Awful awful place. Came in for the first time to grab a quick coffee before meeting some friends in Witney. Young man served me and was extremely rude and Impatient with me. Made me feel quite uncomfortable and rushed. Slammed my coffee down and when I ask for some extra milk on the side he let out a sigh and gave me a really angry look. Not the best service at all. I just couldn’t believe it, he was just so unnecessarily rude. While drinking my coffee a young blonde girl with baggy trousers was clearing a table next to me. I politely asked her who the young man was serving and she told me that he was called George. Maybe George was having a bad day and I take that into consideration absolutely but there’s no need whatsoever to speak and treat your customers so rudely. Very disappointed and certainly won’t be coming back!

Easily the scruffiest Caffe Nero I've been in. All tables littered with used cups. Floor filthy. Staff sullen when I asked them to clear a table. Furniture is badly coffee stained. It feels icky sitting in there.

Love the coffee here and it always has a lovely atmosphere but sadly it is now beyond scruffy to filthy. Tables very rarely cleared by staff of crockery ,customers do this therefore tables dirty not wiped. Sadly unless this improves do not want to risk becoming ill from the unhygienic premises. Perhaps department of environment needs to pay a visit . Hope head office looks at reviews.

Dirty tables, dirty floors. Was offered a dirty glass for water. Furniture so badly stained it was quite sickening to look at and must be full of germs.

We use this Nero as it's closest to our home and love it. One major exception and ongoing problem is the older male waiter with dark hair who never smiles and looks permanently miserable. You will spot him a mile away. He also questions people when they use a stamped card or collecting stamps which makes people feel very uncomfortable indeed. He must be terrible to work with. He obviously doesn't enjoy his job and likes to make everyone around him feel miserable too. We use Nero's all around Oxfordshire due to travel with work and this place is ruined ONLY because of one single person who has worked there it feels for years! Get a job you like and customers will be smiling again!

Arrived. 2 staff on duty. Place virtually empty. 8 Tables had dirty crockery on. We moved crockery to sit at window table. Got Coffee (Good) Left 25 minutes later and. in that time. only two other single customers came in. When we left 7 of the 8 tables still had the same dirty crockery. The table that had been cleared was not cleaned. So were the staff busy? No-they were talking and doing b*****r all. Food on the floor in entrance way. Much of furniture had crumbs and stains. I dont know whose business this is (franchise or corporate) but someone needs to get a grip. Tha above is not a "one off" its just general poor waitering. Why do we go there? Coffee always good. Its just a shame the place good be 80% better if the staff just did the job they are paid to do. No pride.

Ideally situated for a cuppa, but they really need to replace their furniture, lovely friendly staff - young and quick but they spend all their time chatting to each other or friends that come in. I witnessed one girl serving her friends and continue to talk about a planned night out whilst leaving someone in the Q unserved until another member of staff came out. The place is cramped at the back so not ideal for disabled or pushchairs. Coffee average.

They can’t ever clean the place? The chairs are generally filthy and on this occasion there was a piece of sandwich down the side of the cushion. This was 9am so I can only guess it was either somebody’s breakfast or more likely it had been there all night.

Standard fare here which is fine. Decor rather tired and the floor needs a lot of work. A quick stop during our look about the town.

We used to love coming to this dog friendly coffee shop but less so these days. Whilst the staff clear the tables, they never wipe them down, let alone use anything antibacterial. The place needs a good deep clean - very grubby, disappointing and we have now find a much more welcoming, cleaner local cafe that is far nicer to visit. Such a shame!

I understand that hospitality venues are struggling to find staff at the moment and why Nero in witney is closing at 16.00 every day. But what I struggle with is why one person only is serving whilst the other member of staff totally ignores the queue of customers and just continues to clean, maybe I'm old fashioned but surely serving customers should be priority. Very long wait and constantly telling customers we are closing at 4 is not welcoming.

Always good service and frindsly staff, plenty of seating usually, light and airy, one of my go to places in town

A regular coffee shop for my husband and me. Always great service, always great coffee and my husband says, always great pastries. Tried a Latte with Soya milk that was really nice.

Its lovely open space rooms, comfy seating, pleasant & friendly staff so nice to find a place we can take the twins in their pushchair & not have to keep moving them out of peoples way. Most importantly always good coffee.

Awful visit , treated dreadfully by a particular member of staff, have put in formal complaint on line to Nero.

We went in and had good coffee. The place is neat and clean. The staff were polite and kind while serving.

