Cafe Oscars in Lewisham

A little gem in Ladywell. Splendid rear garden which was just great in the sun - with a good amount of shade. And the coffee was really, really good.

Top of the tree. I was looking for the best Café in LEWISHAM and think I may well have found it. Service, pastries, snacks and superb coffees. We enjoyed the two highlight coffees from Ethiopia and Rwanda, both excellent. Could be served a few degrees warmer but presentation was like for a competition winner. The rear garden was a delight. Definitely looking forward to being back, even though it’s 30+ miles for me.

These guys are amazing, great for the community and supportive of NHS staff such as myself. Lovely coffee. Nicky.

Just an advice anywhere you see a queue does NOT mean it’s good ….especially a queue by the locals 🥱 Bless them they never been knowing for quality food or coffees we seen in Spain , Thailand name It ….so cutting the story short 🙏 Very rude girl at the coffee machine I asked For a cuppicino and I got latte £3.60 Horrid service shame cos the guy with her was nice and helpful I don’t think I’ll going back 👍

Una joya escondida de una cafetería. Para ser justos, solo he tenido pasteles y café, pero han sido excepcionales en todo momento y el personal fue muy cortés, profesional y rápido. La galleta de chocolate estaba deliciosa. Si está en la zona y necesita cafeína, vale la pena echarle un vistazo.

Got a knock on the door to find a Birthday breakfast delivery from Oscar’s! The ‘delivery chap’ stood back by the gate to wish me a very happy birthday. What an unexpected birthday treat arranged by my lovely daughter. Thank you ‘Oscar’s for delivering not only yummy breakfast food but the best flat white I’ve had in months!

Between the bus stop and the station, fitting neatly and compactly into a small unit (although someone told us later there may be a garden at the back). Liked the simple furniture and people. Good fair priced menu.

This cafe used to be a very nice and affordable place to go with friends or family. I am now left feeling ripped off and disgusted by the 'lunch' options and ridiculously small portions. The little amount of food was at least tasty, but I am still bemused by how these people are allowed to get away with this. Expensive prices for what can only be described as a soulless, bohemian experience which takes the word gentrification to a new level. Used to be a decent cafe, now not for me I'm afraid.

This cafe has changed hands and not for the better. It has become trendy and much better on Facebook than in reality. I cannot believe that I just paid £9 for a slice of sourdough toast topped with half a Portobello mushroom, one slice of halloumi, one poached egg topped with flavoured mayo served on a wooden board. The surroundings have become sterile and lacking in character. The clientele are mostly on laptops which creates an office vibe rather than that of a neighbourhood cafe. That aside the food was very tasty and the service pleasant. I am mourning the loss of a community amenity!

1. They’re friendly. 2. The coffee is good (even the decaf!) 3. They serve a cappuccino at the right temperature - I.e. not so-hot-that-you-can’t-drink-it-for-five-minutes-nor-taste-anything-but-heat. So glad I live 5 mins away!

I was really quite disappointed with the size of... Everything. The breakfast menu was tiny, the salmon, although really delicious, was small and overpriced, the coffee and tea is served in mugs and cups that are so thick rimmed that there's barely a sip in them. Service also quite aloof.

So much to say - the coffee is the best in London, the garden in the back is a hidden gem with it's tranquil setting and outsider art, and most of all the service is impeccable.

Didn't plan to go here but parked outside and it looked inviting. Overall glad we did. Good coffee, and really tasty open sandwich (top marks). Staff were friendly but they managed to forget my carrot cake and coffee and when I reminded them it was too late as they had sold all the carrot cake. A bit annoying but the replacement brownie was very tasty. I thought they should have refunded the cost in full but only got a refund of the price difference.

We loved it. Nice coffee, warm croissants and a yummy banana bread plus a lovely garden to seat and enjoy.

Not a huge cafe but when the weather is nice there is an outside area. Nice selection of cakes as well as more substantial items available. Staff very nice.

El café recién renovado no es tan acogedor como solía ser, pero sigue siendo una decoración agradable. El café era un poco amargo pero el pan de canela era encantador. El menú de comida se ve muy interesante y definitivamente regresaré para almorzar allí en algún momento.

Normalmente, nunca escribo críticas, pero me complació mucho encontrar esta encantadora cafetería local. La comida era buena y el otro chico que trabajaba allí parecía encantador, pero la camarera estaba tan resentida cuando ordené y pagué (incluso para los estándares de Londres) que realmente me pregunté qué le había hecho. Mirando otras reseñas aquí resulta que este es un tema recurrente. Hay un café caritativo al que desearía haber ido a un lugar cercano, atendido por personas autistas con autismo; sus habilidades sociales son mejores que las de ella y siempre están felices de estar en el trabajo y no actuar como si servir té fuera una forma de degradación. .

This little gem of a cafe is my home from home. The garden provides a welcome haven from the busy road, the service is swift and the menu varied. The cakes in particular are superb!

