It is a lovely cafe. The Chai latte's were lovely. I had the vegan Quorn panini, that comes with salsa and vegan cheese. I could not finish it because it was so spicy!! I enjoy a little spice. However, my tongue was on fire. My boyfriend tried some too, to see how spicy it was. He too agreed it was too hot to be enjoyable. Cafe Express please put 🌶 🌶 signs next to it on the menu. If I'd known it had spice, I wouldn't have ordered it. We both immediately went to the corner shop and brought 2 bottles of water, to try and calm the burn. Sadly we wouldn't go again.

As always a very friendly venue where the food is of a very good quality. The service is first class and the staff take time to chat with the customers. It is my first choice in Stourbridge. Stan

The positives are, the cafe is perfect for people watching, it's full of interesting antiques and a little quirky, which we love. Coffee is great too. We ordered the full English... the black pudding was thin as a crisp and dry..the bacon was insipid and had those horrible white spots on it, the sausages had no colour either - we don't understand why, as we've been here quite a few times in the past. One member of staff had a terrible attitude, narrowing eyes, doesn't want to engage - yet the more mature lady was very lovely and welcoming who took our order, the complete opposite. I think she knew the other woman was being unhelpful I could feel a massive atmosphere in there. The menu was sticky too, plastered to the table 😔 Where is the lovely gentleman? He's usually cooking and he food is fab when he's in. Something is not right. It felt like the food had been cooked a long while ago especially the black pudding. Neither of us wanted to address this problem especially with an already antagonistic member of staff and we didn't want to upset the loverly older lady either. Normally we'd do this face to face. Either way, lovely little place, but won't be our future place for breakfast , we couldn't stand another colourless sausage.

Awful place. I will never step foot in this cafè again, aside from the fact the food was just ok ( I could have cooked better at home myself), the main reason for this rating was the service and facilities. I asked the woman who was cooking if I could use the toilet as there were two chairs blocking access to it. When I asked if I could walk past the kitchen to get to it (holding my 3 month old baby in my arms) she said “no, that’s the kitchen just move a chair” in an irritated tone of voice. I was not rude when querying this, however I can’t say the same for her. When I did get to the tiny, dirty toilet there was no changing facility and I had to go elsewhere to change my baby. I would not have stayed here had my mother not already paid for the food. Manners cost nothing.

In my humble opinion this is the best café in Stourbridge. The staff are always welcoming and the food is always good. There is, as far as I know , no free WIFI which means that people come and go without lingering to surf. It is only my opinion, but I think it helps the atmosphere.

Thanks to Paul and co for a splendid evening (on your bistro menu). Lovely food and atmosphere. Soft drinks available, but bring your own wine. Unfortunately, if you're not a fan of curry or real ale then Stourbridge offers very few treats, making these evenings a bit of a gem. Hope to catch you all again soon.

Fantastic place for Stourbridge to have. Been there many times over the years and the food has always been perfect. Much nicer atmosphere than those large chains and the staff always make you feel welcome whether it's your first or fifteenth time in there. It's nice to see such care taken with how the food is cooked and presented. They really have nailed it with this place.

We always go to this cafe when we visit Stourbridge. The quality and value of the home made food and drinks are excellent and the breakfast is substantial and delicious. The tables are well laid out, the area is not cramped and the seats are comfortable. The staff are really cheerful and friendly, nothing is too much trouble, such a lovely atmosphere to enjoy good food. We would not hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for a lovely cafe in Stourbridge.

It maybe popular but I don't know why. The breakfast was cold and small. I know that they have to limit portion size to keep the prices competitive but there was no need for it to be look warm at best. The rating would have been worse but the bacon was a good rasher. As regards portion size beans cost very little so a bigger portion would have been a worthwhile investment. To top it all, having got two drinks on a tray when the food came I moved the tray to make room only to have the waitress walk off leaving me with a tray and no were to put it. I won't be going back.

My mother and I I’ve been coming to cafe express for about 15 years. The staff there are always friendly and helpful, particularly with my elderly mother who has dementia. The coffee is excellent and the food is always good. Good to see a thriving cafe/bistro business in Stourbridge. The catering business is hard and deserves local support. I’ll be trying out their popular bistro evenings soon. Keep up the good work guys! 😃

While visiting the area me and my partner popped in for lunch. Very friendly, great atmosphere, good prices and the food was top quality. Highly recommend this venue.

