Having passed Cafe India lots of times on the A5,we decided to try it for the first time. Absolutely fantastic. From the welcome to the wonderful starter dips and poppadoms to the excellent mains. Will definitely be back and can recommend it for anyone wanting a superb authentic Indian meal.

An absolute jewel of a restaurant and as locals we should be grateful these guys keep consistently serving the best Indian cuisine week in week out. Keep up the fantastic work you are truly appreciated.

This is an excellent Indian Restaurant , the staff are professional and friendly and the food is superb, I have visited this restaurant many times and have never been disappointed, I thoroughly recommend it !!

We must have picked a night when the award wining shef was off 7 meals 2 acceptable the rest where liquidised sauce with meat no sign of any vegetables. The sauce was really sweet, you can find better Indian food in the supermarkets. Just like to add the waiting staff where all pleasant and polite but letdown By the chef who should have is liquidiser taken away and bined.

We are really fortunate to have Cafe India on our doorstep. Consistently excellent food, friendly and attentive staff serving an extensive menu of the usual suspects but with some excellent chefs specials. A clean, bright and relaxing restaurant. Good price point for quality food, definitely a family favourite. Just keep doing what you do guys. Well done. We will be back…..soon.

The best Indian restaurant in the UK in my opinion. I have been going here for over 10 years, and the food is consistently awesome, as is the wonderful service.

I’ve been eating at cafe India for 19 yrs and loved every single curry in that time. The welcome, atmosphere and ambiance is charming. At my age I’ve eaten curries all over the country and you would struggle to beat. Cannot recommend enough.

Over the years I have been to Cafe India many times and never suffered from a disappointing experience, the quality of their sauces is excellent and the greeting from Zillar is always warm and welcoming. The prices are reasonable and the service friendly. Their New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc is dry and fresh, good value for the price that they charge.

I hadn't been for a while but was welcomed back like an old friend. My friends and I were thoroughly impressed by our main courses, King prawn bhuna for me had a really flavoursome sauce, which I mopped up with my onion and coriander dry naan, accompanied by a red onion and cucumber raitha. My companions were equally impressed by their dishes, and we vowed not to leave it so long until we returned.

Fabulous food and very good service, really good atmosphere, nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was really exceptional

Been for a Father’s Day meal with my hubby and our son.The staff are friendly and helpful and the meal was delicious.Everything tasted very fresh and it was all piping hot.My starter of king prawn purée is the best I’ve ever eaten anywhere in the world.The portions are big and there is a very good menu.It was also lovely to see so many people dining there tonight but that didn’t slow down the service.We will be back very soon

This was our first visit to Cafe India in a while and we were both very impressed. Given lockdown they were taking takeaway orders only, delivered to the car in their car park. We shared a mushroom and spinach madras, with two vegetable sides and chapatis and it was really lovely. Perfectly spiced and full of flavour. Have to say, this was the best Indian we’ve had locally for a long time. We must head back here sooner.

As always an excellent meal with ‘A’ class service and dining experience. Wonderful atmosphere and one of the best Indian restaurants in the area.

This is the best Indian restaurant around. As always an excellent meal which our group of 4 all enjoyed. The staff are attentive and welcoming . A wide range of dishes for all tastes are available which are presented to a high standard and have distinctive flavours. Take always are equally as good . Post lockdown rules are being followed and we welcomed the opportunity to continue to eat in this well-established restaurant.

We often eat a takeaway meal from cafe india but booked a table in the restaurant this time. I have to say the food , service and government guidelines regarding distancing and safety for its customers were spot on. Very comfortable and welcoming but above all the food was just fantastic...if you want to eat this type of cuisine this is the place to go... 100% recomend.

This is my favourite restaurant for a curry. Again the food was simply excellent. The chana palak as side is the dish we have every time. Just go, it’s really good food.

Thought we would try this restaurant as we live close by. Plain and uninviting decor. Starters were ok. Main dishes of curries and rice were very salty, so salty we left most of it. Waiters didn't ask how our meals were but when he came over for us to pay my hubby mentioned it. Found the waiters unwelcoming so won't be returning.

Been eating the food from here for years when visiting friends who live nearby. Goes without saying it is great. I have now started going there now despite the distance because of their Covid 19 precautions. Order on the phone give them the car description and park on their own car park. When the food is ready it is delivered by a masked and gloved member of staff who observes social distancing. Very goo risk assessment.