I saw the sign on the door saying 'disabled friendly' so chose them over the costa over the road. Firstly the door was manual...Secondly the entire till and service area was at a normal persons chest height so I could not see the attendants...Thirdly I was caught in an award situation of dialog when the attendant asked "Can you carry that!" I added an exclamation deliberately as his tone and flippent remark was serious. He actually expected me in a powered wheelchair to carry a grande latte a can of lemonade a biscuit and a pain au chocolat! Luckily I was saved as I was gawping struggling to find the words other than 'sorry i don't believe I can', by a lovely lady member of public who stepped in and carried everything to the table moved a chair for me AND got me sugar and a stirrer - I thanked her for her help I could never have managed to reach the sugar nor could my son easily. I thanked her and explained my shock that the staff did not do it, I later realised they never thanked her! I expected better from the advertising of a disabled friendly establishment, I've written a formal complaint but note that the complaint department has a different email address so I doubt it will change this establishments claims or training - it's not the staff's fault they were not well trained in how to deliver basic customer service - very disappointed!

We always go to nero as as we find their drinks are the nicest out of all the other chains . This time and the time before we have to say very disappointed!!It gets very busy and the staff try to serve to many people at once causing chaos and incorrect orders, also a lot of shouting !! It becomes very rushed and impersonal. The drinks were nice couldn't fault them . The place itself also needs a deep clean very grubby .

Great location to watch the world go by. Coffee freshly made and is piping hot. Good selection of refreshments availible all day. Comfortable seating and friendly atmosphere.

This cafe used to be the only chain I'd use as it had that local and welcoming feel. These days I feel customers are more of an inconvenience. The place is always dirty with tables left uncleared. Staff seem more keen to serve as many people at once rather than concentrate on one thus resulting in poor and incorrect drinks being served. Today I wasn't even thanked for my purchase. Very disappointing.

this coffee house serves good variety of coffees and has plenty of various seating arrangements to suit all. However - the noise of crashing coffee cups and saucers made by the staff near our table made conversation very difficult. this isn't the only place where staff are oblivious to keeping the noise down behind the bar.

Myself and husband visited today for nice coffee and chill out . We were met very rude staff , it was extremely busy and that can make staff flustered but the huffing and puffing at my husband because he ordered two drinks separately was uncalled for. Normally he would give full order but barista started making first drink without listening to full order my husband asked for second drink after . The two staff then started muttering to each other and came across very rude and made us feel like we were an inconvience! Also the place was filthy ! Not just tables ,it desperately needs deep clean.

Visited yesterday with a friend and just liked the whole ambiance with the mix of shared seating around a large table and lots of comfy armchairs as well as the normal benches and tables. It was busy but they were keeping up and clearing the tables. The coffee was very good too.

We go here most sundays and the service is great , cakes are good and coffee is great, keep up the good work.

We are regular visitors to Cafe Nero. Great location and great service. Ideal place to catch up with friends or just read the papers. Lovely fresh coffee and fresh pasteris. Always a treat.

I am fed up with expensive tepid coffe that is gone in 2 gulps. I know baristas are told not to serve too hot, but if i want it hot then that is my choice. Someone needs to explain this to the barista at the witney branch, who does not take direction well. Just accept what the customer wants.

Always a delight to visit this regular venue in Witney. Great location and amazing service. They maintain a friendly efficient team and create a relaxing atmosphere whatever time of day.

This was just a quick coffee break, but I found the place clean and tidy and the staff helpful. The coffee was hot and not over the top strong. It was early so there was no waiting for a table and service was quick. will go again

Whilst there are a lot of coffee shops to choose from in town, this beats Starbucks or Costa hands down.

Café Nero in Witney has supposedly had a refit? Painted and a few chairs changed does not constitute a refit. The Café never looks clean and even first thing in the morning the floor is covered in crumbs. Not the atmosphere you want to enjoy a coffee. Witney has a huge choice of coffee shops, Café Nero need to get their act together.

We went into Caffe Nero for coffee and snacks and were glad to see several free tables, however the tables and chairs were dirty and there was a customer's dog on one of the sofas, so we left without ordering anything.

Called in here on Christmas Eve for coffee and cake. Ordered a hot chocolate, latte and cappuccino cake. I was served by an impatient Batista and my drinks were both served in cups. Now, previously, I've always had lattes in a tall glass or mug, when I queried the change I was told it was due to the regular size I'd ordered, but he offered me mugs which I said I'd prefer, so he poured the drinks into them. The measures were, as I suspected, smaller than usual, and there was much "tutting" while he topped them up to the correct level! The tables badly needed clearing, by the time we'd made a clearance on one and sat down our drinks were lukewarm. My other half's cake was very nice, but based on yjus visit I'll stick to Costa or Starbucks in future!