Great food and prices. Stumbled on this place. Jacket potato with tuna and salad was delicious. Hubby had homemade quiche and it was definitely homemade....he said it was the best quiche he's had!! Will come back. Thanks for a lovely lunch

What a lovely cafe, the two ladies working there are so friendly and welcoming. The cafe was warm, cosy and with perfect lighting. I had a delicious veggie breakfast which was served promptly. You can see from the comings and going that this cafe is a hub in the community and clearly they have a lot of regular customers.

The staff are welcoming plus the place is spotless. There's a good selection of food and drinks at a reasonable price. Plus the food is very good

I am writing this as I am still sat in here as I felt it needed a review straight away. My husband is very hard to please and he emptied his plate that in itself speaks volumes! I had the ploughman’s and it is amazing value for money. So much food and it was absolutely delicious! Highly recommend. Don’t go walking by!

I came here with my husband for the monthly pop up bistro night. The food was high quality, served hot and was delicious. Service was fantastic. I chose home made soup, goats cheese, broccoli tart followed by Eton mess. Restaurant standard but cafe prices!

This small café is a few yards from the main street of Stourbridge but it is worth searching out. The food is good and reasonably priced, the staff are friendly and helpful, and – almost a unique selling point in the town - a delicious breakfast of porridge and cream is available!

We've walked past this cafe so many times because we've already been somewhere else to eat or for a hot drink. Would definitely come again, lovely staff, small but not on top of each other and good food. Very good value for money and quick friendly service

On a cold spring day feeling fed up and hungry I came across this cafe,I am so glad I did.I went in ordered a full English, no eggs,the reply what would you like instead.This is a first for me and I chose an extra sausage.I also asked for a cup of tea.Sitting on a small table my stomach went into overdrive.I was presented with 2 sausages,3 rashers of bacon,black pudding,beans ,tomato,2 rounds of brown toast and butter plus a pot of tea.The tastiest breakfast I've had in a long while and a 3 cup pot of tea. Thank you for making me feel full and human again

After visiting this venue many occasions and having always enjoyed it our meals here, we were disappointed on the last visit when we ordered two bowls of soup which arrived barely warm. In addition to this, one of us found pieces of pottery broken off from the soup bowl. When this was mentioned to staff the response was 'Oh, sorry', and nothing further was said of it, no further apology or good will gesture was offered. Customer service on this occasion was lacking. Will not be returning.

Nice breakfast and drinks nor much seating only thing let's it down so hit and miss if you get a seat

Fuimos a la noche bistro con amigos para celebrar mi 40 cumpleaños. Había 17 de nosotros y tuvimos que comprobar pedido nuestra comida (completamente comprensible ya que las noches bistro son un evento especial) pagamos 16 libras cada uno por una comida de 3 platos, que era de un nivel muy alto. Pudimos llevar a nuestro propio alcohol o comprar bebidas no alcohólicas que era perfecta para un grupo grande de amigos. El personal era encantador y acogedor y disfrutamos de nuestra comida. Incluso un menú especial vegetariano para acomodar uno de mis clientes. Gracias por una tarde relajada, estaremos alerta para futuros eventos:).

Lovely food and wonderful staff. The three courses were well worth the money for £15. I am definately going again. I'm looking forward to the Christmas special.

Hoy en día fuimos a conocer algunos familiares para café y algo para almorzar. Lo increíble café italiano y el servicio era muy bueno, cortés y eficiente. Puedo ver tímido tiene 5 estrellas higiene ya que el lugar es muy limpio y la comida recién hecho. Tuvimos una gran variedad de platos diferentes. También reservamos para su evento bistro mensual como el menú parece increíble. Vale la pena una visita.

seguiré este corto y dulce. Éramos un grupo de 8 reserva para un sábado por la noche y cada uno de nosotros disfrutamos de cada campo. Para ser sincero, la comida fue absolutamente deliciosa, los postres complementan los platos principales perfectamente y las raciones eran el tamaño perfecto así que nadie experimentado esa sensación hinchada/excesivamente pesada llegar después de comer en muchos restaurantes. El personal era muy amable y educado para hacernos sentir cómodos inmediatamente.