We visit thus restaurant on a regular basis... Why ? Well the food is always lovely , eat in or takeaway , the service is excellent , the ambiance relaxing and friendly. There is a lot of competition with regards to Indian restaurants and it takes a consistent , professional , approach to how you treat your customers and the food you produce for them , I think Cafe India is that restaurant 5 stars from my wife and I on every visit.

Good food and great serviceFirst time I’d been here but after hearing good things from friends we tried it. Service was quick and the waiters were very polite and attentive. The starter and main meals were very nice. We had the vegetable and chicken pakora, and then a chicken balti, my wife asked for something not on the menu - a paneer and chickpea balti and it was not a problem. Will definitely use again .

Very very average bland food. The vegetable biryani had a few over cooked potatoes and carrots with a poor base sauce. The rice was too fine and bland. The keema rice had very little meat or flavour, I have had better chicken madras from Waitrose takeaway containers. It was a bland base sauce with over cooked chicken. The keema nan was over cooked and the meat had collected at one end and was bland. For £23 it was a total waste of money and an insult to me and my wife. I will NOT be using them again and do not recommend their takeaway to anyone.

We’ve recently started to go to Cafe India on a regular basis, but I saw something I didn’t expect to see on our last visit. The table next to us were served their starters and I noticed the man’s starter was burnt on the bottom. The lady he was with was telling him to send it back. It was a mixed vegetable starter which had obviously been reheated and burnt in the process. I said nothing, which was most unlike me, as I send things back on a regular basis. There was a definite lack of respect for this man, but he sat there and ate it.

Been a few times and never been disappointed my wife had never been but was impressed with quality of food and very reasonable prices and choices. Would recommend a visit without a doubt

We visited the restaurant this evening to celebrate my wifes birthday. It has been years since we last went there and it won't be too long before we go back. Both our meals were absolutely delicious and reasonably priced. I am more than happy to recommend the restaurant to anyone

We’ve been meaning to try Cafe India for a while. We went tonight. On a diet so was a bit puzzled as to what would be best to have. I had poppadoms and pickles and my partner had veg samosas. The service was good and the waiters were polite and attentive. The food was good and plentiful. Although it was noisy it wasn’t too bad. They were very busy but because their service was so good there was a fast turnover of diners. Our mains were chicken shashlik for myself and king prawn shashlik for my partner. We both enjoyed our food. My partner isn’t mad about Indian food and he enjoyed his food. We shall be back again.

Great food for 4 persons, I tried something different (we have eaten here since it opened 13 years ago), I was not disappointed, the food and service are fabulous - great staff and management too.

Well worth the drive from Telford with easy access. Friendly staff great variety on the menu. Always very satisfied with our meals and would not hesitate to recommend a visit.

Visited Cafe India quite a few times with family, the service is impeccable, food is amazing! You can’t fault the staff, they are so helpful, polite and adhere to your every need. My husband only likes mild food where as I am the opposite so from mixed balti to garlic chilli chicken, to punjabi chicken to Pathia we really are stuck for choices when We visit as they are all so tasty, the naan breads are the best I have ever tasted, garlic and coriander is the absolute best! It is a very lovely place to eat and would definitely recommend Cafe India!

Having previously lived in Bishopswood, we visited this restaurant on many occasions in the past. We were expecting a lovely meal. However, the service was appalling and the food disappointing. We waited an hour for our food - whilst watching the takeaway meals flying out of the door! It would appear that takeaway orders take priority over the in house diners waiting patiently for their food. When my food arrived it was tough and inedible. Dried up chicken served (weirdly) with chips - looking like something out of a fast food burger restaurant. The dessert menus were thrown on the table - probably because the staff were embarrassed. Nobody came to apologise. I have never written a poor review in all the years I have contributed to Trip Adviser, but we were all so disappointed. My only advice would be to stick to the takeaway menu if you really have to visit this restaurant. If you want to sample authentic, tasty Indian food, come to Stafford town instead where there are plenty of lovely restaurants.

We have been coming to this restaurant for over 15 years. The food and service is consistently excellent. We also have take aways which are equally good. We take different sets of friends and all agree it’s the best! Considering we live in a rural area we consider ourselves very fortunate to have the standard of this restaurant so near to us and as an added bonus they also deliver to us despite the narrow lanes.

Me and my partner come here every week, mostly a thursday but we also come on a sundays with family. This is the perfect place to come for excellent food and brilliant customer service. We have tried most things on the menu and we are never disappointed. We and our family love it here, its like home from home with the way the staff make you feel. We have had lots of take aways from here. Every one is incredible. Staff are really friendly, best chicken tika massala and pilau rice and cheesy garlic naan bread in the world.