As I work around the country and visit many coffee shops I find cafe Nero to be the best place to relax

Good location in town with regard relaxing and atmosphere, staff friendly although at times could clear tables quicker. Can get busy so comfy seats not always available butility chose your time and you'll have a good visit, nice coffee and convenient for shops. By far my favourite in town.

Their prices keep going up and the value goes down. The toilets are not the best. I have visited nicer cafe Neros.

We always rate Nero over other coffee shops in witney, I could sit there for hours a nice place to refuel . Drinks are nice, lovely atmosphere, staff are friendly and attentive , reasonable prices compared to most coffee shops . Will be back soon !!!!

A lovely place staff are friendly and helpful. Toys to keep children entertained. No iasue in helping with baby bottle heating etc.

I often come here alone or with family. I love how they are friendly but not intrusive and it's got a light and airy feel.

Have been here twice already and its a large spacious place with plenty of time to relax, good selection of small bites to chose from and the drinks here aren't too bad too but well pricey. Will I come back here again? Yes I would, prices here not pricey enough to completely deter me!!!!!

Have popped in here many times whilst in Witney. It is spacious - in most cafes you feel as though you are sitting at your neighbours table, but this is roomy and comfortable. The staff are always pleasant and smiley and you feel very welcomed. The selection of cakes and snacks is good, and service is quick. It's usually clean and tidy and quite busy. It's location on the corner means its flooded with light through the big windows, and an excellent place for a cuppa and a bit of people watching. You never feel as though you are being hurried out - I've sat in there with my book and a drink for a couple of hours whilst waiting for my husband to finish work and the staff are ore than happy to have you there. Highly recommended.

Great place for a coffee with my toddler. We come here weekly - I like the lattes, she loves their gingerbread men and the toys to play with, and watching the world go by from the huge sofas. Plenty of space inside and out, but they need more staff especially at busy times. Tables are left dirty for a little too long. We'll visit again.

We had coffee & sandwiches here a couple of times during our stay in Witney.There's a nice relaxed ambiance in here, staff are friendly. There's a range of sandwiches & cakes to purchase. The hot chocolate is good but we did find it a little pricy.

I did'nt think I would like cafe Nero but I did, the Witney version is a large open plan building with comfy settees and chairs in the front part and more cafe style seating to the rear.Coffees on offer are as per for this type of coffee shop so no surprises here, food offerings are also pretty standard , but I think it is the atmosphere within the building that makes this just a little better than the rest.

Whenever I stay in Witney I always visit Cafe Nero, why you may ask. The staff are superb, welcoming and smiling and sharing a cheery word with their regulars and newcomers alike. Coffee is good, and the food options are ever present.

Great for a place to stop, have a coffee and cake while reading a complimentary news paper. The staff change often but are always smiley helpful, and the coffee is good.

Like all Nero's the décor is informal and a bit of a hotch potch but none the less comfortable. I use Nero's to relax while out shopping and it provides a haven where you can relax with a news paper or simply people watch

Its relaxed, friendly and serves very nice coffee and toasted sandwiches and cakes. The situation is in a nice place for watching the world go by and caterers for all ages. Comfortable chairs in a very nice environment sets this as a nice meeting place with wonderful ambience.

Nothing special about it just a normal cafe with a good selection of sandwich and the paninis are very nice the staff seems very serious all the time not very welcome sometimes I guess it's because they are busy most of times when I go there

Very busy , always a good sign . Selection of hugely tempting cakes beautifully displayed . Very enjoyable cup of tea . Staff very friendly efficient and smiling despite being very busy . Again always a good sign ! Everywhere including washrooms very clean . Outside seating area a bonus as rare occasion when there was sunshine ! Nice atmosphere . Very reasonable prices .

Could be nice as good location but went in a found seats grubby and flies buzzing around the cakes which was a little off putting, drinks ok but staff managed to serve us without saying more than a couple of words! As there are so many other coffee shops in Witney I feel they should look at the interior and tidy it up a little - however, it always appears busy .

we visit here quite a bit as my daughter loves the milkshakes. They have a fantastic selection of sandwiches and soups. The fruit boosters are lovely. A great selection for everyone.

Hi,I provided a previous review of this cafe nero when I complained about screaming kids, but I called back in today, and it was actually pretty quiet.I've never had an issue with the food or the coffee in here. that's why I go.No complaint about that, however I think they should really invest in a fly zapper.I was sitting down near the back past the counter and felt something on my neck. It was a fly. No big deal.then I looked to my left and there must have been at least 60 flies on the separator between the serving area and the rear seats. I looked up at the ceiling and literally couldn't believe it. there were flies all over the ceiling, and I don't mean like 10 or 20 even I mean 100's !Didn't finish my food or coffee. Left. Won't be back now that's it - sorry café nero. Unacceptable.