Bonita esquina posición que he pasado muchas muchas veces, pero nunca nos aventuramos y realmente no puedo decirles por qué ... Con tanta competencia alrededor y un nuevo salón de té cerca abrir pronto ... Nos dio una oportunidad ... Muy limpio. Menú de cafetería Standard ... Atento pero no demasiado amable servicio ... La comida estaba muy buena calidad y bien presentado nada en absoluto de lo que quejarse ... Cafés eran bastante bueno ... Fue cuando estaba sentado mirando alrededor que que se apagara los 90s 1970 actuales sentir interior puede ser por eso he no paró antes ... Me rediseñado en mi cabeza como yo comimos los pequeños cambios a la decoración encajan en la calidad de la comida y incrementar el negocio ... Yo sugeriría nueva iluminación perder lienzos añadir espejos y antiguo high St local, etc fotos ... Pero más cómoda sección de asiento en ventana y pierde la tela en la ventana ... Le daría más acogedor ambiente contemporáneo

Popped in for the monthly bistro night - excellent value, food & service, & you can bring your own drink. Great way to start a Saturday night out in Stourbridge. Would def recommend

Thought I would post this reveiw as I just simply enjoyed the food and the very warm reception I received. As I say, just like the vibe and service, and speed of service....I say again...Smashin, and keep up the good work

Walked in on the off chance mainly to get out the cold , couldn`t have been made to feel more welcome , fresh coffee and a Bacon sandwich , coffee was spot on and bacon done just how i asked , what more can you want

We have found a local gem recently and Stourbridge regulars should feel incredibly chuffed since the change in management at Cafe Express. Not only do they serve the best coffee in the area but there is always a friendly face and professional service behind the counter. The venue is always busy and the change in decor has improved the atmosphere and overall lighting of the space. The other excellent option is the evening Bistro that runs on a monthly basis, where you can bring your own wine and sit down to a fantastic three course meal from a choice of three starters, three main courses and three desserts for an exceptionally priced £14.95. We have visitied on a number of occasions and really appreciated the hard work and creativity that the new managers are implementing. Perfect for a quality coffee, fantastic selection of sandwiches and an excellent range of home-made cakes, we also fully recommend the evening service, so come and support this excellent local business!

I will give credit where it is due and say that it's ok inside, nice and warm for a cold day and food decoration. The issue for me was from the moment we sat down. Still cups from the previous customers on the table, this wasn't the problem, I decided to clear them and place them on the counter, the older of the two ladies took them off me without so much as a thankyou just a stoney look. We then stood to look at the menu boards, at this point she stood there with pen poised for our order when it was obvious we were having trouble deciding, may I add there are no menus on the tables to decide beforehand and there was noone else waiting that we were holding up. I decided on a panini, I wanted chicken and Sundried Tomato, strangely the menu only had SunTom on its own...Who wants that. I was charged an extra 50p for this even though they do chicken&bacon at the same price. Ok so my gf had a ploughman's lunch, she had to decide between cheese or ham... A true ploughman's has both and she wanted both. Again a further charge. Ok I thought that's maybe fair but when it came, 1 slice of ham and a small wedge of cheese. Not only that but one piece of bread, not even enough to use half of the ingredients. I went to ask for another, more bad attitude received "didn't it come with bread?" yes I relied, but just one piece, "that's 25p then".In summary the experience was terrible due to the one person serving, you get the feeling with some people they hate there job, she was definitely one of them and if they have any sense they will put her in the back and get someone who's capable of a smile and knows how to serve people. Certainly won't be returning which is a shame.

We hired Cafe Express for a 21st Birthday Party. As we have 4 babies in the family we found that having exclusivity of the restaurant such an advantage. We made a creche/playing area in the top corner and it worked perfectly.Paul (the owner) was very flexible with our desires to move things around to accomodate our family.The food was excellent, and plenty of it.

Cafe Express has been in Stourbridge for a number of years, now under new management, starting Bistro Evenings. Excellent food well presented with attentive staff. Excellent coffee. Very good value all round

Cafe Express now open as Bistro in the evenings. Six of us had great food and service. Well worth a visit if you get chance. Its not a big place so good idea to book a table.

Had a very nice time in an amazing atmosphere. Sea Bass served on top of an amazingly fresh salad bed. Will definitely be going again :-)

Under new management so thought would give a try. We had a cappachino each and a club sandwich which is chicken bacon mayo lettuce and toms. Nicely presented on wooden platter. Staff really friendly and helpful. Recommend!!!