Mis quejas son que tuvimos que probar 4 mesas antes de que pudiéramos encontrar una donde las sillas no estuvieran rotas, incómodas o no encajadas debajo de las mesas. ¡Amo los Oscar! Sus pasteles son absolutamente deliciosos y son vegetarianos. El desayuno de hummus es excelente también. La decoración es shabby chic y me encanta su jardín en el verano. Familiar, ya que tienen un bonito conejo con el que los niños pueden jugar. A debe ir cuando en el área de Lewisham / Ladywell.

Oscars es un delicioso café de forma independiente. Selección de la comida y la bebida es perfecto - en particular, ofrece una selección de pasteles constantemente cambiantes en el lugar hizo que el café es perfecto. Este emparejado con un personal amable y un hermoso jardín es un excelente lugar para quedarse.

Cafe encantadora con mucho potencial pero muy defraudado por el personal antipático! ! A veces apenas un hola y cuando eres un regular, esto realmente comienza a molestarnos! Hay muchos fabulosos cafés en la zona y hasta que el servicio ha mejorado - prefiero ir a otro lugar!

Pasado este lugar después de visitar Le Delice que está a sólo unos metros de distancia. Esta es una mucho más pequeña y más tranquila que la de su vecino.

A delghtful little cafe in increaingly cool Ladywell. Had a delightful breakfast with tasty well made porridge and generous latte.All very well priced.

Vine aquí para ver si tenían alguna torta vegano en oferta y estaba encantado de oír que tenía vegano Misa del gallo tartas. Tesis estaban tan bien que tenía que haber otro, todos regados con una taza de té o dos! El personal era amable y discreto, y el ambiente es muy relajado. Una gran jarra de té y pasteles por menos dos Misa del gallo cuatro libras era una ganga y sería incomprensible en la mayoría de otros lugares en Londres. Volveré a probar el eran lo mismo: en el futuro.

Encantador, bien guardado. El propietario de un apasionado baker - crea un maravilloso - Cata de tortas en el lugar y vende rebanadas generosas a precios generosos. Good home-made cakes, coffee was pleasant and the staff decent. Value fair, free wifi, nice decor. The WC had baby-changing facilities but steps going down. Happy to recommend

Me gusta mucho el café servido en Oscars. Este fue el primer "café de la burguesía" en la zona y, de todos modos, creo que es el mejor para mí a pesar de amplio de competencia. El interior es peculiar y decorado artísticamente, el jardín enanas un paraíso lejos del bullicio de los alrededores de Lewisham/Ladywell. Tortas son excelentes, me comí muchas veces y sus quiches y ensaladas son bonitas y frescas. Cambió de dueños hace unos meses y estoy encantado de decir que los estándares todavía llenar todas mis cajas, con la ventaja añadida de la incorporación de algunas tartas muy interesante.

A quirky cafe to enjoy in the summer just as in the winter. Lovely coffee, cakes and pastries. Haven't had any food there so cannot comment. Friendly staff and lovely ambient atmosphere.

been twice now nice to sit in the small garden and see the rabbits in there hutch. The latte is lovely and very cheap as is the food quiche is nice at $3.50 and a big piece not skinny as is the rest of their food. well worth a visit if you want a lovely cheap lunch in nice surroundings.

It's not often I come to the net to leave a poor review. I like to think people have their bad days but I was more than disappointed eating and leaving Oscars. Atmosphere was great, people were nice but the food was simply awful.I had the English breakfast at 5.5pounds. Beans were obviously microwaved and bland. One of the eggs was bruised but it was a Sausage that tasted like like paper, with a thick plastic outershell and soggy, mooshy interior that really ticked me off. I coul'dnt finish it thinking it must of been from yesterday. It looked deep fried, at least once. There is a butcher not 20 meters from them - What a missed opportunity to serve some good food. I asked for a green tea and was given a normal one, funny how places that serve the worst food never ask you ' how was your meal?' - Best part was the orange juice thanks to the machine that squeezed it.It looked like other people had made better choices with what appeared to be non cooked food.I wanted to leave 3 stars to be nice but 3 stars says 'average' - that was far bellow average and I am being very generous with my 2 stars considering there was smoke inside the cafe and I left with my clothes smelling like burnt oil.

Had quiche, salad and a large coffee for £6.50. He bakes bread cakes and pies on site. Quiche and bread are delicious and super fresh. The place is exactly as it was before but cleaner. Will start buying my bread here. Good to support a local business.

This quirky excellent cafe is just teh place to stop for morning coffee or lunch. The staff are very friendly and polite and the coffee is good. The decor is unusual and very interesting. Well worth a visit if you are in the area. No, I have no connection with the cafe just found it on a walk.

What a responsibility writing the first review for Oscars !!I came across Oscars whilst visiting locally and was very impressed with the helpful, friendly staff and the selection of menu choices. I had a Stilton and walnut tart and side salad - it was lovely. All the food visible at the counter looked fresh and certain items were made to order.The decor was really nice and unusual, in my opinion. I would describe the ambiance as casual.Oscars seemed very popular with customers - I was on my own but many were couples and families with children. I also noticed an outdoor seating area at the rear of the premises.Had my visit been longer I would certainly have returned.