Every single time I've been in here, its packed to the gills with screaming kids.Not on their own, obviously, although sometimes they do the solo 100 metres sprint back and forward to the toilet. Occasionally I've seen one who's eaten too much sugar trying to do the "wall of death", or the obligatory "Chair slalom"They are however with their mums with a full artillery of prams and buggies in tow. Sometimes granny is there too, telling all the other kids how noisy they are.Its a real shame its been seemingly taken over by the "Witney mothers with toddlers group", because apart from that it's a nice spot to have a coffee and the staff are always very nice, despite being driven slowly insane by the constant screaming /smell of wet wipes / Witney under 5's Olympics.Before everyone in Witney with children (everyone, apparently) gets up in arms about this review, please take it with a large pinch of salt.It's not a specific criticism of the mothers with their kids doing something bad or wrong of course, they're just doing their thing. It's just "not my cup of tea" when I want to sit and have a cup of coffee in peace in a coffee shop.One to avoid if you are looking for a quiet spot, which, incidentally, is increasingly hard to find in Witney.

I stopped off in cafe Nero today for a quick bite, their toasted ham and cheese croissants were delicious and I enjoyed a fresh fruit cooler as well. It is in a fantastic location for picking up the sun I snuggled up in a sunny window corner whereas most were sitting outside I was really really impressed by the customer service provided by all of the staff. Waiting in the queue I was Acknowledged right away and the politeness and efficency was really fantastic. The only slight hitch I came across was that there was only one toilet (for each sex) and an additional disabled loo. Usually I find coffee shops are all the same in regards to this but I did find myself engaged in a conversation with another lady who felt the same as we both had to wait a little while. Aside from this I had a really fantastic visit and I will make sure to pop back.

Popped into Witney With my daughter and stopped off as usual for a hot chocolate and brownie for Millie and a coffee and cappuccino cake for me.Always good service and a nice place to rest for a while

Popped in with a couple of friends for coffee and cake. Polite and friendly service and we was there past closing timing but didn't feel made to leave which was nice. Was all very clean and tidy.

My sister and I come here almost everyday and always meet other members of the family at weekends. We won't go anywhere else. The coffee is always good and the barista's are always friendly. We always get a warm welcome and they know our order when we walk in! The atmosphere is good and we never feel rushed. Sofas and chairs are cosy and warm and the music is relaxing. Best cafe in Witney by far.

Not a fan of these places, any of them, but the one in Witney is fabulous, comfy seats, great views, great staff and all at a fair price . Can't complain :)

Regular visitors to this friendly cafe. The Baristas are excellent, award winning even! Always met with a smile and hello. I love the atmosphere here, perfectly located with outside seating and comfy chairs or sofas. Coffee consistently good.

Were in at coffee tome and so were half the kids under three i think. Have to buy papers to read at Neros where as at Costa, they usually have a free range. Americanos pleasant taste. Good range of cakes. Uni sex toilets.

People who actually care about coffee and how it tastes. Good atmosphere, good staff.Location in Marriott's Way is good as the rest of a Witney is within easy walking distance. Visited during the day whilst out shopping, it was busy, but seats were still available inside and out.

Cafe Nero is the one for me amongst the chain coffee houses! Forget the rest, Emperor Nero is best!!

I go there often mainly for doing work as internet and laptop charging plugs are available. Service is so so, as stated in previous reviews. Though little crowded during mid-day, sofas are probably best in town for relaxing (and look at the world passing by the road) and best place to get some work done (you need earplugs) for the reasons above.

I have been to cafe Nero on several occasions. The coffie is good but the service is very slow. The staff are very polite but don't don't seem in any hurry to make coffies or clear the tables even when the que is out the door.Due to this I go to Costa which is on the other side of town. I have heard that Costa is moving to a unit across the road from Cafe Nero and believe they will loose a lot of business if they don't improve.

I like Cafe Nero but the Witney branch is not up to scratch at all.Tried it a few times with the same experience on each occasion. Slow service (often as the staff are chatting amongst themselves), dirty tables as they are very slow to clear and not managing their stock either as three trips on a row the white chocolate latte (I think) was not available.I believe Costa are just about to relocate opposite so you need to step up your game Nero. Stronger management required to crack the whip on the service skills me thinks!I shall give you another chance though, the coffee is good.