Heard good reviews about this place so ordered a home delivery for the first time. Order came to £19, usually when we have an Indian, we have chopped onions/salad and a poppadom included but not with this order. Food was nice and delivered within 45 minutes.

Cafe India, has to be the best of its type for miles. The food is excellent, the staff are very helpful and friendly. Either for a take away or eat in, it has never disappointed us. We could walk to our local Indian, but would rather drive to Cafe India.

We ordered our home delivery which was estimated 45 min and true to there word it arrived on time.

North indian/bangladeshi cuisine at very good prices and absolutely delicious. Staff were helpful and courteous and catered to my vegan preferences without flinching. Excellent portion size and range of dishes. I wish i lived closer but sadly I was driving past on a work trip. Definitely recommend a visit.

We have used this restaurant regularly and never had such a poor experience as we did tonight. 8 meals out of 11 were Luke warm and 1 meal stone cold.

Recommended by a friend of ours decided to book and have a meal at this restaurant. I had the chilli garlic lamb and it was cooked lovely, albeit just a little on the mild side for me (I do like my curries with a bit of a kick). Portion sizes were adequate for each family member and reasonably priced.

Having driven past Cafe India many times my husband and I decided to try it tonight and I just wish we had tried it a long time ago!! Although from the outside it looks a bit naff once you step foot inside the door you are in a completely different place. Wooden tables and chairs and plenty of room. There were at least 3 families with toddlers in high chairs which I thought was fantastic. I had the Lamb Tetul to start followed by the Chicken Makhani and my husband had the Mixed Kebab starter followed by Chicken Naga and everything was very tasty and served hot and quickly. My Chicken Makhani was the best curry I have had for a long time and hubby said the same. Staff were very friendly and helpful and we will definitely be going back again.

Very fast delivery, excellent fresh food. Right heat level, chicken tender, rice lovely. It would have been a five star but the vegetable biriyani had mainly potatoes and carrots in it, with very few other veg, it tasted great though.

Dined here on a Saturday night and was pleasantly surprised. I was taken by my husband for a Mother’s Day treat. Really enjoyed the food. My husband, a vegetarian, was really impressed with his vegetable Jalfrezi. All fresh veg. Friendly and helpful staff. Only thing I would change is the lighting, a bit bright for me. Definitely recommend.

Came to cafe india on the 10/02/18 and we had “safa” as our server! We were told it was his second shift and i have to say he was excellent! We would defiantly be returning again! My friend and I visited Cafe India last night. It was my first visit even though I I had driven past on several occasions. But what a lovely night we had. There was a buzz to the atmosphere the smells were amazing and the staff looked after us straight away. Then came the food excellent and each mouthful was delicious even the extra coriander and garlic where present. Frank the owner was a lovely helpful man congratulations to you and you staff. Been here at least 10 times and never had a bad experience. The staff are attentive without being over bearing, the food is always good and they have a special price menu Sunday to Thursday making it inexpensive. In my opinion this is one of the best restaurants around.

This was a late choice for NewYears eve and what a choice it was, the food, service and personal attention of the manager could not be bettered. My wife is fussy with spicy food and our waiter bent over backward to ensure it was to her taste. The four of us enjoyed the meals and would recommend this eatery to anyone who enjoys authentic Indian meals. Thanks to all the staff.

Lovely food and very friendly staff, lovel hot olates to keep your food warm a must as my husband eats quite slowly. Maybe the only critism was they started to take the platws away and my husband was still eating, but fantastic food.

Four of us visited here. This being our first visit. We choose the three course for £15. Wow any starter, any main, any rice or naan, the any sweet or coffee. Fantastic meal we loved it. Great service and well worth a visit. We will definitely return and highly recommend

Excellent food. Staff very friendly. Possibly the best chicken tikka Pathia I've ever had. Also was told their fish curry is also very good. Nice decor inside. Also very reasonably priced compared to other Indians. Portion size was also good. I have a healthy appetite and managed to fill myself up!

For my husband's birthday he wanted to enjoy a meal with his children and partners.This restaurant is mid way for us all and the best bit is it serves Indian food, which we all love.My husband and I have eaten here a few times but not for a couple of years, since moving house so it was nice to return - just hoped it was as good as I remembered!It did not disappoint! I am glad I reserved a table as it was extremely busy, in fact the car park was full so much so we struggled to park without blocking someone in. Once parked we went into the restaurant.The tables were all full but our reserved table was available at the rear of the restaurant. It was quite noisy and there were quite a few children in there that unfortunately were not being very well controlled so were running around and shouting/screaming.That aside we continued to enjoy our evening and the delicious food on offer.The service was not the best as we had to chase our drinks a few times, however, this did not spoil our meal after all it was busy and the staff had a lot of customers to serve.All of our meals were delivered together and were every bit as delicious as I remember the food being on our previous visits.There was quite a variety of meals to choose from and the portions were just right.And the price was very very reasonable - just over £100 for the 5 of us !!!!Just a few minor faults but overall a fabulous evening and the restaurant did not disappoint just as good as I ever remember it being !

