly what you ordered, without lecturing you, how you should pronounce it..
