Cafe Melrose in Belfast

First time visiting here yesterday and was blown away by the food and the staff. Lovely atmosphere and the staff were amazing with the children can't wait to go back. Thank you so much

A nice cafe on the Lisburn road with a good menu. I can recommend the eggs Benedict. They serve a great cappuccino and flat white too. Staff are friendly and helpful and prices are reasonable with today’s prices. Plenty of sweets treats to pick from if you want something extra too.

Had an early hospital appointment with my wife on Sunday...spotted the Melrose was open as we passed,and decided to get breakfast...food was fresh, hot and delicious,coffee was amazing too,and the staff were friendly polite and chatty...highly recommended...was sorry though I had no cash for a tip as they more than deserved it,and they couldn't take tip using my card...so next time im passing I gotta drop in a few quid..10/10....

Had a delicious breakfast this morning. He had a mini breakfast. Sausages were so tasty. Avocado toast was very nice. Really good coffee. We will definitely be back when we are in Belfast next. Just sorry we couldn’t leave a tip on our card. The service was excellent!!!

Such a lovely experience Staff and atmosphere was peaceful (with a very enjoyable music playlist too). Food was delicious, lots of flavour and very reasonably priced. Will definitely return in the future.

Café Melrose is on the Lisburn road two streets down from Tates Ave. It as open air table and chairs perfect for dog owner or just a summers day. It has a cool vibe. Run by two young men who’s chef is exceptional. Immaculately clean, Delicious food.I often go out to eat but this place has atmosphere that suit all ages. One the owner is a bore comedian so all I head was laugher the. Whole time I was there thé owned is incredible courteous and nothing seems to bother him. The cook is exceptional,they source only the freshest of food right down to stress free eggs and I could taste the difference.I eat out in restaurants a lot because of work etcetc but more often than not other eateries leave me feelin blotted and tired but this place made me feel energetic Opposite is my bus stop I get a lovely coffee at their hatch before they open at 7am!and lately lunch.The food is delicious the place is immaculate. As I was on my own a lovely waitress took the time to chat and was a sea of information so thank you so much for that. I am making it my local thé differing of age clients helps greatly to the atmosphere.I wish you all good luck and hope you make a big successful enterprise to my second hope. It’s true that they say Belfast people are the salt of the earth. Thank Cafe Melrose.

Brilliant spot for lunch and a coffee! Food was absolutely delicious and the service was excellent! Would highly recommend the chilli focaccia! Recently revamped the place is spotless and so bright and welcoming, will definitely be back.

This place was quite meh. The food was alright, but the service was atrocious. When we asked, over half the menus was either out of stock or not made anymore. We were also seated right next to a bathroom, although it is not there fault the bathroom was not is a secluded area and was very close to all of the tables.

First visit prior to hospital appointment. Slow service but spoke to staff and quickly served lovely coffee and heated crossants with a smile. After our appointment we returned for lunch. What a welcome we got and an apology from the male serving for our earlier encounter. Our toasties/ soup service was excellent. To all the staff working on 16th September ..Thank you. Anne & Mary.

Best pancake breakfast I have ever had, Each layer coated with fruit compote and Greek yoghurt, Coffee equally as great. Guys behind the counter were lovely.

We were visiting Belfast to attend an event & the next day after checking out of our hotel we ventured for food. Feeling a little bit delicate, all I wanted was a ham & cheese toastie & from the outside this looked like a place I could get this from. Our waitress didn't even crack a smile when greeting us. She sat us down at a table that still had crumbs on it. There was no ham on the menu but they did toasties. They did a bacon & cheese-filled croissant so I didn't think it would be too much to ask for this in a toastie but the waitress seemed most put out/confused by this, but she said she could do it. When it came, the bread was like cardboard & the crusts were definitely crusty. There were 2 pathetic rashers of bacon & a mountain of cheese. I took one bite & had to spit it out, the cheese was disgusting. We both had cappuccinos which were delicious. No one came to check how our food was & the girl didn't ask when we were leaving so we ended up paying for the uneaten food. A very displeasurable experience.

Brought kids here for a bite to eat during the week. Wasn’t overly busy. Sausages and burgers were actually really Good quality. Fries were tasty. I had soup and sandwich combo - soup was nice - but southern fried chicken in wrap was disappointing to be honest. It was grand but not somewhere I would rush back to. With some slight change they could have elevated this - crispy goujons in the wrap and I would be giving a thumbs up!

Went with my girlfriend for a sandwich, 2 sandwiches and 2 tins of Coke Zero was 16 quid. Chicken in the sandwiches was like rubber, lettuce was brown/black - not fresh what so ever. For the price of the food would have expected it to be fresher as it wasn’t busy. The table was also not clean. Friendly staff although will never be back due to the issues above.

Came here for breakfast it was amazing, the food was great and the staff were lovely! Vanilla Latte a tad bit too strong though, however it was great!!

Hit on it by complete accident on a Sunday afternoon. Felt like something small but on looking at the menu, was attracted to the Chicken gougons and my better half had a wrap. Boy it filled me up , home battered and tasty. Very hospitable staff also in a lovely quaint atmosphere surrounded by very interesting photos. Good value too. Highly recommend and it on the radar whenever back in Belfast.

A great place for the family. We had brunch there and they offered alternatives from the menu for our two young boys, alongside a cracking fry. Service was excellent and atmosphere was both welcoming and convivial. Also the milkshakes are a must.