Went again after some time away and as usual we were greeted and seated without any fuss,left to choose from the menu while waiting for poppadoms and chutneys, drinks were ordered and served then we ordered. Now I like nargis kebab but it's not on the menu, ask! If they can do it they will, I love the belpurie channel, it's only on the menu as a starter,ask!I've had it as a main dish. Good quality food is served here. I am a massive curry eater and find that this food is just tasty, it may not come in american sized quantities which some of the other Indian takeaways do but its well made and you can taste this when your eating it.The service is always good, I believe there is two gentlemen that will serve you at your table giving it a more fine dining etiquette like your been given double the attention which is humbling. Its quite big and can seat plenty, nice decor and plenty of parking.

Popped in with the wife on a Tuesday night, was quite, but the staff were as attentive as ever, food was cooked to perfection and nothing was too much trouble, this is truly a gem amongst Indian eateries, no one can be disappointed when the food is of this quality

Taken by some friends who live locally for a Saturday night meal, what an excellent place. Bit of a strange location but well worth a visit, if you can get in! Very busy but super service, good beer to start and a BIG menu, could not manage a sweet and we had a big take away box of leftovers. Apparently the mid week early evenings are super value.

A big thanks to all involved in the preparation, delivery, set-up and service at our family party in February 2017.We had over 70 guests attending and they enjoyed one of five chosen curry dishes ,plus some speciality nut allergy and vegetarian meals and seven who opted for chicken and chips! People were unanimously complimentary about the range of meals, the quality, the taste and their overall enjoyment of their meals and the accompanying chutneys , rice salads vegetables and nan breads. Had a great meal well cooked lots of flavour. Asked about the salad provided with my dish as I do not like the designer lettuce increasingly served nowadays. Was told to tell them next time and they would do a cucumber and tomato salad instead. Just one thing the Stafford address is a stretch but that is not their doing. If driving from the Gailey direction easy to miss especially in the dark. Fortunately there is a BP petrol station just up the road that is good for turning round in. Well worth a try.

Well we have been meaning to try cafe India for some time, and tonight (Friday evening) we decided to see if we could get a table, we booked in for 8:30, arrived just after 8 and were seated quickly... popadoms came out hot... We had a tandoori sizzler to start to share, it was lovely and plenty to go at, the lamb on it was especially nice and tender, mains were chicken tikka balti, chicken tikka pathia, egg fried rice and nam breads. Food was excellent, service was great, in fact we couldn't fault a thing we just wish we had tried it sooner, next time I will take photos of the food I was sat to near the till to do so this time it would have been a little obvious. In the words of Terminator We will be back.

We hadn't used Cafe India for over a year, not for any particular reason as the food was first class on that occasion too. Anyway, we returned again on Friday 2nd march . Restaurant was very busy but this didn't effect the service, the food or drinks orders. Food pretty faultless from light and crisp popadoms through to the main meals.aam chicken starter a highlight and all mains hot and spiced perfectly. All reasonably priced and a great meal topped off by a small personal touch, it means the world when your son is asked by name if he is ok by somebody who hadn't seen him for over a year, cheers frank.wholly recommend.

Twice in the past 4 weeks have we eaten at this restaurant, and on each occasion it has been brilliant!We love our Indian cuisine and have eaten a lot in the balti HQ (Lye High St) in the West Midlands, but it's a bit of a trek for us. What a delight to find this place on our doorstep. Quality of the food is first class, service is efficient but not intrusive, and the atmosphere is very pleasant without being noisy and offensive.All in all, highly recommended.

This is just one of the best places to go for a great curry, I've been here a few times and it's always good. If it's not written on the menu they will make it for you, Very friendly staff.If you're hungry want a good curry this is the place for you. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone.

We have been going to Cafe India for many years now, its combination of excellent Indian food, consistent quality and great value for money is unbeatable in the local area. Despite what has been said in other reviews their lamb is always really tender, as they marinate it in advance, even for the lamb tikka. Tonight was the best meal that we have had there, starting with chicken and lamb tikka, their green yoghurt sauce to accompany it is delicious. Then a king prawn balti for my wife, and a king prawn bhuna for me, accompanied by a mixed raita, two excellent naan breads and an aubergine dish; all were superb, and we were too full to order anything else. The bill was £33.20, terrific value for money, no wonder that it was packed.

After being recommended a few times we decided to visit with a couple of friends. On arrival staff were very pleasant and welcoming. Food was excellent and service was very good too. Evening topped off with a complementary whiskey for the lads and baileys for the girls. Will definitely visit again in the not so distant future... just a shame I'm out of range for delivery

Found this place on TA when travelling. Had to leave a dose of reality. I wonder if the people who left five star reviews of this restaurant have ever had an excellent curry. It was OK. Bland and lacking in flavour but mostly inoffensive. Loads of onion, not that much meat. Rice too sticky. Deep fried starter too crispy on the outside with uncooked batter in the middle. Service was passable - fussy and disinterested in the wrong places. Coffee was terrible. Sorry but it really was.

Made a telephone booking but could have easily turned up on spec. Only a handful of tables occupied on a Saturday night. Seems very popular with take out and home delivery.From the outside the building itself is underwhelming and puts you in mind of a 'Little Chef'. Maybe that's was the previous use. I think the restaurant would be enhanced by a little more though on its 'curb appeal'.Good parking though shared with Weston park Motors.We arrived early and had a drink whilst waiting for the rest of our party. The seating area for non diners is not comfortable, high table/ high chair and we were glad to be shown to our table. The cokes we ordered were poured from a plastic 2 litre bottle.The décor is non traditional, open plan and airy with air conditioning. Piped music was subtle. Good clean modern loos.We ordered poppadum's, starters, mains and sides with drinks over 2.5 hrs the bill came to a respectable £ 23 per head. I enjoyed the samosas chat, nice and spicy with a chick pea garnish. The Bay Of Bengal fish special recommended too , nice a meaty. The Sylheti special mix with prawns chicken and lamb would be by choice next time as that looked great.If you can visit Sunday-Thursday there is a great value meal deal £ 9.95.

Been a while since we've been due to various things but walking through the door and its just like you've been Evey week.the staff are friendly and efficient and the food,whatever you order is excellent a new dish this time tikka chicken or lamb and mushroom stir fry(my wife had the lamb)and raved over it,I had the tetul chicken(a dish I'd recommend even if you don't think to like India food).starters done onto mains,wife lamb naga!plate finished!with a garlic keema naan, me, tried the honey chicken,took about half home,can't fault food so won't even try. Had a meal here for my sons 21st Birthday. Staff were really friendly and welcoming. Food was lovely , couldn't fault anything, lovely atmosphere and staff went of their way to make it a special evening.

Visited Cafe India once again with my other half for a great curry. Greated by three staff members who we find are always pleased to see us. We have now used this restaurant on several occasions as a couple and with friends, it has become our local Indian restaurant as we can't find any faults with their service, meals not to mention their mid week price deals.You will not go wrong by visiting Cafe India on the A5, trust me.

We have been eating at this restaurant for a couple of years now and although we live 17miles away if we fancy indian this is our go to place. Nothing is too much trouble and the belpuri Channa almost turned me veggie (my carnivorous side won out) give this place a try you won't be disappointed

We went there after reading a write up in a local paper. Excellent food, fresh and tasty, and served with a smile.We have recommended this place to family and friends, can't wait to visit again

Been here a few times recently the food is always very good my favourite at the moment is the lamb stir fry starter Mon-Thurs it's just 9.95 for a starter main and coffee or ice cream a bargain if you ask me!

We turned up on spec on a Saturday night a table was found, the staff were excellent. Superb service table cleaned between courses, the food was excellent.My only comment I have family who are vegetarians it would have been nice to see a vegetarian section rather than large portions of side dishes. For an Indian restaurant I'm always disappointed by this as different lentil dishes and vegetable dishes should be available as you would find when visiting the Sub Continent

Sorry it late...but thank you for making my moms 60th birthday the most amazing visit thank you for putting the cake away in the kitchen and for the banner for the table and allowing us to decorate the table with balloons and confetti. Thank you so much for waiting for the whole group to arrive ...my mom had an amazing time....everyone commented how wonderful the food was and that the service was second to none...and that was a group of nearly 15 ......thank you as always to everyone that night.....sorry for the late review as you know I lost my dad a week before and funeral was the week after my moms party so my head been all over the place.....but again you deserve 5* for service and food your one in a million and I'm yet to find anyone anywhere close to your food and service.....much love tash xxx
